Negative experience: My husband had an appointment at the Neuroscience Center at Baptist South in Montgomery alabama, well I had called the day before to see if someone could transport him to the office, the receptionist was very nice and said sure someone would be able to get him in. Well the next day I pulled up called someone came out with a wheelchair that had ran over the tire. They struggled to get him through the first door but, when we got inside his was called but the lady would not help him get to the back where the test was to be done. He asked if she could assist him with the wheelchair because my back and ankle were hurting so bad I could hardly walk myself. This is exactly what she said quote "you should have brought someone in to help you if you know you couldn't do it yourself ".I've never seen anyone be that ugly in a medical setting like that. She could see that he needed help. She threw her hand up to show me this wristband that you wear to keep from bending it. There was about 6 people in the back she could have asked someone else to help if she couldn't. She stood there and just looked at him her badge had the name Chanda written on it. I've never been hurt like that before.

Fantastic experience: I'm here in the hospital and my nurse name is Tammy in the ECO department. She has been a wonderful person. Anything I needed she was there for me right away. Most nurses ignore you but she does not. She always walks in to make sure you're okay and if you need anything. Keep up the good work Tammy!!!

Fantastic experience: To the all-star A a-team of nurses, Doctors, administrative assistants, pharmacy, that have helped me since 2018, despite my less than ideal, frustrated disgust for being sick, down,, and unable to work, God bless you and THANK YOU. TO THE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION that me through the worst of it, helped me with my cobra reinstated so my insurance would help pay most of the bill. From the depths of my heart, God bless you, may you prosper forever for your good works and mercy and most importantly, for your patience and understanding. To the all girl c-squad than ran ER Thursday night Nov 14, 2024, and the nurse that laughed in my face despite my agony, I love you too, just not as much. GOD BLESS

Positive experience: I was admitted to the ER on Oct 17th and was driven by a friend. Had I driven myself, as planned. I wouldn't have found a parking space. Had I found one, I would still be sitting in my car sick or unconscious. Yet, no one attendant was present outside like it was some years ago at this hospital. There should be an attendant in front of the ER for patients at all times. I was so sick that I was admitted to the hospital. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I came to hospital tues morning for carotid arteries surgery I had gotten nervous because my surgery time had been changed three times but once I stepped through the front door everyone was so nice starting with the ladies that check ID, then the registration clerks was great, and once I was called back all the nurses, the lab tech was awesome, I am sorry I can't remember every person name because everyone I encounter was simply wonderful, I saw their professionalism and I immediately became so calm and felt that I was in good hands. Just few names I do remember Misty, Rex, Lora, Dianna and Jan my nurses in the unit. All praise belong to God and I thank him for people like all the employees I came in contact with this week.

Negative experience: There was an issue with valet parking on last Thursday, were one of the employees in a red shirt yelled at my 82 years old aunt. I was appalled of his actions. I want to make a complaint on that employee. I feel like calling Baptist South and speaking to someone in customer service. It will fall on deaf ears. No elderly person should be treated this way, especially when the employee was not provoked or antagonized anything to that nature.

Baptist Medical Center South

Hi Chemeka, thank you for reaching out. We would value the opportunity to connect further with you at your convenience. If you are comfortable doing so, please contact the care team at (334) 288-2100.

And when he was here bef9re the nurse and staff on The 6th floor was rude and very unconcerned about anything

Negative experience: I waited to post this but this hospital was the rudest I am have been inside. I wanted in the front door of the ER one 2 people were nice. Everyone else in the front lobby very rude and disrespectful. You ask question they would look at you as if your the problem. The staff really need some training. People are there for a reason they need help. No people to treat them and there family's like trash. I live in Tennessee and I pray to the Lord above I don't have to enter that business again.

