Mt. Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Making the decision to place our mom in a nursing home was one of the hardest things our family has ever had to do. From the moment she came to Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, however, we knew she was exactly where she needed to be. Our mom has Alzheimer’s, and the kindness, patience, and genuine love shown to her by the staff mean more to us than words can express. They treat her with dignity and compassion every single day, and that has brought our family an incredible sense of peace. Because of the care she receives, my brother and I are finally able to rest knowing she is safe, comforted, and cared for around the clock by people who truly care about her well-being. That peace of mind is an immeasurable gift. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home for caring for our mom as if she were your own. We will always be grateful.
Hi Terry - Thank you very much for sharing your experience. The decision you describe is never easy, but we are grateful that you placed your trust in us. We are also very pleased that you feel that your Mom is receiving the care and attention she needs, and that you need to ease your worries. We're honored to be part of your family's journey.
Fantastic experience: As a family we would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Mt Carmel, where our mother blossomed with the love and care she received from the Nurses, LNA’s, Case/Bus Mgrs, Cooks, Aids, Housekeeping/Laundry and the fantastic Activity crew. The friends she made at Mt Carmel were paramount in keeping her spirits bright for the past five years. Humbly, thank you. The Melius Family
Hi Michelle - Thank you for sharing these meaningful words. It's an honor for everyone on our staff to have supported you mother and your family these past 5 years. We're blessed to have had her with us and we appreciate the trust you placed in us during her time here. You'll always be part of our Mt. Carmel family.
Fantastic experience: My mind is at ease that our mother is here. We feel she is safe and actually enjoys the food too. The activities are beneficial for her. The pictures from social media are accurate. Staff are conscientious in almost all cases. Staff are thorough and respectful. We like that it is Catholic and so does our mom.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful review. We're very happy your Mom feels safe and included, and that she's enjoying her meals. We also appreciate your trust and are glad to hear that her care has given you peace of mind.
Fantastic experience: I have no complaints about the 3rd floor dementia unit at Mt Carmel, where my parent is. The staff is hardworking caring and knowledgable. The downstairs staff is also incredible. Kudos!
Hi Bex, We truly appreciate your kind words. Knowing our team has made such a positive difference means so much to us - thank you!
Fantastic experience: My mother was there for rehab and recently was brought back to continue with rehab , she really liked being there her first time and is happy being back there , everyone is very accommodating especially Ryan , if any questions or concerns hes right on it , always the best interest of the resident . All that matters is my mother is happy and she is at Mt Carmel it truly is her home cant say enough about the care , we no longer have to worry about.
Hi Bonnie - thank you for these kind words and for entrusting you Mom's care with us again. It's wonderful to know your Mom feels supported and well cared for - and that you have peace of mind!
Fantastic experience: My mom is a resident of Mt Carmel at 98 years young. Our family is so appreciative of the staff and with their assistance she is now walking independently and continues to improve each day. The staff are wonderful and outreach with updates to ensure our mom is happy and adjusting well to her new home. She’s happy and feels secure, well cared for and making new friends. Thank you to all the staff at Mt Carmel. You’re just the best. Cherie Boisvert
Thank you, Cherie! We're very pleased your Mom is doing so well and feels supported and safe. We'll be sure to share your words with our entire team!
Fantastic experience: My dad got admitted in May of 2025. He loves the place, he enjoys bingo a lot.The staff is great there, and work together. He feels right at home there.
Hi Amanda - Thank you for taking time to share this. We're glad your Dad has felt well cared for and welcomed - and enjoys our activities. We're blessed to have him with us!
Fantastic experience: Our mom moved into Mt Carmel last summer. After making such a momentous and intimidating life change, I can honestly say she is happy and content and thoroughly enjoys her daily interactions with her new friends. The staff at Mt Carmel, who have also become great friends, have been overwhelmingly positive and comforting for Mom. Mom’s days are full of joy and we are all eternally grateful for the caring team at Mt Carmel.
Hi Mark - Transitions aren't always easy, but we are so pleased that your Mom is "full of joy," and happy to be with her new friends (including staff) at Mt. Carmel. Thank you for sharing this!
