Manchester VA Medical Center

Negative experience: They tell you to submit your medication refills at least 15 days in advance now. My fathers heart medication was submitted 20 day in advance. we could see the fill date, but then it changed to 5 days later. The estimated delivery date was 13 days after my dad ran out of medication. When my mom called the pharmacy they accused us of abusing his 1 a day heart medication. Luckily his pcp from Dartmouth Hitchcock was able to write a prescription and cover the gap. If your parents use the VA, make sure they also have medicade coverage. This place could have killed my dad.

Negative experience: I'm no longer receiving my medications on time. I consistently run short. The patient advocates are worthless and ineffective.

Negative experience: Three words can describe the staff here: Lazy. Inept. Incompetent. If you can use any other VA facility you should because these clowns are the absolute worst in the entire country. I cannot stress enough how terrible the staff here are. They are lazy and do not ever follow through on what they say they will. Then they'll give you attitude for their incompetence. Just awful. AWFUL. AWFUL! They need a good audit and overhaul because good lord they cannot sustain themselves operating so poorly.

Fantastic experience: For the most part, people are very friendly there

Negative experience: Stay far far FAR away from these clowns. I was ignored by my primary care team for over 3 weeks after my doctor no-showed my appointment, then the terrible patient advocate office also never followed up. I cannot stress enough how terrible this facility is even compared to other VAs up and down the east coast. They desperately need a congressional inquiry undertaken on them because not one employee there deserves to keep their job. Awful AWFUL place.

Negative experience: Horrible released all of medical records to a insurance company out of Florida without my knowledge or consent, after 2 days of phone calls I was offered to "talk to a social worker". The VA system is broken i have no faith left...Zero.

Fantastic experience: I was expecting this facility to be not as good as Boston, where I'm originally from, seeing that it has less of a budget; however, I was wrong. Primary care is ok, but the specialty care is amazing, especially the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) division. I couldn't be happier with them. They are super responsive, understanding, and caring. Dental is top-notch, too. Manchester may be small in terms of hospitals, considering the VA, but they have big hearts to serve their veterans.

Fantastic experience: Great care at my appointment today with staff around the hospital willing to assist and provide information or assistance. Understanding where to park and navigating to the different clinic areas was challenging and a lot of walking but the helpful staff made a positive difference.

Fantastic experience: So far, this is the best VA I've used. I've used the VA is Orlando, Walla Walla, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Boston and Los Angeles.

Positive experience: I'm not too sure how to exactly rate this place. I've been going there for almost 20 yrs and I have my fair share of terrible doctors and a hand few of good ones. They seem to only really care about getting you in and then out fast. They don't really care about the patient only getting to the end of their day and going home. It's the main reason I see a doctor outside the VA.

I am Glad she is hanging around providing great care for Veterans and I hope she continues stays on staff for many years for a rewarding career, even if the “rewarding” is in nothing else besides knowing she is caring for Veterans…very greatful. Negative experience: Lied in my medical records in order to deny pain medications, lowering my disability rate (I'm an Old White Male just sayin...) Now I can't get in touch with them to delay my hearing! DAV doesn't answer calls Or Return them! Horrendous Top to Bottom!!!!!

Negative experience: I called Tuesday early afternoon to speak with anyone on my medical team. They said no one was available so they transferred me to In Community Care where I had to leave a voice message, after having left one last week with no call back. I called back to once again try to reach my team, and only getting transferred the 24 hr customer service line that was willing to leave a note for the team.

Fantastic experience: Such a Great place, Friendly,& accommodating! They offer a bus to go down to the other VA in Jamaica plains,Mass. My son & I thank everyone for their service & dedication to our country

Negative experience: If I could give negative stars I absolutely would. This is, hands down, the WORST VA hospital in the entire country. The staff are lazy, incompetent, and rude. Fantastic experience: So this is not my regular VAMC. I have been business travel in the area and I have used a few of the clinics and had amazing courteous and professional treatment from the staff. They have even made accommodations to get me in a on a couple of appointments to see providers in dental, optometry and filled any refills I needed on a temp basis. This is an awesome facility and the epitomy of how all VAMC’s should be!!!

Fantastic experience: This is a great VA. Moved here from florida last Oct. and can't say enough about the great care here. Had appts before I even moved here. DAV is on point. Had surgery and follow up care is fantastic. Surgery at Vermont va. Love you guys and gals.