Myra Elaine Hayes 1 year ago

Negative experience: Staff doesn't seem to care about their patients, had to ask several times to speak with the Dr on the floor (3rd) I work at a hospital myself so I understand how busy it can be but in a 12 hr shift you only see your nurse once unless you call to me that's unacceptable if I could transfer my mom out of this place to my hospital I most certainly would. Would not recommend this place

Alisha Mae 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Incredibly kind and respectful staff. Mother was stuck in the ER FOR DAYS. The doctors have great bedside manners, took time to answer all questions and were methodical in finding and eliminating contributing health issues. The nurses were incredible. They brought her food and took great care of her. She was especially impressed by ER Nurse Willie, due to his ability to walk right into the room, take a mental assessment of everything and meet her needs before she even knew she needed something.

Baptist Medical Center South

Hi Alisha, thank you for the positive review! We are honored to serve the River Region with excellence in healthcare.

Negative experience: I wish there was an option for 0 stars, My child was there 5 hours and was never called to the back for treatment. The ER emptied out and then filled back up with people, they then began calling new patients and never seen my child. Worst place to be if you really need help!

Lexi George 1 year ago

Negative experience: To be honest the 1 star is super generous here. I had an allergic reaction and the waiting room was full when my mom dropped me off at the emergency entrance while she found a parking spot. My airways were closing and I could barely breathe let alone speak, the security guard at the front told me to check in, sit and wait despite my condition. It took my mother having to yell at the nurses to get them to even take me in, I could’ve been gone in that waiting room had they made me sit longer. The nurses are were rolling their eyes and acting like they had somewhere better to be when they had a waiting room full of people and no one back yet when my mom finally got me back there; essentially making us all wait for no reason. The doctor herself tried to lecture my mom about how I wasn’t “having anaphylactic shock” mind you I have had the same life-threatening allergies for the past 23 years. And with my dad being a cardiologist, we know what the steps are when this occurs. Not even 5 minutes into her lecturing my mother I had to get up and use the restroom in which they unhooked me from my IV and told me I was good to go. I wasn’t gone another 5 minutes before I felt myself getting itchy and my hands turned purple. Hives covered my entire body in a matter of minutes and my oxygen was dropping rapidly and they had to hook me back up right away, and the doctor finally shut her mouth. This was handled the worst way it possibly could have been and mind you like I said I’ve had these allergies my whole life; I’ve been to the ER for this plenty of times before. Wherever these doctors and nurses are studying, they need to be examined harder. Very poor execution. Please do better in the future, no one else deserves going through these types of scenarios, especially when we’re entrusting our lives with these healthcare workers.

Negative experience: my dad was at the hospital after breaking his leg, both bones were crushed. he was kept overnight but wasn’t provided with any hygiene products, my mom had to bring his toothbrush FROM HOME. his CN, janelle or janele, let him sit in pain for 3 hours while both of my parents begged for someone to bring him something for the pain. the night nurse came in and gave him something as soon as he asked thankfully, but janelle didn’t care about him nor intended on going back to his room. i called and asked for a supervisor and to no surprise, one wasn’t available! they asked for my phone number to call me back but never did. the worst hospital to go to, the staff doesn’t care. don’t go here. and janelle, learn how to care about your patients. :)

Positive experience: Spent almost a day in hall of ER after being admitted. Then transfer to cubicle in ER for several hours, before changing to a room at 3 am. Missed a dose of my BP meds. 1st time I had to have multiple sticks before finding a vein in bend of right arm, preventing bending and making it difficult to eat.

Negative experience: My Wife gave birth Saturday and had to have an episiotomy (her vagina was cut open to get the baby out) and one of her stitches popped and she was bleeding and on Tuesday 7/16 it took almost 3 HOURS to just get a room while my wife is in so much pain she can't sit down and is crying and bleeding in the waiting room the staff could not care one bit and they had cleared out the entire waiting room and then everyone else that came in after us before she could get a room and we are still waiting on a doctor as I'm writing this, the nicu unit is not included in this because there are some nice and knowledgeable people there but I would not bring a single member of my family here ever again

Positive experience: After back surgery, nurses never came to roll me to a different side, as they were supposed to every 2 hours. Nurses were argumentative and did not provide my heart medication, or any of my regular meds alarm on pump literally went off every 20-30 minutes. I had to call someone each time as no one came to check on it. If I need a hospital again, I will do everything I can to not come back here!

