Fantastic experience: Wow, everyone here is nice and friendly. My 38 year old wife had a brain hemorrhage stroke. They know how to push and be kind. I couldn't think of another place for my wife to have rehab for her stroke.

Fantastic experience: My 2 weeks at Encompass was amazing. They taught me how to properly do things myself as I got stronger. The food was like a 5 star restaurant. Therapy was 3 hours a day. I was nervous about that at first, but was no problem. Some of that time was helping with a shower or a class, or even fun games together as a group. So glad I went to this facility!

Fantastic experience: I was at Encompass for 11 days and it was an amazing transition from hospital care to rehabilitation care. The therapy was intense but also necessary to make sure my injuries were getting the appropriate treatment in a timely manner. My care was always #1 whether that be the nursing care or the physical therapy care. 5 stars easily.

Fantastic experience: I was transferred from surgery at UCSF to rehab at Encompass. I was very pleasantly surprised as to the modern clean lines of the building and that each patient room was private with a nice bathroom. The staff that looked after me were super nice, considerate and genuinely caring, 24/7. The PT staff led by Aaron and the OT staff led by Kirsten were all amazing & always full of encouragement. I spent 11 days there, and as soon I got my “independence” bracelet it gave me freedom to wander around the facility & not be 100% dependent on the nurses! As I am a foodie, the only negative thing for me was the food itself…the menu sounded good but didn’t necessarily translate to what was on the plate! Overall, I highly recommend Encompass in Modesto!

Positive experience: Therapy nurses were all awesome. I always looked forward to going. Most of the nurses were very good. I did have a run in with 2 nurses. One lied to my face about a med I had been waiting for all day for. Every time I saw her I asked if was here yet, she always said she would let me know. Late that afternoon I asked again and she it had been three all day and all I had to do was ask for it. I am so glad that my sister was there to hear the conversation. The med I was waiting for was a pain med. the next nurse was training. When I questioned why my pain meds were so late she stepped close to me and went about how scheduling works. So inappropriate. They need to change the schedule for meds. When I went for my post-op visit I couldn’t get a pain before cause it was to early and when I got back 2hrs later it was to late so I had to wait for the next scheduled pill. The schedule needs to be updated. Everything else was good.

Negative experience: Lisa from Management is very Rude & hung up the phone without a care in the world. Not being caring or helpful coming from Rehab place where you expect care and compassion from the management group. It breaks my heart for them treating my family member accepting her and doctor promised he will accept her after feeling better from hospital and now that my family member is in better condition ready for rehab they consider treating us like animals Instead of human being

Positive experience: Everyone was wonderful except your nurse named Kelly. She has rude bedside manners. Over talks me as a patient. She had to call Dr Minn then rushed out of the room with phone in hand talking about I was admit to go to memorial ER. Which she was so very wrong. I really don't know how she became a nurse that so impolite. She was the only one that made me uneasy. Thank you

Negative experience: I would give 0 stars if I could. This is the worst place ever! I had a family member there I walked in around 4pm to see his morning meditation sitting on the bed side stand. I called in the nurse to ask if this was his hypertension medication she informed me she could not identify the medication. I demanded that she did due to the fact that it looked like his morning dose of hypertension medication which was crucial for him to take. She then came back to say it was his hypertension medication and that in his chart it showed he took it. The medication was still on the little cup used to administer. There should never in an any occasion medication be left in the room. On another occasion there was another patient in the room visiting while I was there. That other patient requested to be taken to the bathroom and to be given a urinal. The CNA went to grab my family members used urinal to hand to the other patient I told him absolutely not. The quality of care they provide at this facility is horrible! Would not recommended in the slightest. Go anywhere but here. My family member was in so much and was ignored by encompass staff which resulted in emergency surgery. My family member could not participate in all their therapies they offered due to this secondary illness which they ignored. They used his inability to participate in all therapies as a refusal to not accept him back after surgery with no warning.

