Oceanside Therapy Group

Negative experience: We reached out to Oceanside Therapy group in an effort to get our son additional speech therapy. While the provider we saw was awesome and the evaluation went well we unfortunately will not be using them due to their intake and billing departments. It took five phone calls and two months to get an appointment for the evaluation. On each phone call we had to give our same basic information over and over without any reason as to why they couldn’t manage to keep our info intact. On each phone call we were quoted $70 for the evaluation and $50 for each return visit until our deductible was met. After two months of being on a waitlist we finally got our evaluation scheduled about two weeks out. The Friday afternoon before our Monday morning appointment we got a call saying they needed a RX from our pediatrician and if we didn’t get it then we’d loose our appointment slot. When asked why no one told us within the last two weeks they said they didn’t know, probably no one bothered to run our insurance information even though we were told they had. Day of appointment while waiting for our provider to arrive at the facility (she was running late) a billing representative offered to give us a tour of the facility. We signed insurance paperwork and was again quoted $70 for that days visit by the touring billing representative. Less than one week later we received a bill for $190! We contacted them spoke to the same person who told us 1) the provider used a code that they don’t use often, they would look into correcting it and get back to us 2) the provider used the right code but we were quoted for a lesser level of evaluation and when pressed what the difference was they could not answer 3) we were quoted for the physical therapy not speech therapy, sorry not sorry, 4) right code, right type of therapy, they just misquoted us five times over the phone and once in person. But thank you for bringing it to our attention because our managers have talked to us about doing it right next time and sorry you still have to pay for our mistake even though we have documentation and know that we misquoted you. We have asked to talk to said manager and have been told we MAYBE will get a call in 2-3 weeks if they feel like calling us (conveniently when the bill will then be past due). Great provider, HORRIBLE office and customer service.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this place ! We were referred by our baby’s pediatrician! Mrs Anna was the best with my girl she got her rolling and we went to crawling after that ! We couldn’t continue due to moving but the patience she had and always reassuring us and all of our questions was so helpful being a first time mom ! Super encouraging to parents and babies :)

Fantastic experience: Next week will be my son’s last week here due to moving. So bittersweet because he was just starting to get comfortable and really liked Ms. Courtney and Ms. Breana. Everyone here is super kind and accommodating! Will definitely miss taking my kids here.

Negative experience: My child has been going here for over a year. Due to ongoing family matters he has been forced to miss two appointments over the past 2 1/2 months. Both of which we have given proper notice and were billed for. We notified the therapy group that due to ongoing family matters, we are unable to continue services with them. They still booked appointments for him and charged us for no-shows.

Fantastic experience: We've been going to Oceanside Therapy Group (OTG) since February 2011(when my son was 6 months old) till present. We started with just our older daughter receiving speech therapy, then both my oldest daughter and son (we have have a 7 month old too now). My son started speech at exactly a year old due to him not talking. About 6 months after that both children started receiving occupational therapy. He is currently the only one receiving services for Speech & Occupational Therapy. Both my kids have seen by Shari, Tony, Meg, Courtney, Mehgan, Amanda, Erin, Sara, Tara and a few others when were filling in for someone else's cancelled appointment. I did learn (quickly by Shari when we first started) that if you don't keep going consistently its NOT going to help your child. You will also be charged $50 (or at least thats what it was at the time I paid for missing 2 sessions in a row ). If you or your child isn't happy with their current OTG therapist then tell the front desk and they will try to work your child in with another therapist that may be a better fit. OTG has grown so much in the years we've been going. When we started it was a waiting room with 2 - 2 seater love seats and a 3 seater couch, a receptionist (who wrote everything in pencil in individual scheduling books) and just a few speech therapists. Now they have almost the whole downstairs of the building and moved to electronic scheduling and 4 receptionists. We've had a few scheduling mix ups and problems but thats only been because I didn't pay attention to my calendar or listen to what I was told and when my kids appointments were. We moved in April 2012 down to Rancho Bernardo and made the drive (in morning rush hour traffic) 3 times a week. After 7 months we switched offices to something closer to us in RB (let's call that place # 2) and 3 months after switching to place #2 we switched back to OTG. The staff at place # 2 was not conducive for my kids and after a few therapists it just wasn't working for us. The only downfall was loosing our spots with Shari and Tony (the most sought after therapists) but we wanted them back and were put on a 'wait list' so to speak to be back on their schedules when a spot opened up that worked for both them and us. OTG also has an annual FREE family day with burgers, hot dogs, jump houses, relay games, face paint, balloons and just plain old outdoor fun for kids. They also participate in the ACT! for Military Families Autism 5k/10k every year too - my kids love going to both events :) Josh and Rebekah (the owners of OTG) really put their hearts and souls into their business to make sure that the families they service get what they need. At times that comes at a sacrifice to their own children and most of the families don't realize what it takes to run a pediatric therapy office of this size. We will continue our services with OTG until Logan "graduates" - when that day comes I may cry just a tad bit!