Fantastic experience: I am writing to Google to send a full positive recommendation for members of Mt Carmel's Rehabilitation unit. I recently spent my third "round" in 12 months at Mt Carmel. In 2025, I had two total knee replacements and an ankle reconstruction. Mt Carmel has a great 4th floor staff and a very well run facility. After being three times as a repeat customer *grin* , being on a first name basis with the staff , one gets to know everyone a bit closer yet with still maintaining a professional demeanor. My primary LNA was always smiling , very helpful, competent - a very nice person to have taken care of me. My primary medicinal RN was top notch . I observed her being extremely pleasant, very thorough, and helpful with all of the residents. I did also communicate to Catholic Charities my observations so staff would get rewarded in the ways the facility does that for exemplary performance. You have my thanks and gratitude Have at Blessed Happy Holiday season to Mt. Carmel
Hi Garry - Your comments about our staff are wonderful and we have been blessed to have you with us as a "repeat customer"! :) Thank you so much for this great review!
Fantastic experience: We could not be happier with the care my dad has received at Mt. Carmel. The building is beautiful and so comfortable. The staff are caring and always ready to help. From the day of my first tour to the daily updates I get from my dad, I am reassured we made the right decision for this stage of my dad's care.
Hi Katie - Thank you for sharing this. We're so happy to hear that your experience - and your Dad's - has been positive since day one. It's never an easy decision - but we certainly appreciate that you entrusted your Dad's care to us.
Fantastic experience: I went to visit one of the residents and was pleasantly surprised by the extreme Christmas that you had provided. She was very happy with the environment and the care she was receiving. Looking at her list of activities it seemed there was always something going on. She said the food was delicious and she enjoyed haveing people around and soon made a few friends. Her favorite was of course the chapel. Just having it so close was comforting and convenient. I would recommend Mount Carmel to anyone. What a nice place and caring staff. Thank you James
Hi Jim - Thank you for taking time to share your experience. We're so glad to hear that your visit was a positive one and that the resident you came to see feels happy, engaged and well cared for. Our culinary team works hard to provide enjoyable, nourishing food, and it's always meaningful to hear when residents are enjoying their meals. We're also pleased that our activities, sense of community and chapel are comforting and welcoming to her. Thank you for your kind recommendation!
Fantastic experience: Peace of Mind “Sometimes miracles are just good people with kind hearts” Although I am not sure who first said these words, they do accurately capture the experience our Mom has had with the Mount Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. My Mom became a resident early last summer and our family quickly witnessed the attentiveness and high standard of care of the Nursing staff. I am currently living outside of the United States and fortunately my Mom is just tech savvy enough to be able to handle FaceTime visits. Even though these daily visits occur remotely, they very much capture the spur of the moment, in real time, interactions she has with various staff members coming in and out of her room. A consistent tone of kindness easily comes across during these virtual visits. She and I have spoken about it with appreciation many a time. Whether it is someone seeing that she is cold and offering to bring her a hot cup of tea, another checking on the thermostat situation in her room to make sure it is indeed set warm enough, Rivier College Nursing Students generating ideas of special tasks or projects with which they might be able to help her, middle of the night assistance with safely getting to the bathroom and back to bed, fun and thoughtful holiday inspired goodies and arts and crafts offered by the Activities staff, Communion brought into her room by a Sister, or just a gentle nudge to occasionally attend the daily mass in person, she is always treated with respect and dignity. While my Mom references certain names in particular for going above and beyond (Pam, Kerry, Lindsay, Ramona, and Jen), there are clearly many more behind the scenes contributing to her wellbeing on a daily basis. Just a few days ago, My Mom and I were discussing that the spirit of kindness and helpfulness of the staff is surely a reflection of the tone and standard set by those in charge. The 2nd Floor Unit Manager Danielle Labrie is the type of leader who operates consistently in an effective, efficient and kind manner. That sets an ideal example of what is possible and everyone elevates their own standard accordingly. I observed that in person last summer in my interactions with members of the Nursing Care Coordination Team, and I continue to hear the very same takeaways about the staff from my brothers who live locally. My family and I are sincerely grateful for the special environment the Mount Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Center offers all of its residents. The peace of mind given to us by the “miracles of good people with kind hearts” is not taken for granted. Maria DesGrosseilliers Wilson and Family
Hi Maria - We can't thank you enough for this beautiful review. We are so happy to have your Mom with us and to have you recognize so many of our staff and the compassionate care they bring each day is truly wonderful. That you can enjoy some peace of mind from a distance is also special - we cherish having all of you in our Mt. Carmel family and appreciate your trust. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: My Mom has been at Mt Carmel for a few months. We couldn’t be happier with the care she has received. The staff has been incredible.