Fantastic experience: I was a patient here and it was amazing!! I had my own room and bathroom and the food was good. And I got lots of physical therapy every day HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Fantastic experience: This place is phenomenal all the way to all the staff cafeteria meals crew and every single person that is employed there. I have to give out special shouts to Kevin Mikaela, Britt and people I created names for you are included it honestly breaks my heart to leave tomorrow I promise to take my humor home with me. Fantastic experience: After a week in the hospital from a cerebral stroke, I was given the opportunity to choose where I wanted to work my way back to to health. I chose an acute rehab facility, Encompass Health, in Modesto, California, mainly because it was near my son. Little did I know what a fortuitous choice I made. First, the promise of a three hour combination of occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy was a reality. From OT therapist Josh directing my first shower and shampoo to Jason working on eliminating my double vision I was on regimen focused on my new normal. Adding to the mix were the physical therapists Elizabeth and Tyler plus speech therapist Brande. Together the team worked on building my strength, stabilizing my balance, teaching me to walk and tricks for navigating my new way of life. With firm encouragement and compassion, they coached me, prodded me and mentored me to a place I never thought I would be again.Second, the nursing staff was professional, efficient, and compassionate. There are too many to name here. However, many thanks to my case manager Rebecca for accommodating my needs and handling all transfers with care. Third, the kitchen. Being put on a heart healthy diet means no salt. The whole staff, including the cafeteria made sure I stuck to the diet. I must say at first I was a little taken aback, but adjusted to a plate made as tasty as possible with fresh fruit and vegetables. They also took into account that I could not cut meat, so the meat was always very tender. Last, but not least, the building. My only complaint was the air conditioner broke down two nights in a row leaving the room uncomfortably warm. Other than that, the cleaning staff keeps the building immaculately clean. And the gym is watched over by the therapists, making sure each object touched by a client is sanitized. All precautions are taken. This is why I give my highest recommendation to Encompass health rehab in Modesto . Martha Eddleman

Fantastic experience: Love this place everyone is so nice & attentive to your needs especially when you are trying to get better. It's very well organized with what you need to do to succeed. I am very impressed since I need to work to get back to a place where i'm self sufficient & do not need to rely on others to help me do menial tasks. This place makes me happy since I've been at different facilities where there level of effort failed to impress me.

Positive experience: Pros: The building was kept clean and tidy. The physical therapists were kind and made sure to take one's pain into cosideriation when setting the day's session. The overall vibe was that of a pleaseant place. Cons: The nursing and CNAs, at least a small part, seemed to be in a consistant rush. When moving patients, paticlarculary at night, the did not wait around for patiens to be in the correct posotion. The led at the least to some discomfort; at the worst I almost was dropped. I know worse can happen to others. The other con is the "doctor". The Dr. Assigned to myself, i asked two questions over two differenet days. The first question was asked after being there a week and af which the docto stated he never read me file so had no specific info for me. He proceed to give me generic health lesson information on the topic. The second second question i asked a day or two later and was more specific to why i was there, so a better chace of an ansewer. Except, i again was dimisissed and told to just lose weight and drink water. For context i am still young yet still had a stroke just over a month ago. I asked if headaches occuring regulary could be cause for concern. This is to which i was told to lose weigh. I did speak to someone later and was given correct info. I didn't speak to dr any more. Any one going needs to know this info to recieve proper care.

Fantastic experience: I am a patient here and I love it. From the time I got here, the staff has treated me with respect and not only respect, but quite well. My room was cleaned everyday and if I ever needed something, my nurse or one of the L.V.N would be right there. I love going to therphy. The staff there would make you feel good about your self. After a long day, they always ask if everything was fine and if not, they would ask you, is there anything we can do for you to get things right. Now at all the times when food was given out, it was excellent.. They were all so great. I am proud of the Dr. and other staff that took care of me. Thank them all.