Fantastic experience: My husband was seviced by the VA in Manchester through the last year and a half of his life. He experienced excellent care from the care providers in Manchester and the VA system in general. My husband was seen at Dana Farber and Brigham and Women's Hospital multiple times with no cost to us. The support did not stop with his death. The VA provided financial support for burial and ceremonial costs in addition to providing my husband with a beautiful military marker for his grave. We cannot thank the VA system enough for its continuous support and financial relief during a very long, difficult, and emotionally draining time in our lives. Jean Dyer

Fantastic experience: It looks like I'm going to have to write several of these, to make up for my years of negligence. I'ad just assumed that a governmental agency didn't have this available, even on almighty Google! I've read and heard many horrible things about Veterans Affairs, and I'ave experienced the entire spectrum of experiences with the Manchester Veterans Affairs, including a horror show of which I'll happily share my experience. But all in all, they've taken extraordinarily good care of me, and my overwhelming feeling is one of gratitude. I'll detail my experiences over several posts, but will stand on this overview for now, for I work nights and sleep days.

Fantastic experience: Had my first primary care appointment here recently. Was treated throughout the process with respect and professionalism. Every interaction with staff members was fantastic. Left there believing that using the VA for my health care needs might be the best decision I could have made.

Fantastic experience: Impressive, within a week of submitting the online VA Care online application, my initial appointment with a Primary Doctor was set up, approval to receive benefits was completed with contact from the VA, initial appointment was completed, initial lab work was scheduled and completed, Pharmacy order was made, completed and picked up along with a photo for my VA ID card and an appointment scheduled with a specialist. All within one visit amazing service, great work everyone!

Negative experience: Horrible DAV told me they were going to pick me up for my appointment which I can't miss my monthly injections or I get withdrawals and sickness was waiting outside and even missed a full day of classes they expect so much responsibility from us to meet there ride requirements but anytime can cancel and leave us in a dir predicament medically and think it's as easy to reschedule I'm so sick off the lack of human compassion at the VA , went in also for help to urgent care every nurse behind the desk had something negative and bad to say about me when I went for help I'm the one who served and seemed help you don't like to work and help certain situations quit your jobs it shows alot who the va hires to work in there va medical center civilians and they are all mostly clueless now to get to my appointment 200 Uber and I ignored the ignorant nurses at urgent care and changed my life around and living am amazing life I can't wait one more week till I get my license back after 12 years and I get to drive my new BMW thanks to my hardwork in RECOVERY the negative treatment I got from the nurses that day gave me motivation to be a great compassionate human being and remind myself to never treat others like this VA does !

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to a few VA centers, this is by FAR the best. It’s run semi-commercially as far operations go; smooth and with intended purpose. There is also a level of concern & a desire to be helpful from everyone I’ve run into (including volunteers, they’re so sweet & kind). Not a bunch of whiney victims that, sadly, some other locations have employed. If you come here & don’t have perspective, don’t leave negative feedback solely because you didn’t get what you want. After reading a handful of the other reviews / comments, some of you sound pathetic and ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: I’ve put off seeing a doctor for several years. Richard, in the Eligibility office was understanding and quickly helped get me back on track. He was compassionate and reassuring and takes genuine pride in his work there. I just wanted to say, thanks again for the positive experience!

Fantastic experience: So far I’ve had great experiences. I transferred care from San Diego. They have been friendly and all my appointments have been in and out. All of my referrals have been scheduled timely, even one that was referred out in the community to core physicians. I appreciate their time and dedication to veterans. Fantastic experience: I attended the Covid-19 Sunday 14th clinic. I was #274. It was cold outside took an hour, but after we were inside, we moved thru the building and had received our Moderns shot . 2nd dose scheduled March 14, 1:15pm. Great job by all the excellent VA staff.

Fantastic experience: The Manchester VA Medical Center must have several unique identifiers across Google. Google keeps asking me to review the place with a slightly modified name. The Manchester VA Medical Center is the center of New Hampshire affairs directed by the US Department of Federal Affairs. It's a hospital, clinic, rest home and more. An emergency room has been or is being added. This is the number one resource of veterans within the state.

Fantastic experience: New to the area and to VA healthcare. I have had incredibly good care here and the doctors are thorough. The staff is polite and accommodating. They have found solutions and picked up on things my private docs have missed for several years including some potentially dangerous issues. They have excellent medical experts who treat you with dignity and respect. Kudos to this facility and staff. Top notch care!

Fantastic experience: The folks at Manchest VA are phenomenal! I was seen in the same day surgery unit. I was seen on time. The whole nursing team were very considerate, helpful, and caring. They answered all my questions thoroughly. The doctor and his team were equally phenomenal! They made sure! Understood exactly what would take place. He read through my health history and answered all mine and my wife's questions. Thank you all for making my experience as pleasant as possible.
