Modesto Post Acute Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff and environment
Fantastic experience: Not only am I an employee here, I trust the staff here so much my own father has been here twice now for short term rehab. All the CNAs down his hall are wonderful and personable and he has nothing but good to say about them! I wouldn't trust anyone else with my family.
Negative experience: Nearly killed my father in law through neglect.
Negative experience: My aunt passed away here and I just spoke to her and she did not sound she was at the point of death at all they said she passed of many complications they sent her there from hospital and she did not want to go there I could not get anyone to answer upon calling this place and my aunt wasn't answering her phone as well I feel maybe they didn't give her her phone I called for days and now she passed there was also $100 missing from her purse and her daughter tried calling no answer so she left a message and got no response the post it stating the amount of money she had was ripped as if trying to remove the amount of money she had sickening to steal from a person who's passed away after you let them pass from neglect of care as a patient and human being now I see why she didn't want to go back shame on them and shame on who allows this to happen and not shutting this place down imagine how many people pass from neglect of care under this facility sad
Negative experience: **Extremely Disappointing Experience** My father stayed at Modesto Post Acute recently due to a broken hip, and the experience was nothing short of a nightmare. First and foremost, despite being in a rehabilitation center, he received absolutely no physical therapy. He was left lying in his bed, unable to walk to the restroom, and was instructed by staff to relieve himself in his bed. This lack of basic care was appalling. The conditions of the facility were deplorable. The rooms were cramped with three patients each, with only two televisions for entertainment, both located at opposite ends of the room. This setup meant my father spent his days staring at the ceiling, feeling utterly neglected. Worse still, the facility reeked of feces and was unbearably hot due to the lack of air conditioning. Patients were frequently found partially or fully naked due to the sweltering Modesto summer heat. Basic necessities like liquids were denied to my father, leading to severe dehydration and malnourishment. His blood sugar and sodium levels were not monitored, which eventually resulted in him being rushed back to the hospital in an ambulance. It was a miracle he survived such neglect. The staff's attitude was callous and indifferent. None of the nurses could provide any information about my father's care or treatment schedule. Attempts to contact the facility for updates were met with continuous hang-ups, displaying a shocking lack of professionalism and compassion. In addition to my father's ordeal, his roommate had his dentures misplaced by the nursing staff, depriving him of the ability to eat for days. This level of incompetence is beyond belief. The pictures you see online are a facade. The reality is far from the sanitized images on their website, which seem to be from a different era altogether. This facility is a danger to its residents. It should be shut down immediately before more lives are put at risk. In conclusion, if you care about your loved ones, do not send them to Modesto Post Acute. The neglect and disregard for human dignity that we witnessed are utterly appalling. It's heartbreaking to see elderly patients treated with such neglect and incompetence. Steer clear of this facility at all costs.
Negative experience: DONT NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! PLEASE !!!!! For the sake of your loved one DO NOT send them here If I could do a negative -5 stars I would
Positive experience: My Mom was recently admitted here after her lengthy hospital stay. Johnny (the manager) went above and beyond and was always checking in on her and made her feel at home! Her nurse Katherine was very patient and kind. All of the staff were great especially Mo (mohammad) and Adrianna, both very friendly and efficient.
Fantastic experience: I was at this facility for nearly a month. They saved my life! My angels- Physical Therapy, CNA’s, LVN and RN’s were exactly that, angels. I was not the best patient and I had issues! I truly feel without their tlc I wouldn’t be sitting here at my home today. I could never thank them enough for what they did for me, but I hope in their hearts they know how special they are.
Negative experience: I would not recommend this place this is not a rehab this is a place for the insane some of the C N A are good jewels hydie Tammy Aerika is the best na along with jewels Jenny Megan nite time Megan and nurses Catherine Jaswinder Vena
Negative experience: Horrible food .05 rating,,spiders,,,short handed staff,,,one flew over the coo coo's nest. Screaming residence. People trying to escape.
