Feminocentric Physical Therapy and Wellness: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Typically, I don't write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience for postpartum moms considering pelvic floor therapy. At my 6-week postpartum checkup, my OBGYN assured me everything looked fine and scheduled my next visit for a year later. It felt abrupt, especially after so many frequent appointments during pregnancy. I was left feeling abandoned, even though I desperately needed more support. I couldn't hold my urine for longer than a minute, walking triggered lower back pain, and holding my baby while standing left my back in agony. My pelvic floor was tight, my glutes were clenched constantly, and bending over the bassinet was painful. On top of that, I had zero core strength. . Thankfully, my OBGYN referred me to Feminocentric, and I immediately booked an appointment with Dr. Danielle Race. If you can see Dr. Danielle, do it--you won't regret it. She's compassionate, knowledgeable, and as a mom herself, she truly understands what we go through postpartum. I committed to 12 sessions, and it was the best decision I made for myself. I started with incontinence, a tight pelvic floor, lower back pain, and a 2-finger diastasis recti. After 12 weeks, I no longer leak when I sneeze, I'm back to my workout routine, and I've regained so much strength. Dr. Danielle creates a safe and supportive environment, and her passion for her work is evident. Pelvic floor therapy is a game-changer for postpartum moms. Our bodies accomplish something incredible during pregnancy and childbirth, and dedicating time to restore our body is essential. I only wish insurance covered this fully, but you can use your HSA/FSA if available. Thank you, Dr. Danielle, for your patience, kindness, and guidance throughout my postpartum journey. You made a world of difference for me. My only regret is that I didn't see you during pregnancy. If we are blessed with another baby, I will make sure to see you before and after pregnancy.
Fantastic experience: I did 12+ weeks of pelvic floor therapy with Dr. Danielle after I gave birth. My baby was huge and it took a while for my pelvic floor to heal. I started 6 weeks after the birth. Dr. Danielle taught me new exercises each week to get my pelvic floor and core strong again. It was so valuable to get feedback on whether I was doing exercises correctly — it was essential to go to an office in person for physical therapy. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who had a baby. My insurance only covered part of the cost.
We're so happy to hear that Dr. Danielle's expertise and your dedication to the therapy helped you heal and regain your strength! It's incredibly rewarding to see our patients make such significant progress. Thank you for sharing your positive experience. Your feedback is invaluable to us and helps us continue to provide excellent care to our patients. We hope you continue to feel strong and empowered!
Fantastic experience: Long overdue post - but I NEED TO! I had the pleasure to work with Dr. Jessica and I saw Dr. Danielle and Dr. Sayyad at different times as well and everyone was very supportive and helped me recover from pregnancy injuries. Now, I can confidently say that I am back to working out consistently without any of my former issues. Additionally, I just had my first OB appointment since pregnancy and can confidently say I had no pain! How many people can say that?! I am confident that all the doctors can effectively work with each client to find which exercises can strengthen their muscles and alleviate any of the issues they may have pre, during or post pregnancy. Thank you again all for all the help.
Thank you so much for your kind words and 5-star rating! We're honored to have been a part of your pregnancy and postpartum journey. It's incredibly rewarding to hear that our services made a positive impact. We're committed to providing the best possible care and support to our clients. Thank you again for your trust and confidence.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Jessica and the whole staff at Feminocentric are wonderful! They not only work on your main concerns but other aspects which may be worsening symptoms and find the root causes. I always felt so comfortable and understood here, it was truly life changing.
Fantastic experience: I had the most wonderful and informative experience with Dr. Jessica Apolinar and would recommend her to anyone needing pelvic floor therapy! Her instructions are clear and helpful, and she has a very kind and open communication style that is so necessary when working on pelvic floor issues. I immediately felt comfortable working with her and looked forward to learning every single appointment. I began seeing Dr. Jessica during my second pregnancy (still recovering from unresolved issues from my first pregnancy!), and am so happy with everything I learned. I had a much easier labor with no issues, and I know so much of that has to do with the work done with Dr. Jessica.