Hi Tim - thank you for sharing this! Knowing our team is making your Mom feel supported and cared for means a lot - we're grateful for your trust.
Fantastic experience: Our family couldn't be happier with the care our mother is receiving at Mount Carmel Nursing and Rehab Center. It has been such a huge relief for us to know that she is in a safe, secure, and caring environment. One of the things she loves most is the fantastic variety of activities available; there is always something engaging for her to do! What we appreciate most, however, is how the staff treats her. Even though she is still quite independent, the team here truly acknowledges and respects that. They encourage her autonomy while providing the support she needs, which has done wonders for her confidence and happiness. If you are looking for a place where your loved one will be treated with dignity and kept active, I highly recommend Mount Carmel!" Jacqui McGettigan
Hi Jacqui - Thank you for this great review and for sharing your family's experience. We're so glad that your mom feels safe, supported, and encouraged to remain independent - and it's wonderful to read how happy and confident she is! Your trust is truly appreciated. Happy New Year!
Fantastic experience: I want to express my sincere appreciation for the wonderful people working at Mount Carmel. Making the decision to place a loved one in a nursing home is an excruciatingly painful experience, and it means a lot to find a nearby place that can provide reliable 24-hour care. Mount Carmel feels less like a facility and more like a home. It’s beautifully decorated and offers welcoming spaces, including a bistro for a “restaurant” experience, several TV and living areas, and family-style meals. Families can visit both during the day and at night, and staff consistently attend to residents’ needs while maintaining dignity. Activities also help residents stay engaged and build friendships. When you begin searching for a nursing home, you always hope for the best. At Mount Carmel, we found more than that—we found peace of mind. Thank you to the staff at Mount Carmel. We appreciate you from the bottom of our hearts.
Hi Liane, We're deeply grateful for your kind words and for the trust you've placed in our team. It means everything to all of us at Mt. Carmel to know that the care we deliver has brought comfort, dignity and peace of mind during such a challenging time. We'll be sure to share your appreciation with our entire staff, who are honored to care for your loved one each day.
Fantastic experience: Mt Carmel has recently been remodeled and now feels like your best friends home. It is currently decorated for the Christmas season and just feels like a warm hug when you enter. My Dad is thriving since he has become a resident. Therapy is keeping him mobile and the staff is very attentive to all of his needs. A phone call to or from us is never a bother and is done with kindness and thought for our piece of mind. They have an on-site chapel, community living room for lots of social interaction, family style meals, and many activities to keep him engaged. There is even a cafe to have an informal lunch with Dad and a sitting area available with an electric fireplace to enjoy our visits. Making this decision was very hard and we checked many places before we chose Mt Carmel and we feel we have made the perfect choice for care.
Hi Paula - Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review. We know how difficult this decision can be, and it is means so much that your dad is thriving, and that your family feels welcomed, supported. and at ease. Creating a place that feels like home - for both residents and families - is exactly what we strive for!
