Negative experience: Never mind nice clothing WITH labels attached disappearing. My mother entered Fairhaven dementia ward only a few months ago with a wedding band and mother's ring. Why did we not remove them? Because her arthritic fingers prohibited easy removal upon admittance. Rings FH denies she was wearing when admitted because they weren't on her property list. She falls ill and dies in less than 24 hours. "Where are my mother's rings; the ones I have pictures of her wearing 2 weeks ago while in the Fairhaven facility? Do they hold much value? Absolutely not. However, after being on my mother's finger >71 & 55 years respectively, you bet I'm angry!

Negative experience: This place is a nightmare, and its 2-star rating is generous. My mother was here for rehab after surgery, and the experience was beyond appalling. The staff were not just unfriendly but outright disrespectful. When she called for help, it often took over 30+ minutes for anyone to respond. There was much more that is too much to list. This neglect led to multiple falls—completely unacceptable. The excuse of being understaffed doesn’t cut it anymore. You are responsible for people’s lives, and this level of care is disgraceful. If you love your family, keep them as far away from this facility as possible until they make improvements. To the ownership of Fairhaven: Take an honest look in the mirror. On your website it says “Fairhaven offers compassionate and excellent care for your loved ones…”. The majority of these reviews tell a different story, and there’s no way you entered this business aiming for a 2.6 out of 5. Take pride in what you do and make things right.

Negative experience: Please make sure if you have family or friends here that you are ALWAYS checking on them. This place does not take care of your loved ones. They do not change them. They let them stay in there own urine and feces for hours unless someone says something to them. They do not have their nail or toenails cut. They let their patients (known for falling) fall and even state (the director)they have the right to fall. Like anyone wants to fall and get hurt! This is an unacceptable! They do not put alarms on their beds to know when they fall out of bed as well as there are no rails on the beds to keep them from falling. Their doors are kept shut so how would they know if someone falls out of the bed? So patients could be stuck on the floor for God knows how long before they are helped! The whole locked unit wreaks of urine. Tables are always dirty. This is not a sanitary environment and can cause infections that your family might not survive from. Or elderly and veterans deserve better treatment! Please please please check on your loved ones and if you're able to help them try your best to get them to a place that actually cares for them! This place is NOT it! Added after automated response My review is accurate it's exactly what I have seen. There is no reason for me to call the director since nothing is done about the unsanitary care I've seen! Would love to see you pass a surprise inspection of any kind!

Negative experience: Do not send anyone you care for or ever go to this place for yourself!! My mother inlaw had emergency surgery the first week of Aug and she had to go to rehab after her surgery. The medical staff sent her here. The place never told us they had no working air conditioning during the hottest month and weeks of August! We walked in after she was transferred and it was so hot and humid it was almost 90 degrees inside the building!!! They had no ice as well due to electric issues. We had to run to the store to get the poor women some ice water and find another rehab to take her that day because there was no way she would be staying in a medical rehab facility with no air conditioning or electricity at 74 yrs old...doesnt matter how old actually!! This place is awful amd all they could offer were fans in the hallway not even in the rooms!! All the lights were turned off! I had to go outside in the 90 degree weather and it was cooler outside then inside! I felt sick after being there for 10 mins and she was supposed to be staying for 10 days! They had over 48 hrs to notify us that they were having all the issues stated above!! She came from Southern NH hospital fyi. Make sure u ask if they have electricity and heat or ac before being a patient!!

Fantastic experience: My Family member has been here since 2-14-24 and I couldn’t be happy enough with the care he is receiving here. All the staff is so caring and supportive. The place is immaculate and never has an odor that some places have a tendency to have. Fairhaven definitely deserves the 5 stars!!!