Fantastic experience: I am so thankful that I found this place! The need for care was LONG overdue, and I wish this was around when I went through my three pregnancies. Twenty years later I was afraid I was going to have to give up on running for good due to chronic pain. I mostly worked with Danielle, and she was amazing. She helped identify my issues and gave me strengthening and stretching exercises to help make me stronger again. I had been to many doctors and PTs trying to figure out what was going on, and I wasn't getting any answers that were helping. I'm finally not feeling the pain I had experienced for the last 8 years or more and I am feeling hopeful about running again! I honestly didn't know what to expect, and was definitely nervous, but everyone in the office is so welcoming and kind. I highly recommend it!
Fantastic experience: I don’t know where to begin, Dr Danielle is beyond amazing!! I had no idea that pelvic floor physical therapy can benefit and help anyone (no you don’t need to be pregnant or postpartum!) I have dealt with many years of lower back pain, constipation, endometriosis, and vulvodynia, and I finally found someone who has helped me through it all and more.. Dr Danielle. I went in with small hope since previous physical therapy, chiropractic sessions, and doctor visits had been very little help and only provided temporary relief. However, Dr Danielle has changed my life! She has helped me in every area I addressed and even helped me uncover a root cause that my body was dealing with. Ever since the first day I met her, she provided a comfortable environment and genuinely wanted to help me. In every single appointment, she goes above and beyond. If you want someone who will truly listen to your concerns and genuinely want to help you, Dr Danielle is the person to go to! I’m extremely grateful to have found Feminocentric, thank you Dr. Linda for providing such a helpful and welcoming environment (and for having the best of the best, Dr. Danielle)
Fantastic experience: As a first time parents, my partner and I took classes and read books - none of which seem to really tell us what will happen during labor. Except that all of the things will happen. It seemed like chaos. All the information we got was scattered and we still felt completely unprepared. Sure, we knew about the importance of breath, birth position options and different contraptions - but how and when to use any of it seemed remained murky. Dr.Linda not only got me into the sessions knowing that I was already 33 weeks pregnant heading to PT, but she made me and my partner feel extremely comfortable and welcome. I have been equipped with immense knowledge about my pregnant body, how to properly breathe, exercise and how to simply exist as a pregnant person. Heading into the labor, both my partner and I don’t just feel knowledgeable about the process, we feel ready and well equipped to support each other, we know exactly what to do and when. Dr.Linda prepared us for a safe and manageable birth - where we are not wondering about what ifs, we are fully ready to confidently labor in a safe, calm and educated way. Instead of being driven by fear and the unknowns, we are so grateful to have done the Birth Preparation and PT with FeminoCentric! If you are a soon to be parent, don’t walk - run to schedule your sessions! (carefully if you are the pregnant one!)
We're thrilled to hear that your Birth Preparation and PT sessions with Dr. Linda were so beneficial! It's wonderful to know that we were able to equip you and your partner with the knowledge and confidence needed for a positive birth experience. Your feedback about the challenges of finding comprehensive birth preparation information is spot on. We're dedicated to providing expectant parents with the tools and support they need to feel empowered and prepared. Thank you for sharing your amazing experience! We're so happy to have been a part of your journey.
Fantastic experience: Everyone at Feminocentric is so friendly and make you feel so comfortable. They are also family friendly as I was even able to bring my newborn to my sessions when I couldn't get child care. Dr. Jessica was amazing at diagnosing and treating pelvic pain I was experiencing during pregnancy. She also helped me with labor prep and postpartum support. She is very knowledgeable and provided an effective treatment plan. I wish I had found them after my first pregnancy!
