Rausch Physical Therapy & Sports Performance

Negative experience: I think Rausch is a little bit of a puppy mill. The PT’s have 15 minutes with you and then they are off to another patient. There is no real interest to understand what the origin of my chronic inflammation is. I have seen better PTs that spend infinitely more time with me and are better prepared. I have often brought in my notes from an MRI or a neurologist and when I ask if they have read the report, the PR said it’s in my file but continues to ask me what the doctor’s opinion is? Very confusing

Fantastic experience: My Doctor, Sarah MacMillian is an absolute gem. She is knowledgeable, kind, understanding, compassionate and just a wonderful person. I am so very grateful and fortunate to have found her and she is making a real difference in getting me back to 100%. Add to this the amazing cast of assistant therapists who care, pay special attention to see that I am properly executing my exercises properly and being VERY encouraging. I am so thankful to Dr. Sarah and her team at Rausch.

Positive experience: A Rausch massage client since 2022 and have very much appreciated the care and service provided by massage therapists like Kevin and Ronnie. Their skill and kindness have been a big part of my pain management. However, recent experiences with the front desk have been consistently disappointing. Today, I waited over 20 minutes to check out and schedule a follow-up appointment. Both the remote staff and the in-person staff member were distracted and unable to handle my requests efficiently. The exchange was frustrating and the in-person staff displayed a lack of accountability. Ultimately, I was able to close out my bill, leave gratuity and avenue my nest appointment — but by golly — it was not easy and required (3) of your employees. That said — there have been ongoing billing issues related to physical therapy services since June. Despite multiple follow-ups with Lovely and Jessica (currently November) — and I am still waiting on a callback to understand what happened and what the fix will be. Rausch is aware they made errors — with my billing as well as to insurance. To that end — while the therapists at Rausch are great — the front desk’s lack of professionalism and efficiency has detracted from the overall experience. It was upsetting to leave a relaxing massage feeling dismissed and disrespected.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank Dr. Austin and the team at Rausch Physical Therapy enough for their outstanding care after my total knee replacement. Dr. Austin was not only technically proficient, guiding me through each stage of my recovery, but also incredibly motivational and encouraging. His expertise combined with his positivity helped me exceed my surgeon’s goals at every milestone! The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive. The clinic has top-notch equipment, a convenient location, and check-in is always quick and easy. If you’re looking for world-class physical therapy, I highly recommend Dr. Austin and the team at Rausch. Truly a great job all around—thank you!

Fantastic experience: This review is long overdue! I first came to Rausch about a year ago with a strained hamstring. I worked with Dr. Katie on that injury and through her I found Rolan. The team here is fantastic and I am so happy I found them. Rolan is an incredible massage therapist, I see him monthly due to the nature of my activity, and he has helped me through multiple strains and pains. He goes beyond just massage, he truly works magic by finding the source of your pain. I don’t know what I would do without this place! They are fantastic. All of the assistants are wonderful as well.

Negative experience: I went to Rausch Physical Therapy in Laguna Niguel Town Square Center from November 2023 through March 2024 because of a back injury (herniated disc L4 and L5.). My PTs Dani and Lena and Ethan and all the other PT assistants who helped me during that time were friendly, but unfortunately, I had to cut my treatment short because of a billing issue. THE STAFF AT RAUSCH OVERCHARGED ME BY $700!!!! Little did I know, while I was busy trying to recover from my painful back injury, Rausch made it so that my co-pay jumped up from $7.50 to $75 with no warning or explanation. Because they had my debit card on file, they stole directly out of my bank account, AND I found out they had been double-dipping, happily taking the money my insurance paid them as well. When I tried to ask the receptionist why this had happened, she dismissed my inquiries out of hand and told me "that's just what happens with most insurance policies at the beginning of a new year." She was wrong, of course, as my insurance confirmed with me later, which makes the interaction all the more frustrating and upsetting. I have no idea how such a grievous mistake could have been made, but I and my insurance representative have been trying to call their Billing department to get a full refund, and after nearly a month of the Billing department dodging my calls and dealing with the EXTREMELY dismissive and unhelpful receptionists, I finally got $600 back. However, it's been nearly three months since then, and I'm still fighting with them trying to get my last $100 back. My back pain never fully went away either, so even though I vowed not to go back until the billing issue was resolved, I caved and made another appointment. But the receptionist not only scheduled my appointment on the wrong day AND put down the appointment under the wrong name (with my father as the patient and not myself), but they had the nerve to call my dad and ask him for a late fee charge for an appointment he didn't even make. I'm so glad I told them to destroy the information they had about my debit card as soon as I noticed the issue, or they probably would have charged me automatically for something that wasn't even my fault. I've had to deal with this incompetence of the highest degree for weeks upon weeks, and I'm sick of it. PLEASE, tell your billing department to return my insurance representative's calls and GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY!!! I cannot recommend Rausch to anyone who doesn't want to be swindled - and based on some other reviews left on here, this issue has happened several times, which is all the more humiliating for ya'll. Get it together.

Fantastic experience: I am experiencing much improvement from my therapy at Rausch, and I am so glad that I have chosen them. Dr. Tracy and her team, Caitlyn, Tyler, Sohum, have been amazing; I totally have great admiration for their skill and dedication! Rausch is the best!

Negative experience: I went to have body massage for several times. One time it took 45 minutes when it was supposed to be 60 minutes. Last time was just rubbing lotion on my skin for half of the time without working on the mussels. When I mentioned that, the masseuse started to work toughly hurting me with attitude. When I told her you didn't work on my arms she said time is over and left the room when there was still 10 minutes to do it. Bad experience for high price and I'll never do it again!

