Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital: Reviews
Negative experience: So I had a mixed experience with spalding rehabilitation with my wife, while the therapist and nurses where great, I feel there dr is incompetent, he removed a very crucial medication from my wife leaving us back in the hospital 2 days after we left, they thought she was just sick but really she was filling up with fluid because of them taking her off medication she had been on for almost a year. The Dr at the hospital could give me no reason why they would have removed this medication saying it was probably just missed and a mistake. They need to be much more careful and almost killed my wife from a lazy incompetent on site dr.
We are sorry to hear of this experience in our HCA HealthONE Spalding Rehabilitation and would like to look into this further. Please call our Patient Liaison at 303-873-5988 so that we can get further information to address the situation.
Negative experience: Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital (Aurora, CO) Part of HCA / HealthONE • Approx 100 beds Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital doesn’t attract the same headlines as its larger HCA counterparts, but it carries its own quiet story. Tucked off Potomac Street in Aurora, it’s the smallest member of the HealthONE network and focuses exclusively on recovery—stroke rehab, spinal injury, and post-surgical therapy. On Google it earns a modest 3.9 stars from a few hundred reviews, which might seem good until you read the text behind the numbers. The five-star posts often sound personal and heartfelt. Families talk about the therapist who coaxed a loved one back to walking, the nurse who stayed late to wash a patient’s hair, the staff who “made us feel human again.” Those reviews are powerful because they’re detailed; they sound like the work of real people doing an unglamorous job with compassion. Then the other side appears. The one- and two-star reviews describe long response times, missed call lights, and what one patient called “a rehab floor that sometimes feels like a holding pattern.” Another wrote, “Therapists were wonderful, but nights were short-staffed and nobody checked on me for hours.” The tension between gratitude and neglect runs through nearly every HCA facility, and it surfaces here too, only on a smaller stage. From mid-2023 through early 2025, Spalding’s rating barely moved—a few brief spikes of quick five-star blurbs (“great staff,” “awesome team”) surrounding corporate publicity pushes, followed by a return to mixed reviews. The consistency of those cycles suggests that even at the rehabilitation level, HCA’s marketing cadence and staffing strain move in tandem. Inside the building, employees echo the same fatigue. On Indeed, therapists praise teamwork and describe “family-like culture,” but warn of thin coverage and constant turnover in support roles. “We give everything,” one wrote, “and still run out of hours.” Spalding hasn’t appeared in recent enforcement filings the way Swedish or Sky Ridge have, yet it operates under the same corporate umbrella that paid national settlements in 2025 for the TRAP nurse-contract case and the patient-data breach. The structure is smaller, but the DNA is the same. And that’s why I keep writing. My own experience with HCA happened at a sister hospital, not here, but the patterns are identical—the language, the timing, the pressure to look better instead of be better. A corporation doesn’t change its culture simply because a facility specializes in rehabilitation. The patients here are recovering from surgeries or strokes, trusting that “rehab” means safe ground. I know how quickly that trust can crumble. So when you look at Spalding online, don’t stop at the average. Google sorts by “most relevant,” but that’s not always most honest. Don’t sort by “newest.” Don’t sort by “highest.” Tap “lowest.” Then read—ten stories, fifteen, twenty—from people who lived it or from families still trying to rebuild. Some recovered; some didn’t. Their words are unfiltered and real. That’s where the truth lives. Make your choices with full information. It’s your call—and sometimes it’s your life, or the life of someone you love. You can find me on Substack, where I’ll post the supporting filings and the full seven-hospital Colorado overview later this week.
Fantastic experience: Our 30 y.o. son had complex lower back surgery and was unable to walk afterwards. Some PT/OT had begun in the hospital, and after 12-days in the hospital he was transported to Spalding for acute rehab where he had 3 hours of PT & OT each day. The progress he made over three weeks at Spalding was significant. The physical and occupational therapists were experienced, competent and caring (Ryan, Teri, Rod, Nicki, Ella, Kelly, Carolyn, Caitlin, Anna, Jan). The Physical Medical & Rehabilitation (PMR) doctors (Dr. Li, Dr. Connor) were partners with our son in understanding his pain to best address and it with as simplified a pharmaceutical regimen as possible. The nursing staff were responsive, knowledgeable and caring (Stephanie - charge nurse, Meg, Marsha, Martha, Collin, Reyna, Yacob, John, Larissa, Dzenan, and CNAs Becca, Alicia). The cafeteria staff were friendly and provided nutritious meals and the cleaners kept things clean. He arrived at Spalding on a gurney. Three weeks later he got himself from a wheelchair into our car to return to his home. Although there is a longer journey ahead, he sets off with the hope and independence he learned at Spalding. One area for improvement would be with case management. Getting our son into an outpatient rehab facility following Spalding was much more complicated and frustrating than it needed to be.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We are thrilled to hear you had a positive experience with our Spalding team. Your feedback means a lot to us, and we’re grateful to have been part of your journey.