Fantastic experience: There are so many wonderful people who work here and do their best to help each patient feel comfortable. This is definitely a great place to heal and recover.
Fantastic experience: Every time I go in to visit my husband everyone is so helpful and nice. It makes me feel right at home. I love and trust the staff! Also the food isn't bad. I ate there once with my husband for a special "candle light dinner." It was lovely. They had a performer singing and playing guitar. It was a special time for us.
Fantastic experience: A good place for old people my dad had his mom here before she passed away. Linette Dupi
Negative experience: My friend is in this place for recovery,we walked in there, the floors where sticky and it so smells like urine everywhere..I couldn't stand the smell so we had to leave my poor friend . I'm not happy
Positive experience: Not the greatest, but not the worst. My mom ate the same food for a month. Needs a better physical therapy. Not so professional. The staff is really friendly this is the reason I don’t give it a 2 star
Negative experience: Place is trash
Negative experience: My father is there currently. I'm going to pick him up today. He's been there 1 day and he told me they served him food with a fly on it. Gross. When I called, they won't pick up their phone. There's no way I am leaving him there. He could tell there was more to what he was saying. Do not send your family here.
Negative experience: My father was only there for about 24 hours and was traumatized. It was an absolute nightmare. He was harassed by his 2 bedside roommates. (One patient constantly spit on his belongings or would take his belongings and at night grabbed his feet. My father is in critical condition and had no bedrest or physical therapy as promised. He almost died as none of his medications were ever given to him. We removed him immediatley to save his life. He was fully cognizant of everything that he experienced. He stated, "This place is insane and meant for where people who have nobody to care for them and soon forgotten." Truly depressing.
Fantastic experience: I’m an employee at MPA and this is my last day unfortunately! I just wanted to let this facility know how amazing they are! The employees (management, nurses, CNAs are amazing! I’ve never worked with such an amazing and compassionate staff!! I’ve worked many facilities and I’m very impressed with how professional and well put together this place is! The nurses work so hard for only 8 hour shifts and are very thorough! The CNAs are super attentive and have great bedside manner with the residents!! Management is very strict with policies and that’s great because many facilities have just let things fall apart after Covid hit!! Sabrina the dsd is amazing and a very lovely person! Don’t ever curse around her!!! Lol! The schedule which I forgot her name Paulo maybe? She is the sweetest and most understanding!! Amazing DON as well! The only thing they need to fix is more snacks at night!! Haha!! Thank you Modesto Post Acute for being so good to me!!! They are a very welcoming bunch and I definitely recommend this place!!❤️❤️❤️
Positive experience: Our family has our mother in this facility for 3 weeks now. The personal attention she has been given is great. We would recommend this facility to anyone having a need for their services
Positive experience: The services you get here are great. My mom is well treated here and I would recommend this facility to anyone having need of their services.
Fantastic experience: This facility is a great choice! My grandfather stayed there for quite sometime and he enjoyed it. The staff was always so helpful and welcoming! You will not regret picking this place, I know I didn’t.
Fantastic experience: Our mom moved to Modesto Post Acute Center for rehab. We had not seen her for 10 days due to COVID. Claudia, Director of Admissions, was extremely helpful in getting the move to happen even though there were issues with the insurance company. The nurse in the COVID wing was very kind and responsive and asked many questions about Mom to get to know her better. We also got to FaceTime with Mom which was a true blessing.
Negative experience: Like Twight Zone, Horrible time . Had an elder friend stayed for 3 month after he fracture his ankles. He said it was it was an uncaring, incompentent, and worst experiece he had. NO AC and Heat. The staff was uncaring and didn't speak English or did want to respond back. Didn't listen to what the patient ask of them. He is a sharp minded fellow and said being there messed up hid mind. He said being there he does know if he would wake up there or some where else. He said they left him at the hospital without his phone before. He says DONT GO THERE
Negative experience: Disorganized mess.
