Physical Therapy Now - PT Now

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this place! The staff is so friendly and helpful! I started coming a few weeks ago and in that short time, I am walking and moving better than I did when I was a teenager and I am in my mid forties You definitely get out what you put in, but they make it so much easier to put in the effort when they walk you through the process and encourage you to take care of yourself! Being a person of size, I tend to be sensitive about my weight, but they are not judgy or pushy, just kind and helpful! I have mostly worked with Tyler, but Darren has come in and assisted me a well. Allana(sp?) is such a friendly cheerful person, she is a a wonderful person to greet you first thing in the morning! Great job alll around! I appreciate you all very much!

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my 15 year old son here for about 6 weeks and every single experience has been most pleasant. Fantastic experience: PT NOW has been a life changer! Darren(Owner) and Tyler and staff are by far some of the best people I’ve ever met. Having had a long history of pain in my hip, they seem to have gotten to the core of my problem. They are professional, knowledgeable, & clearly know what they are doing. They have given me the ability to walk again, and exercise. The dry needling has been a game changer. Darren knows what he’s doing! Fantastic experience: I have been going to Darren now for several months. In the past I have seen several different Physical Therapists for a variety of issues. What makes Pt Now different is the atmosphere of caring. You are not just a number when you go there. Having been to several other Physical Therapists in the past, I always felt like I was just a number. I would go in, they would give me a few exercises to do, and I would be out in 20 minutes. That is not the case with PT Now. From my first visit, I felt welcomed and that the staff really cared about my well being. Darren took time to listen to my concerns and developed a program to help me achieve my goal of pain reduction. Within several visits, my pain levels were greatly reduced. Darren's approach to my problems was like no other I have experienced at other clinics. Each of my sessions are a minimum of one hour and therapies are changed to address how I am feeling that day. I have been extremely impressed with the care I have received and will be a loyal customer/patient for all my PT needs. I highly recommend everyone with PT needs to call Darren and give him a try. You won't be disappointed!!!!

Fantastic experience: This is a small excellent practice. Darren and his staff are professional, knowledgeable, welcoming and caring. After a thorough evaluation a personalized care plan with options was suggested. Over the last 8 years I experienced 2 frozen shoulders occurring about 2 years apart. After seeing PT offered by a large health care system in the area, then doing things on my own, I wanted to see if I would ever regain more range of motion than what I was experiencing. My doctor suggested this practice and I am grateful! After a few sessions I tried Dry Needling and was amazed at the outcome after a few sessions! Darren is an outstanding skilled therapist. And, and due to the small setting I was able to witness Tyler's practice with his patients as well. I would recommend him as well. There is a professional, collaborative approach at this practice. The office staff are friendly and responsive. It's a great atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had the pleasure to not only be a patient at PT Now but also a former employee. As a former PT technician with aspirations of becoming a physical therapist myself this was a excellent environment to work and learn in. The Physical Therapist’s are extremely knowledgeable and take their time in their approach to fully understand each patient needs and therapy goals. As a student being able to observe the physical therapist work up close, there was always an emphasis on research based practices and a thorough consistent use of the scientific method to assess and address physical issues. I am currently a patient with PT Now at the moment and the experience from this perspective is excellent as well. As a patient you are listened to and always informed on what your treatment plan will be and why you are being treated in that fashion. Most importantly to me the therapist here empower you with awareness, knowledge, and the proper at home exercises to help you confidently recover while providing support when needed. I’ll always speak highly of this small business and the wonderful things I’ve seen them do for myself and others. At PT Now you are not treated as just a number but as a individual with a dire need and the attention to care here reflects just that.

Fantastic experience: Spectacular service is the worst thing I could possibly say. These guys are the definition of professional. Their facility is clean, neat, and functions well. Service it self was amazing, and the appointments were extremely flexible.

Fantastic experience: After getting cortisone shots, working with another physical therapist, and seeing no results, I tried physical therapy now. I've had a great reduction in pain/burning in my shoulder since working with PT Now. Outside of the results I've seen, all the staff at PT Now are friendly, professional and helpful. Negative experience: They had a PT that didn't work out. He did some really shady billing practices. Instead of taking responsibility for their PTs poor behavior, they decided to call me 6 months after my appt, which I paid a lower agreed upon rate for while I was there in a combination of cash and card, to tell me I owe an additional $150. When I pushed back they admitted it was bc the claim came back from their old PT that was let go. Even though we knew and discussed when I scheduled that my insurance didn't cover this office. I didn't even get to see the pt that did my evaluation, and that a friend referred me to see, bc he was no longer there before I could make an appt. I'm on a fixed income and I don't leave appts without understanding what I owe and paying it. I'm extremely disappointed and highly recommend going to any other PT.