Fantastic experience: This review is for labor and delivery /postpartum unit as well as for the OB/GYN services only! The nurses on these units were fantastic! I hope I don’t forget anyone (Dominque, Riona, Andrea, Dora, Debbie/Brittany (her student). Dr. Lewis, and Dr. McIntyre did great with my c-section. Dr. Jasmine Johnson and Dr. Henry Johnson were great with my care as well. His nurse Annie, also does a wonderful job. Everyone treated us with so much love and care while my husband and I were delivering our first baby. The receptionist at the OB/GYN office are also kind and welcoming.

Negative experience: From surgery to ICU was great, the nurses took good care of me, Grace, Shannon and Margret and others. However once they moved me to Rm 215, Nightmare began. Awful Awful, the lady delivering food nasty attitude. It seem to be a problem when you need assistance. Terrible.

Sakia Rogers 1 year ago

Negative experience: ICU has the most unorganized staff my mom has been there 3 days my sister who is under 16 has been visiting everyday at a different time had no problems until today 5/10 when this lady tries to get smart saying no one under 16 is allowed (like I don’t see it says minimum age 16) but clearly the entire staff is not on ONE accord with the Rules. Because clearly they done let her in multiple times with no badge on.

Jojo M. 1 year ago

Negative experience: RE: Rude Valet parking Attendant for handicapped petson. We arrived @1245 & asked for handicap parking. There was a male & female (w/valet shirts on) sitting on benches. My husband asked the male if he could park our vehicle. The man very rudely said, "read the sign"; my husband read the sign...the official posted sign that gave the hours the valets parked vehicles; that is, until 2 p.m. My husband did not see the hand-scribed sign on white paper taped above the official sign w/a change of hours, i.e., saying parking hours ended at noon (it wasn't prominent, nor was it covering the official hours sign). The male valet was very rude, repeating, "read the sign, read the sign, read the sign" (yes, 3 times he very rudely spoke). My question is 1)...WHY DO YOU HAVE SUCH RUDE, UNHELPFUL PEOPLE WORKING @ BAPTIST SOUTH?? And 2, please place proper changes in times of operation OVER the old signs. If the people don't work, they need to leave the work area or change clothes...after appropriate signs are posted & not give visible impressions of working when they are not!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been in and out of this hospital since April, 2023, coming from Nashville, Tennessee at the time, Baptist took real good care of me with no insurance at the time. Although there have been times when my visit is terrible too, but I prefer Baptist South over the others!!

Kevin Blake 1 year ago

Positive experience: our 23 hour stay in the ER for my mom's broken hip was very trying and exhausting. It seemed to take too long to get a room, but I understand its based on availability.

Sandra Roth 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: To me, Baptist South is the best hospital around the area. The doctors really care about their patients and the staff is very friendly. You get great care and a friendly atmosphere. The best!

Briana Martin 1 year ago

Negative experience: I usually don't do ratings avoid this hospital at all cost if you in the ER and u get admitted for a real bad infection you will be in the ER for 2 or 3 days waiting for a room and If you in a room and they will trow you out because the ER is over crowded

