Positive experience: Overall my mom’s experience here was decent. The only issues I (daughter) had were that after she’d been in the hospital for 5 days and at Encompass for two I had to call the case manager and ask if she could get a shower. They did get her a shower, I just wonder how much longer it would have been before I asked. They gave her bed baths. Also, they expected her to be able to walk on her own without a walker, but she was using a walker for a year before she ended up in the hospital. Communication wasn’t great either. Overall though, I do recommend this place, I felt best about her being there. Very well staffed.

Fantastic experience: Because of my continuing improvement based on my experience at your hospital, I wish to commend your staff for all the hard work they did resulting in the improvement in my ability to walk. I wish to particularly thank Morgan Cagle in her assistance in helping me get up the stairs without a fear of falling. I also want to thank the entire department for all the courtesies extended to me during my stay which, even though it was a while ago, is still showing fruitful results today. I would highly recommend you to any person who needs your services

Fantastic experience: The Care and the rehabilitation staff was above and beyond what we expected. At all times i felt the staff cared that I went home much better than I had arrived. My doctors orders for my rehabilitation experience were carried out with care and expertise. I am due to have another surgery soon and plan to ask for Encompass Health for my after care.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Encompass Rehabilitation in Montgomery was as good as it gets. All of the staff went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed to make my stay as pleasant as possible in a situation which could have been very unpleasant. I have absolutely no complaints.

Positive experience: Overall my experience with Encompass was great. My therapy team was the best !!! Andrea, my PT and Jayla my OT were such a blessing to me. They always made me feel cared for and knew exactly what I need during therapy. Andrea always encouraged me to do something I hadn’t done. Jayla showed me adaptive ways to do certain things that will help me at home. I could not have asked for a better therapy team.

Fantastic experience: I completed my 12-week Occupational Therapy Level 2 rotation at Encompass Rehabilitation Facility! My experience was wonderful and unforgettable. I really enjoyed working alongside my clinical instructor, Joniya. She was super supportive and helpful with contributing to my growth as a future occupational therapist! I worked with other amazing therapists as well, Hannah and Erica! This facility is GREAT for all students! My overall confidence within a clinical setting has improved tremendously. Being able to see how all of the therapists cared for their patients was a beautiful sight to see. Encompass will only get better and I recommend to everyone!

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my experience as a Level 2 Occupational Therapy Fieldwork Student at this facility. I had the pleasure of being at this location for 12 weeks and working alongside a wonderful Occupational Therapist, Hope Johnson. I have learned so much from Hope regarding patient care and doing whats best for specific patient and allowing them the right to autonomy. She instilled so much knowledge within me that I will always remember. Encompass was a wonderful facility. Special shoutout to Jana in the OT department, the extra mile she goes for her patients definitely does not go unnoticed. She is great! The therapy department works so hard to provide the best therapy to patients to help them be as independent as possible with meaningful activities. All of the staff worked together as a team to provide the best care to patients. There was always a staff member around who was willing to assist to help out with patients. This hospital definitely puts their patients first and I cannot forget about HR, they truly make everything inclusive and was very helpful and informative with students. Such a great experience and opportunity.

Fantastic experience: I just finished my clinical rotation as an occupational therapy student at Encompass Health in Montgomery, and I have had a great time here! All of the staff is amazing and willing to help. The facility is always clean and everyone does their best to put their patients first. During my fieldwork rotation, a lot of emphasis was placed on creating functional interventions, which help to ensure that patients are as independent as possible when they’re discharged. I’d like to give special thanks to my clinical instructor, Amy Burt, for all of her guidance and helping me become a better clinician. Overall, I’d recommend Encompass to anyone, student or patient!

Fantastic experience: I was released from Selma Friday, and came to this facility. The staff has treated me VERY well, always checking in and making sure everything is okay. The therapy staff pushes you and makes sure that you get it. They really encourage you to do better and do their best to make sure you do well. Last but not least, your student Catie is a good encourager and I think you need to hire her. She really works hard to help her patients, and she is very patient and tried to help them get better. Honestly, I don't want to leave because the staff treated me so well. BIG SHOUT OUT TO MY NURSE TECH ANDREA SMITH was amazing, I really wish you guys had more people like her and TINA BRYANT AND CANDACE STALLING. THEY ARE THE BEST AND HELPED ME THROUGH THIS PROCESS REALLY THANK THEM AND THEY DESERVE SOMETHING IN RETURN !