Fantastic experience: Moving your loved one into a nursing home is not an easy feat and my family and I were highly selective in choosing Mom's new home. However, from Day One, every member of the Nursing Home staff made the move-in process so easy for us. The general atmosphere was positive and supportive. This includes members of all teams; such as Administration, Finance, Activities, Kitchen, Cleaning, Maintenance and the special Nurses and Assistants. The most important thing to me with this move is that Mom is happy where she is living and how she is being cared for. I have to say that I never thought moving Mom into a nursing home would go so smoothly. She is so happy to be taken care of, getting so much attention and making so many new friends. The community room each floor has allows the residents to meet together and feel like a family. They also host entertainment, whether it is a music guest or the Activities Team coordinating games or other activities. My Mom lives on the Memory Care floor and the security was important. There has never been an instant that we needed to worry, as the staff has this under full control. Nourishment is also very important and Mt. Carmel's staff cares enough to include residents as part of their Nourishment Committee. I am very comfortable leaving Mom in the care of Mt. Carmel's staff. Attached is a picture of Mom on her birthday and preparing for the Halloween event at Mt Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Hi Valerie, Thank you so much for sharing your family's experience - love the photos of your mom!! We know how meaningful it is to feel confident and at peace with such an important transition, and seeing her happy, engaged and feeling at home at Mt. Carmel means everything to us. Our entire team will be so pleased to read your kind words!
Fantastic experience: My grandmother has been on their rehabilitation unit since early October, looks amazing, and is ready to come home at the end of this week. Everyone on her care team has made her feel comfortable and dignified, something that many of us take for granted. Thank you to every single person that has taken care of her and keeping her (and myself) in the loop. From LNAs to Nurse's, from the kitchen staff to the administration team (especially Ryan N.), thank you all. Because of her positive experience here, my grandmother has chosen this for her long-term care, should she need so in the future. BEST wishes to everyone on this difficult journey!
Hi Rebecca - Best wishes to you and thank you very much for sharing your grandmother's experience - it's been a pleasure to see her make such positive progress during her stay with us. Your gratitude toward our entire staff is truly appreciated and we're honored by the trust she's placed in us for any future care.
Fantastic experience: My husband has been a patient at My. Carmel Rehabilitation Center three times due to a recurring illness. Each time he has received professional and caring attention. This was our first experience with a rehabilitation center and I was very apprehensive. It was all put to rest when we experienced the wonderful welcome and reassurance of personalized care he would receive. The staff is dedicated and truly a blessing. They are the heart of Mt. Carmel. Thank you all for everything you did for my husband. Janis H Tunstall
Hi Janis, Thank you sharing your husband's story. We know how stressful it can be to navigate repeat illnesses and rehab stays, and we're grateful for your trust each time. It is a blessing for us, and an honor to be part of his healing process.
Fantastic experience: I've known about Mt. Carmel for a long time because several aunts, uncles and my dad all did rehab here. It was my one & only choice for rehab because of that and I'm thrilled at the care, compassion, gentle but also tough love physical therapy (a super wonderful trait to help patients see the light at the end of their tunnel). Staff members are incredible! Gentle as needed, also mildly tough that motivates. Knowledgeable, happy, smiling and Super Accommodating as needed. BEST PLACE EVER RYAN! Thank you! ❤️
Thank you, Therese, for your heartfelt words and for trusting us again after so many family members have experienced Mt. Carmel. Your praise for our therapy team and how they help motivate you means so much - as do your kind compliments of our entire team - including Ryan! Thank you again!
Fantastic experience: My MIL has moved into this facility recently and she raves about her experience daily. Ryan was a pleasure to work with as we made plans to have her join the community. They have been compassionate, thorough, and enthusiastic about meeting her needs, her challenges and her end-of-life care. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for care for their family.
Hi Molly, We're grateful you took the time to share your mother-in-law's experience. Hearing she's feeling compassionately cared for each day is what we strive for. Ryan and our entire team appreciate your trust and it's an honor to support her needs. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: We were accepted. In a very timely manner, this place is absolutely fabulous. The food is good.It is clean like you wouldn't believe the staff are friendly and extremely efficient and health-conscious.We could not be more happy.Okay , so then what do I do
Hi Kitty, Thank you very much for this review! We're delighted that your experience has been so positive - it means a lot to know you feel welcomed and well-supported here. It is our pleasure indeed!
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff nurses in Alaina‘s very home like atmosphere always always working to make sure everybody’s comfortable and happy!!!
Hi Kelly - thank you for your kind words and for recognizing the welcoming and caring environment our team works hard to create. Your appreciation and feedback means a lot to all of us!
