MedSport Sports Medicine at Domino's Farms: Reviews
Negative experience: 1000% NOT impressed!!! UofM was supposed to be my saving grace. Definitely NOT. I saw two doctors here, an MRI and an Xray, and still no one caught what is wrong. Asked about using dye for my MRI and was told it’s not necessary. Two drs here told me there’s nothing they can do for my extreme pain and swelling in my right arm/shoulder. All they wanted to do was even more PT and nitro patches (not a good mix with anxiety and high BP). I found another Dr hours away and am now sitting here recovering from shoulder surgery. My labrum was torn COMPLETELY, bicep torn and coiled up in my arm, small tear in rotator cuff. That Dr diagnosed me within 10 minutes of me being in his office and performing physical exam. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone EVER.
Negative experience: super disappointed with my experience at this location. The PT I saw told me both my doctor’s diagnosis and the MRI and XRay findings were all false and he refused to treat me for my actual injury, instead focused on what he thought was wrong (even tho he didn’t listen to a word I said when I described how my injury occurred - i’m a competitive athlete and this was clearly an overuse injury.) In my second appt he was late and then 10 mins into my appt left me to “go get his other patient going”. I left in tears after my second appt, because i’m in a lot of pain and it was clear this guy had no interest in helping me. When i called to find out if could change physical therapists and/or locations, i talked to two separate receptionists and both were extremely rude to me, as if what I was asking was the craziest thing they had ever heard. Would never recommend this place to anyone.
Fantastic experience: Don’t go anywhere else! I was in pain, almost immobile for YEARS! Nobody could find anything wrong, and I felt crazy but then came Dr Hartwell and his fine staff.. I’m still grinning from ear to ear because the procedure I had done YESTERDAY still has me almost completely pain free end of day 2! It kind of feels like in Willy wonka, Charlie came home with that golden ticket, and grandpa, in bed for 20 years jumps up and starts dancing.. Dr Keith Downing did an awesome job in explaining what how and why this had to be done, felt so reassured and I was comfortable. He executed the procedure with zero casualties. I wanna shake the man’s hand again really.. still can’t believe how great these people are… also shout out to my favorite nurse Carrie It was a three hour drive, but I’d do it every day. Thank you so much guys for the game changing experience!
Fantastic experience: I recently had an extensive shoulder surgery with Dr. Emma Klosterman. The trauma was very significant. Dr Klosterman was very sensitive to all my concerns pre operative. The surgery was very long several hrs after out pt. Normally closes. Dr Klosterman and her team stuck it out and gave me there 110% . I could not be any happier. Daniel G 3-1-24
Fantastic experience: with Renita Romanski excellent care excellent direction on exercises Highly recommend!
Negative experience: I’ve gone 2 different times, was sent to PT both times, had fractures both times.
Fantastic experience: Had a 2 step knee surgery done by Dr. Bedi, which went fantastic. Sherrie worked with me for PT for almost a year. Best PT experience I’ve had. Great facility.
Negative experience: Not so happy with dr. Crawford My daughter is missing half her left leg. Missing half her ankle and 2 toes. Her leg is also 6 inches short. She has a hard time walking long distance and this dr won't give her a temporary parking pass.
Negative experience: Margaret Anne Schick, PA-C is who I saw, she doesn't care to ask about your pain, how the problem effects your life, the procedure your doctor sent you in for is not what she wants to do. She doesn't offer any support, this was a total waste of time.
Fantastic experience: Margaret is amazing and has been helping my son tremendously. She takes her time and always asks if we have anymore questions. The staff is very nice too. Highly recommend!
Negative experience: My shoulder surgery was horrendous. The surgeon under prescribe me pain medication, and I went through two months of the most traumatic pain a person could experience. Hands down the most painful, and absolutely traumatic experience of my life. I’m now seeing a therapist that’s trained, and experienced with trauma to still deal with my shoulder surgery over a year later due to Bruce Miller’s negligence. Negligence that has zero legal percussions because the medical field is protected against mental anguish- and he knew that, obviously.
Negative experience: Can't recommend this place for physical therapy. Went in for PT to help recover from a torn calf. I was sat in a dingy room that felt like an interrogation room more than a medical office, given a plastic ball to occupy me while my PT left me alone for half an hour. They came back with a deep tissue scraper to break up the scar tissue, which lasted a couple minutes. Then handed me a print-out of stretches and exercises with no in-person instruction or walkthrough of how to do them, and sent me on my way. Other than a couple minutes of tissue massage, I would have benefited more just from staying home and watching YouTube for exercises. I didn't return for any of my other appointments.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been in physical therapy here for 2 months for a knee injury an have been seeing Sara she an everyone else who has helped in my recovery has been amazing couldn’t ask for a better team Thank you all so much
Fantastic experience: It’s the most wonderful place in the world
Fantastic experience: Just went in for US & X-ray. Quick, staff seem to know what they are doing.