Negative experience: It was a good place till this new administration took over forcing patients to eat in the dining room or get a 30 day notice to move to another place

Positive experience: My father has been a long term resident here. Dad says he loves it and couldn’t be happier, he has no complaints at all. I have a complaint, the rooms have no phones so it’s next to impossible to speak with my dad. If you call you will reach an automated message that rambles off a long list of extensions. I sat here and wrote each and every extension down then proceeded to call and use every extension and each time I reached a voicemail. What’s ironic is the response to all the other reviews from Fairhaven is to call the same exact number that will lead you to the automated message that leads you to a voicemail… I just want to be able to speak to my father… this is depressing.

Fantastic experience: Working at Fairhaven and seeing how staff and residents become family has been an amazing experience for me. I would highly recommend Fairhaven as a place to live and work! The facility is always clean, rooms are being renovated and the restaurant dinning experience is amazing! Come and check us out!

Negative experience: I've never seen a more insect infested place, they use dirty silver ware, broken glasses, same food is served day after day only they call it different name, I've witnessed physical abuse of elderly patients by male nurses, if you say anything your medication is purposely late your calls for the nurse go unanswered until they feel like answering,if you have people here check on them regularly and keep you eyes and ears open.... these pictures are taken over a period of 4 months and they are real they are time and date stamped you can't change that and the police have not heard of the physical abuse because I'm the one who reported it to administration and they are trying to find a way to hide it, that's not going to happen and I don't need to call the owner because im a patient here and I've seen this all first hand and it's the owner who is lying about what really goes on and it's the OWNER himself who has asked staff members to get friends to write a review in favor of fairhaven that's what kind of guy he is and I might add that the employees have said that they would not be willing to do that if people don't believe this review then read the reviews of others and you'll find the same thing, negative reviews... also I was injured 2 times from going to physical therapy after taking to others I have been told by them that they also have been hurt or injuries from physical therapy perhaps the physical therapist needs to get refreshed on what physical therapy is playing Yahtzee and wee bowling and solitaire games are not physical therapy just charges to the insurance company, today's bugs st fairhaven... For the Owner he is today's photo of how safe your facility is, wow still using broken glasses . Haven't been at this disgusting place for couple months now and still read the reviews and unless it's from employees like Elie and the abuser ilias there aii bad and the OWNER always says sorry but doesn't do anything else, however he will collect your money every month I erge everyone who has family at UNfairhaven to keep an eye on them because even if they don't tell you themselves they are being abused in one way or another, read the reviews by people who don't work there, 4 out 5 are , it's time we would together to get this DUMP CLOSED , and maybe seek charges against the OWNER because he knows exactly what's going on, e just wants to keep the checks coming in, HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONES ...

Fantastic experience: My mom has been at Fairhaven since March 2022. The staff is awesome they make sure she is comfortable. My mom is well taken care of and I am glad she came here.

Negative experience: This place is beyond horrible. Please do not send you loved ones here. They basically left my mom in the bed to rot. She has had no physical therapy at all, all of a sudden became wheel chair bound, unable to eat or drink, unable to extend her legs due to being left in the bed so long. We are currently reporting them to the state.

Negative experience: They don't have phones In the patients rooms. The nurses barely answer the phone so its nearly impossible to get a hold of your loved ones. I tired to leave my number for the nurse to call me and she never called me back. This place is horrible. I don't understand how a place like this is still open.

Positive experience: I am at Fair Haven now and all though it isn't the Ritz the food has improved and the staff is great. This is a safe environment to be in they are here to help they have met all my physical needs and are working on helping me with my depression so if your looking for help ask no further

Negative experience: This was the worst facility I ever seen it smells like urine in the main halls,dining areas and rooms are very disgusting!!!!The staff is completely clueless and rude.All you hear is call bells going off day and nite unanswered. How the state let's this place operate is a completel mystery and who ever operates the place should be embarrassed.Please think twice before bringing a loved one there.There is no privacy and the staff gossip personal information freely with other patients???wich is very illegal

Negative experience: My Dad was in an amazing assisted living facility, but needed to be moved to a locked facility for fear of elopement (as his disease progresses). I cannot believe a place like this is allowed to remain open. I felt like I was on candid camera. It was dirty and in disrepair. No one seems to know what is going on or seems to care. He was crammed in a very small room with another man. The room barely fit two twin beds. Someone had come in my dad's room and peed on the floor all the way to the hall. They cleaned the hall, but not his room until I asked.