Trinity Compton 1 year ago

Negative experience: My sister was the patient at the ER and I was there with her on 4/16/2024. Everything about the experience was awful except the visitor sign in (she was very lovely and so was the security guard at the door). Sister came in with extreme pain in her stomach which had been going on for a few weeks and that morning she started throwing up with a ton of other symptoms. The nurse practitioner Leigh Parker came out the gate with a horrible attitude and so did the assigned nurse (not sure of her name). They claimed they couldn’t fine anything wrong with her that they can help with and just wanted her gone. Sister had denied pain meds and they gave them to her anyways. Sister asked multiple times for a medication that could help with her stomach that the nurse practitioner suggested but the Nurse practitioner kept going back and forth about it and told the nurse my sister refused the meds when she didn’t. I get having a long and hard day but don’t take it out on your patients. The nurses desks were right outside our “room” (just lazy boy chairs with curtains separating them, there was nothing wrong with the seating). While we were there, stab victims came in, wheeled past where we were sitting. All the nurses came back to the desks and started laughing about the first man getting stabbed in the neck and getting very graphic with their talk. Even the security guard was in on it. I was very appalled by all of their behavior. It went on for a good long while and then they got a call about another stab victim coming in and yet again even more jokes and laughter came from them. I understand different coping mechanisms with intense situations but this was definitely not that. The first man was clearly hanging on by a thread and these nurses and employees found it funny and even more they did it in front of other patients. One nurse came into my sisters corner to check her IV while continuing to make jokes. Just disgusting behavior.

Positive experience: This staff and floor was extremely helpful and great to my father, which was so much better than the floor and staff we had with my mom when she had her back surgery. Guess at this hospital it depends on where they put you as to the treatment you receive. Sad but so true.

Positive experience: I have been using this hospital since moving here 10 years ago. It is as most hospitals are today. Our primary doctor is great but everything else about the place is a large pool of lazy workers. Anyone who sits behind a computer appear to simple want to be left alone. They act like it is a chore to interact with you, much less help you with your needs. You have to call a central number to access your doctor's office and they act like they want you to hang up as they bounce your call around to finally find someone who will actually do some work and help you. Another example of how they are lazy is the stupid metal detectors they have you walk through. It is a game to me now. I empty my pockets and walk through with my pocket knife still in my pocket. They stop me and look at my belt buckle, then have me proceed without even knowing I have a pocket knife. I could probably do the same thing with a gun and not get stopped. If you aren't going to do the job right, save me money by doing away with the expense of a worthless process. Also, they have a process to pre-check-in that you do before your appointment but still require you to do the exact thing upon arrival. Most hospitals these days are the same. They become these large corporations that implement policies and processes that create a distance from personalized medical care.

Dianne Craig 1 year ago

Negative experience: Still waiting six hours later. The worst part is being triaged and then you can't leave since the insurance company will be billed. Otherwise, we would have left and gone to the other hospital. May be another four hours we were told. My sister is 84 and has 2 fractured vertebrae. She has been sitting all this time.

Fantastic experience: My 7a-7p nurse Andrew was the best!!! Very attentive and caring.I had a full hip replacement and I was on 3-South on 3/26 and 3/27.

Brian Wilson 1 year ago

Positive experience: OR team (Howell-surgeon; Smith - anesthesiology et al) excellent Recovery staff excellent ( Olivia, Shnonesta (sp?) floor nurse PT - Wayne - excellent Technical facilities (bed, call buttons,) Seriously BAD. No Nurse Call button on bed. Dropped TV remote - had to YELL "NURSE!!!!" for 12 minutes @approx 2AM, 3/7 before an aide came opened the door. Had I been injured, fallen out of bed or developed a serious bleeding/stitches/discharge issue, I would have pursued any/all legal liability options. When brought to the attention of two attending nurses, they acknowledged the problem ("old bed"). To avoid a law suit or serious patient injury, this should be addressed immediately.

Fantastic experience: I have received nothing short of good service from this hospital! I will always choose it! Great doctors & nurses.

Tasha 2 years ago

Positive experience: This hospital is one of the slowest-running hospitals in Montgomery; you have a better chance going to Jackson or Baptist East. Be prepared to sit in there for half a day. I had COVID and sat in there for the whole morning. My mother broke her leg, and they had it wrapped on so tightly that it caused her to come back because the nurse didn't have experience wrapping it. Just hope it is empty early in the morning, like 12:30 to 4:30, or when they are switching shifts.