Fantastic experience: My dad is at this nursing home and all I can say is what the residents staff and clergy have brought to my life is simply amazing. My Dad has been taking care of by some pretty special people. They always make me feel welcome. I love Fr. Roland, Cote who knows everyone by name. He also does a tailored to Mount Carmel mass. The activities are always fun. I love to participate in the singing with Brandon on the second floor. I also enjoy popcorn and watching a movie with all the residence including my Dad it makes him very happy. I want to thank everyone for taking such good care of my dad and all the residents at Mount Carmel. People will sometimes forget what you say, but they’ll never forget how you make them feel and I always feel welcomed when I go to visit my Dad at Mount Carmel. Keep up the great work, Steve Labbe.
Thank you, Steve, for your thoughtful words, your special photos and your presence in our home in support of your dad. We're so grateful for your kind appreciation of our team, activities and community, and it means so much to know that both you and your father feel welcome and cared for at Mt. Carmel. We'll be sure to share your message with our staff, Fr. Roland, and Brandon - thank you again!
Fantastic experience: My mother was a resident for over a year. The care she received was excellent. The staff was so caring and cared for my mother as if she was their family member. When my mother was passing, the compassion and care that was shown went above and beyond. Mount Carmel is by far the best nursing home to take care of your family member.
Fantastic experience: Mount Carmel is an amazing place. They have a resident focused mission and are very customer service oriented. My mother spent 8 years in the facility and, although she was sad to be there, she was always treated with respect and dignity. Thank you to the team at Mount Carmel.
Hi John - Thank you so much for your kind words. We're honored to have cared for your mother, and we're grateful to know that our team's dedication and care made a difference. It's what we strive for every day - we'll be sure to share your message with our entire staff.
Negative experience: I just called Floor 3 in Mt Carmel Rehab and Nursing Home in Manchester NH The nurse had extremely poor communication skills and did not even say hold on, let me check about the patient I was calling about. He just started talking to someone else and hung up on me. That is indication to me what kind of potocol this business operates with. It is pretty daunting to know that this is the calibur of care my very dear fruend is getting from recovering from a massive stroke. God help us all
Thank you for your message. Clear and respectful communication is important to us and what you shared is not how we aim to support our patients and residents or their loved ones.
We’ve looked into this and haven’t been able to match the details to any recent call or patient in our care, but we’d appreciate the opportunity to learn more and help clarify the situation. Please feel free to contact us at 603-935-4600 at a time that is convenient for you. Thank you again for reaching out with your concern.
Negative experience: The rehab program at this facility was the only consistently positive experience during my mother’s 21-day stay. The therapists were excellent, and the care provided during the actual rehab sessions was strong. Unfortunately, nearly every other aspect of her stay was deeply disappointing. My mother, who is completely blind, was often left without basic support or dignity. Staff regularly dropped off her food without telling her it had arrived, and even when they did, they failed to describe where the items were on her tray — something as simple as saying “potatoes at 12 o’clock” could have made a huge difference. She was frequently given food she hadn’t chosen, and often it was already cold by the time it reached her. More distressing, however, were the hygiene issues. On several occasions, my mother was left in soiled pullups for hours. I raised these concerns with management, only to be told they had a lot of agency staff who weren’t trained by the facility. That is not a valid excuse when you are responsible for vulnerable patients. Despite sharing my concerns repeatedly in weekly updates, nothing improved over the 21 days. Communication was poor, the nursing staff appeared inadequately trained for rehab care, and basic compassion was often lacking. We chose this facility based on its availability, private rooms, and moderately positive online reviews — but sadly, our experience did not reflect the image presented online. It was an unnerving and frustrating stay, and we will not be returning. I would strongly urge others to consider other options before placing a loved one here.
Dear Mike,
Thank you for sharing your experience. While we’re glad to hear your mother received strong support from our rehabilitation team, the issues you described, particularly around communication, personal care and support for a patient with vision loss, are concerning and not reflective of the standards we strive to uphold.
Though some of your concerns were addressed during your mother’s stay, we regret that that the overall experience still fell short. Please know that your feedback is being taken seriously and is informing our efforts to strengthen the care we deliver.