Fantastic experience: I had a total knee replacement and was really struggling. I went to PT Now and received the best direction to get back on track. I was guided each time I went and my improvement was great . The whole staff is awesome. Thank you all !

Fantastic experience: My husband Rodney has had issues with his back that included muscle spasms and stiffness. He has seen doctors for this and was always given medication that just masked the issue. He then saw Darren at PT Now with a prescription for needling. Darren (the PT) said he could give him needling but suggested finding out the route of the problem. Darren found the problem and treated him with neck tractions, laser massage therapy and massage. Rodney feels so much better now and appreciates the attention he received when he was there (unlike other PT businesses that are franchised). He feels like he got better service with Darren, who has over 30 years experience and owns the company. Darren worked with him for each treatment and didn't leave his side. Rodney highly recommends PT Now.

Fantastic experience: My experience with PT Now was great. Darren did a thorough examination and created a plan that actually worked. It was nice to have an accurate diagnosis and therapy that alleviated my pain. The facility is small and provides quality care you don’t see very often. You don’t feel like just a number. Each appointment started on time and you are greeted with a smile. All the staff members are warm and welcoming. I will recommend this office to anyone in need of physical therapy.

Fantastic experience: With ongoing knee and back issues that date back over three decades, I've had my share of physical therapy. PT Now is the absolute best! I was particularly struck by the cutting-edge therapies--such as dry needling and cryo--in which they have developed expertise. They are an innovative, boutique practice that is a refreshing antidote to the cookie-cutter routines that so many PTs are forced to do in the current healthcare climate. PT Now was not in-network for my insurance. Since I have such a high deductible, though, I think I ended up paying about the same as I would have at the practice recommended by my insurance company. And the care felt so personalized and focused on my overall wellness. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and highly, highly skilled. When the need arises, I will go back in a heartbeat!

Fantastic experience: This is a small practice, but don’t let that fool you. They’re all they promise and more! I’ve had two spinal surgeries in 7 years, the most recent in 2020. I hunted for a new physical therapist in April 2021 as I was still in pain after going to a different physical therapist (Aug-Dec of 2020) and steroid injections were not helping. I highly recommend this practice to anyone in pain. I was evaluated by Darren and worked with him a bit, but I primarily have been seen by Kevin. He is honest, straight forward, and extremely knowledgeable. I leave his treatment table in no pain - no more injections or pain meds for me after the first few weeks! I trust his advice and recommendations, which I can’t say for every doctor or physical therapist I’ve been treated by. You are given the time and attention that you need at every appointment. Their staff is amazing (Kasey gets an extra gold star ⭐️ ), and I’m always treated with respect and like family. Thank you, PT Now!

Fantastic experience: 6/11/2021 I had L4,L5 surgery for a compressed nerve and it went well but I had issues with my right hip and lower back from walking crooked for 7 months. So much pain and having to take massive amounts of nerve blockers, opioids, and steroid injections in my hip. After my neurosurgeon allowed me to have physical therapy I called PT Now office to discuss my situation and Darren Beilstein assured me they were fully capable of helping me. First session on October 4th I was evaluated at 78% disabled and I felt it. Darren started me on a light stretching program and administered Frequency Specific Microcurrent(FSM) Therapy. At the time I couldn't walk 75' without taking a pain break. After 3 sessions that week my pain was reduced and I started flirting with walking 1/3 mile at a time.The 3 months prior I was on my back for 20-21 hours out of every day with pain. FSM and physical therapy have allowed me to greatly reduce pain meds and I'm walking a mile a day. Darren has so much experience, he's very bright and intuitive, listens and explains things comprehensively. I simply found the best Physical Therapist for me and he has helped me get my life back to near normal state and I thank him and staff for helping me.

Fantastic experience: £I am seldom without back and neck pain but after the massage by Elly it all seemed to just melt away. If only for a day or two. Don't let that disparage you however, the process was amazing and well worth it. I think you'd be surprised at how much your muscles need some attention. Trust me on this one folks, go see Elly and tell her Moose sent ya. You won't regret it. Also, I hear their PT is quite excellent as well. Kasey and the crew are super friendly and personable. Check it out!