Negative experience: Highly disappointed with this facility. We have called the number several times to schedule a tour and left messages over the last week however no one returns phone calls. Stopped by there today to inquire about a tour and was very rudely informed that an appointment was required to tour. We informed the gentleman of our phone calls and, again very rude, he informed us phone calls are not returned which is in line with what we experienced. He then handed us a form to fill out (that we could not take with us, we had to fill it out on the spot) and said someone would call us to schedule a tour based on the form. We left the form with him and went and successfully tour another facility on the list we were provided by the hospital. I should note we were able to schedule the tour of the other facility same day with without any issues.
We sincerely apologize for any tour scheduling issues experienced at HCA HealthONE Spalding Rehabilitation and value this feedback. We are dedicated to providing timely, patient-centered, quality care, and regret that we fell short of expectations. As we work to improve our processes, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at 303-873-5988 to express your concerns.
Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of staying at Spalding for rehab after a brain injury and post op. Everything single staff Member treated me like family. When I say that every single staff member is an example of what community looks like. Kind, safe, understanding, respectful, caring just to name a few. When I came to Spalding I couldn’t talk, barely walking, hold silverware wear, nor do any ADLs. I can confidently do all of this with minimal help. Thank y’all so much for everything. I couldn’t have done it without your team! Much Love. PSA: If you a looking for a solid rehabilitation center this is the place for you and/or your family.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We are thrilled to hear you had a positive experience with our HCA HealthONE Spalding Rehabilitation team. Your feedback means a lot to us, and we’re grateful to have been part of your journey.
Fantastic experience: I have been there in the past, and they are awesome!
Jerry, thank you so much for the positive review!
Fantastic experience: If you are looking for an Inpatient physical therapy.Spaulding Inpatient physical therapy is the best Physical therapy in Colorado. They use traditional form of therapy as well as Non traditional.Such as a Neuromuscular electrical stimulation device. As well as,Trigger point injections and dry needling techniques. All of the people are phenomenal. But the ones that stood out the most were Ryan,Emily,Rebecca and Nicki.
We really appreciate you sharing your experience with us! It’s wonderful to know you felt well taken care of. Let us know if you need anything moving forward. We’re always here to assist you!
Fantastic experience: I am glad I choose Spalding Rehab Hospital in Aurora. Everyone (nurses, rehab staff, physicians, administrators) were professionals, knowledgeable, kind. I spent 10 days there after my surgery. During the week PT, OT, Speech therapy, total three hours per day. Every morning got the schedule for the day. Food was excellent, like at home, even brought back memories from my childhood. I also appreciated that before leaving the rehab, they trained my husband how to take care of me when we are home. That was very helpful. Loved the challenging tests I needed to do during Speech at the beginning and at the end, so we could see the progress. After arriving first question was what is my goal to achieve in rehab, and before I left, they wanted to know if I was able to achieve it or not. I highly recommend this facility the everyone in need.

Fantastic experience: Spaulding is the best.. they have a great staff.. routines.. and trully care about their patients.
This is so great to hear. Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we did. Have a great day!
Fantastic experience: I had a bad skiing accident on April 30th and landed in St. Anthony's hospital in Lakewood, CO for five days. After that I was transferred to Spalding Rehab Hospital for 10 days. The staff at Spaulding is professional, friendly and helpful. My therapy included PT, OT and Speech, I suffered fractured ribs, clavicle and scapula as well as a brain injury. The therapists were a big help to me as I had to regain my balance, brain functions, walking, endurance and climbing stairs. The daily program was the right speed, timing and something to look forward to every day. The therapists are all rock stars! The nursing staff is also excellent and are available 24x7. The food is good and I liked the cafeteria for breakfast and lunch and for dinner your food was brought to your room and was still warm. Spalding Rehab Hospital is a well run facility and they take good care of you.