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear that your experience at Feminocentric was positive and that Dr. Jessica was able to provide the care and support you needed during your pregnancy and postpartum journey. We’re proud to offer a family-friendly environment and appreciate you sharing your experience. Your feedback means the world to us and helps us continue to provide exceptional care. Thank you again for choosing Feminocentric! Sincerely, The Feminocentric Team
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with Danielle. She taught me and my husband so much about preparing for labor that made us much more confident as we continue our journey. She is very knowledgeable, professional and kind. Definitely recommend it.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Jessica is amazing and she’s fantastic at what she does! I came in for a specific pelvic floor issue and not only was she able to diagnose and help treat my problem, she made me realize that I was dealing with another chronic pelvic floor issue. She’s really improved my quality of life and helped me build better habits that I will keep for life. She even corrected some of the movements that I was doing wrongly at my other (ortho) PT. I was nervous coming here because I didn’t know what to expect, but every interaction I had made me feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. They didn’t take insurance when I was a patient but it’s 100% worth it. Thank you Dr. Jessica! :)
Fantastic experience: Dr. Jessica was so wonderful to work with! Pelvic floor therapy is something every woman needs pre and post baby! It’s the best thing I did for myself this pregnancy and feminocentric is the place to go! I am going into my birth and post partum journey confident knowing I’ve done everything I can do. The exercises and tools Dr. Jessica gave me and my husband to feel good about how to handle early labor and birth positions is priceless. Thank you THANK YOU DR. JESSICA! See you postpartum!!!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Jermaine at FeminoCentric is truly a life saver! I started going to her at the beginning of my pregnancy when I couldn’t walk due to severe/debilitating back pain. I started seeing her weekly and, since then, have had zero back pain (or any physical pain), even through my third trimester! I strongly believe that my pregnancy was physically so “easy” because of all the PT work I did with Dr. Jermaine. Also, once my back pain was gone, we worked on pelvic floor PT, which I learned existed because of FeminoCentric. I feel as prepared as possible for childbirth because of Dr. Jermaine. I strongly recommend FeminoCentric for anyone looking for top notch pregnancy PT. I intend to go back after I give birth for postnatal PT! Thank you so much, Dr. Jermaine and FeminoCentric!
Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about Feminocentric. I first came in for a recurring tailbone issue that I had had after my first pregnancy that came back while I was pregnant the second time this summer. I worked with Dr. Danielle Race and was able to see progress after each session; the pain resolved within 2 months! From there I worked to improve overall strength and flexibility and prepare for labor. I felt so much stronger and better prepared for labor this pregnancy because of the PT work I did. I am now working on postpartum recovery to regain core strength and improve DR. Dr Danielle and the entire team are so kind, patient and accommodating and I especially appreciate how thorough Dr Danielle is in explaining the reasoning behind her methodology and in answering all of my questions. I am so thankful for their help in my road to recovery.
Fantastic experience: I went to Feminocentric to help my postpartum pelvic floor issues, and in 12 weeks my issues have drastically improved! I would highly recommend Dr. Jessica Apolinar. She is highly competent, professional, and an all around delightful person. The office staff was very friendly, and always sent super bills promptly (a HUGE plus, as anyone who is part of a health share knows). I’m grateful for the tools I learned here that will help me through future pregnancies!
Fantastic experience: Came here after fracturing my pelvis during labor/delivery and they helped create a plan to strengthen and improve stability. Really loved Dr. Jermaine and also the studio’s flexibility with remote physical therapy when I was on travel.
Fantastic experience: At my first postpartum checkup my OB said I had diastasis recti (ab wall separation) & before I could go back to exercising the way I used to (pre-pregnancy), I needed to heal my ab separation & strengthen my pelvic floor, or it could potentially cause more damage. This was my first pregnancy, so I had no idea of how to take care of my body postpartum. FeminoCentric was the first on the list of suggested PT centers in Pasadena. After looking up some reviews & locations of the different PT centers my OB recommended, I decided to start PT here, & I’m so happy that I did. I went into PT with no knowledge of how pregnancy impacts pelvic floor function & how that affects core; I remember just wanting to complete my 12 weeks of PT, so that I could start working out again & get back to being healthy & fit—to feel more like myself. The center itself is clean, well-organized, & has a huge window with a beautiful view of the mountains. Parking is also super easy, which is a plus in Pasadena. I was told if I ever needed to bring my baby to a PT session, there would be someone there to care for her while I completed my session. Roselle, the office manager, always greeted me by name when I walked in, explained the payment plans to me very clearly, & addressed all my questions about scheduling. She was always friendly & kind & made me feel welcomed at every appointment. For my actual PT, I worked with Dr. Jermaine & she was absolutely amazing. She is so knowledgeable & just educated me on how the pelvic floor works, its connection to the abdominals/core, how to breathe properly when exercising & showed me exercises to do to heal my diastasis—every week the exercises progressed. Not only is Dr. Jermaine well-versed in the specifics of PT for postpartum care, but she was incredibly supportive, & demonstrated so much patience & compassion on days I needed it the most. I had a session once a week & would look forward to it every week. After I completed my 12 weeks of PT, I was actually a little sad it was over because I had gained so much from this place & had only positive experiences. I’m working out again, & slowly starting to feel more like myself thanks to this PT center.