Fantastic experience: I was at encompass for one week to try to gain strength for walking, climbing stairs, and doing my own self-care activities. All the therapist were Great and personalized my program to help me make my gains. I can’t say enough about the program. From nursing to technicians to therapist They all were great

Fantastic experience: I was a speech therapy student at encompass recently, and I had an amazing experience there! As a student, I felt very respected by all the staff that worked there. I truly felt like I was apart of the team! I learned so much not only from my own supervisor, but from other disciplines. Other than the staff, Encompass was always so clean, always strived to put patient care first, and always took all the necessary steps to keep Encompass a safe environment for all patients, their families, and the staff. Other than being a student, I have had a personal experience with Encompass as well! My grandmother was a patient at Encompass twice, and received wonderful care from her doctors and nurses. So thankful for Encompass and the impact is has had on my education and my family!

Fantastic experience: The hospital staff has been wonderful and up beat. Therapist (Dalton O and Kim/Kayla) were excellent. I didn’t even realize I was doing therapy because they made it enjoyable. I would recommend this rehab to anyone. The food could use improvement.

Fantastic experience: I have been an Occupational Therapy student at Encompass Health for the last 10 weeks and my experience has been wonderful. Not only have my clinical instructors gone above and beyond to teach me everything they know about OT, but the rehab team overall is always there to help me and step in when I need them. They have taken me on days where my instructors cannot be there and treated me with upmost respect, as if I were their clinical student. The OTs, PTs, SLPs, etc. have welcomed me with open arms and given me so many opportunities to learn and grow as a student. I would recommend any student to learn under the professionals at this hospital.

Fantastic experience: I've been here three times for physical rehabilitation and the staff and level of care is top notch, from the nurses to the therapists. I've had nothing but great experiences here and they've always gone above and beyond to help me achieve my goals. They have a wide range of equipment to help you gain strength, and fun, interactive group therapy sessions to get your heart pumping and work on coordination and learning how to better become independent once you leave therapy. I would strongly recommend Encompass Health to anyone needing quality rehabilitation from people who really care.

Positive experience: Though I was very displeased with a couple of case managers I interacted with (somewhat unprofessional), I was very pleased and impressed with the compassionate care and concern of some of the clinical staff. I had a parent who was recently admitted and discharged and I appreciated the continued care that was provided. Thank you to PCT Cornelius, Brittany G, physical therapists, speech therapy, pharmacy, and Nurses Tonya and Mary for all of your help and support! My parent is on the road to recovery and I'm so grateful!!

Fantastic experience: Excellent Rehabilitation Facility where all doctors listen to your medical needs, nurses are very attentive and caring to assist you plus when you push help button they visit you very fast to help with your request, the Physical and Occupational Therapists identify goals for you to return home to live independently, explain what treatment is needed to obtain these goals, these Therapists are very supportive and motivational in assisting you to meet all goals; and finally the food/menu is very good also filling with a nice variety and selection.

Fantastic experience: Encompass Health gave the greatest care for my mother in law. This is her second time to be there they treated her with dignity, respect and love. If you have a loved one / family member this is the number one-place to get rehabilitation and fell better.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Encompass treated my dad with such kindness while he was recovering from surgery. We were told before his stay that this was the best facility to go to for physical therapy, and we couldn’t agree more! The physical therapists were incredible and got him back to his old self in no time! If you need PT, this is the place to go!

Fantastic experience: I had wonderful care the whole time I was here... From the physical therapist Dalton O., my occupational therapist Kim, and all the other therapist and all my nurses and techs. Lisa P. came and checked on me each day. They take care of not only the expected needs, but also personal needs such as washing my hair because I was unable to do it myself. Melissa was the first to offer... I called her my angel...it meant so much to me! OT washed it afterwards...the personal touches of care was therapy for my soul!

