Fantastic experience: Doing well and playing softball. No problems with Achilles tendon. Twerked a hip warming up the other day, but seems to be doing OK. Trying to stretch too much on the right side. I really appreciate the program you put me thru. I am working on maintaining some of the exercises, but not as much fun without you all around. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! I've dealt with knee pain my whole life and had a recent injury. Jay and the entire staff were great to work with. They used a variety of treatment methods and gave me some good stretches to remedy the pain at home. Knee is feeling so much better after a few weeks. Great spot!

Fantastic experience: I had a really great experience with my physical therapy for my knee at North County Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy. Jason had an approach to my recovery from my injury to help me build up the muscles to increase my strength and stability, but he also evaluated and performed therapeutic techniques on my knee each visit. I felt like I was in really good hands. I was able to return to my regular exercise classes after the therapy concluded, which I'll be forever grateful for. I hope I don't need physical therapy again in the future, but if I do, I'll definitely be back here as they do great work!

Fantastic experience: I’m recovering from my fourth surgery in the last four years, and for the third time I am fortunate to have been referred to North County Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy. First, let me tell you about the surgery for which I was NOT referred to NCSM&PT. Unfortunately for that one I was kept in house at the VA. What a waste of time! The therapist there had a checklist and flowchart that he had to follow based on the type of surgery that did not take into account the patient’s baseline or pre-op physical conditioning. Every patient gets the same protocol. But as we know, everyone is NOT the same! After two sessions I stopped going and continued rehab on my own. In sharp contrast, my therapist at NCSM&PT, Jason Shaver, takes the first session to conduct a thorough evaluation, asking questions about general health, physical condition and abilities, and he works WITH you to establish realistic but challenging goals for the PT. For me, that means pushing the limits of what is acceptable without going over the line and having a setback. But again, not everyone is the same, and I’ve seen the complete range of protocols assigned to other patients based on their individual needs. Jason is the best at assessing where you are, where you want to be, and charting a course to make it happen. The facility has a large open room along with several small private rooms when there is a need for one-on-one consultation. The big room is well-lit with upbeat music that makes for a great atmosphere. In the midst of training there are usually conversations with staff and also patient-to-patient, and we encourage one another as we progress through our sessions. And the PT aides that Jennifer and Jason supervise are all helpful in keeping the flow well-organized. After a number of injuries during my 22 year Marine Corps career, I have had 10 surgeries including multiple joint replacements, so I know a thing or two about rehab. My experience at North County Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy ranks at the top of any pre- or post-op treatment treatments I have received. Dr. Jennifer Rodriguez, Dr. Jason Shaver, and the whole team at North County Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy have my gratitude and my strongest recommendation.

Fantastic experience: I've been going here weekly for a while now, and I have nothing but great things to say about this location. The staff is friendly and helpful, the place is clean, and the equipment is well maintained. The only downside is that sometimes, usually around lunch, it is crowded if there are a lot of patients, but that never limits my treatment, and it shows how popular the place is. The true star of this operation is Jay Shaver. He is very passionate about his patients recovery. His hands are magic, he has dozens of techniques in his quiver from precussion guns to myofacial release, and will do everything he can to make sure you leave feeling better than when you walked in through the door. He's by far the best PT I have ever had the pleasure of working with. If that wasn't enough, Jay has a never-ending treasure trove of dad jokes that will have you giggling every session. I recommend this place to everyone who will listen and especially those who are always asking me about those weird circles on my body from cupping.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about this PT Clinic and their staff. Jason Shaver was AMAZING, personable, and professional. I had bilateral scapula dyskinesia and he worked with me twice a week as well as coached me on the right exercises to do at home. Their administrative staff is also BOMB and extremely friendly. They will be my PT Clinic of choice going forward.

Fantastic experience: I have had a hip replacement and recovery from a fractured clavicle. Jason, Shelby and Jenny are excellent! They have support staff that is always there to help with my next exercise after the PTs have done the bodywork and set up the exercise program. Very comprehensive, a hidden gem for physical therapy!

Fantastic experience: I was referred here after a knee injury, and I couldn’t have hoped for a better recovery process. I had a lot of questions in the beginning about the recovery timeline and how quickly I’d be able to return to regular activity. Jay was extremely patient, while I asked a bunch of questions and started planning for the worst case. He gave me peace of mind during the first few appointments, while I waited for the results of what the injury specifically was. Jay was diligent going through each appointment, at the beginning of sessions he’d check-in on what kind of activities I’d been returning to comfortably as we progressed through therapy, and ensuring exercises didn’t cause pain. He’s a good dude, explains the musculoskeletal science stuff in a digestible way, and keeps a few good ‘dad jokes’ up his sleeve. The rest of the guys and gals who help in the office Savannah, Luke, and Ladd are just as kind, and encouraging through recovery. I appreciate everything this office did to help me recover.

