Wes has been practicing physical therapy for over 12 years in the outpatient orthopedic setting. He founded the Aurora-Southlands branch of Pro Active Physical Therapy in 2009. Wes received his undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2001. While at Ohio Wesleyan he also pitched for the varsity baseball team. He obtained a clinical doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Regis University in 2005.
Wes has advanced certifications in Functional Trigger Point Dry Needling, Active Release Technique and Graston Soft Tissue Mobilization. He has extensive experience treating a wide variety of orthopedic injuries, sports injuries (youth to professional/Olympic) and neuromuscular impairments across age groups and ability levels.
Wes’ clinical interests include injury rehabilitation and prevention in athletes, overuse injuries in youth athletes and treating suboccipital headache pain. Wes also volunteers his time working with the Colorado Avalanche as well as the Grandview High School and Cherokee Trail High School sports teams.
Andrea entered the Physical Therapy Profession in 2005, after graduating from Regis University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Previous to completing her PT degree she earned a dual Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Biology and HPER with an Athletic Training emphasis. Andrea has worked in an outpatient orthopedics setting for the past 12 years. Where she has been able to utilize her additional trainings and certifications in Dry needling, ATC (certified Athletic Trainer), and manual therapy skills, including joint manipulations, and soft tissue mobilizations. Andrea and her husband Eric have 3 daughters and enjoy camping together. In her spare time Andrea spends time coaching her daughters in softball and volleyball as well as cheering them on in soccer and karate with her husband.
Danielle graduated from Indiana University in 2009 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Prior to that, she completed her undergraduate degree in ExerciseScience and Sports Medicine from Ball State University. She enjoys treating all orthopedic injuries and specializes in concussion rehab and ACL return to play programs.
She believes in treating each patient individually while focusing on their personal goals. By combining exerciseprescription, functional movement screening and manual therapy techniques suchas Graston and Trigger Point Dry Needling, Danielle’s patients are set up for successin exceeding their goals.
Danielle grew up in northern Indiana and spent much of her childhood at Lake Michigan and playing on the sand dunes. This is where her love for the beach and paddle boarding began. She enjoys going back to the Midwest to spend time with her family whenever she can. Other hobbies include hiking, paddle boarding, going to concerts/sporting events and spoiling her Goldendoodle, Tucker.
Ben has been a Physical Therapist Assistant for the past 6 years and is a certified functional movement specialist. Ben received his Associates of Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant as well as Valedictorian at Stanbridge University in Irvine, California where he grew up. In June, 2017 he moved to Colorado with his wife and three boys in search of 4 seasons and a slower life.
Lindsey Somers is our Front Desk Administrator and has been with Pro Active for almost a year. She is in charge of scheduling patients, working directly with insurance companies and taking care of the needs of the clinic. Lindsey started working with Pro Active as a Physical Therapy Aide. When not at work she enjoys dancing with the Colorado Mammoth Wild Bunch Dancers, exercising, and walking her two dogs.
Charlotte is originally from Orlando, FL and moved out to Colorado to obtain her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Colorado. She graduated in December of 2018 and is excited to start her career with Proactive Physical Therapy. Charlotte is a big proponent of evidence-based therapy and enjoys working with recreational and adolescent athletes. In her free time she likes to snowboard and rock climb as well as spend time with her cats Dewey and Kitten and golden retriever puppy Archie.

Negative experience: Initial visit, no one greeted us. Found out we came on the wrong day (new baby, scheduling error, which we take accountability for). It took 15 minutes with many available therapists ignoring us ans not wanting to interrupt their conversations and blatant disregard. At which point I asked for help. Not a good look for the first visit that’s for sure!

Fantastic experience: Pro-active PTs are Excellent! Ben and Bryan are both amazing as well as all staff. I’m recovering from hip surgery and I was going to advent Rehabilitation for 3 months. I wasn’t getting better, couldn’t walk, not making any progress at all. I changed to pro-active with my surgeon recommendation( Dr.White), it’s has been only few weeks working with two wonderful PTs Bryan and Ben, and I’m able to walk with better gait and balance. I’m so grateful with their services and supports. I appreciate this clinic and recommending it 100%.

Positive experience: PT here was great. The therapist understood my needs and the team was committed to getting me back on track quickly. My only complaint is that they initially misspelled my name, and they refused to correct it. If I wanted to access the online PT exercises, I had to misspell my own name to gain access! Now I need PT for a different issue and while I liked the PT, the lack of understanding about how disrespectful it was to not correct their mistake on the name spelling has me reconsidering going to them for my new PT concern.

Fantastic experience: The Pro Active team is truly a team! From the Physical Therapist to their assistants they all work together to get you to get you to your ultimate goals. I’ve nobly to a therapy office that goes over your exercises only sometimes adding a few things but nothing to really challenge you. Here at Pro Active not only do you do your some of your home exercises but you get challenged every time with different exercises with an assistant that is there to give you personal support and assist you as needed. By splitting up the Therapist time and their assistants you are able to challenge yourself more and not feel rushed out the door. Your home program is on a very easy to use app and then you get weekly check ups. Don’t go on vacation just joking their system also makes sure that you are seen so you are able to use the allotted visits that you have been approved for. All and all 5 isn’t high enough for this amazing team!