Fantastic experience: This place had a lot of patience with a medically complex issue. They rehabbed me from paralysis back to working out again. The whole team is incredibly knowledgeable and PT has different experience to provide. Would recommend whole heartedly.

Fantastic experience: I found this place by searching for "best physical therapy near me" and they certainly are!! Cannot recommend them enough, they figured out exactly what was wrong with my shoulder, and gave me the "Olympic athlete" treatment! AKA they fixed my shoulder issue! I highly recommend these fine folks to anyone in need of physical therapy.

Fantastic experience: My mother and I highly recommend PT Now! I have been taking my mom to PT Now for several months, once or twice a week due to an ankle injury and leg issue. The staff both at the front desk (primarily Kat) and the physical therapist,Tyler, were exceptional! They were friendly, courteous, and professional. Kat always greeted us, asked if we would like any water, and got us scheduled for the next appointment efficiently. Tyler was kind to my mother and really listened to her. (And she can be very difficult in medical offices, to say the least) She really liked him and responded to him. He was flexible in his demeanor and adjusted to her personality to accommodate it. Special kudos to Tyler. Mom will soon be getting a knee replacement most likely and we will be sure to use PT Now for follow-up physical therapy afterwards. PT Now was recommended to us by a friend of ours who has gone there for many years after a variety of aches and pains related to sports and aging. Fantastic experience: Best PT in Newport News. They truly listen to find the source of your pain and create customized treatments based on your unique circumstances. I have been in and out of PT for over 25 years and these guys are SO much better than the standard list of exercises after a quick eval. I had spinal fusion in 2020 and was still in pain and my surgeon had no solutions. After seeing Darren for a couple months my improvement stalled and he had me start seeing Kevin who has extensive experience in strain counter strain nerve techniques. He not only helped with the pain but offered guidance on tests and scans and aided in the discovery of multiple problems including a life-threatening situation. I had to have a fusion revision and thanks to his help I was completely off all pain meds in just 4 weeks. From nerve pain to muscle imbalances, I highly recommend Darren and Kevin - even if they are out of network (which they were for me) because the care they provide is priceless. They are the absolute best, know SO much, and the rest of the staff is equally caring. Go nowhere else!

Fantastic experience: I've been doing cryotherapy for about 2 months, and what a difference it has made. It has ranged from better sleep, feeling more relaxed, to experiencing less pain in my joints. I'm an active person and it helps when I have worked harder or have had a stressful day. On days when it's hot, it's a great way to cool down, AC on steroids!

Fantastic experience: I have been to a lot of physical therapist due to different sport injuries and it was always the same song and dance. Go in do some exercises and go home until the next, they never worked for me. When I hurt my right shoulder in 2018, I was sent to physical therapy with no results. In 2021 while playing softball the injury return. My doctor referred me to PT NOW. I was skeptical at first, when I got there Darren gave me a head to evaluation and came up with a plan to heal my should. That's something that I have never had done before. After going through therapy, Darren and his staff had me back on the field and to this day I have not experienced any pain in my shoulder. The staff friendly,personable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend PT NOW to everyone in pain.

Fantastic experience: My mother has been receiving therapy at this location for a few weeks. She was being treated for back pain which has significantly decreased while having treatment here and w/ orthopedic doctors. My mom is elderly and has some difficulty understanding instructions. The staff at PT Now were very kind and patient when working with her. I highly recommend them for PT services. Update Apr 13 2022 - Tyler was my mom therapist. He was excellent. He helped improve my mom quality of life.

Fantastic experience: I was an athlete suffering from lower back pain that 2 other PTs and steroid injections didn't improve. Darren and his staff at PT Now evaluated my movement patterns to identify the root cause of my pain (not the herniated disk, but the compromised movement pattern that caused it in the first place) and then tailored a recovery program that eliminated my back pain in just a few months. Previous PTs told me I'd never squat or deadlift again and recommended the same exercises as seniors recovering from hip surgery; Darren fixed the underlying issue and I've been training without pain since.

I've been going there for the last 10 years for various sports injuries, and he's always got some new training certifications. PT Now stays up to date on the latest techniques and procedures, whether its infra red, dry needling, etc. I loved the evening hours offered too!