Fantastic experience: Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Montgomery did a wonderful job of taking care of my grandmother after her recent hip fracture. All of the staff she encountered were polite and professional. She was able to make amazing progress and return to her home independently. Mattie, Hilaine, Diana, Latasha, Cresie, Angel, Kim S., Dalton O. Anna Rae, and so many more were amazing.

Fantastic experience: This was the best experience for me and I would highly recommend this place for anyone that is in need of any type of rehabilitation. The nurses on south wing get a great big shout out from me, Tonya my bff going forward, Hanna just the best!!!! Kendra on that game, my techs, Norma Jean, Kimberly, my occupational Therapist, Shelby, Hope, and my gentle giant Mr. Grigsby. There were no words to express the outpouring of love and comfort from all the staff even the receptionist were helpful and kind. I was so afraid and worried surrounding my surgery, but when I tell you that all those that were mentioned stood with me alll the way through my recovery, I mean it. South side did their thing. Fantastic experience: My elderly mother had the best care imaginable! She loved the staff, enjoyed the food & even gained a couple pounds! Discharge was bittersweet as she wanted to stay. Her strength & stamina greatly improved during her time there. Thanks Encompass team for taking such good care of her!

Fantastic experience: I've used Encompass Health twice due to my mother having major back surgeries. The staff and doctors there are super nice , very attentive to the patients needs. They have a rigorous rehabilitation program that allowed my mother to be more self sufficient when she was able to come home. The food is pretty good also they have wide menu choices. In the event we ever need rehabilitation services again Encompass Health is where we will go , my mother was happy and that's all that matters . Highly recommend ❤️

Fantastic experience: Excellent care and therapy.

Positive experience: Much improved. Couple of issues like the person that takes down the patients food options was out sick but no replacement so you get what you get and it is normally cold and you have to ask them to heat it up. Sick woman came back on the last two days and my mother was able to choose her food options. The staff though we're responsive and friendly. Very different experience than a year ago when my mom was here. In a good way. I think you can more trust your loved one will be treated well.

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is absolutely disgusting. When a patient calls for assistance, staff should respond immediately, not when they feel like it. Meals should be delivered on time, not sometimes an hour late. Medication schedules should be strictly adhered to. And, the one physical therapist, Kassandra, needs to keep her attitude in check, and not take out her frustrations on her patients during therapy sessions. Overall, this place needs some restaffing by more qualified individuals.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful, clean facility with a fantastic staff that truly cares about their patients. My grandfather was so well cared for during his time at Encompass. The attentive and friendly staff went above and beyond the call of duty to assist my grandfather and our family with any need we had. Their professionalism and compassion will forever be remembered and cherished by our family.

Negative experience: My sister was recently admitted to this facility for rehab after being hospitalized for Covid and pancreatitis which left her in a weakened condition. She was hypoxic from residual from Covid and sick with sepsis which they did not recognize that she was seriously ill. She was hallucinating and confused. She was so dehydrated! This was definitely not her normal state of mind. At times she was barely responsive and we couldn’t wake her up. I tried to tell them that this was not like her at all. She is normally very independent and lives alone. They already had her to be discharged to home with home health arrangements. I told them the doctor needed to see her. He stood at the door and said she was ok. I told them that I was concerned enough to call an ambulance to pick her up if they didn’t do something. They finally had her transferred to the hospital. If her family had not advocated for her she would have died. I truly believe that. They did not pass on report to the next shift and did not recognize signs of sepsis. Do not send your family member to this facility!!

Negative experience: What can I say the ceo is a liar after I had a sit down talk to her about my mother clothes giving her all the receipts n pictures of what item that are missing n they don’t care if u spend 400 dollars on big and tall jumpsuits for your love one n they stole all her clothes… so if u have love one there let this place order n provide the clothes… it crazy when they stole her bra n compression sock… beware of this place… If I can give a negative stars it will be a million negative stars.. wish them luck for stealing from the sick… cause they are going to a place they need to be at..