Fantastic experience: I have been bringing my son here for over a year! We are seen in Occupational Therapy as well as Speech therapy. We love the staff and they are very accommodating! We will miss it when we move! Very Military friendly!

Fantastic experience: My two kids have been with OTG for about 2 yrs now. We’ve had a positive experience from the start. My boys have had the privilege to directly work with different staff members in speech, occupational and physical therapy and everyone has been absolutely amazing. They really do their best to make your child feel as comfortable as possible throughout the session. I’ve seen great progress with both my kids. Excellent communication between staff and with parents. We’ll continue to work with OTG for as long as we’re in this area. Thank you OTG!

Fantastic experience: We took our twins there for about a year of speech and food therapy. The girls loved going there! They took good care of them and graduated them from both speech and food therapy. They progressed a lot with them, from no words when they got in to normal levels.

Fantastic experience: Love them, like how they gave me a lot of feedback and things to help my son out. I wish I would have continued with them but we PCS, however I would highly recommend and they will working with you. Awesome people and staff!!

Fantastic experience: Oceanside Therapy Group is amazing and I highly recommend them! My toddler has been going there over a year and we haven't had a bad experience yet! We have used their PT, OT, and Speech services and they have been great! Our toddler graduated from speech in less than a year! They are professional, very clean, welcoming and definitely family oriented. They are a perfect fit for us and a HUGE support to our child's long and complex medical journey. If you are considering checking them out, do it!

My son worked with “Miss Makaela” She is AMAZING & my son has come so far. She is knowledgeable & very educated. She takes the time to learn your child & tend to their specific, individual needs. She made sure to take the time to always explain everything our son was doing with my husband & I. Unfortunately, we had to move. I cried on my sons last day. That proves that Makaela made a mark on our sons life. He has come so far. Thank you Makaela. We miss you.

Fantastic experience: Our little one has been seeing Miss Valeria since we started at Oceanside Therapy Group about a year ago. Everyone we have interacted with has been understanding and supportive with our little one’s care. So glad we were referred here and will miss them greatly when we move in a few months.

Fantastic experience: We have been coming here for over 3 years now and we couldn't be happier! My son loves coming, and I mean LOVES coming here to see Mr. Tony for OT. Mr. Tony makes OT so much fun for our son, and we have seen him come such a long way. We started coming to help our son with his extreme picky eating. When we started, our son was only eating crunchy, carby foods: chips, muffins, bread, etc. Nothing with much nutritional value. Super stressful for us as we worried he was not getting the proper nutrients that he needed. We were unable to go to restaurants, or travel because we were fearful that he wouldn't eat. Fast forward to today... We're vacationing in Hawaii writing this review! He is eating so many foods now! From fruits and veggies, to meats and rice. Eating out and vacationing is no longer a stressful experience for us. Thank you so much to Mr. Tony for this gift! Our son is healthier and happier and so are we.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing experience here. Special thanks to Pam and the front desk people. We had a few hiccups in the beginning but finally got the care my family needed. PAM is incredible and a wonderful person. She knew exactly how to help my son and got my son to talk. She set the foundation for him for the future. She is truly the best Speech Therapist. I trust her with my kids, 100 percent. The front desk people helped out so much and understood our scheduling needs along with communication. 100 percent.