Negative experience: I was set up with a provider who treats TMJ about two weeks out. The day of my appointment, they called me to deny my insurance. I went multiple weeks with pain, and was really hoping they could help me. Instead they dropped me on the floor at the last minute. I've rarely seen such unprofessional behavior from a medical practice. I endured pain for weeks while they strung me along. I would strongly recommend reconsidering before choosing this practice. They have shown nothing but disdain and contempt for their prospective patients.
Hi Adam. I truly apologize for the inconvenience. We have a central hub that does their best to verify insurance on the front end and unfortunately you had a unique plan that they did not realize was out of network until yesterday. We do our best to verify in a timely manner as a service to our patients and reached out today once the final authorization was doubled checked and caught. We reached out to you this morning to let you know so that you did not get stuck with an unwanted bill as they do not cover the PT costs. While I understand the frustration, please understand it has nothing to do with us as a practice dropping you or denying your insurance and everything to do with your insurance denying us the ability to treat you under your current plan. Again I apologize for the inconvenience and encourage you to contact your insurance company and ask them to open up their network to allow more providers to provide care to their patients.
Negative experience: The therapists stood at a center desk talking about sport draft picks ignoring their clients/patients. After telling them an exercise they would walk off to chat. Incredibly unprofessional and initiative.

Fantastic experience: It is soooo hard to find a physical therapy clinic as an athlete (I cycled through 4 other places before finding Wes’s clinic). To find not just one therapist, but a whole team that I trust working on me, is incredible! They meet you where you are at, challenge you when you need to be pushed, and will hold you back when you need to keep healing. It's a clinic that I look forward to going to every week and I can mentally relax through my injuries knowing I have a solid recovery team in my corner.

Fantastic experience: My doctor referred me to Pro Active Physical Therapy for lower back and leg pain following a car accident. Fantastic experience: I completely love the treatment and feedback provided during my recovery from my TKA surgerys on my left and right knees. I would recommend Pro Active PT to any and everyone. Definitely not disappointed since I've became a patient of Wes. So if you looking for a place to get PT to better your situation, check them out. Mikayla is top tier as well which she helps the Physical Therapist out with the patients on structure activities recommended to be done for progression in our recovery.

Fantastic experience: I went to this location I give the place 5 stars. My physical therapist Kevin was awesome! The assistants that help guide you on exercises are wonderful. But if I had to rate Lindsay at the front desk maybe a 2. She was very rude to me. I needed something checked on my insurance. She never called me back. I had to keep calling her. After my session I would wait to set up a new appointment. She stated “what’s up”. Very unprofessional. I waited for Wes the manager to call me back about this we’ll be never did. So just wanted people to know. I will not return to this location. Luckily there is one closer to me.

Fantastic experience: Wes and his entire crew are amazing! I have been coming here for months, driving all the way from Castle Rock just for their care. I USED to have chronic migraines. Thanks to Wes' dry needling, stretches and exercises I rarely have them any more. He is simply the best. I have been to poor and even adequate Physical Therapists before. NEVER AGAIN, now that I know how PT is supposed to be! Give them a call. You will not be disappointed!!!

Fantastic experience: Ricky Huber is a very skilled therapist. I have been in therapy with him since my knee replacement. He is always on time when I arrive. Ricky designs the exercises according to the patients needs. He is very attentive to the patient's progress and keeps a close watch on the exercises I am doing even when he is working on another patient. I had a previous knee replacement 7 years ago. The therapy I have received with Ricky is far superior to the PT I received at another facility. Everyone at this facility is very friendly and accomodating. The facility is very clean and welcoming. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone and specifically recommend Ricky. Thanks for helping me with a speedy recovery and full use of my knee. Wes who manages this facility has a great team of therapists and assistants.

Fantastic experience: Both my son and I have been taken care of here. My 15 year old had a twisted pelvis and they identified the problem and gave him some home exercises, and he was fixed. I had a dislocated rib, which they popped back into place and gave me what I needed to heal properly. Recently, my calf muscle got strained. It was pretty. First thing I did was drive to their location and walk-in to see if someone could look at it. I didn't call first. Within 5 min Wes made room for me between patients, diagnosed the strain, gave me some crutches to use and gave me the care instructions I needed. I'm totally impressed with everyone here. Not just good physical therapists... They're good people

Fantastic experience: All of the staff is so friendly and Thea is such an awesome therapist! I felt better after every session and was surprised how effectively she was able to get my neck to loosen up to normal. This is saying a lot because I have had this chronic neck pain for over 30 years. I have been into therapy for it more times than I can remember and never before have I felt so well so quickly. They are definitely my go-to group for any therapy I need going forward.