We welcome the opportunity to continue the conversation – please feel free to contact us at 603-627-3811. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
Fantastic experience: Great experience, staff was excellent! Thank you.
Thank you very much, Frank - appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and happy we were able to serve your needs!
Fantastic experience: My 96 year old mother was fortunate enough to become a resident at Mt. Carmel right after this past Christmas. My siblings and I had been trying to convince her for years that continuing to live alone in her apartment was not safe for her anymore. Mt. Carmel was the only facility that she would even consider. All of the staff members have gone above and beyond to make sure all her needs are met and that she is comfortable. They have helped with her adjustment by encouraging her to engage in group activities while respecting her need for time alone. As soon as I walked in the door I was impressed - it is clean and cheerfully decorated. I appreciate the open lines of communication from the nurses regarding updates about her care. My mother loves the fact that she can attend daily Mass and I know she will love their beautiful garden now that the weather is warmer. A special thank you to nurses Danielle and Jen and to Alex in Maintenance - you are amazing and are very much appreciated.
Hi MaryAnne - Thank you so much for sharing this heartfelt and thoughtful review! We're honored that your mom chose to make Mt. Carmel her new home and we're very happy to hear that she's feeling comfortable, supported and spiritually fulfilled. It's also wonderful to know that our team has made such a meaningful impact. We truly value your trust and are grateful to have your family as part of our Mt. Carmel community!
Fantastic experience: My mother got excellent care on the memory care floor. All the staff care about the patients. They never make you feel unwelcomed as visitors. We felt the facility was comfortable for the residents. It was always very clean as well. If any of the staff who cared for my mom are reading this, thank you!!
Hi Jeremy,
Thank you very much for the kind words. It was our honor to care for your mother during her stay with us.
Fantastic experience: I found all the nurses and assistants to be genuinely caring and attentive.Ive only been here2 weeks but I highly recommend it. I have absolutely nothing negative to say
Fantastic experience: My 91 year-old mother is currently getting excellent care at Mt. Carmel. The nursing staff, specifically Stephanie, Jean and Danielle, are attentive, caring and highly-responsive. They communicate regularly with my sisters and me regarding my mom's care and condition and make time whenever we have questions to ask or input to share.
Positive experience: My 94 year old grandmother needed to go to a rehab after having covid and a UTI. She needed help to build up her strength again. My grandmother said the nurses were really nice and she received good care. Her only bad review was that the food was horrible. It just wasn’t what she liked. As family, our issue was the lack of communication - a number of times asking for someone to reach out to us ( no one ever did) when we asked the nurses anything - we always got - “I am new on this floor” or “I haven’t worked with your grandmother yet”. The only time someone reached out is when they needed paperwork filled out (for billing) We had to request a meeting, which we got 8 days after her being there. She was there for a total of 10 days. While there my grandmother ended up getting the stomach flu, not even 2 days after being there - we (her family) got it too because , no one told us she had it and no precautions on the door. And the day before she left we( her family) walked into her room to find her not there anymore (all her stuff gone) and it was her roommate that told us that my grandmother was moved because she (the roommate had covid) again no precautions on the door. So, I would give 4 stars for the way the nurses/LNA’s took good care of my gram - especially since she had a horrible experience at a different rehab a few years back. But would give 1 star when it comes to the way the Administration communicates with family.
Dear Melissa, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re pleased that your grandmother received quality nursing care but sorry to hear that your experience fell short of expectations with regards to food quality and communication. We take these concerns very seriously and are actively working on ways to improve in these areas.
To that end, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experiences further – please don’t hesitate to reach out at 603-627-3811.
Fantastic experience: My elderly aunt was recently at Mt Carmel for care and eventually end of life care. The staff took such good care of her in her final days and this gave us/family great comfort to know she was well cared for.
Fantastic experience: We are so thrilled that My mother-in-law is part of the Mount Carmel family. She is living In the memory care unit and we are so touched by all the love she receives from the staff. Ruth is phenomenal! Thank you for treating her like family
Fantastic experience: Sheri sanfaron was outstanding, went out of her way to help me & made me feel at ease!!!