Tre Bamberg 2 years ago

Positive experience: I had a hospital stay here last year. I had no problems. But afterward I had TONS of issues with them submitting my claims to my insurance. And when I called to ask questions, the “customer services representatives” I dealt with were rude and seemed really annoyed that I called. Then I was told I needed to submit the claim myself. So the care you receive is great but I will guarantee that you will fight for MONTHS about your bills and insurance with them. 3 stars for the care and no stars for the claims and billing department.

Patricia Mirabal 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: The surgical nurses, anesthesiologists and the staff on CICU need to be commended. I have never experienced such sweet caring people in a hospital as I did Feb 5. I cannot thank them enough for taking such great care of me.

Janet Oakley 2 years ago

Negative experience: Every time I have brought a family member to Baptist South they have lived up to their initials B. S. My husband had a significant brain bleed and spent 48 hours on a stretcher in the ER. He was listed as critical but was left alone most of the time. CRITICAL and laying in the ER. Thank God I could stay with him - in a straight back chair for 48 hours! Later we finally got in a room and the stupid intercom went off continually with loud announcements for staff. Could they carry something with them to receive announcements on?! Annoying for patients and family.

Tommy Friday 2 years ago

Negative experience: People are very nice and helpful once they finally get to you. Response time for calls to the nurses station are totally UNACCEPTSBLE. Waited 1 hour last night after calling nurses station. Nobody had communicated my request to my nurse. Currently waiting to be released from the hospital after PT ok’ed my release 1 hour and 10 minutes ago. No one has even let me know what is going on. Even though I called the nurses station 40 minutes ago. This is a poor way to treat patients

Stephanie Williams 2 years ago

Negative experience: The experience of going to the ER to get a procedure that was already scheduled was not a good plan. The ER is too busy being short of breath was all the ER could focus on. Once it was determined I would not be leaving my care was turned over to the hospitality. Again none of these medical professionals knew anything about me, and all I tried to explain is that my cardiologist's office just wanted me to report early so my cardio conversion could be moved up. I was moved to the cardiology floor (4) Everyone was kind and the clerk brought me something to eat around 8pm. I assumed as I was NPO that my procedure would be early Tuesday 1/30. The next morning I was originally told my procedure would be at 4p. After much discussion I was taken down at 11:00am on 1/30. Procedure was done and I was back to room 407 by noon. The radiology tech came up to do a heart echo and I assume I would be discharged as it was before 1pm. The hospitality came on rounds at 2p and he had not heard from cardiology and he made it clear he would have to write discharge order. I was finally discharged after 4:00pm. The experience wore me out. It was about 24 hours of waiting eating and drinking nothing all day Monday thinking I might have a procedure. Then just a few bites of food late Monday. I did not think to drink a lot of water before midnight. So the next day waiting until 4p would have been miserable. It was tough to make it until 11a. The nurse did allow me some ice chips. That RN was Sam I am, and he was outstanding. Dana in the procedure room (cath lab) was wonderful. Dylan that works with Dr. Crawford is awesome. He had to come to 4th floor and interrogate my pace maker as everyone in ER and on the floor insisted my heart was in normal rhythm, bit it was in atrial flutter. Dr Crum shocked it back into rhythm There was a male nurse in the ER that was very helpful but I forgot his name.

Negative experience: I have been to this hospital on two occasions the 1st was April of 23 for outpatient surgery for a abscess on my chest the entire experience was a mess from the start sending me to the wrong place waiting for over 11 hrs for a procedure that took less than 15 minutes ended up having to go back in November of 23 due to another abscess that was much more serious organs started shutting down three surgeries and was told by a Doctor "he can guarantee I was going through all this because of the abscess on my chest, when you came they never did a culture on that abscess" so how in the world did they know what antibiotics to give me? The ER on the 2nd visit was absolutely fabulous! The Nurses on my stay at the hospital were fantastic but that outpatient service was the worst I have ever experienced! Then it's like pulling teeth to get someone to call you back about prescriptions for pain meds! I am on a wound vac and those changes twice a week are very painful they sent me. Home with only 12 pain pills smh.