Fantastic experience: Amazing company and wonderful work ethic. I was referred to PTNOW a few years ago for Rotatory Cuff rehab. I can say without a doubt that this company knows what they are doing and they treat each patient as part of the family!. My husband also came with me to some of my appointments and was equally impressed with their patient interactions. I returned a year later because I insisted my PCP refer me back to them for rehab after another surgery. They are my "go to" rehab facility. I have referred many of my friends and coworkers to them. Darren and his staff are encouraging and the atmosphere is friendly! You will be in good hands!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Physical Therapy for about 3 months now. Darren and Brittney are absolutely amazing. When I first came in it was extremely painful to even sit down. I had to stand all day at work. This was all due to a compressed disc at the L5 to S1 vertebra. As of today I am back to running at least 3 miles 3 days a week and am getting ready to start my training back for a half marathon in Mid March! Thank You Darren and Brittney for getting me here and we will continue with strength training!!!!

Fantastic experience: PT Now is such a great place to learn more about your injury as they help you heal it. I've learned how to prevent future injuries and how to keep other injuries strong in a really knowledgeable way from Darren. He takes time to explain to me why I am experiencing pain and how the rest of my body is adjusting because of it.

Fantastic experience: I met Darren YEAR’S ago when he worked for a pain clinic. He was fabulous. When I was sent here for my pain by my new doctor, I was very excited to see he had opened his own practice. I have been to MANY PT’s. He was, by far, my top pick. The staff has a wide variety of knowledge in many modalities. They never pushed me during PT as I have fibromyalgia too. They just gently encouraged me. I improved greatly because the therapist really listened to my needs and worked with me. This was greatly appreciated. In my experience the best PT’s are the ones that really listen to the client and let us be a part of our treatment plan.

Fantastic experience: I went to PT Now in the fall of 2013 for knee scope recovery PT. I was SO impressed with the staff that even now, 7 years later I still use techniques they taught me to maintain my knee strength. I was welcomed to each session and treated with respect and kindness on harder days. We didn't ever have the same session twice, and they used multiple techniques. Of course I am biased and enjoyed the massage and cold treatments more, but they also made me push hard to fully recover in the healthiest way possible. I recovered right on schedule (let's say, 1/4 of that is genetics & DEFINITELY the rest was PT Now). I maintained my strength because of PT Now and would highly recommend them to someone for any sort of PT. Kudos and thanks for the great care!

Fantastic experience: I had moderate constant shoulder pain that I had been "living with". My assessment with Darren opened my eyes to the logical reasons for my pain and how to treat it. 6 months later my pain has not gone away completely, and I will consult with my physician for the next step. Do not confuse this as a "bad survey" - quite the opposite. All of us will not be miracles walking out healed. I am very impressed at the entire staff. They are professional, respectful, understanding, and caring which shows every visit. I feel like they are family now and it's somewhat hard to say goodbye. Bottom line: these folks are the best I've ever seen. They will do whatever it takes for you. I will miss them all.

Fantastic experience: PT Now Is so welcoming and awesome! The entire staff works very hard to help you understand and be comfortable with the process. I was a repeat visitor with nagging running injuries which Darren addressed directly and efficiently. I appreciate how informative he was in making it known my running days weren’t behind me. I sadly no longer live in VA but thanks to Darren and everyone at PT Now since moving to Colorado I’ve completed two Ultra Marathons, multiple ridge line traverses and summited 3 14,000 foot peaks all by way of running and cycling. Fantastic experience: I started going to PT Now a year ago for Cryotherapy. A friend of mine told me about PT Now and how great they are. At the time I was going to another Cryotherapy place. I didn't end up going to PT Now until a month later. The first person I met and who explained everything in detail about Cryotherapy was Darren, the owner. Darren is very kind hearted, caring and dedicated person when it comes to helping others. After my first experience using the Cryotherapy machine (which I love so much) I immediately bought a monthly package. Darren even said he would match the price of the other Cryotherapy place that I went to. I go to PT Now 4 to 5 times a week. Overtime I've gotten to work with all the staff and each one is special in their own way. Five months into going to PT Now I injured my patella. I talked to Darren about it and I wanted to start physical therapy. I did not have insurance at the time. Darren talked to me about it and said he would work with me. My first day of therapy, Darren examined my whole body from head to toe. He came up with a plan for me and I followed it everyday outside of PT Now. I had 24 sessions and by the end of my treatment I had full movement in my left knee. My full recovery comes from Darren, staff and me doing my part outside of PT Now. I recommend PT Now 100% and I wrote this review because I believe in what they do! You be the judge!