Fantastic experience: Jay is an amazing therapist and went above and beyond to help me in my recovery process that lasted 7 months from my ACL reconstruction surgery. Savanna and Rachel were also amazing. I couldn't have done it without the 3 of them. There are not enough words to express my thankfulness to all of them. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends and family. I will return to them if I ever need to in the future!

Fantastic experience: Having rotator cuff surgery for full-thickness supraspinatus tendon fibers tear, I knew it would be a long recovery and needed proper PT to get back to playing golf and daily activities. I’m so glad I went to North County Sports Med PT pre/post op. I felt Shelby’s PT sessions were customized for each stage of my recovery progression. Her expertise and knowing what would be expected throughout the treatment timeline was reassuring and helpful. With Shelby’s diverse knowledge and specialized exercises along with her team aiding me with every exercise, I’m now fully recovered and getting back to golfing again! Fantastic experience: I was having shoulder pain from crossfit and started seeing Jason after a steroid injection. Jason and his team were incredibly knowledgeable and truly listened to my goals. Jason and David did a careful evaluation during my first visit and developed a plan to correct my muscle imbalances and posture to help with my shoulder pain and prevent it from returning. Jason was creative with my exercises to help me reach of my goals of playing basketball and working out again. The front desk communication was also great as Savannah always kept me up to date with appointments, copays and insurance coverage. Overall, this practice is personable, professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I came in for what I thought was pelvic floor issues, and after my first exam was told it was actually my SI causing me pain. Shelby was able to help me solve the issue and make my pain go away. She was very knowledgeable and great to work with. The staff are all super friendly.

Jennifer has assembled an all star team and environment! Great vibe, great music, lots of laughs, and lots of encouragement. Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Shelby Peterson over nine months for osteo arthritis of the neck. Her hands-on approach of manipulating my neck in addition to an hour or more of stretching has been life-changing. I now incorporate these exercises in my everyday routine without thinking. Her friendly staff feels like family and I have truly enjoyed the experience. Savanah always greets me with a smile, keeps a constant eye on my progress and keeps operations running smoothly. All of the interns and PT aids during my months there have been efficient, well-trained and kind. I see this practice growing and doing very well in the future. Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience here at North County Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy. My orthopedist Dr. Derrington (Derrington Orthopedics Interventional Sports and Spine) referred me to address knee pain caused by arthritic changes that was affecting my walking and Pickleball game. I'm just finishing up 10 visits and my knee pain is GONE. I worked with Drs. Jenny and Jay and was assisted by Savannah and Rachel. They taught me how to do knee strengthening exercises PROPERLY and worked on releasing and toning the muscles and tendons that support the knee. Having worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist alongside MANY Physical Therapists in my 40 year career I can say, with great confidence, these kind, caring, and extremely knowledgeable clinicians are the cream of the crop!

Fantastic experience: I have congenital orthopedic issues and have seen many physical therapists over the years. My experience here with Jason was hands down the best! His expertise was bar none and he was able to use mechanical therapy along with exercise therapy to really put me in a position to work out on my own again. Fantastic experience: I was referred to North County Sports Medicine for severe shoulder and neck pain. This was my last attempt at a non-surgical fix. I have nothing but great things to say about this facility. Dr. Jason Shaver, David, and his entire team were extremely great to work with. Savannah kept me in the loop with insurance coverages with every visit so there were no surprises. Super friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere and they treated each patient with individualized attention and care. I can honestly say, I had my doubts starting out, not with the facility and the team, but with physical therapy in general. But now, I'm so glad I stuck with it and my shoulder and neck pain has dramatically decreased with the in-facility treatment as well as the DIY exercises they provided at the start of my treatment. I've now incorporated these exercises into my daily routine and can definitely feel the difference! The one exercise I WON'T miss is the body blade. What's a body blade, you ask? Fantastic experience: I could not be more thankful for the knowledge and expertise of the staff. I felt heard and had the reassurance slow and steady wins the race! After multiple knee injuries we had no idea what was truly causing my pain but within the first 2 weeks we were able to pinpoint just what needed some extra strengthening and TLC. After 3 months my knee was back to almost 100% and I was able to return to my physical abilities fully. The aftercare instructions were detailed and held to their truth for continued healing. Light easy mood in the office and full of laughs!