Wow, thank you for such a great review! We're so happy to hear that you had a positive experience with us. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything in the future—we’re always here to support you!
Fantastic experience: I had a nice stay there a few years ago? Except the bed sucked.
Hi, we are honored to have earned so many stars. Have a wonderful week!
Negative experience: I was at the Aurora rehab and and the therapists were great but the Doctor was very rude and the nurses on night shift were horrible I was refused pain medication for sometimes hours on in which makes therapy easier because if you are in excruciating pain how are you supposed to focus on getting better i was supposed to get medication at 2am and didn't receive it until 6:20am then got a different one at 6:25am then another one at 7am and the night nurses were horrible whenever I ask Jonesia anything she was almost hostile i honestly was afraid of her it makes me wonder if she is really cut out for the taking care of vulnerable people. And communication was horrible when trying to get a follow up with the Vascular Surgeon they thought I was still at Spalding they were unaware that I had been discharged to home

Fantastic experience: I didn't realize that I needed rehab until I experienced the huge change I made in just a week because of the amazing staff here. I really felt taken care of. All of the therapists are top notch, also accepting and patient. The "gym" where people do their therapy is huge and has everything and more for patients to use with their therapists. I am so grateful for all of the many people who helped me here. I highly recommend it!
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We will be sure to pass your comments along to the entire Spalding team. Have a great day!
Positive experience: The care was okay not enough help maybe 1 nurse or tech per 5-6 patients worse at. Night the doctor was great came in every morning to check on you. Pt and ot was great they did a lot to help keep you going and to get out of bed and get you back home the food was good and nice big dinning area. The cooking staff was great very helpful, friendly, and great to be around.
Thank you for your review of HCA HealthONE Spalding Rehabilitation! We take pride in serving the community and appreciate you taking the time to write such a kind review. We will be sure to pass it along to our staff.
Fantastic experience: Spalding is a great rehabilitation center.. the staff is friendly. They come to your rescue when you don't know what you're going to do. I would recommend them if you, or your loved one, needs to get back on your feet.. we were there 3 weeks and they got my husband moving.. he is healing.. thanks, again.. love you guys and gals.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We will be sure to pass your comments along to our Spalding team members. Have a great day!
Fantastic experience: My experience with Spaulding was an amazing journey to better myself for my life forward with Limb Amputation. PT/OT and Nurses were incredibly skillful in taking care of me. I'll always be grateful for there work. Thank You.
So glad to hear your positive feedback! Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review.
Fantastic experience: The staff at Spalding Rehab were all amazing and involved in my mothers recovery. I was not familiar with this rehab before, but very impressed with staff and services provided. Our family being involved also made a HUGE difference and daily visitations were appreciated by therapists and doctors involved. Thank you for all your hard work and support. Would recommend this place to all my friend , but will also encourage family participation!
Thank you for your review of Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital! We take pride in serving the Denver metro community and appreciate you taking the time to write such a kind review. We will be sure to pass it along to our staff.
Negative experience: The staff at Spalding Rehab Hospital prevented me from seeing and communicating with my daughter during her stay. They were rude and inconsiderate of our circumstances and did not allow for any parental or patient rights. The communication was lacking for the duration and when they did talk to me they did not have a clue what was going on. Do not send your loved one here if you want them to be cared for properly.
Negative experience: This hospital is pretty racist and treats people as such depending on their color. I suffered a tramatic injury where I had to learn to walk again. During this time, my memory was just starting to piece things together and I was improving. However, I was put on medication heavily that I did not understand, and when trying to question it, I was unfairly treated by being ignored when I needed help or assistance. I was held in my room alot against my will, it took the divine timing of a nurse that came in on the morning shift to see what was happening in the span of evening and night hours. Once this occured, she took action and I was released to somewhere else. Make sure you keep in contact and check with your loved ones on how they are treated in a place like this. After all, some of these reviews are fake, and some most likely paid for.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. We'd like to look into the situation you’ve described; please reach out to our Patient Liaison at 303-873-5988. We strive to give the best quality care possible, so we look forward to hearing from you.