Negative experience: Has bed bugs
Fantastic experience: As someone who did thorough research in finding the best possible rehab facility for my mom, I know how important Google reviews can be. So, I felt compelled to write this glowing review after my Mom’s 7 week stay at Mt Carmel after a debilitating car accident. Everyone, from the rehab staff to the nurses, was so fantastic, so encouraging, so motivating, with getting my Mom to a place where she could return to her home. The facility is clean and welcoming. I would not hesitate to recommend Mt Carmel to someone looking for a rehab facility in the Southern NH area!
Fantastic experience: After spending 36 days here at Mount Carmel Rehab and being able to go back to my own home on Saturday, it is my pleasure to give my review of this facility. I can’t begin to say enough about my PT and OT from rehab. The professional knowledge that each of the staff has given me has been over the top. With being on oxygen 24 hours a day I’ve been trained on improving my breathing skills, pacing oneself, using a Rollator, use of all types of aids, grabber, shoe funnel, sock aid, etc. how to handle daily activities at home without desaturating my oxygen levels. Kudos to Sarah, rehab manager, and your wonderful staff. I’m afraid to list them by name as I might leave someone off. I also want to say that all the LNA’s, RNs, housekeeping, etc. are in tune with all the patient’s needs. Mount Carmel is blessed to have this great caring team. Many Thanks, Karen Trickett
Fantastic experience: I am impressed with the welcoming attitude of all employees, and residents. As a senior citizen myself, I would evaluate it as a "home away from home", whether temporary or long term. I believe it sets a standard for other similar facilities to follow.
Alice, thank you so much for the rating and review!
Fantastic experience: Mount Carmel has shown remarkable resilience in their ability to provide safe, effective, equitable, and patient-centered care. The pandemic shook the timbers in all aspects of healthcare, but MTC remained steadfast in their mission to provide the best care possible for all. Hats off to Rachel, Joe, and all the staff at MTC. They rock.
Fantastic experience: Mount Carmel provides the best care possible for all their residents. It's home for many. God bless!
Fantastic experience: Mt. Carmel is the best home where everyone experiences love and care!
Fantastic experience: Clean facility, helpful staff, always meet the customers needs! Whether it’s a transition to long term care, memory care, or a short-term patient who is needing help making a safe transition to home.
Fantastic experience: My mother has been a resident on the 3rd floor for four years.the staff is extremely dedicated and provide excellent care.
Thank you for the rating!
Fantastic experience: Clean facility, helpful staff, always meet the customers needs! Whether it’s a transition to long term care, memory care, or a short-term patient who is needing help making a safe transition to home.
Fantastic experience: My mother has been at Mt Carmel for 3 years. She is on the memory care unit and our experience has been wonderful. I am thankful for the caring staff, the activities, and the kind supportive care my mother receives there. During COVID, nursing care is suddenly on the front line - an airborne disease and a vulnerable population- and they have done an excellent job with the numerous complex problems that have been a part of the last 2 years. I am so thankful my mother is at Mount Carmel because I trust them 100%, which is crucial during this time.
Negative experience: This place has gone down the tube! So sad!!
Fantastic experience: My mom stayed at Mt Carmel for 2 weeks after a hospital stay. She needed Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Nursing care. She was very happy there and felt comfortable, cared for, and safe. I felt very relieved knowing she was in such good hands. Their Covid-19 protocols are top notch, which means they are doing everything they can to keep the residents and staff safe. I appreciated the thorough screening process prior to each visit and respected every effort made to protect the Mt. Carmel environment. Joe, the Administrator, personally greeted my mother upon admission and that just solidified for us that everyone cares - it starts at the top! All of the staff are friendly and welcoming - from the lobby staff, the cleaning staff, the laundry folks, the chef, the specialists, the nurses, the residents - EVERYONE was delightful! If you find yourself in a situation where a loved-one needs special care, be sure to look into Mt Carmel - you will be very impressed with this gem of a facility. They are hard to come by for sure. THANK YOU Mt Carmel!