Fantastic experience: I was referred here from Village Birth from the childbirth class. So glad I came here. I wanted to be prepared for childbirth and postpartum. Dr. Sayyad is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and knows how to explain concepts in an easy to understand way. I'm not a very active or physically in shape person, but she was gentle and kind with showing me the different exercises I could do to help prepare myself for both a vaginal delivery or a C-section. I learned so much from my sessions here, and am looking forward to coming back after my delivery to continue my sessions. The office is very easy to get to, right off the 210 and plenty of parking in a giant parking lot.
Fantastic experience: Dr.Linda is amazing I start seeing progress from the first session. She has a very clear plan and every session new practice. Can’t thank her enough!
Fantastic experience: I kept forgetting to write a review about this place since I'd been going for about a year, then dropped off to deal with other issues. The people here are all helpful, welcoming, and caring about your concerns. It was easy to schedule/re-schedule as needed, thanks to Alex. I mostly worked with Danielle, who was always so patient with my issues and informative. Facilities are clean and calming as well. For a Pasadena business, parking is relatively easy in the lot. However they've had a couple price hikes while and after my time here, and it is out-of-pocket for me which is the only difficulty for my budget, but anyway my issues have been long-term and require patient diligence so I'll keep working on my part and hope to return on occasion for more help in the future after I clear up my other life stuff.
Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Dr. Jessica for anyone seeking help. Everyone in this office is so friendly and makes each appointment as productive and comfortable as possible!
Fantastic experience: What can I say? This place changed my life. I had emergency surgery for a perforated colon in Jan 2021. April 2022, I had another surgery to remove the colostomy that I needed to heal from the first surgery. THAT is when my problems started. I have Parkinson’s and for those of you that do not know, Parkinson’s causes your bowls to be slower. Mine were plain not wanting to work at all. The average person risks slower bowels any time they have surgery, especially abdominal surgery. This is something I learned after my second surgery, so a person with Parkinson's it is even worse. I was constipated, bloated, miserable, and had a significant hernia. For months and months, I tried everything my GI suggested, she finally suggested pelvic therapy. That was the last “trick up her sleeve” and she said there was nothing else she could do for me. Since my medical insurance did not cover such therapy, it would have to come out of pocket. I found Feminocentric on Google and Yelp. I had no idea what I was really looking for. But my GI said pelvic therapy and that is what they do. Don’t be fooled, pregnancy is not their only focus. They do physical therapy. I was drawn to the fact it was a female business. It made me feel safe to expose the horrible scars on my stomach. My first visit was like a miracle. I met with Dr Danielle, she told me the hernia that I was told I had was actually a muscle separation. Very much like the separation during a pregnancy. But mine was quite significant and it was above my belly button. I could not believe how must better I felt after that first visit. I was more than happy to pay whatever it was going to cost. I almost felt normal. After about the third visit, I had lost 2” of my bloated belly. I was not as constipated, and I was sleeping better. If you do the work, it works. After two and a half months of my therapy, we sold our house and moved out of state. I honestly thought I was good. I got lazy and didn’t do any of my exercises for nearly a month. I was thrown back into my bloat and constipation again. Luckily, all I needed was a few video sessions with Dr Danielle, and things started to go back to my new normal. I wish I could be back in So. Cal and visit this incredible place weekly. But I really don’t need to go there. I just need to discipline myself to follow the exercise videos that we made during my time there and keep going on my own. Dr Danielle even made me a goal chart to follow. I have to admit. I'm not doing as much as I should be, but I am working at it. Still unpacking and learning my new home and state. But it would not be possible if I didn't have Dr Danielle's help. I am so grateful for this place and Dr Danelle Race.