Positive experience: Great people. Very helpful
Fantastic experience: Me gustaría visitarlos, y me ayuden
Valoramos altamente su opinión. Gracias por tomarse el tiempo de calificarnos.
Positive experience: Why does the facility not call family members and give updates on the patients conditions?!!
Randy, please reach out to our Patient Advocate at 303-873-5988 so they can further assist. Thank you.
Positive experience: Most everyone at Spalding was great. Special shout out to Vicky, Abbey, PT & OT. Will Edwards and Michelle, PCTs, and Nurses, Christy and Cheryl. Worst experience was a PCT named Francisco. He should not be allowed to assist patients. He was extremmly rude, and left me lying in bed sideways where I could not move due to a neck injury. I would not allow him to come back into my room. I took my complaint to the Charger Nurse Stephene, and also mentioned to Jack to talk to Stephene. Other than my experience with Francisco. my stay was great.
Jan, thank you for your feedback! We will be looking into what you have described. We hope you're doing well!
Fantastic experience: I just left on Friday April 21st 2023. This place is amazing. Every Nurse, Dr, Nurses Aid were kind and considerate. Exceptional was Reggie, Ted and Kristen, RNs, who I saw the most of. Lauren my Occupational Therapist was wonderful and Vicki my Physical Therapist was just what I needed. It was a complete surprise to me that I would have to go to rehab. But I'm so glad I did, They so helped me. Even the staff from the kitchen were kind and thoughtful. Thank you to all of you. It was refreshing to receive the kind of care that I did.
Thank you for your positive review! Take care.
Positive experience: My mom was very happy with most of the nursing staff and therapists. There were several who were a bit harsh for dealing with someone with a brain bleed. She loved all of the doctors. The CNA's were very sweet and we cannot say enough about all of the kitchen staff. Hands down the best food we have experienced in a rehab/hospital setting.
Thank you for your positive review! Take care.
Fantastic experience: I work at a nearby hospital in a cardiac setting and so finding a high quality rehab for my father after his stroke was a top priority. I honestly had heard mixed reviews about Spalding and had a terrible family experience here many many years ago. I checked out another rehab at another hospital specifically for Strokes and Brain injuries and I was just not impressed by the facility or the staff…. We decided to pick Spalding because of the gym and the amenities it offered. I felt that the charge nurse really took her time and gave us a great tour! My father stayed inpatient for two weeks getting intense physical, occupational and speech therapy. In addition we have returned nearly every week for outpatient therapy. I can’t speak more highly of this rehab place and I can’t emphasize enough how particular I am of his care, since I’m an over protective daughter in the medical field so I know the in’s and out’s. I felt like the therapists and nurses truly listened to mine and my mother’s concern for the future. They listen to my personal concerns and I was often times the one in the middle translating to our other relatives what was going on with my father so I asked so many medical questions. I never felt like I was asking to many questions. I always visited there and they quickly began to recognize me and all of the nurses, CNAs that we encountered were truly so sweet and professional. The gym was absolutely phenomenal! My father is a huge cook in the kitchen and I really wanted him to cook in there with the therapist. I expressed this need and they were happy to accommodate. He was struggling with seatbelts and there was a car in the basement to go practice with. It seems that they had everything. They were challenging him appropriately and even though I was nervous, the therapists knew exactly what they were doing and it was backed by current research. I can’t speak anymore highly about outpatient. Jennifer in OT, Tyler in PT, MJ in speech therapy, and Aidan who does all of the behind the scenes work coordinating and, the sweetest gals in the finance office You are all amazing and it feels like family anytime we come in. Thank you so much for the love and care you have shown us throughout this difficult process and time for our family. So on behalf of my father Dennis, My mother Ginny , my brother Andrew and myself Kayla, the whole Stacey family, thank you for helping my dad. He is doing so well and is returning to work this week 8 months after his stroke. Brain injuries are strange, but when you have a support system like we did through Spalding rehab you are going to be taken care of.
Kayla, thank you for sharing this with us. Your kind words and positive recommendation mean so much. We hope your father is doing well!