Negative experience: I came here yesterday last night after I left the urgent Care I was basically gaslighted the entire time front staff was nice and okay but once I hit the triage area no one seemed to be concerned there is a lady in triage with a nose ring she told me I didn't have high blood pressure until I told her the medications I took and my readings there was another young lady in the room with her but she left out when she started getting smart... I get to the back no one was really listening again gaslighting me! Every test that was given was given because I requested them I wanted to rule things out... My blood pressure was 199/110 top number I'm for sure bottom number I hope I'm correct I was told I would be kept overnight I will be watched and then I would wait for a room then someone else told me I would leave I waited for the Doctor the the doctor never showed so I left I had to retrieve my anti-rejection meds because they stated they didn't have any in stock ... Also one doctor told me if I didn't have a transplant I would have been kicked out two hours ago ... I just don't get why Hospitals are Gaslighting not treating their patients! Unacceptable

Negative experience: Most recent visit was terrible. My husband was in the hospital a week and left in worse condition than he came in. Not once was he turned. Only once was he offered a bath and that was at 4:00AM. We were told repeatedly that the next day he would be released but the next day never came until one excellent nurse was on duty Saturday we left and stayed on the hospitalist until he had all the orders written for discharge(thank you Donna!)

Positive experience: My husband recently had spine surgery, which went well, although, trying to see him after was a little hard. After he was moved to a floor, the first night was rough for him. The nurse that night had an attitude, and didn’t see his aide after she did his vitals. After that, we have had no more problems. He’s been taken care of very well. Most of the staff is very kind. The nurses are so far really good!

Negative experience: worst hospital ever had roaches wouldn’t let us leave after being told we could leave because we were finally done with everything. i was with my family in a car accident and i was with my girl friend on beds in a supply room. my mom was out in the hallway. mind you, we are not from alabama. the doctors were very very very nice some of the nicest doctors i’ve ever met but horrible service. i was in a neck brace for 7 hours. none of us were given anything for pain when my mom couldn’t walk and my girlfriend fractured her back, they told us she broke a piece of her back off but once we got back home to our doctors here they said it was fractured. it was very dirty there and they were very slow. we didn’t have a choice weather to go here or not but if you have a choice and can please go somewhere else. none of our x rays or ct scans were accurate either. everyone was very nice though, except that discharge lady & the receptionists in the waiting room are very rude & talk to slow

Negative experience: Don't come this hospital if you're in pain. Encompass rehab sent my husband for a vascular doctor to assess his blood flow in his legs and he got Covid. No matter how much you are hurting your on a timer to take meds. Extreme pain which my husband experiences daily was not being take care of. He has been on methadone prescribed by a pain clinic for years but they would not give him that medication. So his has declined mentally and giving up his will to fight. Poor service is all you get from this place.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately, I entered the hospital with bladder trouble and constipation, which got much worse after my surgery. Your staff has helped me deal with these issues. I was given much needed pain meds after surgery. Although I am still in the process of getting over my constipation and bladder issues,I hope to soon be over them before I go home. I have found all staff to be friendly, helpful and informative.

Negative experience: I was sorely disappointed with the service that was provided at this hospital, a nurse was allowed to not dispense to me my medication 1 day out of back surgery, I was in complete agony!!!!!!! Unreal, I was made to be up and walking with the nurse, not physical therapy personnel, as it should have been, nooo pain medication at alll!!! This nurse should be reprimanded, Because how does something like that happen? And if she's not dispensing my medication to me. Whom is it being dispensed too? Because I never got it until the night shift came on. But all that day. I went with no pain medication. And I'm not understood as to for what reason. She did not give it to me period I am thankful, however, for the night. Nurse who came on discovered this and gave me some relief. But at that point I had been the whole day with no medicasian. I had to have my son take off work. Because at this point he was not leaving me alone. At this hospital because now he felt like as I did that. People were not trustworthy and not really sure why this even happened. But that was the worst experience of my life when I left. I felt like I was mentally broken.