Fantastic experience: North County Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy in Oceanside is a 5 star place. The place is very clean and bright and their physical therapist, Jason, is REALLY good at what he does. My sciatica no longer bothers me like it did before I had physical therapy. I can bend without pain and do everything without pain. Only once in a while when I stand up from a sitting position does it bite but just a little and then it goes away. The exercises Jason gave me work. Also, the staff is very friendly, helpful and efficient.

Fantastic experience: Best PT I have had. Staff was great. Mike works great with you and listens to your issues and then adjusts according to what helps and doesn't. PT helped tremendously. They showed me after care things to do to continue to help me. Areas are very clean and they are diligent in cleaning after use of equipment. I you need therapy I would highly recommend them 100%.

Fantastic experience: This team took great care of me during my recovery from full-hip replacement surgery. They are super professional and “sports” oriented which is perfect for me as a surfer. Fantastic experience: V E R T I G O! Do not panic, North County... help is here! If you have Vertigo, call Dr. Jennifer Sharpe at North County Sports Medicine and PT immediately. Dr. Sharpe performs the Epley maneuver (it is sometimes called the particle repositioning maneuver or the canalith repositioning maneuver) to put the crystals back in place. I had severe vertigo for over a week and in one appointment and 24 hours post-treatment, it is GONE! The entire staff is kind and professional. 10 out of 5 stars!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jennifer Sharpe is one of the best physical therapist I have ever been to. She is very skilled and dedicated to her patients and practice. I never get the feeling that I’m just another patient. Dr. Sharpe cares and it shows. In addition, all of the support staff at North County Physical Therapy are nice and knowledgeable too. I always leave feeling better than when I arrived. I highly recommend North County Physical Therapy!

Fantastic experience: The ladies at NC Sports Medicine are the best. My shoulder problem responded well to their rehab exercises and after three weeks I am once again able to to do things without any discomfort. Their exercise area is neat and clean and all the people there are knowledgeable and take great care in putting together a program based on the problem and age of the patient. They taught this old Marine one very important lesson: The "No pain-no gain" mantra that all Marines live by is not applicable in this environment. When in rehab, listen to your therapist - if you feel pain - stop. They will find another exercise that will get the job done. Thank you Jennifer, and "Rocky" and Jess. And also a special thanks to Adrian, who worked with me for most of my time there and helped me greatly. I wish him the best in his continuing pursuit of his degree in Sports Medicine.

Fantastic experience: I totally recommend Jennifer to any new patient with physical issues. Jennifer “Jenny” Sharpe has been the best physical therapist I have ever had. I have had a lot of minor and major injuries in my life, and because of that I have been through lot of therapies. I went to Jenny because of some issues with my lower back (I had a major surgery when younger). She has been very conscientious when looked at my physical issues. She inquired about every aspect of my life that could impact my back, such as surgery, sport, activity, lifestyle, driving, work.. Then she created a personalized, variegated and creative set of different exercises. Every session she would check my progresses and give me new exercises to target a specific issue, or simply to push my body to the next level. Every session I performed almost 1 hour of exercises under her supervision. Between the sessions with her and the exercises that I repeated at home, I’ve got very quickly back in shape. Fantastic experience: I have been to many physical therapists in the last 2 years. I have lower back issues and my goal is to get back to Salsa dancing, :). I almost gave up until I found Jenny. She asked me a lot of questions about my work, activities I enjoy and specifically gave me exercises to follow. Some I do in the office and I also do some at home. Jenny has given me hope that I will be better. She listens to her patients and gives them specific exercises to do. Today in my session I did a ladder on the ground exercise; and Yosolin (sp?) her assistant turned on some Salsa music. OMG, I was in heaven. Fantastic experience: My finger has multiple fractures, I have seen multiple doctors and they all basically tell me I am screwed or need surgery.Dr.Sharpe was the first person to give me actionable advice. Rather than just saying goodbye to martial arts I left with somewhere to start, somewhere to aim and we will see where that goes from there. On top of that she gave me the tools to take care of other more mild injuries on my own such as my locked up neck and the cut tendon on another finger. I left there with more range of motion and circulation in my fractured finger than I've had since the incident as well as a solid daily therapy routine to continue the healing process. To anyone considering her practice for physical therapy, she comes highly recommended.