Positive experience: The therapist, olme and all were awesome ,special shoute out to Abbi,. So caring and wonderful dry to work with. I also loved speech therapy, very difficult but so rewarding. The nursing staff were also caring and professional. My one criticism of was the time it took to respond to call th lights. I once waited a 15 minutes tfor a response. My other criticism is meals. Once dropped off, I felt forgotten. Oftener cafeteria staff returned me to my room. That said, my overnight experience at Spalding was excellent and my recovery outstanding
Thank you for your kind words and helpful feedback. We hope you are doing well.
Fantastic experience: I had a below the knee amputation very suddenly. Spalding help me cope and taught me the skills I needed to succeed at home. They help teach my husband to help as well. I greatly appreciate my PT person Annika, she gave me confidence and reassured my husband. Shout out to RNs, John, Becky and Reggie. PCT's, Elisa, Brenda, Irene and James. The staff is very caring and do what they can to make the stay more pleasant. Thanks for making a bad thing a little better
Thank you for your review of Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital! We take pride in serving the community and appreciate you taking the time to write such a kind review. We will be sure to pass it along to our staff.

Fantastic experience: The therapists are excellent.
Thank you for your positive review! We hope you are doing well.
Fantastic experience: Kind people, good food, and three hours per day of therapy from excellent therapists. No one WANTS to be in a rehab hospital, but these folks helped me make the best use of the time spent there!
Thank you for your positive review! We hope you are doing well.
Fantastic experience: I loved going to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Starting with the receptionist, I’m sorry I cannot remember her name, but a lovely woman, next the Manager of Rehab Aiden, very efficient, to my Speech Therapist Michelle, I am sorry my time was up. I miss all of these people daily when I think about techniques that I have been given to help me.
Thank you for your positive review! We hope you are doing well.
Fantastic experience: The care and quality of their personnel was outstanding. I was reluctant but went there because my wife was there due to an emergency surgery and I am glad I went.
Thank you for your positive review! We hope you are doing well.
Fantastic experience: This place is awesome!
Thank you for your kind words! We hope you are doing well.
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff helped me to return to my home!
Thank you for your positive review! We hope you are doing well!
Fantastic experience: Wow! What a great place, with caring doctors and nurses and PT, OT, AND SPEECH THERAPISTS, that know how to empower you. They all get an A+++++!
Thank you for your positive review and kind words! We hope you are doing well!
Negative experience: Rude staff, Francisco should be fired.
Negative experience: Rude staff
Negative experience: The nurses have been inconsiderate, nasty, and downright careless.
Positive experience: Careful when parking at this facility as cars are being stolen out of parking lot. Great Rehab Hospital and they are making great progress with my husband.
Debra, thank you for your feedback.
Positive experience: This place is great on helping people but the night security guard is really rude and instantly wants to fight as soon as he starts his shift
Thank you for leaving a review. We are committed to the satisfaction of our patients, and this feedback will help us improve.
Negative experience: Terrible facility. I would never leave my family member here again. The man at the front desk is extremely rude.
Negative experience: The man at the front desk is extremely rude. The nurses do not take proper care of their patients. My mother was ignored for multiple hours. She fell because a nurse did not help her.
Negative experience: Terribly rude nursing staff! They used to do a way better job but now they don't even care for the patients. There has been a dirty band aid on the floor for over a week in my relative's room. I called the nursing station to ask for some urgent information and she literally hung up on me. HORRIBLE!
Jacquelyn, please reach out to us so we can learn more about what you have described. Please call 720-355-1577. Thank you.
Negative experience: Terrible facility. All of the staff is rude and inconsiderate. The nurses treat the patients poorly and they have a terribe attitude. One nurse tried to prevent a service animal seizure response and alert dog from entering the facility, which is a violation of federal ADA laws. They do not take proper care of any of the patients here. Do not leave your loved one here.
Zandrea, please reach out to our Patient Advocate at 303-873-5988 so we can learn more about this situation. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: The doctors, nurses, therapists and staff at Spalding rehab were awesome! They helped me get ready to come home and get around on my own. They helped me learn to use my wheelchair, walker and crutches to climb steps, to do household chores like laundry, getting in and out of the shower, to use the chair in the shower and other things as well like getting in and out of the car. The food was really good and the cafeteria help were very friendly. Everyone was very friendly and professional and helpful. I would highly recommend Spalding rehab hospital to anyone needing rehab care like me, recovering from ankle fusion surgery. Thank you, thank you, thank you Spalding rehab people!
