Negative experience: I wish I could give ZERO stars. My father came out of English Oaks worse than when he went in. No communication from any of the staff. We would have to drive down there and stalk them for any medical info. I called the social worker (Erma) twice in one week and had to ask a nurse to walk down to her office before she called me back. She always had an excuse. They told me late Friday he would be discharged on Monday (due to his insurance) and you can’t speak to anyone on the weekends. I called at 9 am on Monday (at this point we were happy to get him out of there) and Erma had NO information for us. She admitted to getting into work late and had no idea how my father was doing, which medications he would be sent home with, etc. she told me to call the other departments to get info. on my own. Isn’t that the job of the social worker? They told us a wheelchair would be delivered to the house and we still haven’t received it. Luckily we had one but now my parents have to share the one we have. How did they think we would get him in the house? They don’t care. If we would have left him in there any longer I’m convinced he wouldn’t have made it out alive. My father’s roommate fell on his discharge date and broke his hip, sending him right back to the hospital. It takes forever for anyone to help the patients so they try to get up on their own. I saw many experiences of rude behavior towards the patients. I’m sure the staff hated my family because we were always checking in and asking questions. They often seemed annoyed by it. Unfortunately some patients don’t have family members to advocate for them and it’s horrible to witness. I could go on and on about the horrible care/service provided at English Oaks. We did report this to the manager and I hope things change.

Fantastic experience: From the moment my mother was admitted to time of discharge, from Physical Therapy, Nursing staff to Dietary and Housekeeping, it was clear that English Oaks is a well run facility with standards of excellence. Mom was treated with respect and dignity . Her needs were met in a timely fashion and the staff was accessible to family for addressing questions and concerns. She was safely discharged and received encouragement on her way out. I am very pleased with Moms progress and recommend English Oaks for short term rehab.

They are always nice, helpful and always smiling .....My Dad was in there after he had a pin put in his leg and now a long time family friend is in there long term. Super happy with all they do!!!

Negative experience: My mother was abused my the staff there and then was told she wouldn’t be able to return because she reported the abuse.

Fantastic experience: I want to thank the entire team at English oaks. My mother was there for 16 days doing rehab. They have such a wonderful staff. I would like to thank all of them for taking care of my mom. The nurses were great the physical therapist were great. The respiratory therapist was great. Every single person in here went above and beyond to take care of my mother thank you

Positive experience: When I needed short term assistance I did not hesitate to choose English Oaks. My mom was a long term patient there a couple years ago and I was impressed with the excellent and compassionate care she received. I only gave one less star because there are times when the staff is stretched to the limit but I understand that sometimes it is inevitable, this is true no matter which home you choose. English Oaks staff is very professional and attentive and made me feel very well cared for. Nurses Maria and Emily were the best and care staff Juanita, Angela and Martha among others made sure I was comfortable and felt safe at all times. Even when there were moments where my needs put me in somewhat embarrassing situations, they handled everything with discretion and empathy. I am forever thankful for all the wonderful staff that made my stay comfortable. If I or any of my loved ones need rehabilitation care in the future I would choose them again.

Negative experience: A dreadful place, my wife was admitted with a urinal infection and she deceased in 3 weeks due to poor treatment by this facility

Positive experience: Nice nurses but many times pain medication is brought late making it harder to manage pain especially for patients in there for rehabilitation reasons. Also the food quality is pretty bad. Not only does it look unappealing, but the flavors often match.

Fantastic experience: They are taking good care of me in here and physical therapy they are good and I like them and they are helping me to learn how to walk

Positive experience: I am so thankful to all of the nurses, the staff who had assisted me while under care at this facility. I was treated with respect and compassion. Everybody is so friendly and helpful. To my nurses teams: Brandy and Aimee, Edna and Lilibelle and the rest who take turns in taking care of me. Thank you to my therapists: Jacqui, Quest, Frankie , etc for your patience and encouragenent in doing my exercises . I don't have any complain in my stay at English oaks. Everybody is so friendly and helpful. Thanks to my case workers for helping me process equipments i needed upon discharge. God bless you all. This place is wonderful. God bless.