Fantastic experience: One of the best out there!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Danielle was fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. She helped me strengthen my pelvic floor muscles with daily exercises over the course of a few months. It wasn’t until halfway through the program that I felt a difference. But it really works. You just have to commit to the exercises and have patience. I highly recommend this place.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Linda and her team are amazing! This is theeee place to go if you need pelvic floor physical therapy!
Fantastic experience: This place is highly recommended if you are having an issue with a tight pelvic floor!
Fantastic experience: Working with Dr. Linda and Dr. Danielle has been such a lifesaver during my pregnancy. They have not only helped with my back and pelvic pain but they have helped prepare me for labor, birth, and the postpartum period. Their kind support has been so appreciated, and I highly recommend them!
Fantastic experience: After the delivery of my third baby, I went on the search for a pelvic therapy center and was unable to find a center that met my needs…until I came across Feminocentric Physical Therapy and Wellness. I sent an email using their website to get a consultation and Alex called me within an hour of that email; by the end of that call, I had an appointment to meet with Dr. Linda. Alex has been very nice and patient in answering all questions I have regarding my appointments and payment information. In addition to Alex’s help, I have been receiving therapy from Dr. Linda and Danielle. I am so happy with my results thus far, both ladies are amazing human beings with tremendous knowledge and patience; they take their time explaining what we are working on, why and how it is going to help heal what needs to be healed. I will forever be thankful for the ladies at the center, I feel as if I can live a normal life again doing things that I was not able to do before due to prolapse, tailbone pain, urinary leakage, Diastasis Recti; everything that can possibly happen after carrying babies and giving birth.
Fantastic experience: My experience with Dr. Danielle and Dr. Linda has been exceptional. Both women are educated, well versed in the best and most current methods of postpartum treatment, are thorough, patient and so very helpful. I wish I had known that they existed while pregnant because I had a very difficult time both physically and emotionally. They have addressed myriad issues that I’m experiencing, from a previous injury that has been exacerbated by breastfeeding to fairly severe Diastasis Recti. I think that a lot of people come in expecting to miraculously feel better by one session and while this is not the case, with time, effort and patience I’ve really seen the results. Their work is so valuable. They have provided something that was previously elusive to me in the healing process…and that is hope. Postpartum care is extremely lacking and leaves many women, such as myself, feeling anxious and helpless. Advocate for yourself and go see them today! Your journey of healing will begin as soon as you step foot inside their doors.
Fantastic experience: I have been receiving PT treatment for my injured ankle. My Physical Therapist, Nasrin, has been great. I enjoy coming to Feminocentric as all the people are so knowledgeable and caring. I would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Danielle is wonderful. She truly cares about the wellbeing of her patients and provides thoughtful and excellent care. I can't recommend her and the team at FeminoCentric PT enough!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Danielle is a very knowledgeable, professional and careing Physical Therapist. After I had explained my problem to her, she immediately found the right solution and effectively treated my problem. I highly recommend her to everyone who is seeking for help.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Sayyad is the best pelvic floor PT I've ever had. She cares about her patients and has very professional bedside manner.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Sayyad is an amazing clinician and deeply cares about her patients. I had PT sessions over several months, and Dr. Sayyad worked with me as my treatment plan changed and kept encouraging me to focus on progress. And I saw progress throughout my sessions. Her office also provided a kind and warm environment where I knew I could trust Dr. Sayyad and her treatment plans. Highly recommend Dr. Sayyad!
Fantastic experience: I’ve had an amazing experience with both Dr. Danielle and Dr. Linda. Both women are very knowledgeable and compassionate. I turned to them when all other doctors just shrugged their shoulders at me. I feel comfortable in their care and could not recommend them more!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Linda is amazing! She is very knowledgable, caring, and funny. I must admit I was nervous before my first pelvic floor appointment and she was reassuring, validated all my concerns, and helped me understand my condition better. I’ve made so much progress with her since then and look forward to our sessions every time! She makes sure that I am comfortable at all times and explains everything in detail. I highly recommend Dr. Linda Sayyad for any pelvic floor issues! I wish I had found her sooner.
