SportsMed Physical Therapy - Clifton NJ

Negative experience: The staff are very friendly and nice and the transport is a huge help however, I was most disappointed with the treatment. They don’t treat you where you are at they treat according to their average patient which was not going help me rehabilitate from my joint replacement surgery considering their patients are mostly twenty years older than me and not fit and healthy. In addition the PT aide changed the exercise instructions without clearing it with the physical therapist and kept “going easy on me” which is not helpful and not going to get me recovered / their whole approach was going to drag out my treatment for much longer than necessary. I made more progress from one session at another therapist than I did in two weeks at sports med.

Fantastic experience: I had a very good experience at SportsMed. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The equipment was set up and ready to use. Wait time was average on a busy day. The atmosphere was positive and the Physical Therapists were informative and helpful in figuring out the best plan for my needs. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend SportsMed to others.

Fantastic experience: Adam is professional, timely, friendly, and knowledgeable. Definitely a chiropractor worth entrusting your recovery to.

Negative experience: The physical therapists are excellent. However, the place is always overbooked. There were times when there were more patients than chairs in the waiting room. Many times, I was made to wait unreasonably. After over 5 months, I've had enough. I now go to another physical therapy location where there is no overbooking.

Fantastic experience: Great staff. Clinic is a busy place, but they do a great job coordinating the chaos. Worth the trip.

I’ve been having severe pain from a sprain since April, and all the ladies have led me to great results in as little as 2 weeks. I’m grateful I found them and plan to continue my recovery here

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this physical therapy clinic. After three months of treatment, my back and knees are feeling 100% better. The expertise and care provided by Leslie, Dr. De Castro, and Dr. Belmonte were exceptional. Their personalized approach and commitment to patient well-being made a significant difference in my recovery.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is nice from the receptionists to the therapists. I feel much better when I leave after working with everyone there.

Positive experience: Very nice staff but they overbook every shift, every day. You will wait at least 15 minutes after your appointment and therapists are so busy they really do not have time to watch you exercise. You will have different therapists telling you different plans of care and none of them get on the same page to ensure you have continuity of care. Parking is minimal so if you have mobility issues look elsewhere because you may have to park blocks away or cross a very busy main street.

Fantastic experience: excellent experience at Clifton SportsMed Physical Therapy. All employees are the most professional people and the most caring people. I was treated extremely well every time I went there. Excellent place for Rehab.

He is Curtious, Professional, and an overall Excellent safe driver. Fantastic experience: I go to Sports Med because i have pains in my legs. I have Arthritis in my knees. I only want to work with one therapist. Eric is excellent in the workout and the stretching that he do to my legs. I will continue to go there. The people are friendly as well.

Fantastic experience: Hands down this Physical therapy office is the best office I've ever been to. I've had previous injuries and went to 3 previous places, never went back due to the lack of service. I do plan on coming here for all my injuries not that I'm hoping for some. This office works not just as a team but as a family and I feel that I became part of the family. The best part about it is that the secretaries will treat you with respect no matter what the age whether your younger or older they will help you as long as there capable. So if your looking for a PT office I recommend you stop what your doing and stop by Clifton Sports Med.

Fantastic experience: I been a patient here in SportsMed in Clifton, for a year now. My first impression of the faculty is that its a very welcoming environment, friendly staffs, and amazing physical therapists. I highly recommend seeing Gene, he was my main guy, he taught me many techniques to improve the pain in my neck and back. And he also explained all the technical information that I wasnt aware of. He knowledge me about my condition better than my doctor could explain to me. Im highly pleased to have meet Gene and everyone from SportsMed.

Fantastic experience: This place is great! I am a busy person and PT was the last thing I wanted to do, but SportsMed always worked with my schedule and squeezed me in whenever I could come by. They are open early and late, which worked great for me as a working woman. The therapists were great and truly cared about my needs. I can easily say I would recommend SportsMed to anyone!!

Fantastic experience: From day one I have been welcomed, not as a patient, but as a family member. It's very clear that everyone here cares about the health and wellbeing of everyone that walks through the door. When I first started my physical therapy sessions, I found it next to impossible to to walk and now I'm able to run again. They restored my freedom as well as my health. 5 starts isn't enough.

Positive experience: This is the place to come for your physical therapy. The staff here are wonderful from the driver, front desk staff, the staff that assist you with your exercises to the physical therapist, chiropractor and accupuncture. Let's not forget the young man who provides therapy for your hand. Everyone is wonderful. I love coming here for my therapy. The staff here feels like family. I highly recommend this facility. *Update I had to come to give it only 3 stars as one of the staff members said my services were fully covered and were not. Always double check with your insurance before getting other services claimed to be covered.