Fantastic experience: I was the Patient and I had a great time as best as I can...

Negative experience: It wasn't the worst care I've ever seen, but my dad was there for a few months in 1998 at the end of his life. The nursing staff was very attentive when he had visitors, but from what my dad told me they never came in except to give meals when we weren't there. I would have picked a different place had I been able to afford to put him somewhere better.

Positive experience: My stay there was very nice. The nurses all seemed to be genuinely interested in the patience. The food was quite good so far as hospital foods go.

Positive experience: Most of the staff was very pleasant . I only had a couple that acted like they didn't want to be there. The only complaint I had was the call button was not answered promptly enough when I had to go to the bathroom. The food was very good, the discharge personal was very efficient and informative. The theropy people were excellant. I had a CNA at night that was so special. My overall experience was very good.

Negative experience: If it is the only resort this place will do the min to keep family well.

Fantastic experience: So far the communication and sincere concern for appropriate care has been delivered timely to me. I know this is an early review, however, this is not the first facility my mother has been at in the past weeks. I have had to move her from neglectful hospitals, and, would like to shout out the team there for being the most “together” facility I have seen out of 3 different facilities claiming to provide the same level of care. My mother has been in there for 3 days and I have already answered calls from the nurses and care team at least once a day to give me updates! This may not seem like a big deal for somebody just recently caring for their elderly parent, however, this level of care is indeed a big deal when compared to the average “for profit”. Negative experience: They didn't take very good care of my Mom. My Mom was there for rehab for knee surgery. My mom's last day there was August 29. Took to the hospital and died September 3.

Positive experience: My grandpa stayed at this facility for rehabilitation after being discharged from the hospital. The staff I dealt with were awesome. Scott the physical therapist is the best! I really appreciated his patience, knowledge, understanding, and persistence in trying to get my grandpa to participate in the activities. He continually gave me great advice on my grandpa’s care needs and I’m grateful for the wisdom he shared. Grandpa was a difficult patient, all of the staff who had him were so patient and caring. This place was packed full of patients and the staff might not have been the quickest at all times but they went above and beyond in the care they gave Grandpa. The social services staff was very understanding when I came to them with questions and concerns. All of the staff were very supportive. I highly recommend this facility if you have a loved one who needs rehabilitation. Thank you English Oaks for everything you did for Grandpa and me.

Negative experience: If you ring the bell to get assistance you may have to wait an hour to an hour and a half the food is terrible Administration does not care you will starve after 7 and I can food or soda or water until the next morning is this place is what the future holds for me for a nursing home I'd rather live on the street totally unacceptable

Negative experience: My Aunt has been a patient at the Facility for over a month after having hip surgery from a Fall. She is sixty nine and her health has drastically declined since being admitted. No Real Communication. Broken Promises. Don't Recommend This Facility at All!!!!

Negative experience: NEGATIVE 1000 STARS! This is the worst place. After my spinal fusion last February, I was moved there and within an HOUR they hurt me because they did not read my doctor’s orders. They thought that I was there for a heart condition! The idiot staff did not listen to me when I said that I could and NEEDED to get up out of the bed to walk and use the restroom, but they didn’t let me and forced me to use a bedpan, placing it under my fresh incision. I told them not to do it because of my back but they did not listen. Needless to say I was OUT OF THERE. This is a warning to all: DO NOT USE THE HORRIBLE PLACE!!