Negative experience: Super sad this facility is garbage. They let patients that are not cleared check themselves out even if it is for the best interest of the patients to stay. The food is garbage and very few nurses have good bed side manner if you are choosing to let a loved one go to facility as such please take in consideration of other options

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank the staff at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital for taking excellent care of my Mom. My Mom is regaining her health and mobility because of their amazing physical therapists. Five specific therapists work an hour each with my Mom five days a week. Your loved ones are in good hands here. The staff is professional and approachable.

Fantastic experience: When I first was admitted to Encompass I was very skeptical of how the overall experience was going to be. Care, Professionalism, Environment, Safety, and Staff. In this review I will address each category and I assure you all are pleasant. I was placed under Encompass care due to receiving Laminectomy "back surgery". I was dependent for just about everything. I couldn't stand or walk without assistance let alone use the restroom. I also required help with showering and getting dressed/undressed. Every time I pressed the "call" button for the nurse it was answered in a timely manner despite them being short staffed. If you have any requests just communicate it with your nurse and or case manager and it will be reviewed for accommodation. The care received here was outstanding! There is not much to discuss with professionalism with Encompass except that they excel at it. Each and every member from Encompass shows great dedication to their job. From the Doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and the janitorial staff had great attitudes, friendly and encouraging. The environment such as the rooms and facility are what to be expected in a hospital/hospice. Each room has a window, two sinks, toilet & shower. Dressers and drawers for personal storage. They have HD screen tv's and upon request they will let you hook up a gaming system. I was able to bring in my Xbox Series X and play via Xbox live. Wireless connection is decent to play on but you may experience longer loading times. You are also encouraged to exit your room and walk the facility or (Wheel Chair) yourself depending on your condition. You must inform your nurse if it is ok before you do plan to exit your room for any reason. They have a nice patio area where you can enjoy "supervised" visits with family outside. I found the patio area to be very nice and relaxing. Getting some fresh air was always a pleasure. Only complaint I have is their visiting hours are from 8am-4pm *Likely to change due to covid* I rarely saw my wife or family since they worked during these hours so this was a complete bummer. Someone can always drop something off for you at the front if need be after hours (family, friends, Doordash, etc). Food here was pretty good for a rehabilitation center. If you ever receive a dish you don't like you can always send it back for something else like sandwiches, burgers, pizza, and chicken strips. They also have really good salads to choose from. Safety here at Encompass is their #1 goal. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is a safe and productive one. They have rules in place where you shouldn't stand or walk alone to avoid a fall or trip. Always let a member of the staff safely guide you to where you need to go. Any concerns the nurses might have with either myself or their own was always reviewed in a timely manner. Staffing here is simply EXCELLENT! Shout out to nurses Tiffany, Soax, Mikayla, Lorena, Tatiana and physical therapists Vanessa, Samantha, Jasmine and Marc. These are just a few of the many to mention, everyone here deserves a raise! Case manager Tara made sure my stay went great and was of great help upon special requests regarding my gaming setup and any other general questions. If you ever have the opportunity to go to Encompass for rehabilitation please do it. You get three hours of occupational therapy and physical therapy one hour sessions three times a day. The physical therapists had me walking by the time I was discharged *two weeks* and I could barely get out of bed when I arrived here. I wouldn't have made this much progress without the team at Encompass and for that I am thankful and happy to award them with 5 stars for this review.

Fantastic experience: Incredible place the nurses are awesome and extremely caring, Kristen, Renee, Julie, Dropna, just a few Tara, case manager Kerri , Vanessa, Just a couple of amazing therapist professional individuals. Too many to remember all their names. The meals were really good. I had no idea what to expect,blown away and left much better than when I went in

Fantastic experience: My mother was brought here in April/May 2019 for rehab after having a tumor removed from her brain. Everyone here was so helpful and nice. It made things so easy and there was a remarkable difference in her abilities to take care of herself once she left this place. I could not find the time till now to express my appreciation but here it is! If I didn't live in Canada I would visit in person to say thanks.