Howdy Elizabeth! Thank you for the amazing review, and we are thrilled to hear that you and your mother had such a positive experience with us.
Fantastic experience: I love this place the staff is so helpful
Fantastic experience: My mother was blessed to spend a little over a year at Mt. Carmel. The staff is outstanding, genuinely caring. Absolutely everyone, activities staff, secretaries, culinary, custodial, etc. know the residents by name. They say hello, ask how they are feeling, complement them. The activities are amazing and the staff involvement is incredible. The cafe is very inviting and you can't help but enjoy the music that is from their era but I grew up with too. I love listening to it. The dining on each floor caters to each person's needs. It's great. My mother called it home. Which was something we never thought would happen. She was never very social but became close to the people she ate with daily. Which is something she never had living alone. When my mom was dying my family realized how much the staff was a part of our family, they knew us, they took care of our needs, but most of all, we couldn't have taken better care of my mom than they did and for that we will be eternally grateful.
Fantastic experience: One of the premier Rehab and Nursing facilities in the greater Manchester area. The facility is up to date and very clean. The staff is always pleasant and very attentive to the patient's needs and keeps the family informed. There are plenty of activities for those who wish to socialize and be busy; yet, there is no pressure on the patients to participate if they prefer not to. I would highly recommend that if you foresee your family needing the services of such a facility in the near future for a loved one that you schedule a visit and discuss your particular needs and expectations with the staff. I am certain you will be well received.
Fantastic experience: Mum moved here as she ran out of the money to pay for care at Nashua Crossings....while Crossings was great, it was highly expensive for the level of care Mum required...advanced Alzheimers and dementia... I was highly apprehensive about a lower cost alternative, having visited some I would never leave an animal at. I was wrong about Carmel. As others have noted, clean, caring and generally a kind attitude among the staff. Mum lasted another 3 months here and began to refuse food. Taking a last bit of control of a situation that had long been out of hand...the staff at Carmel were wonderful to Mum, always. Were extremely empathetic with my Sister, who was the person making actual decisions. When I went back and helped settle affairs, I met Mum's friend Beauty, I believe...a nurse with a similar accent who had befriended Mum in her time there. A wonderful nurse and a fantastic human being. I can;t thank her, and the rest of the staff at Carmel enough. An impossible task, handled with dignity and compassion. 10 Stars....
Fantastic experience: From my point of view, Mt Carmel saved my mother's life. In her early nineties, living by herself, she had declined mentally and physically, and we feared for her safety. Her doctors advised she be admitted to a home. My sister had already visited a number of southern NH rehabs, and was convinced that Mt Carmel offered the best services. Luckily a room opened up, and she was admitted. Since that time both my mother's health and quality of life have improved dramatically. Physical assistance, medical attention, regular meds and meals have restored some of her vigor. With a quiet single room she is able to enjoy her privacy, while at the same time participating in a number of social events. She just turned 93, and when family visited her during Christmas, everyone commented on how healthy she seemed. My sister and I have found the staff to be responsive to requests and communicative about any issues. The environment is both clean and safe. Visitor services on the first floor are very welcoming. I'll always remember the day the ambulance brought my mother to Mt Carmel. I was apprehensive, but the ambulance driver looked at me and said "Listen. I've seen all the nursing homes in the area, and I know what they're like. If I had to place my own mother, trust me, I'd come here. This is the best."
Fantastic experience: Smart and helpful employees. Long story short I don’t stay here or have family that stays here but the front desk lady and a nurse (not using names for privacy :/ ) helped me out tremendously. They definitely didn’t have to especially when it seemed like I was becoming a nuisance. I owe the two ladies and the gentleman gratitude and probably dunking donuts gift cards. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: I rank Mount Carmel as being the very best facility in the Manchester, NH area - caring, compassionate staff with excellent communication skills, and a social services team that provides excellent guidance. There is a very involved activities team to ensure socialization with a wide variety of activities. On site church, cafe, large well-equipped PT/OT room, secure memory care floor, and plentiful common areas with TV's, magazines, board games, cards and etc. round out this excellent facility.
Fantastic experience: Amazing Caring Staff