Fantastic experience: I went there for physical therapy for my knees twice. The first time was several years ago. It worked great. My knee pain was gone after three month of therapy and I was able to get back to sports with jumping. The second time I went there for a knee injury and torn ligaments. In two months, I was able to walk without crutches. In less than a year, my knee is almost back to before the injury. Thank the PT team - Steve, Emily, Debbie and Eric. Special thanks to Erick B Froberg who I worked with the most. He has been very encouraging and always pays attention to his patients. He listens to my problem and always comes up with new programs to make the therapy more fun. I would definitely recommend the PT at UM MedSports at Domino's Farm.
Negative experience: Hospital staff is great. Surgeon, not so much. Makes sure you're okay until he gets paid. Then, not so much.
Fantastic experience: Always treated with respect.wait time was only about 30 minutes Dr Frehill was my surgeon he did reverse shoulder surgery on both shoulders and now I live pain free full range of motion I am amazed and very satisfied with UM Clinic in Ann Arbor Michigan
Negative experience: It's run like an assembly line factory with zero quality control. They push as many patients in as they can without hiring enough staff. They skipped any strength assessment at my first eval. You get a single, rushed appointment with an actual physical therapist and otherwise you work with a PT aide or trainer who juggles 4-5 patients at once, all over the clinic, so no one observes you carry out exercises or corrects your form. The aides switch frequently between appointments so there is no consistency. When I tried to bring up concerns about making zero progress, they just kept insisting everything was part of the process and claiming that I had improved when I was still in constant pain. I would pay out of pocket to go somewhere else, this is shamefully bad for a Michigan Medicine facility.
Positive experience: Had good care here, agree with other review about the charges per exercise and charging for ice... but I believe that’s how this kind of business operates, make sure your insurance covers.
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff! I live 50 miles away and could go somewhere else but won’t
Negative experience: $63 for a bag of ice. (Like to ice your knee...its just ice in a plastic bag!!) Each time. Misleading therapists as they ask your kid if he wants to do more exercises....but don't tell you that you are being charged for every 15 mins. To boot..therapists are working multiple clients...so we waited between exercises...5 to 10 mins...even though we are charged per min. Told insurance covered brace....$850 charge. BC/BS insurance....still came out $9,000 in out of pocket bills. For 12 visits!!!!!!! They bill you for everything. For example...ask 10yr old how is leg..he says his leg is getting straighter...then they say let's put a heat pack on it. But don't tell you will be charged. $50. Oh...and tell him to sit there for 10 mins. So you are charged not just for the heat pad...but the time you sit there. $200+50. This was BASIC theraphy after a fractured kneecap!!!!! Not talking about a blown out knee. Never given any costs or estimates prior.....except told insurance covered it. WE HAVE GREAT BC/BS INSURANCE!!! I'm fighting this....these folks are taking advantage of a 10yr old injury. Bill you and then you spend hours fighting these ridiculous charges over the phone. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PLACE. THIS IS WHY EVERYONE'S PREMIUMS ARE SO HIGH. I referenced the bag of ice($63×12 visits)...but that is only one of many add-on charges. Look...I expect some costs....but come on Medsports. Shame on you.
Negative experience: Worst place ever.... Doctors treat you like if you were an object in a factory... they take you in, they send you for Xrays without even see you, like how crazy is that? These dudes are only after the money. After the Xrays and they "diagnose" you with whatever thing they decide that you have and send you to rehabilitation. They send everyone to rehabilitation without really diagnose what you have. I had a better diagnose that all those doctors... no jokes... Don't waste your time and money in this crapy place.
Fantastic experience: I have used this PT office several times over the years. I have found this office above and beyond any other PT clinic. From the AWESOME STAFF to a wide range of machines. They work with you at your level and you end much better than you started. I give them an A+ ( love my PT guy Earnie!)
Fantastic experience: The staff went out of their way to help me when I started having problems with my provider. Everyone does their job and does it well. Their communication with me was excellent and any problems I encountered were a result of my own oversight. Dr. Michael Freehill was excellent and professional. I can't believe this is only the sixth review submitted for this operation, I'm sure they have earned a lot more .