Fantastic experience: OTG is an amazing center. My daughter absolutely loves coming here. Therapists, administrative and management staff are always professional and are willing to work with me to better my daughter and her treatment. The place is always cleaned by a very pleasant lady who constantly goes around wiping surfaces to keep the staff and children safe.

Fantastic experience: My son started here when he was 18 months old and had three sessions a week until he was 4, when we moved. We had nothing but great experiences with all of his therapists, especially Pam (OT), Mikayla (Speech), Jenny (OT), and Chile (OT). My son made so much progress and looked forward to coming here. Would definitely recommend! Clean, friendly, organized. All of the things you would look for!

Fantastic experience: OTG provide Speech & OT for my son twice a week and he loves it and is always so excited to go. He calls OTG as “fun room”. There’s never a day from 2019 til now that he was being forced to go but rather always looking forward to play with his therapists. They are so nice, patient, caring, creative and they would match their teaching styles with our son’s learning style and skill. Fantastic experience: The best place for your little ones! We have been going there for about three years for PT , OT and speech therapy and I can’t say enough of how much my son benefited from it. The knowledge, helpful tips and personable approach are just few of the reasons we loved about the practice. We moved to a different state and I still miss them dearly. I don’t think there’s any other place like that that can stand up to those standards for me. Our therapists were Dr KC , Ms Sarah and Ms Lexi for OT and Ms Nadine( speech) we truly miss them .

Fantastic experience: Our 3 year old son has been seeing Miss Audrey for the last few months and she is amazing! We were referred to OTG by a past employee and we have loved it. Our son loves going every week and has so much fun, and we’ve seen such an improvement in his speech since he started. Miss Audrey has given us practical tips to help with the speech at home which we’ve really appreciated. I’d recommend this place again and again!

Fantastic experience: My daughter was seen at OTG for occupational therapy and speech therapy for 4 years. All of our therapists we’re amazing! Especially Katy who took over my daughters care when Sarah went on maternity leave and always went above and beyond to find ways to help my daughter. My daughter loved all of her therapists and was always so happy to come to therapy, and she made so much progress!

Fantastic experience: We have been taking our son Nikolas to OTG for the past 3+ years and the overall experience has been fantastic. Our son was introduced to many specialist for his OT and ST sessions and he liked all of them. Recently he has been assigned to Ms. VALERIA, Ms. SARINA and Ms. EMILY for his weekly repeating sessions and he loves going to them ALL. He has a big smile going into his weekly sessions and even a bigger one when he comes out. The progress in his development ever since he starting coming here is amazing...we are super happy and appreciate everyone's BIG effort to help our son!!! The staff in the front office is always pleasant to deal with and they always provide fantastic support with new sessions, rescheduling or cancellation. We also appreciate the fact that OTG stayed opened through most of the pandemic. They kept the whole building clean, sanitized and were able to stay opened with the main priority of keeping all students and teachers safe. We highly recommend OTG to all parents and their kids. A+++

Fantastic experience: My son has been going to Oceanside Therapy Group since August of last year and have had great experiences. we started off with one speech therapist and unfortunately she had to leave the practice but we’re lucky enough to have been placed with Miss Armay. I love that she provides us updates after session, ask for updates beforehand and just overall keeps good open communication with us. She is very kind and gentle with my son but also good with structure as well

Fantastic experience: We moved here in November 2018 and immediately started trying to get our two kids into speech and OT. Unfortunately, we started trying with another provider who had us on a wait list for five months. I finally got my PCM to change the referral to OTG and both kids were quickly started with fill in spots and then in weeks were offered their reoccurring appts. The pandemic definitely messed up our perfect schedule, but OTG was quick to get us back in new reoccurring appts that better fit our new normal. They have always tried to work with our schedules no matter how ridiculous our request and time frames may be. We have been with them for a year and half now with my kids receiving OT/PT/Speech and my kids and I have liked every therapist that they have worked with since day one.

Fantastic experience: Between both of my boys, we received all 3 services here (speech, OT and PT) and these people literally became part of our family over the last 3 years! (We only left due to PCS) My boys made amazing progress, and over the time we were there I think they saw every single therapist at one point or another and they were all great! I truly don’t know what we are going to do without them! My youngest didn’t really understand until we were on the way home that we were saying goodbye for good, and when it finally clicked for him that he wasn’t going to see them next week he started bawling! So thankful for the relationships we formed there!