Thank you for the positive feedback! We love seeing great ratings like this.
Negative experience: Enough nursing staff nurses. And the nurses that are there most do not know how to do pen care. They do not check blood pressure before giving med witch was low from all the pin med to help with pain. Had to call in the supervisor 2times Really do not what to go to this center to start with because my dad was there about 40 years ago and it was not good. I was told that they ate a lot better know NOT AS FAR AS I CAN SEE. Only good thing was the pt and ot staff
We regret that this experience fell short of expectations. Please reach out to us so we can learn more about your experience.
Fantastic experience: my recent appt has gone like all the rest, with me wondering where the hour went. I have Parkinsons and one of the things that I lost is my ability to speak and communitcate verbally. My speech therapist Michelle Kryc has been responsible for giving me a big part of my life back. Thank you Michelle I appreciate you. Craig Elliott
Craig, thank you for your kind review! We are grateful for the opportunity to care for you.
Fantastic experience: WOW WOW WOW, I cannot thank this team enough. My sister stayed in room 203, so that area!. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PHENOMENAL SERVICE and for allowing us, her family, to breathe a bit easier knowing that she was in good hands. My sister AND my mother suffered a horrific car accident which nearly took their lives. After being in a trauma unit in a hospital out of state, my sister was transferred here. Let me tell you the HUGE weight you took off our shoulders. We trusted you with her care, she was happy there, she was taken care of, BY EVERYONE! We did not have a single complaint while we were there. This allowed us to care for my mother, who was then placed in a different Rehab center, Aviva at Fitz, a totally different experience there, in a very negative way. Because of the poor care my mother was receiving at Aviva, we were able to focus on my mother more and felt confident in leaving my sister in Spalding's care without a worry. A care we couldn't' trust Aviva with on the other hand when it came to my mother. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, make sure everyone there knows how thankful we are and can see that they LOVE their job and what they do, they change people's lives. After all we went through, it was nice to see some care and humanity in people! I can't thank you enough....keep up the good work and your care for other human life!!!!!!!!! XOXOXOXOXO
Brenda, thank you for your kind words and positive review! We are so grateful for the opportunity to care for your sister. Wishing you and your family all the best!
Fantastic experience: I went there to rehab from a pretty significant lower back surgery and was blown away with the overall care, detail and treatments for each and every patient. All the doctors, therapists and staff work from a team approach perspective and they are all very communicative and informative with their thoughts and programming. They radiated positivity and made me feel like it was only a matter of time until I got better. Cannot say enough positive things about my experience and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs their service!!!
Keith, thank you so much for your kind words and positive review! We're so grateful for the opportunity to care for you and we hope you are doing well!
Fantastic experience: I go to outpatient therapy and my speech therapist Michelle Kryc is amazing! Thanks to her we continually work on exercising my brain to work regularly. Which is what I need for my Traumatic Brain Injury. She is very accommodating and helpful. I do recommend any of the staff at Spalding Hospital to anyone in need of care. Thank you so much to Michelle and the rest of the team for your help! P.S. written by care taker, with input and permission by Ashton.
Ashton, thank you for your kind words! We are so grateful for the opportunity to care for you. Wishing you all the best.
Fantastic experience: I wrote a review yesterday. I came in this past Wed. Within 10ft of walking in the facility, I felt a very comfortable, homey feeling. ALL of the nurses, the one guy I met from the kitchen, EVERYONE, has compassion and you know they care. That, in my opinion is part of what makes me relaxed. Ari, fantastic lady. She not only has compassion, her concern, caring and her genuine desire to make you comfortable, is beyond the call of duty. The food imo, is really good. Beef roast yesterday, was so tender and juicy, no o e I know has ever cooked a roast like that. I want to say thank you to the entire staff for being professional and treating patients like family. Thank you all. You all have made me feel better. I can't thank you enough..
Robert, thank you for your positive review! We hope you are doing well.
Fantastic experience: Best rehab in Aurora. Very kind people

Fantastic experience: After my back surgery, I stayed at Spalding Rehabitation Hospital for a couple of weeks. Everyone at this hospital was wonderful, kind and excellent in their area. I learned so much such as how to manage pain with breathing and slow stretch exercises, how to cook a meal, and how to take a shower with out breaking the safety precautions for back surgery (no lifting, bending or twisting). I was well prepared to function on my own when I got home. I am very grateful and recommend them highly.