Negative experience: Awful staff rude rude rude. And never inform you of loved ones condition.

Negative experience: If you love your friends and or family, do not let them go here! These people could not care less about their patients, the stuff they do to these people is disgusting!! This place needs to be closed down.

Negative experience: My mother broke her pelvic bone,already had a broken arm and was transferred from Lowell General to Fairhaven. When I first went to visit her I was stunned at the clutter and the over all appearance of the place.Her room was small,had another patient in it and walking through you could see rooms with up to 3 beds in them.My opinion was it was to small for three beds.As anywhere some of the workers were good, others seemed like they could care less.You could ring your buzzer and at times it seemed forever before someone came.My mother was in there for falling,so common sense would to be to watch out for this.Well one night she got out of bed and right down on her face she went.She was on the floor,yelling for help, her words were it took forever before someone came.She ended up back at LG with a bruised forehead,two black eyes,a bruise on her hand.Luckily she didn't break any other bones.Personally I wonder how this could of happened as she was labeled "At risk of Falling".She personally didn't like it, she said some of the aides were not very nice.If you haven't got a caring heart this profession isn't for you.Rather than just hire people just to have workers I think they need to be more selective in their choosing.And the atmosphere is depressing so it's hard to see how someone would get better there.I would not recommend Fairhaven to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately, my Mom's poor health has forced us to have her in more than 7 Nursing Homes over the last 5 years or so. We've seen them all - the good - the bad and the ugly! For the past 10 months, she's been at Fairhaven. We only wish we found this place 3 years ago. The differences are astounding! She's never been more healthier and happier. She calls it "home" now. We agree! We know she'll never come back to her real home, but I can't imagine a better place for her to be - - - and believe me, we've seen them all. I've never written a review of any kind. But when I saw Kim Rotondis review below I felt compelled to defend my Mother's "new home". If your a family member and you've never been in any Nursing Home before, it can be quite a shock. And that's understandable Kim. I remember my first time. I'll bet you this was the first time Kim was ever in a Nursing Home as the things she states are seen in every Nursing Home we've ever been into. It's the nature of the population! The key to a quality experience is not watching other patients drooling in the hallways - - that's too sad. Instead, it's watching, and being by the side of those nurses and aides when they give care to your Mom. And at Fairhaven, I've never seen it done any better!! Thank you Fairhaven!! I hope you see this post and I hope you share it with all of your incredible employees!! God Bless you all!!

Positive experience: I have been working in Fairhaven health care center for a year and I can say that facility really take care of their residents. They receive 24 hours of care every day and staff members including CNA, nurse... work as much as they can to make residents feel like home. I remember a day one of the residents was very upset because she could find her white pants in her closet. one of the nurses went to talk to her and promised to get her white pants. Couple minutes later, she got it and and everyone could see on her face how blissful she was. As that resident, staff members are always here for residents and they are always make sure about residents' needs. I am not saying that the facility is perfect but i do know that residents' care, needs and safety are our priority.

Negative experience: My mother has been in this facility for 2 yrs..I have to say this place does not care about any of the elderly, the buzzers go off and no one moves, my mother happened to fall and I have no idea how long she was on the floor until they found her. These people make it sound like the care and promise things are getting done. I have a list of deceit. There social activity is sitting in the hall way drooling or screaming, the form of exercise is walking to the dining area and back to their room. Recently I stopped in to visit my mother and I checked on her clothes and there was nothing in her dresser, now mind you there is or was over a months worth, I mentioned to the aide then the social services person they seemed surprised, really the top my mother had on wasn't even hers. Sadly they suck the elderly dry and do not get the proper care, looks can be deceiving... It's truly a shame.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE, if you love your loved one find another place.