Negative experience: Do not send your loved ones to Encompass!! My grandmother was a patient here after having back surgery. On two separate occasions, she tried getting herself to the bathroom after asking for help but didn’t make it. Eventually, staff members changed her clothes and left them in a bag on the floor in her room. We ended up bringing those home to clean. A few days later, she began having stomach discomfort and over the next two days began to have low blood pressure, swelling of hands and feet, and later, symptoms of delirium. Despite the signs of sepsis, she was treated for constipation. Her health began to rapidly decline and was given a blood transfusion before going into cardiac arrest. She was transferred to Baptist South after being resuscitated. Had it not been for my father showing up to visit her for the day, we would not have known what was happening. No one from Encompass contacted any of the people provided by our family while these events occurred. She went into septic shock and underwent emergency surgery to repair the rupture in her small intestine and alleviate some of the damage done. She passed away 12 hours later. The lack of care, compassion, and incoordination shown by the staff at Encompass was and still is baffling. At the time of my grandmother’s stay here, the visiting hours were 3pm-7pm, so visiting her was very limited compared to her stay at Baptist South. The change in my grandmother’s health is one thing, but not being contacted at all while she was going in and out of consciousness and eventually going into cardiac arrest is absolutely the fault of the staff at Encompass. Encompass eventually claimed they notified us of her condition and that we had authorized the blood transfusion, but that is simply not true. We wouldn’t have waited 3 hours to come to the facility had we known what was happening. My family and I beg anyone considering sending someone they know to Encompass to please choose another rehab facility!!

Negative experience: My brother was transferred to this "rehabilitation " hospital and I use that term loosely. For a facility that harps on rehabilitation, I didn't see any improvements in my brother. For a matter of fact, I feel like his condition worsened at this facility. The case manager is the worst at communication. No updates on treatment plan or discharge plans. She is also very vague. She never returned calls and was steadily pushing for discharge of my brother to home. My mother repeatedly told her she couldn't provide the type of care he would need at home. What was initially supposed to be a 21 day stay was 13 days. Quite frankly while there my brother received substandard care. He was left wet in his bed for hours on end. His room floor wasn't mopped for days even after he spilled juice on the floor. He was assisted with basic hygiene sporadically. This place isn't fit to treat anyone and quite honestly should be shut down. My brother was placed in a room with a non working call light. I was told the issue would get resolved but it never was. Their solution was to place a bell in his room to press if he needed help. For starters it was hard for my brother to ring the bell cause his whole right side is weak. One bright spot was Nurse Lyle and one other employee (cant remember her name) that was involved in my brother's care. This place is the worst and by all means do not send your loved ones here. This place realistically should be shut down or hire people who actually give a damn.

Fantastic experience: Treated my mom great.

Positive experience: My husband has been at this facility for the past week and a half after having covid and being on a ventilator. The staff during the week have been so good to him and he’s made excellent progress in physical therapy. The weekend staff has been ok, but they sometimes act like they can’t be bothered. The front desk lady during the weekend treated me like I was stupid/illiterate for asking a simple question about the sign in/out book. It doesn’t hurt to be kind at all. You never know what people have been through or are currently going through.

Negative experience: Don’t come here. Had a relative who stayed here and he received the absolute worst care before he moved back to Ohio to be taken care of by my poor elderly aunt. They didn’t cradle his head or neck when moving him and he still has shoulder pain to this day over it. He was in constant pain and they DID NOT CARE! He did not get better. They neglected him, refused to call my cousin, who was his son, because “ we can’t find record of you being emergency contact “. Even though at the time, he was the only family that my relative had so that impossible… Worse, there was bugs in his room and he complained about one being in his meal and they said that was impossible. Ridiculous!!!

Negative experience: Don’t send your elderly loved ones here. Not if you want to see them improve. Call lights don’t get answered. Phone calls to staff don’t get returned. Little to no updates are provided. If your looking for acute care. This is not your place. They would be better for rehabbing sports injuries, or working with able bodied people. Not the elderly. Lakeshore is a much better facility. The distance is an issue, but it’s well worth it.