Karen, thank you so much for your kind words and positive recommendation! We hope you are doing well.
Negative experience: The techs were always late and often did a lot of, “getting ready” to where my rehabilitation lasted a few minutes. The only positive about this place was Dr. Lee who was outstanding.
Thank you for your feedback.
Fantastic experience: Exceptional care. Motivated and encouraged my mom to continue her healing at home with confidence. She couldn't have done it without them all.
Thank you for taking the time to share. The Medical Center of Aurora is filled with many special people, and we know they will appreciate the kind words!
Fantastic experience: My stay here was outstanding. A.ll the staff are very professional, caring and kind. They really like working here as their peers are very competent and caring. The exercise do help and are very necessary. 3 hours a day of therapy is terrific as that's about all I could do, but any less is inadequate. I highly recommend Spaulding as the top choice. They keep asking if there is any more they can do. Richard Friedman

Darrick, thank you so much for your kind words! It was an honor being able to care for you! We hope you are doing well!
Fantastic experience: I was a patient at Spalding. So believe me when I say this, the entire care team from top to bottom CARES. It’s so easy to get stuck in the mechanics of hospital life and lose sight of the person behind the medical chart, but these people? They don’t. You are a person to them. They want you to get back to living and most importantly, enjoying your life. Hospital stays are never fun, but somehow because these people care so much, mine was fun. I had a blast learning new things and working with all of my therapists. I had a blast with my nurses. I enjoyed every. Last. Person. I met. So if you’re loved one needs help and you want to give them the best care possible, Spalding is it. Sadly, not all rehabs are created equal, but here you can be confident that you’re get the best care possible.

Negative experience: With the exception of a few nurses nursing care was poor. Cnas were horrible. Ot and pt was good. Floor was hot making it uncomfortable. Need to listen to patient. Also discharge nurse was not concerned over my BP being 197/100.
Thank you for your feedback. We strive to provide every patient with the best care possible and we apologize. If you are up to it, please contact our Patient Advocate at 303-873-5988 so we can learn more. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: The staff here did an excellent job with my mom. I wish she could have stayed there longer. The home care my mother received did not compare and I feel like she's almost back to square one. I just want to thank everyone there for the amazing care they provided.

Fantastic experience: I recovered from brain surgery at a very fast pace. It actually surprised me how I went from learning good wheelchair techniques to learning transfers from walkers. I really want to thank Annika, PT, who showed me simple, to her techniques, to let me push myself while learning the "smart" way to perform important basic things necessary in life. She was also very easy to talk with and made me feel like I was her only patient. Abby, my main OT, was also really good at letting me try tasks without letting me put myself in physical danger. I enjoyed all the nursing staff. Reggie and I talked about everything from football to N korea which really helped me. Janet "made" me do certain tasks like transfers adding my own effort into the process.Everyone at Spalding made my experience truly a rehabilitation opportunity.

Fantastic experience: The care I received at Spaulding was excellent. The therapy staff challenged me and supported me at the same time. When I arrived at Spaulding I was very frightened about even the simplest aspects of my future life. When I left Spaulding, that fear was gone. Thank you to all at Spaulding. H. Lewis

Fantastic experience: I was pleased with how everyone was extremely friendly and always in a pleasant mood. I would suggest Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital to others. I would like to put a shout out to one of my nurses named John, my occupational therapist named Allison and my physical therapist named Rebecca even tho they pushed me to do more at times I appreciate that they did, they always put a huge smile on my face when I was down thank you so very much for all ya'll did for me.

Positive experience: Van was good and polite except for haveing a BM in our restroom then bolting out the door. thought that was kinda strange.

Negative experience: I was there from Jan 25th to Feb 6th 2018 .During that time frame I received visits from Dotors and PAs .They would come in say hi ask me how was doing listen to my heart and leave .Now I am being billed roughly $2500 dollars for these visits. If you go there and a doctor or PA comes into your room tell them to get out.
Thank you for your feedback. We strive to be transparent in our billing practices and apologize if that was not your experience. If you would like us to audit your bill or further discuss the charges, we are happy to do so. Please contact our billing department at 866.475.8266.