Fantastic experience: I am leaving this review which is mostly because of negligence on behalf of really not sure. My issue is on July 26th 23, the day before my surgery for my spine(lumbar) a staff member came back with what I believe is covid. Here are the details, staff member came back after 2 weeks of not being seen with a mask on. When I asked her you went on a “vacation” she said “yes a stay in my house alone away from everyone vacation” so basically a quarantine. After about 20 min of doing my own thing I saw her coughing and touching materials giving to older people and myself. I know she was the one who gave me coronavirus while healing from a lumbar fusion. The hospital and doctors of Jersey city medical center went on a 2 weeks back track and nobody staff and patients had the virus I was the only one. Not only did I struggle to beat this virus with a compromised immune system due to the surgery I gave it to my mother who also had a difficult time with the virus. Idk how things are handled with Covid at this location but I do suggest that you should at least minimum make sure they are negative 3 times as I am going to just be treated. They don’t like it to bad your putting patients life on the line and they shouldn’t have to worry about getting sick ontop of being hurt. I didn’t want to get to serious with this review. I know the employee who gave it to me and prob more people and I know it was her. The dots and doctors and everything is aligning with her and it’s just to perfect. I will continue to use the therapy because you’re prob one of the best in this area but I am not upset just a bit concerned that this can happen again and for what? Why put people in this situation? She could have waited a extra 3 days and been fine but no she came in still carrying the virus and got me sick like really sick. Lucky for me I guess I have a strong body.

Negative experience: March 2023 I stop by at Clifton location and confirmed and make sure they are acceping my AARP/United medicare in my group plan $10.00 CO-PAY with front desk each visit and statred my physical therapy and after a 2 months of theraphy I started getting a bill for theraphy $35.00 CO-PAY AND TOTAL OF $435.00, so I called the staff and billing dept why are billing me and they it's from Therapist and they are not going to cancel the invoice. after calling my insurance they told me Sports Med therapy IS not in the so sports med employees LIE TO ME so I stop going there for physical theraphy. I DON'T RECCOMEND ANY ONE TO GO FOR PHYSICAL THERAPY. They are over billing and frauding the medicare and insurance company.

Negative experience: I was totally rushed out during my appointment. Was not relaxing at all. I had an appointment at 4 pm, I called at 3 to see if they can push it for 4:30z the lady over the phone said she can do 5 pm. I said okay. Got there at 5pm, the lady who had me was not aware of the appointment time change. I waited 30 mins to get treated. The lady says I have an another appointment at 6. She rushed the whole procedure. Cupped by back for literally 1 min. There was an issue with the communication between staff I guess. I won’t be going back.

Fantastic experience: SportsMed Clifton is a great place for physical therapy. I am 7 weeks post-op for total knee replacement and they have helped me tremendously. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It isn't easy, but it's worth the effort. Everyone there - Keep up the good work!

Positive experience: Gentlemen in transport are very nice & considerate. Damier in OT knowledgeable & considerate. I have problems w my left hand & arm. When I made & got an appt quickly I told them I would not be able to do paperwork there as hand was too bad to hold clipboard. I was told that there were just abt 3 papers to sign, so I went. Got there & was handed a clipboard with abt 8 pages to fill out. I was hurt so much that I was in worse shape than ever. I got past it & continued altho hand hurt quite badly for days. Tues I was to start arm therapy. I was plopped in a chair where I sat quite awhile without anyone so much as acknowledging me. Was given a couple exercises in a chair just outside a curtained room. I was to lift my GOOD arm up. Therapist came out from behind the curtain & hit my GOOD arm. All she said was sorry. Not even are u ok. Then they had me get on a table; then get down & sit in chair again. Over an hr & never even introduced to a therapist, so I left. Today the mgr called me abt what happened & as I started telling her, she said she wasn't there on Tues & she wasn't going to argue with me. So why did she call me? Everything a waste of time. Hope noone else goes thru this. They overbook & patient waits. Other SportsMeds aren't like this, but unfortunately they don't have hand therapists.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed today. They have gave me an appointment at 6pm but the therapist isn't available because they are about to close. Idk if they about to close why they gave me a appointment and collected money for that sation. I paid for a service that i didnt get... Be aware of the appointment time. Do not get anything after 5pm

Fantastic experience: I have had good quality care with the PTs. and the PT assistants. The assistants watch to make sure you are doing the exercise right. My only complaint is that it gets crowded at times. It is the price you pay for quality PT.