Negative experience: This place is an absolute nightmare. Mother is currently in this facility for rehabilitation from a heart attack and pneumonia. She has only gotten worse under their care. Incompetent would be an understatement. Understaffed and Incompetent! Oh, did I mention incompetent? Their resident doctor only occasionally shows up and they have no schedule for his visits. My mother has been seen by him only once in 10 days. I have filed a complaint with the CMB. This place should be shut down!
Fantastic experience: My mother was at this facility just recently. We are happy with how my mom's care was. The admission person was really nice, she even allowed us to tour the nursing home prior to my mom arriving from the hospital and she answered all the questions we had. We could tell my mom felt happy and comfortable at this place and that made us feel at ease knowing she was well taken care of. Many thanks to the staff who helped with our Mothers care.
Fantastic experience: Great nurses and great care. Good place to rehabilitate yourself.
Positive experience: I was here at this facility for 3 weeks for physical therapy post surgery on my hip. First, when I arrived here from Doctors Hospital by ambulance, I was bombarded by about 5 staff members poking and prodding! It was bizarre! Most of the staff here are very nice. The so called DON and Admissions Coordinator are rude and very unprofessional. The head of Physical Therapy here lacks professionalism. He must have looked good on paper. The physical therapy staff on the other hand, are exceptional. The food is tolerable for the most part, but it is very obvious funding for meals is very limited. One day, we had what appeared to be watered down tomato sauce dumped into a small ramekin and it was called tomato soup. It was served with a cold grilled cheese sandwich on white bread. For dinner it was a ham salad sandwich. On the other hand, on three or more occasions they served a nice pork roast with cheesy augrautin potatoes, go figure!? There may be a couple of RN’s there, but the majority of the staff is a few LVN’s and CNA’s. The best part of this facility is the physical therapist’s and the CNA’s. I would not recommend a long term stay.
Fantastic experience: Just like any facility you will get the good with the okay. We selected this facility for our grandma as she was at several other facilities in Modesto in the past years. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. A few times we did have to wait a few minutes for call button to be answered but we understood that they tried best to get to grandma quickly. Therapy and nursing team was great. Some staff members went above and beyond. I would definitely recommend this place. My grandma went to another facility by Rumble and even though it looked nice, she got more sick there and ended up back in the hospital with bed sores and in a more worse condition. We will never return there.
Fantastic experience: My Mother has been at this facility since October 2019. The staff are so kind and caring. I really appreciate the care they take of her. The times I’ve visited, different days, different times of day, they check on her regularly and when she has used her call button they are prompt at checking on her and taking care of her needs.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff. Very clean. I was very surprised at the care my aunt received. The nursing and therapy team was wonderful. We were always greated by the friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: Don’t judge a book by its cover! My mother broke both of her legs and needed rehabilitation I read reviews and this was the best one according to Google. When we first arrived I was ready to just take her home just because of the appearance of the building. However the staff won me over nurses and physical therapy the care was excellent. The staff were courteous, caring and quick to respond when the call button was pushed. I highly recommend,
Positive experience: Porque es un lugar muy bueno ,confiable ,amorososy gran ayuda medica para nuestros seres queridos
Fantastic experience: My uncle was recently at this facility. The staff was very nice every time I visited. I have had family members at other facilities in the area and this place was by far the best. The hospital tried to have him go back to English Oaks and his experience there previously was horrible. He ended up back at the hospital from a fall. I highly recommend this place for rehab and experienced staff.
Positive experience: I have been very impressed with this facility. My father in law who suffers from dementia, is a resident there temporarily following a hospitalization . The staff have been very patient with him. They are always friendly and keep me informed of all treatment that is ordered for him and why it was ordered. We have experienced a skilled nursing unit before that left us frustrated and fearing for his safety and health. So when I was told he needed to go to a skilled nursing unit again I had a negative reaction. This place is a breath of fresh air, it is everything the last S.N.U. wasn't. These are caring capable people from housekeeping staff to the medical professionals and administrative staff.
Positive experience: As far as the level of care they are average I guess security is non-existent but as far as convenience on visiting a patient I would give the place highmark's
