Fantastic experience: A couple of weeks ago my mother-in-law was admitted to Manchester Manor for rehab to recover from pneumonia and some other issues. The staff has been excellent in their care, from the aides and maintenance people to the nurses and doctors. When they are extremely busy and cannot provide some normal service, they apologize and do their best to make up for the inconvenience.

Fantastic experience: I came today to visit a close friend. She is comfortable and receiving the physical therapy she needs. She is visibly better and pleased to be making progress. The staff members are friendly and smile and happy to help when I asked for something she requested. . Thank you.

Fantastic experience: If I could give 100 starts I would. My mother came to vist me here in CT from NJ August 8th. After a fall hours after arriving resulted in a hip fracture. With surgery completed, and near the end of her hospital stay at a local hospital, I knew my mother would require rehab placement. I began my search for one in my local Manchester area. After reading incredible reviews, I set my sight on Manchester Rehabilitation Center and it was my only choice. With little assistance from the local area hospital Case Mgt staff and being advised my mother could not rehab here, that didn't stop me and I didn't accept NO for an answer. I made a vist on my own. I was greeted with a smile at the front desk, and the young lady point me in the direction of the Admissions office. Again, greeted with a smile which I despartely needed at that time from the Admissions Director Mrs. Deborah Abankwa. She was the game changer. She went above and beyond to help after being told by the hospital staff no help was available. What needed to be done was a difficult and daunting task. She then called in the Administrator Mrs. Dalia Alberti. They both took on getting my mother accecpted into the facility which was not easy with my mothers insurance coverage from NJ. While there in the facility for 30 days, my mother made friends, joined in activies, ate well (my mother said the food was delicious)and she enjoyed her stay. Every staff member from the Nursing Dept (staff and agency), Dietary, Case Mgt, housekeeping, PT & OT were all EXCEPTIONAL and accomodating and I was ALWAYS greeted with a smile. There are so many amazing people, I don't want to list, for fear I may forget to add someone. Paige was awesome with assiting in setting up home care for my mother and following through to make sure everything was completed and accurate. As of date, my mother is thriving and is just about 85% back to her normal self in walking. With this amazing staff, they are all only as good as their leader. This great group of staff persons have a kind, compassionate and thoughtful leader! THANK YOU MRS. DALIA for your standards the staff is held too. Fantastic experience: My father was in Manchester Manor for almost a month. It was his first time being in short term rehab. It was the best experience he could have ever had. I’m so glad we picked Manchester Manor. The staff was always respectful, pleasant, and generous with my father. They brought a smile to his face during a tough time. Every department who interacted with him went above and beyond. Thank you so much for helping our family feel welcomed and taken care of. -Lisa Bouchard

Fantastic experience: My mother was admitted to Manchester Rehabilitation after a fall and passed away several weeks after being admitted. The entire staff we experienced were kind, supportive and loving to my mother. It was an extremely difficult time for our family but made substantially easier because of the wonderful staff--from kind staff members delivering food (and asking what my mother liked--taking notes on what we said), to staff members smiling at you and saying good morning as you walked the halls--knowing every family member is dealing with difficulties, to APRNs responding compassionately to our request for additional pain medication, to attending staff (especially Michelle--my mom was in the West Wing...room 2025) who would tell my mother she loved her and that they were twins! Brought a smile to my mother every time. The administration was attentive and suggested hospice--something we frankly didn't even consider but which was the right call in retrospect. A social worker Paige was particularly wonderful. I am so appreciative to the entire staff and highly recommend Manchester Rehab...so thankful that my mother's last days were with a supportive staff.

Negative experience: This place is absolutely the worst my father in law has been here for over 45 days in the short term area where he was doing well he since was moved to the long term side and since then has gone down hill lack of care lack of communication with staff and directors we have been informed that he is in need of 24/7 care with very few details getting answers here is impossible. Now the have set him up for discharge on the week of thanksgiving giving our family no time to prepare Our home health services can not get a live in on such short notice We have been informed the fee is 450 per day past Nov 30 Absolutely disgusting the old out in corner to die these people should be asked to call themselves nurses or aids or directors of such a place. Never bring you loved ones here ever !!! Zero stars

Fantastic experience: My mom was here (Virginia Burby) annd after passing away a couple years from Covd , I can honestly say that her Nurses were the best & her CNA’s (Alex ), and the other CNA”s were absolutely wonderful. The Staff were great, patient ,compassionate & understanding ❣️

Positive experience: While my father in law seemed to get good enough care we will never be sure as there is absolutely no communication at this facility. Not only do they not communicate with the family, they don’t communicate between themselves. No one seems to know what is going on. Waited to 2 1/2 weeks just to get a meeting to find out what their plan of care was. How do you not have a plan to share from the beginning Discharge day now we couldn’t go to his room??? They will discharge him in the main entrance??? Seems like HIPPA laws aren’t being followed when anyone walking by can hear all his medical issues. I would not recommend this place if you are like us and want to know what is going on with your loved ones care.