Negative experience: I went to the ER two days ago (afternoon of Sunday, September 24th) with elevated BP issues. First, the young lady at the front desk was distracted, inattentive, and failed to pay attention to detail. She also applied my hospital wristband way too tight. An RN later replaced it. When I went back to triage, one nurse escorted me, and three others were present in the room. One young lady was staring off into space, the guy was seated at a machine, and the other young lady took my vitals. As expected, my BP was high, but they never gave me the reading. They just closed the door and hooked me to the EKG. Then, I was escorted to a bed in the hallway…huh??? While laying there, I witnessed a parade or curt, dismissive, lazy nurses…one was more concerned with the cafeteria menu than patients. I encountered three nice and professional people on this day - Drew, an RN, the young lady who escorted me to my bed, and the lady security guard. My discharge papers did not accurately reflect what was stated. Montgomery, AL is in desperate need of a quality medical facility…Baptist (South and East) needs a complete overhaul.

Fantastic experience: If you need a great hospital in this area. Baptist Medical Center South is the place to go. VA sent me to this hospital. I received care like I have never before had at a hospital. The staff went far be on the expected. I have never been treated by Doctors, nurses, techs, food service, and even the cleaning staff. I would rate my stay and service I received at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery as nothing less than EXCELLENT! My nurses were Unbeliveable, They went out of there way to take care of me and my wife who stayed with me the whole time. They put me and my wife on a pedestal. Two of my nurses name are Hannah, and Rita. I wish, or hope when or if I have to go to the Hospital again that I get the same staff again.

Fantastic experience: Last year in February I was transported to Baptist South after suffering a minor stroke. The staff was awesome in treating me. After I was admitted, the courteous and caring staff continued to care for me. This is an awesome hospital, with a skillful and caring staff. Baptist South and Baptist East are the best hospitals ever. I wouldn't trade them for the world. They even treated my husband like he was a patient :). They made sure he was comfortable, and when they checked on me and my needs, they did the same to him. I would give them more than 5 stars if it were possible.

Negative experience: My father has been left lying in the ER for over 24 hours in a lying flat unable to move position. The day shift nurse today told him people pee on themselves all of the time and to deal with it. Not even joking about that. What a low life waste of space nurse.

Fantastic experience: Was inpatient at Baptist south Aug 2- Aug 5 in cardiovascular ICU. Received great care, all staff professional, impressed by cleanliness of room , personable approach by providers and nurses. Nurses Chrissy, Lizzie, Parker,Shanekia were the best, so patient, compassionate, answered all questions,. In addition the food there was good and I have never liked food prepared in a hospital setting. Hope I don't need to go back anytime soon but I would choose Baptist South again.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service. Told me I had no “discharge order” for home after 2 surgeons told me they had written discharge instructions earlier in the day. I guess my physicians are both liars. I cannot contact their offices because it is Friday afternoon and the offices close at lunch for the weekend. I came to Baptist Health South because this is where my spine doctor operates and had heart and blood pressure issues after surgery which lead to another specialist being consulted. If given an option next time, I would not use this hospital. Most staff act as if they don’t care, that they are here for their 12-hour shift and it doesn’t matter how quickly something gets done in those 12-hours. I am a retired nurse and I am versed in how the system operates, and it is not like this!

Negative experience: Spent two days in the ER waiting for a room, at first on a stretcher in the hallway. Was assured I would be sent to a room right after it was determined i would need surgery, but was released immediately after surgery although my glucose was low and they had trouble waking me. Nursing staff in ER was inattentive. Spent one night in ER without a call button, freezing, with only one thin blanket, a migraine headache, and unable to get up to use the restroom. No one checked on me all night. I even unplugged my monitors hoping to get the attention of the nursing staff, but no one came to check on me.

Fantastic experience: I had surgery just a few days ago at BMCS and everyone was so kind, from the greeter at the door to the cleaning lady in the hall. My nurses were great! The first nurse who gave me my IV was great and helped distract me because I told her I hate needles. My anesthesiologist Matt was super cool, Myla from surgery was the bubbliest person and so sweet, my recovery nurse was also kind to listen to me babble as I came off anesthesia, and my last nurse Brandon was the coolest nicest guy. Good luck with becoming a CRNA, Brandon! I was not expecting my visit to be so great. Thank you guys for everything!