Fantastic experience: Love Oceanside Therapy! My son has been coming here for several months to help with his torticollis. Dr Chris and Dr Jennifer have helped him so much in these seven ish months. Definitely recommend them!

Fantastic experience: My son has been receiving speech therapy through OTG since July 2020 and I am so impressed! He has made so much progress and Ms. Valeria is so kind and patient. He loves going which makes therapy so much easier. I love their office. Their front office staff is accommodating and understanding, especially in this crazy time. I am so happy that we found them!

Fantastic experience: We have been so fortunate to work with Oceanside Therapy Group for the past year and a half. My son was diagnosed with Autism level II at 19 months, but, even before he was diagnosed per his pediatrician’s recommendation we started speech therapy at OTG. This led into utilizing occupational and physical therapy, as well. We have had nothing but positive experiences with this group, all the therapists truly care about the children and seeing them improve. My son loves his “therapy days”. Not only do they care about their patient, they care that us caretakers and always take the time to explain all processes and how we can better help our children. Everyone in the group is professional, yet personal. If you are considering OTG, I assume your life has likely been touched by autism (or another disability), and I don’t have to tell you how overwhelming it all can be! But, I AM telling you-these are the people you want caring for your child. They see your child as a limitless child and not a diagnosis! My son is now talking and doing great in all areas and I largely attribute this to everyone at OTG. I am so thankful that we found this group.

Fantastic experience: Where do I begin? OTG is amazing for so many reasons. My oldest son is Autistic and has been a patient here for 5 years. He receives speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. Not only is the facility absolutely amazing, their staff (from therapists to office support) have ALWAYS gone above and beyond to treat my son. They always listen to our concerns, provide helpful suggestions for things to work on at home, and a plethora of resources- just to name a few. My youngest son is also a patient for physical therapy and is so excited to go "play" on his therapy days. Every session is filled with fun games, crafts, and gym time. My kids don't even realize they are attending a therapy session which is exactly how it should be. Look no further! This is the place for your kids. Like many other reviews say, these people literally become your family!

Fantastic experience: We love Oceanside Therapy Group. My son sees Nadine for speech and Tony for OT. Both are amazing. This was his only constant during the pandemic and they have always been there with my concerns and struggles. Will always refer people to them. Absolutely amazing

Fantastic experience: My daughter is 2 and receives OT here. We started during the pandemic and when things got worse they no longer allowed parents into sessions with their children. I understand the reasoning but with children as young as 2 who can’t advocate for themselves... it just seems weird to separate them from their parents. I still don’t really like that. That being said, my daughter’s OT, Katie, is so awesome. My daughter sometimes wakes up in the morning asking if it’s a day we’re going to see Ms. Katie because she has so much fun there.

Fantastic experience: My son has been going to OTG for all 3 therapies since April of 2019. The pandemic kind of shook things up but OTG didn't waste any time getting transitioned into teletherapy. Right now there is a lot of fear going around, but having a special needs child really contributes to the fear of regression. Teletherapy has helped us maintain a level of normalcy and my son has continued to thrive, even at home. We love all of the OTG staff and can't wait to return to the clinic, but the flexibility they have offered with teletherapy is amazing!

Fantastic experience: My son Ryker has been going to OTG since February and I cannot recommend them enough! He goes anywhere from 3-5 days a week and it honestly feels like a family. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and above all- everyone has your child’s best interest in mind. Over the last 8 months, my son has seen majority of the therapists and I truly believe that each one of them truly enjoys their job and their clients. My son has made more progress at OTG than all of his previous therapy facilities, combined. They always go above and beyond to help facilitate the best outcomes for your child. I cannot thank them enough for all of the progress and milestones that they have helped my child achieve. His current abilities and success are a true testament and reflection to their dedication and hard work. You want your child to go here!

Fantastic experience: My son is been going to OTG for 4 years now and i have to say this place is awesome. even though my son had few many therapist theyre all able to help him progressively. the staff is very attentative and able to solve billing issues timely.