Fantastic experience: I was brought here for physical therapy after having major spine surgery. My PT and OT staff were the best ever. I was up and walking in no time. Daily in the gym you could see the improvement in the patients, and it was amazing how well they were doing from one day to the next. The staff made it fun and not like work. If you need PT and in a hospital environment with nurses, this is the place to be. Also Dr. Minn is the best and is there every day. Talk about dedication. Love this man. The nursing staff is great as well, always have their patients coming first. Great place and I highly recommend.

Negative experience: Disgusted with the care my dad received from this place I tell everyone I know do not ever send anyone here they sent my dad home with a bed sore on his heel and he was vomiting for 4 Days while he was in their “care” he ended up being admitted into the ER less than 24 hours of being released from this place. I would give no stars.

Positive experience: We visited a patient, and although we couldn’t go inside because of Covid-19, the staff is friendly and even helped us with some of our needs. They have a good therapy program.

Fantastic experience: My Dad stayed for a total of 21 days in April & May. The staff was positively wonderful. They were very attentive to his needs, made him feel comfortable & worked with our family to communicate with him during his stay. All the staff were kind, caring & compassionate. COVID presented it's own set of challenges since we couldn't visit in person. Each day we arrived outside his window & conducted our visit through our cell phones. We are able to bring him clean laundry, flowers, books etc & drop off at the front desk & they would immediately deliver to his room. During his stay, he had an additional stroke & they immediately called an ambulance to transport him to the nearest hospital. Dad had several physical therapists during his stay & each one provided a detailed progress report. Our entire family is very appreciative for the wonderful care he received there. THANK YOU to the entire staff at Encompass Health Rehabilitation.

Fantastic experience: Recently my great grandma was at Encompass Health, for rehabilitation, after her hip surgery. I have nothing but kind words for this facility, they took great care of my great grandmother. The therapist was kind and patient, and did an amazing job with her recovery. My great grandmothers frequent visitors (and herself) were only Spanish speaking, but the staff of Encompass Health did a great job with communication and keeping everyone informed. Not only was the staff amazing, but so was the place. The rooms were spacious, clean and cozy. Overall, I recommend this facility to anybody focused on having a healthy and speedy recovery !

Fantastic experience: The first time I came into this facility I came from Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. I'd had a horrific accident which nearly took my life. I was treated with the utmost care, dignity and professionalism for which a person could ask. I never lacked for the attention I needed. My occupational and physical therapists were well-trained, kind and dedicated to my utmost recovery. My case manager knew of my progress on a daily basis. Dr. Vigna was incredibly thorough and cared genuinely about my progress & well-being! The facilities were immaculate, the food was quite good and I believe this facility is the best one could hope to be referred. I thrived here and recommend it highly! I have just been readmitted for advanced OT & PT. My hope during this stay is to get on both of my feet & walking with a cane. If there's a facility on earth that can do that for me it is here. Thank goodness for the entire staff at Encompass Health. I am nearing the end of my 14-day re-admittance to Encompass Health. I was fortunate enough to qualify for different & advanced physical & occupational therapy during this stay. My therapists were dedicated, well-qualified & hard working professionals. Maria & Ana worked with me for most of my therapeutic sessions. I was blessed to receive therapy from Mark & Aaron. Rhonda was helpful, although I didn't have the benefit of her training. Still she was always polite and cheerful as we encountered each other on the floor. All the therapists were compassionate & kind as they guided me thru my exercises. They cared about my success and health to reach goals of independence and stamina. My nurses: Patty, Satinder, Charlotte, Gurvant, Debra, Gagan and Rose were over the top with their care-giving and support. Nurses who were on duty, while not assigned to me deserve acknowledgment for their sweet personalities and pleasant attitudes toward me are Soc, Anthony and Scott. Staff who supported the nurses were professional, kind & helpful, including Amber, Paula, Gina and Loni. The remaining professional staffers who deserve being named for assistance above and beyond their job descriptions are Bertha, Nicole, Manbir, Garland & Dr. Vigna. How are so many qualified and caring people assembled at one place of employment?The personnel at this health facility are well trained, caring and fabulous individuals.