Fantastic experience: My father received the best clinical care as a result of compassionate and attentive therapists. Heidi, OT addressed all aspects of Activities of Daily Living while centering my father’s Plan of Care around his goals. Dalton, PT upon evaluation stated a goal of having my father leave Encompass ambulating on a cane. Not only has he exceeded the goal; he has shattered it! As a fellow healthcare provider it was easy to acknowledge the tasks the therapist were challenged with was not an easy task. If you are looking for your loved one to receive individualized, client centered treatment look no further. I will forever be indebted to the rehabilitation team at Encompass Rehabilitation of Montgomery.

Negative experience: Stayed at Encompass Health back in December '21- January 2022. Expected to receive an evaluation form upon release but that didn't happen. I think some were aware of my disappointment.The nursing staff, Dr. Cheung and the daily care ladies on the floor were wonderful; did a most professional job. However, I trusted and believed that the caseworkers and physical therapy staff had my best interest at heart, but I was mistaken. I was hoodwinked and bamboozled at my most vulnerable state; told untruths to the bitter end. Be mindful of this care if you must choose this option for you or your family. Cause all that glitters ain't gold!

Negative experience: Don't take your family members to this place. My sister had a bad experience at this place. My sister feeding tube was not being taking care of. No one new who fault it was. No one wanted to tell on the other. My sister had to be rushed to the emergency room. There are a number of other things also

Fantastic experience: My mother had a triple bypass and pretty much lost all of her movement. She went to Encompass for rehab and the nurses there were so nice and helpful during her visit. The physical therapist was extremely nice and helped my mother regain use of her legs and arm movement. i would recommend them to everyone. Thank you Encompass for helping my mom so much!!!

Positive experience: I hadna stroke and the therapy was awesome loved the staff but some were slow.to answer call lights .took me a week and a half and I was home .

Negative experience: My dad contracted COVID-19 here in Nov. 2020. They didn't even do contact tracing (all visitors had to sign in at each visit; none of my dad's visitors were called notifying them that they had been exposed to a confirmed case). Much like what one of the other reviewers mentioned, Encompass was horrible about communication. Pretty frustrating when you're in the middle of a pandemic. They ended up transferring my dad to a nursing home that would accept COVID patients, where he died 3 days later. If you go to Encompass, or send a loved one there, make sure you are diligent about asking for a communication plan, infection control protocols, visitor policies, etc. Do your homework before and during, and make sure you are PERSISTENT when calling up there. Even better: DELAY ANY NON-ESSENTIAL surgeries, if you can. From experience, I can tell you that healthcare facilities are NOT where you want to be right now.

Negative experience: Would not take my dog there. Very loud... I was there and hope i never have to go. Horrible.

Negative experience: Do NOT send your loved one to this place. My mom died last month after being in this facility and aunt this month. Hopefully they will be shut down sooner than later.

Negative experience: One Dr for 60 patients, no provisions for special diets, dirty bathrooms and floors, no control over the scores of visitors, ridiculous idea of occupational therapy. However, nurses were efficient I and caring though overworked.

Negative experience: The time there was not long, but to mom it was forever. They never update my mom's calendar. She did not which day it was. Being in a rehab place you lose track of days. The day I took her home, open person said to her, "you will be back." I wanted to know who said it, but my mom didn't tell me. Mom knew me, and it would have not been pretty if she point that person out. Two stars is because they feed her food. Bottom line avoid this place. A place that cares for people should 5 stars.

Negative experience: My mother was sent out of rehabilitation center and was in worse shape than when she arrived. They are all about the money. Worst place to carry anyone. When getting ready to leave which they said she was ready to go home.she fail. Because of that they rushed papers to be signed by her to be released. She had no idea of what she was signing. To try and drop there responsibly. Not going to work tho. Law suit against the hospital is now starting. Becareful there. Discharged with broke fimar bone. .

Negative experience: I mother, Maxine braddy, spent nine days at this facility. Every time I came to visit with her she was seated at a long table either asleep or alone. She regained no physical strength. The staff had a distant and unfriendly feel. It took the staff four days to diagnose a UTI, after being told it was a distinct possibly. She pretty much declined in their care. Beside the case manager, the staff was subpar.

Fantastic experience: Been there many times, and everyone a couple of people was so very sweet and kind!