Fantastic experience: Darren is the most knowledgeable PT I’ve ever worked with. I was in desperate need of healing for plantar fasciitis and after seeing a podiatrist for multiple visits and doing countless exercises that did nothing to help with the pain, I was referred to PT Now by a personal trainer. I can’t thank Darren and his staff (Patrick) enough for all they have done for me. The pain is significantly reduced and I have no doubt if I continue with their help, it won’t be long before I’m pain-free. I highly recommend this practice!

Fantastic experience: I had been having numbness, tingling and weakness in both my hands. Darren assessed my problem, explained in terms that I could understand what was going on, and provided a plan of care. After seeing Darren for treatment, within a week, my numbness & tingling were significantly less while my strength improved. Fantastic experience: I've had 4 different reasons to receive physical therapy since 2010, and each time PT Now has been there for me. Both Dr. Darren BeilStein and Dr. Brittney Kortz are true professionals who really care about wellness and have a balanced view of the needs of their patients. Due to their personal approaches, I'm even hesitant to use the word "patient" but I do because they have been so "patient" with me and my questions. During this latest round of treatments, Brittney has been amazing helping me recover from sciatica due to an L4/L5 herniated disk. The staff assistants are well-trained and just as personal. While I'm a believer in physical therapy and its benefits, I'm even more satisfied with the care I get at PT Now. Fantastic experience: This is the first time I have been pain-free in my hips in 35 years due to Darren at PTNOW. Darren has a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw upon when treating different issues. His state-of-the-art therapies is what helped me heal. This was a very good experience for me. Both Darren Beilstein and Brittney Kortz are excellent at what they do; they listen to their customers, carefully diagnose any problems, explain the causes and best methods for treatment, and make sure their customers feel better when they leave, both mentally and physically. The front office staff are fantastic as well, making their patients feel welcome. After I received a good-word-of-mouth referral for their office, I first brought my teenage daughter to PT Now in Fall 2018 for pain in her lower back (which they fixed), and I returned as a patient myself today after suffering a bad sports injury (hematoma in my right leg). Darren spent almost 2 hours with me, and I left feeling hopeful and am already noticing less pain in my leg. Fantastic experience: I went to PT Now for a sprained ACL. Every time I tried to heal on my own it wasn’t working. I knew I wanted to get back into running but my knee had a different idea. After 3 session at PT Now I started to feel a difference. My knee was feeling strong and I started to get back into running. There were so many resources at PT Now. There were lasers, creams, exercise equipment, even a machine to test my hamstring strength to see where I was starting. It was so cool, especially for someone that loves metrics and seeing progress. Overall, my experience was amazing. I went into PT thinking my knee would always hurt me and I wouldn’t be back to myself. I was wrong! I’m running more than ever. I have more knowledge about how to recover and how to continue to keep my knee strong. The best part is that I have an at home program to follow post care.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to other physical therapy places and it felt so crowded. There were so many people there, the doctors never worked with any of the Patients, they were all handled by the assistant. When I came to PT now it was the complete opposite. The Drs. Work one on one with you making sure you get the care that you need. I was extremely satisfied with the care I received.

Fantastic experience: I had pain in my foot and after a few simple tests, my PT, Darren B. told me it was an issue with my back and suggested, in addition to PT I consider an epidural injection. After going to the orthopedic doctor and telling them about my acute foot pain, they X-rayed my foot and told me it was plantar fasciitis. I relayed what my PT said regarding the foot pain being related to my back and told them I've had long-term chronic back pain. They MRI'd my back and found a bulging disc. and suggested I get the epidural injection. I specifically asked the doctor if this will help my foot pain and he said no, but it will help your back. After the injection, guess what pain got significantly better - that's right, MY FOOT. I can now walk without wincing in pain. I continue doing PT exercises to maintain and strengthen my back and core so this doesn't reoccur. Darren was spot on from the beginning. When I told him he was right over the doctor, he wanted no grandiose credit, he was just happy I felt better. If you need physical therapy, DO NOT settle for a cookie cutter clinic, go see Darren B.

Fantastic experience: My doc recommended I see a PT for the instability in my lower back and in our very 1st session I am learning things that will be invaluable to both me and to my personal training clients. Already looking forward to my next visit. He says there is no reason with the proper guidance that i can't get back to running! I had tears in my eyes! Who you choose for physical therapy matters a great deal, they are not all the same. Not everyone has the commitment to excellence, and the ability to impart knowledge as do Darren and his staff. As a fitness professional this is of vital importance to me. Anyone can prescribe exercises and throw medical terminology around, but not everyone is willing to share the "why" of what they are doing, and willing to help their clients learn how to better care for themselves .