Fantastic experience: I've been a client at the Laguna Niguel Rausch office for 3 years now. Rolan & Irina are my massage go to's. Rolan uses active release to focus on key spots which has been a huge help for muscles that just won't release through my usual mobility. I have most recently been working with Emily for physical therapy who is very detail oriented and makes sure to keep a close eye to correct favoring of certain muscles/movement patterns that contribute to my pain. Great team that is very attentive to my needs and helping me through chronic low back pain! Would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: First of all the entire staff, including the doctors of Physical Therapy and their assistants make you feel like more than a rotator cuff patient. They listen to your physical condition completely, and make adjustments on the fly to aid your recovery. They monitor each step and communicate so clearly there’s never any room for miscommunication. I love the attitude of everyone especially Dr. Sara, who has assigned me to all of the Physical Therapy assistants so I’ve gotten to know them during the past three or four months and I look forward to each Physical Therapy visit because of the training and dedication of everyone.

Fantastic experience: I had a positive and successful experience working with Katie and Marc on my lower back issues. Katie took the time to listen to my concerns and create a helpful treatment plan, including exercises I could do at home through the Limber App. Marc's skills as a therapeutic masseuse also played a crucial role in my recovery by addressing any muscular tension. My two-month journey to being pain-free is a testament to the effectiveness of my treatment I received. I'm so happy that my general practitioner referred me to this facility, and I highly recommend it to others. Katie and Marc are the best!

Fantastic experience: Need physical therapy? Say less, go see Joseph Lee at Rausch PT immediately!! I came to Joseph about 3 months ago with severe knee pain and low joint mobility. I had goals to play soccer and mountain bike pain free but was not optimistic after talking to my orthopedic surgeon (no surgery necessary, just losing cartilage). I didn't think I would be able to play soccer for much longer. Joseph listened to my needs at every appt and really tailored my exercise program to my lifestyle. I have officially graduated from PT and have continued my at-home exercise program. Spoiler alert: I'm playing soccer 2x/week and mountain biki g 2x/week!! Joseph is A ++!!

Fantastic experience: Rausch Physical Therapy has been incredible. From beginning to end it has been an amazing experience! I would recomned anyone seeking physical therapy to come here. As a firefighter I have an extremely physically demanding job. I injured my back, possibly needing surgery for two extruded discs. But with the help of Rausch Physical Therapy I've made a full recovery and avoided surgery. They developed a tailored plan for me, starting out with a pain management/stretching routine , to a core strengthening regiment and finally a muscle building and preventive care plan to prevent further injury. My physical therapist Daniel has been instrumental in my recovery. He's been attentive, caring, and has progressed me through my recovery. He continually monitors me and adjusts my treatment plan accordingly. I would highly recommend him or any of his team that worked with me throughout my recovery. (Milena, Ruth, and Kathryn). All the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. They walked me through each exercise, correcting my form and assuring I was doing them correctly. They were always attentive and upbeat and made me enjoy my time at therapy. Thank you so much Brenna, Jose, Brisa, and Sydney. Fantastic experience: Kristen has been an amazing physical therapist. Before seeing her, I was barely able to walk and relied heavily on using knee braces because of my hip and knee pain. During the first session, she did a thorough evaluation and mentioned areas of improvement I haven’t even considered. She has not only helped minimize my pain, but I’ve been able to go back to activities I loved doing before my pain and go back to normal work. I’ve gotten my active lifestyle back and I’m extremely grateful for the work she’s done.

Fantastic experience: Sarah is the best PT around, she cares about her patients and does what’s best for them even if that means pushing them to try harder. After breaking my ankle I was scared to start PT as most people I know choose not to do it but I wanted to build my strength back the right way and Sarah and the Rausch PT Laguna Niguel team are some of the kindest and most supportive people to help alongside that journey. Not to mention the front desk staff is so kind and attentive, they’re wonderful at their jobs and make you feel welcome right when you walk in the door!

I cannot recommend her enough. Do not struggle anymore in this area. She can provide you with relief of these symptoms.

Fantastic experience: I wish to pay tribute to Eric, one of the PT assistants at Rausch PT. He is very knowledgeable and exacting in his therapy instructions and watches to make sure you are doing it correctly. He explains what each exercise is for and asks for feedback. I also watched him training a new assistant and he was very thoughtful and explained to her what each exercise was for. He is a true asset to Rausch.

Fantastic experience: The absolute best Physical Therapy center ever! I use a wheelchair and have had my fair share of positive and negative experiences with physical therapists. At Rausch Physical Therapy they listen and care for their patients with such love and professionalism that is hard to find. They go above and beyond to make their office welcoming and comfortable with music and relaxing television. If you need help with your pelvic floor muscles, Marena is your gal! She has helped me improve the function of my weakened muscles and my mobility. She and the other PTs have taken my disability into account and altered the stretches and exercises to accommodate me. I couldn’t asked for a better team working with me to improve my life.

Fantastic experience: When I came to Rausch I was a basket case on a Walker. The staff here got me off my Walker to a cane and now I walk like a normal person. The people here genuinely care about you and that comes through with every session I attended. I'll always be grateful to these folks for giving me my life back.

I suffered with a frozen shoulder for two years and did two rounds of physical therapy at a different office and never got any relief from the pain. Within a couple weeks of starting pt with RENEE at Rausch Physical Therapy I started getting my range of motion back, no longer needed anti-inflammatories, and was almost pain free. Renee is the best!!! If you need physical therapy then this is your best choice.