Negative experience: This is not a hospital this is a Zoo. They should not be allowed to treat humans. Upon arrival with a life threatening condition my sister was placed in the hallway with a hand written #60 above what was her bed and hospital room. The RN Emily was very rude and confrontational and spent most of her time walking around. If we needed information we had to find her to get answers. There is only MRI machine in the hospital and in order to rule out a Stroke this test has to be done. Therefore, my sister was admitted to the hospital to wait on a list to get this MRI test. After several hours without any interaction with RN Emily we found a random nurse to disconnect all the tubing on my sister to allow her use the restroom. Another couple of hours passed we called patient advocate and spoke with Felicia about the situation in the hospital and she advised us to speak with the Charge Nurse Haley. To no avail she only made excuses for the horrible things that happened. After another ten minutes the RN Emily and the Charge Nurse Haley appeared with the RN being as confrontational as possible demanding that only one person could be in the hallway and everyone else would have to leave. As I prepared to leave the RN stated to me “my name is Emily” to which I replied “ I have your name” and the RN replied “ I have your name too”. This RN should not be working in any healthcare facilities. This hospital is not equipped to handle sick patients nor does the staff have the necessary training to deal directly with the patient’s family members. This is not a medical facility this a horrible place and nobody should have to deal with unnecessary stress while going through health issues!!!!!

Negative experience: The worst hospital I’ve ever seen. If you are military and pcs to this area; BEWARE. The “licensed” staff are a joke and as a fellow medical professional, I’m glad to not be associated with this messy place. This location is dirty, no one follow proper hand hygiene, and the RNs do not listen. They say they will do something and never follow up on it so you are having to call them 3-4 times, which results in unnecessary stress. The staff, residents on down, have a very “do not care” attitude which is dangerous. They regurgitate a bunch of textbook bs to justify their poor efforts, but I know it’s bs.

Positive experience: I was admitted to Baptist South 3rd floor after my total left knee replacement. The employees were outstanding especially Zee. My equipment in the room need repairing or replacing. The buttons on the bed did not work, but only on the outer right side. The tv didn't work, maintenance came in and found the plug was halfway out of the receptacle in the wall. You know the old saying "make lemonade out of lemons" and "play the hand that you are dealt". I really met some nice people during my one night stay. Room and bed were clean and I was treated very nice.

Negative experience: 1 month ago my BFF was airlifted with all her info, meds and insurance and went there to see her however, the er employees said there was no one there by that name. After 2 hours of going in between the er and the hospital unable to locate her a supervisor was called. In. She then went in the back and compared a picture to compare to JANE DOE. HOW ABSURD! LAZY EMPLOYEES AT THIS HOSPITAL ER front desk! Continued..After all this time yesterday my friend passed. This hospital killed my friend. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LoVED ONE HERE!! Wednesday Night she hugged and rubbed on her son and wanted to sit up on the side of the bed. They were not seeing to her well being they only wanted to keep her bedridden and doped her up on a sleep aid and probably slipped her morphine. May God have his way with this hospital.

Fantastic experience: The best ever!!! I am sorry and disappointed for the reception and help given to the lady who had a bad experience. My experience was totally different. I am black. The people who came into contact with me were extra friendly and extra professional. I appreciate each and every experience I had with them. The only time I felt alone was at registration. I even mentioned to them that I wish I could have notated each department as I went along. Maybe the individual persons you had negative vibes from need emergency 'customer service classes or another job. Empathy, sympathy, professionalism, caring and concern are all of the feelings I take from my experiences with Dr Howell, his staff and the hospital. Sad that others didn't get the chance to experience those much needed qualities. Because they get a10+ from me, my friends and my family. Thank you Dr Howell and staff as well as the hospital.