Negative experience: The absolute worst of care. If you want your loved one left dirty uncared for crying in pain. The attending physician never is in the facility. You asked me to call and tell you more about my experience. As the owner I think you should spend some serious time at your dysfunctional facility. Call pfft I have called so many times during my loved ones treacherous time spent there, only to be bounced around from one unaccountable person to the next. When I asked to speak with the atttending physician it would never happen. There is never an attending physician, and there is no way to speak to him. The supervisor Nikita says the only way she can get in touch with Dr. Church is by email. Th problems are numerous as there seems to be nobody that can answer any of my concerns. Between the hospital, primary care physician and English oaks staff. Being our loved one is in your care the orders must be from your physician. I could never get the order as the damn guy is not available. No case mgmt, no mgmt whatsoever. Weeping wound that I know became infected from lack of care at your facility. The patients are doomed if they do not have a loved one there to make sure they are cared for in a timely manner. A patient should not have to sit in their soiled underpants for 8 hours. When confronting the nurse, she says we do the best we can we were very busy today. That is not damn good enough. We all pay out way too much for you not to have adequate staff to keep your patients clean and cared for. Changing dressings on wounds before they become infected. Come on you know damn well what is happening in your pitiful facility. Stop lining your pockets with big money just to take elderly folks and leave them helpless with doom. Damn right if you have a loved one at this facility you better have a family member sitting there and questioning all they do as the mistakes are many and the care is shoddy.

Negative experience: Would not recommend to anyone!!! radika LVN is the worst person, she does not care about patients or employees, and they are always short staff.

Negative experience: My mother died of ammonia and also bedsores and malnutrition here. And was taken advantage of by caretakers who stole my mom's whole estate while in this facility. Our family is devastated that my mom suffered and had to endure this. I requested my mom's medical records and was refused. But I will have them soon. Count on it. I would never send your parent here. Beware! It's been a nightmare for us.

Positive experience: when my dad first got there, we were impressed. & as time went on & he kept telling us he waited an hour to use the bathroom or he couldn't eat lunch cause the chicken was hard as a rock (i witnessed that). & so many other occasions, where he was put on the back burner, the more I saw between the fancy silk napkins & friendly smiles. i was told he was going home on a Sunday because he had physical therapy the day before.........he never saw a p.t. & is beyond pissed. I'm just glad he gets to go home soon!!!!

Fantastic experience: After mom’s stroke we chose English Oaks for her rehabilitation. An assessment during her rehabilitation revealed she would need more care than my sister or I could provide. It was very depressing news for all of us, but not completely unexpected. Fortunately, English Oaks could provide mom with the care she needed. English Oaks provides many services to both short- and long-term patients. The activities staff has bingo every day, sing-alongs, board games, and periodically they help the ladies with their nails. All of the activities help provide mental stimulation that ensures better mental and physical health. It it not home, but I love this place because they take care of mom.

Negative experience: A CNA came to work sick she was coughing and blowing her nose while she cleaned my mom, the next day my mom couldn’t breath and they were ignoring her she ended up contracted pneumonia and died a few days later

Negative experience: My Grandfather is in this nursing home, I live in Los Angeles been trying to reach him for weeks and no success. They answer and hang up the phone. They had my grandfather in a wheelchair for hours in pain and no care at all. No doctors around and staff under graded. When I go there I'm watching the staff how they do there job. Worse place every!!! Sorry to say but I'm not happy with there performance. Do not recommend!!

Negative experience: Not enough CNAs for workload. Patients parked in halls for hours hollering, "help me," "bathroom, please," "take me home," etc. Very unpleasant place. Take your loved ones elsewhere if you can. For-Profit business and it shows. Many staff are nice and care, but not enough to respond to patients timely. 20 minutes or more to long to wait to go to bathroom for 85 year old father-in-law is to long.

Negative experience: Inadequate staff to patient ratio. Go elsewhere if you can. My dad has been here for 12 days, CNA coverage to thin. They have to rush the process of getting patients up each morning. Dad becomes disorientated when awakened and rushed to sit up and dress for the day. Yesterday he cried for help, said they had put him in the freezer, when he was ro rolled into the bathroom to wash his face.

Negative experience: Went there after j had knee replacement worst experience I ever had it took 20 minutes to get a nurse,food was horrible. Suppose to get physical therapy and was there 5 days and got 1 day of physical therapy you only get 2 showers a week. Will never go back and tell people not to go there. It used to be a good place, not anymore