Fantastic experience: Seeing Dr. Linda during my pregnancy has been such a treat! She's helped with my sciatica and also my inner thigh pain immensely, which has made working and staying active so much easier. Highly recommend seeing her for all things female as she is a wealth of knowledge. My husband and I also just did her birthing session, which I'm sure is going to be so helpful once baby decides he's ready to start his grand debut! She is truly such a doll and makes sessions fun. Plus, her massage portions of the session are heavenly seeing as she knows exactly where to focus on. Very much recommend her!!
Fantastic experience: I can't believe how after even 1 session, I started to feel a difference in my symptoms. Dr. Sayyad is amazing she is Professional, compassionate, knowledgeable, funny, and knows her stuff. I don't know why but I felt such shame and she helped melt all that away. My OB was so cold and I felt scared, shame, and felt that I was unfixable. I am grateful to have found her. Please I encourage you, go see her if you are in need of help. You won't regret it.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Linda Sayyad treated my injured shoulder about two months ago. After just one treatment, I knew I could trust her. She was caring, knowledgable, and patient. The treatment lasted one solid hour with her full attention on me. Totally exceeded my expectations. After that, Dr. Linda would use slightly different methods and taught me valuable exercises to strengthen my neck and shoulder. With just about 6 treatments, I was able to perform my old exercise routines without any more pains. I miss being treated by her!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Sayyad is an excellent doctor who is very knowledgeable, incredibly friendly, professional, and caring. I would not have fully recovered after the lower back surgery without the expertise and care provided by her. Highly recommend her.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Linda has helped me immensely to get my pelvic floor strength back and heal my DR after my second pregnancy. She listens to my concerns and always has a solution to help. Her encouragement and support has been invaluable - can't recommend her enough for new mothers!
Fantastic experience: I'm very thankful for Dr. Linda and I highly recommend her for postpartum care. I came to Dr. Linda because I had so much pain with my body after giving birth. She did a wonderful job helping me recovering. Dr. Linda is so knowledgeable and helped me with all my concerns as a first time mom. The exercises are easy to do at home and I could feel improvements each session. She also treated my back and neck aches came with breastfeeding, and showed me how to hold my baby right. Dr. Linda is awesome at what she does and I'm so glad I found her.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Sayyad is amazing! After procrastinating on my healthcare per usual, I finally set up an appointment to get therapy for my postpartum urinary leakage. For 3.5 years after my daughter was born, I ran my half marathons and did my workouts with the mindset that urinary leakage would forever be a part of my life. Kegels never helped much and who knew if I was doing them correctly. Dr. Sayyad walked me through different exercises and muscle control and breathing techniques that have made a huge difference in my fitness life. I was able to do almost 200 jump ropes in an intense workout and also ran a 5k without leakage. To say she has changed my life is not an overstatement. Looking forward to making her exercises a consistent part of my life and seeing her for my next pregnancy.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Sayyad was a lifesaver for my family member who had to undergo a pelvic surgery due to cancer. My family member needed pelvic floor physical therapy and Dr. Sayyad was exactly what we needed! Due to COVID-19, we couldn't go to any clinics. Dr. Sayyad offered TeleHealth visits, provided individualized video exercises, and checked in frequently to see how things were going. She is highly knowledgeable and definitely added the personal touch that you don't get anymore. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Sayyad to anyone who's looking for a pelvic floor or generalized ortho physical therapist!!
Fantastic experience: I can't recommend Dr. Sayyad enough!!! I have disk and lower back issues and every single time she has saved me from miserable pain and suffering. She is kind and compassionate and takes the time to really listen. I have never felt dismissed or rushed. I also took her online live class on Diastasis Recti and learned so much regarding post birth pelvic health and workouts to strengthen the muscles. I have been doing the exercises everyday and definitely feel the difference. Dr. Sayyad is truly remarkable.