Positive experience: After a skiing accident in steamboat springs Colorado which resulted in fractured femur and hip surgery, I required rehabilitation before I could fly home to Rhode Island. Spent 8 days in Denver at the Spalding unit at Saint Luke’s hospital. The room was clean food was decent hospital food, but the shining star was the staff. They all truly love their jobs and worked hard to prepare me for a four hour flight and life at home alone as I recover. I gained physical and emotional strength with every session. I will always be grateful to the therapists for their compassion and skills. Thanks especially to Ella, Susie, Don and Syndy.
Thank you for the kind words, Susan! We are so lucky to have such committed caretakers at Spalding Rehbilitation Hospital and are so thankful for all they do. We will be sure to pass along your comments.
Positive experience: Came here after a stroke, friendly and knowledgeable staff therapy was great, food and kitchen staff were wonderful. rooms and bathrooms are overdue for renovation they are dated .bathroom had unpainted patch spots, sink faucet handles were old and cracked, i know this is a place for recovery but accommodations are comparable to a motel.
Irving, thank you for the feedback and the positive comments about the level of care at The Medical Center of Aurora. We are committed to the satisfaction of our patients and want to apologize for any issues experienced regarding the room. We are committed to the highest quality of care and appreciate any information that can help us improve our procedures.
Fantastic experience: Strong focus on personal care. Very positive staff, especially helpful for a rehabilitation facility.
Negative experience: Be careful if you visit this facility at night. They have the worst lighting I have ever seen in a parking lot. Very dangerous. The security guard was so nice to walk me back to my car.
Ellen: We are working to improve our lighting around the hospital. Our hospital security is always available to provide escorts to cars and I am glad they were able to assist you. Thank you for your feedback on this matter, Jon Beasley, Director of Marketing and Referral Development at Spalding Rehab Hospital.
Negative experience: I am on my way to the CUHealth Neuro ICU now because my loved one, who already suffered a traumatic brain injury, fell at 8 p.m. last night and hit his head AGAIN. It is now 2 p.m. and the only way I found out was my brother and his wife stopped by to visit him and he was no longer there. NO ONE called me or his sister, both of us are emergency contacts! When I asked questions on the phone about why this happened, a nurse named Chris sighed and acted like I was a huge inconvenience. I have been told four different stories about what happened - 1) he went to the bathroom and was left unattended, 2) he fell walking to the bathroom on his own and "someone"forgot to set the bed alarm, 3) he tried to get up and set off the alarm but he fell before they could get there, and, (my favorite) 4) they don't really know what happened. We were told that management is aware but won't come in on the weekends to deal with it or talk to us even though we are very upset. I wonder if they would've been more willing to talk if we had legal representation. This is not going away anytime soon... we want answers and consequences! Do not take your loved ones here because these nurses don't give two shakes about your family! Read the other review on here about how they let another patient get dehydrated and nearly die! These people are not qualified to care for TBI patients even though that's what they tote! Update 7/16: Have yet to receive a phone call from an administrator or the nurse manager regarding what really happened on 7/13. Jon Beasley assured me yesterday I would hear from the nursing manager. Never heard a thing, even left her a message late yesterday. No one is talking to us!! Is this a sign of guilt? Someone needs to answer our questions!!
Nicole, we are so sorry to hear that we fell short of expectations. Our Hospital Administrator and the Patient Advocate have been notified and are working to resolve this. We will be reaching out to you directly in order to continue communication. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate reaching out to our Patient Advocate at 303-873-5988. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: The staff does excellent work nursing, pt, it, speech and the doctors.
Fantastic experience: Warm , friendly and knowledgeable staff. Taking very good care of my mum after brain surgery. Good food and clean environment. She is making far better recovery progress here then at the hospital.
Fantastic experience: I have been treated like a princess during my rehab from an exploded ulcer and sepsis I'm learning how to do everything all over again, but they are all so wonderful and kind. Everyone here has provided excellent service to me and my family
Negative experience: My father was admitted to Spalding for rehabilitation following a severe brain injury. The staff did a very poor job of watching and documenting his food/water intake and after three days my father developed severe dehydration, causing his kidneys to fail and nearly caused his death. He was readmitted into the ICU for another five weeks to repair what three days at Spalding did to him. Please do not allow any loved ones to be admitted into this facility.