Fantastic experience: I transferred to this rehabilitation hospital on 30th April 2019. I had suffered an attack of Guillain Barre Syndrome. I could not walk. The rooms were airy, large, had a shower room, had television and radio, had wi-fi and a staff call button. The staff were amazing. I was assigned physiotherapists and also occupational therapists. The gym facilities were wonderful and by the time I was fit to fly back to the UK, I was able to walk again. I have no hesitation in giving this Rehabilitation Hospital a 5 ☆ Rating. Negative experience: DR. VINA HATES HISPANIC PEOPLE. HE INTIMIDATES PEOPLE. HE OVER PRESCRIBES MEDICATIONS. HE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT SPECIFIC PATIENTS. REPORT HIM TO YOUR INSURANCE OR MEDICAL BOARD OF CALIFORNIA. HE IGNORES FAMILY WITHOUT POA. HE KEEPS PATIENTS THERE TO COLLECT FROM INSURANCE NOT FOR THERE CARE.

Fantastic experience: My name is Teresa Begil My husband Daniel Begil was a patient from December 8,2017 till Jan.18,2018 We were so blessed for this facility we had the best care from the nurses ,cna , therapists,the cafeteria,janitor,housekeeping, most of all Dr. vienerd Dr. vienerd is so into his patients to where he comes in every morning with a warm good morning how are you to even in the gym he sits there and watches his patients you don't find a lot of doctors like him We thank you so much Dr. I like to thank the therapist for always incourging my husband not to give up thank you Jennifer,Debra Prya for all your hard work I myself was treated so wonderful always asking me if I needed anything to how I'm I doing Even our family visitors were so amaze on how clean and wonderful how the employees were I recommend this facility to nooner that is looking for a rehabilitation AGAIN THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU

Fantastic experience: Had some problems with two nurses caring for my mother but HealthSouth took care of it . over all love the place great staff friendly people , big rooms very nice place . I would most definitely recommend HealthSouth to family and friends !!!!

Negative experience: Would NOT recommend this place.. Looks great but it ends there. Staff doesnt communicate with each other, patients or patient families. Therapy is lacking and patients ability to recover mobility of any kind isnt a priority. Total lack of accountability for staff causes medication mix ups, missed evaluations, missed shower/bathroom trips, lost paperwork etc.. No one in charge except a customer quality director who tries to make excuses for "mishaps". Any facility that requires 24 hr advance notice of intended after hour visit by immediate family must have something to hide...

Negative experience: THIS IS ONE OF THE BADDEST FACILITY IN MODESTO CALIFORNIA.THEY STOLE MY FAMILY PROPERTY.THEY TRANSFERRED HIM TO ANOTHER FACILITY UNDER THE WRONG NAME. AND ON TOP OF THE HE HAD A STROKE A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE THEY MOVE HIM HE COULD HAVE DIED FOR ALL THEMISTAKES THIS PLACE MADE THANK GOD MY FAMILY MEMBER IS OK FOR RIGHT NOW NO ONE THERE DO THERE JOB THEY BLAME EVERYONE ELSE FOR THERE MISTAKES.SOMEONE IS GOING TO CLOSE THAT PLACE DOWN LAWSUITS.PLEASE DON'T PUT YOUR LOVE ONE IN THERE IF YOU LOVE THEM.THE GOD HE IS OK .AMEN

Fantastic experience: My daughter spent 2 weeks at this hospital rehabbing from back surgery and she was treated with such great proffessionalisim from the first day.The staff is very capable ,compassionate and kind and they recognize your needs and work very hard to make your stay as soothing and healing as possible,awesome place ,thanks to everyone associated with that facility

Negative experience: I spent 2 weeks here. I transferred from a competent and highly trained facility before my stay here. I must say, this facility needs alot of professional, moral, & ethical training. My best description of this facility would be a kangaroo zoo. Expect to hear alot of apologies and excuses.
