Fantastic experience: What an incredible experience. My body was so weak and unstable when I started I didn't see an end, but Emily was there the entire time, guiding me through each day, She created a plan that addressed everything I needed and changed up the tasks to keep it interesting. Emily included me in decisions and addressed my concerns. Now, I can balance and walk confidently. I was able to finally breathe this huge sigh of relief after more than a year since developing my movement issues. There aren't enough Thank Yous to Athletico and specifically Emily for getting me back.

Fantastic experience: This is the only Physical therapy I would recommend for ever person. Emily and Kirk are fantastic at helping to push you to your goals. They are always helpful and understanding.

Mathew always greeted people by name and took a personal interest in knowing clients and making them feel comfortable. Enjoyed my time with both therapists in the office and the aides. Always felt like I had their attention and they were aware of my case and interested in helping me manage discomfort.

Fantastic experience: I've been attending physical therapy at this location for about a year now, and have been extremely satisfied with my experience from beginning to end! Matthew at the front desk is always warm and friendly, and Kirk is unfailingly passionate and knowledgeable about what he does as a physical therapist. It's clear that the patient's needs and well-being are the top priority for all staff, and I've had significant improvement in my health concerns since beginning treatment. I don't plan to get treatment anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: I've started physical therapy here in November 2023 for a work injury and I've made so much progress with the help of the the team here at Peoria Heights. I'm not 100% to my baseline, but the exercises and stretches have definitely helped me regain strength and flexibility. The environment is one where you feel like family as they really care about your well-being and overall progress. I also love that they listen to my concerns and give feedback when necessary. Special thanks to the Peoria Heights Athletico Staff!

Negative experience: I had been to Athletico Physical Therapy centers. Their patient and trainer ratio is too high. I didn't get the enough attention and wait for the trainer instructions. Athletico is too greedy.

Fantastic experience: First of all, I have to say in the last 6 years I haven't been able to find anyone to help me with my situation. Kirk is an absolutely amazing physical therapist and always finding new ways to help his patients. He is very knowledgeable and creative when it comes to my treatments. I would highly recommend anyone to this clinic. Hands down, he is top on my list when it comes to Doctors/Therapist. Not only that, his staff makes it very welcoming and fun to be there. Everyone has a great attitude and fun personalities.

Happy to report graduation from the program and some great new warm ups for the gym.

He is professional and so knowledgeable. Kirk also took on the goal to improve my osteoporosis bones by challenging my muscles with RBF therapy - another area in his expertise. I have many more tools in my box to hopefully keep me pain free and learned how much more I need to stay in shape.

Fantastic experience: The team is working on our Aunts LSVT-BIG Therapy for her Parkinson’s disease. They are very knowledgeable on this type of treatment and pleasant to work with.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are very friendly and provide great service. They are always busy but that don’t stop them from helping out and they’re never rushing you. Best of all if the plan they had for your therapy didn’t work they will work on a different one. They want you to walk out their doors pain free.

Fantastic experience: I had rotator cuff surgery many months ago, but didn't go to Athletico-Prospect Heights for my rehab. I went elsewhere due to reasons I won't go in to here, but it had nothing to do with Athletico. I deeply regret that decision, so I quit the other place and went to Athletico instead. I just wish I had listened to myself and gone there in the first place. You see, I had knee replacement surgery in another town in 2017, and Athletico there did an absolutely superb job! Now we have to do the best we can with the shoulder here in Peoria because of so much lost time and inadequate PT at the first place i went to. I just love the Athletico location here in Peoria even more than I did the first one I went to in the other town. Kirk and Elizabeth know what they're doing, without a doubt, and I fully trust them! Plus, they are so much fun to work with. Then there is Shelley, the person truly in charge at the front desk. She also knows what she's doing, and it feels great to be in competent hands all around. I am even going to mention the part-time aide, Santinique, because she is so much more than "just an aide." Everyone works hard to protect all of us from Covid, cleaning equipment and wearing masks. It's a comfortable atmosphere and everyone is very professional and works well as a team. For anyone complaining about their care here, especially after the fact, has no one but themselves to blame. You have to be part of your own plan and speak up if you disagree or don't understand something, or want to do something a different way. I did, and they were very receptive.

Fantastic experience: Kirk did a great job of assessing and identifying root cause for some knee pain I was having while running. He has equipped me with exercises and knowledge to help me be more well rounded with my fitness. He is very knowledgeable, and I would highly recommend him to other runners looking to improve their form/fitness. The only criticism would be that he was kept very busy. It seems the great care could be further improved by increased PT/patient ratio.

Fantastic experience: Most of my interactions were with Shelly or Kirk. They earned the 5 star review. They handled all my concerns and questions with patience and knowledge. Athletico (as a company) seemed to have a good amount of equipment. The facility was generally clean. Any issues pertaining to Covid and mask policies were handled immediately. I will say if you need physical therapy, Kirk can help you. He is extremely knowledgeable and a great communicator. The better you can describe the issues, the better he can help. Shelly was also an exceptional person to be around. Her warm demeanor can really cheer you up. I wish there was a Shelly everywhere I went! Although I reviewed Athletico as 5 stars, I do believe there is room for improvement. It seems like the company is more likely to understaff instead of having multiple therapists on hand. Again, Kirk is probably the best there ever was, and I never felt like my needs weren't met, but Athletico keeps him busy. Another issue I had was the location of the facility. Starbucks creates a lot of traffic and makes the parking lot entrance/exit very congested. Be careful!

The first time I called to find out information for my mom's physical therapy, Shelly not only had answers for me immediately, she also took care of reaching out to mom's Doctor, insurance & all the paperwork needed to get mom's P.T. started the same week..Honestly I just say enough..Elizabeth comes to mom's once a week and I bring her once a week now..She & Kirk are excellent & experienced with working with the elderly and helping build their strength and work so well on their weaknesses..My mom has exceeded more than we ever expected and continues to do better every week..learning how to get up off the ground & maintaining better balance and core strength..which she could never do before..We are truly blessed for this Athletico Team of incredible people!!!! I Highly Highly recommend this life changing office!!

Fantastic experience: I worked with Kirk for 3 months before and after my ACL surgery. He is a fantastic therapist who really knows what he's doing and really makes sure to care for you as the patient. Elizabeth was also fantastic to work with when I got to be with her, and of course it was always nice to be greeted by Shelly at the door and on the phone.

Fantastic experience: Kirk at the Peoria Heights Athletico is amazing. I was hesitant to go to therapy due to pain from my frozen shoulder. Kirk designed a therapy program to meet my specific needs. I am very pleased with my progress as my mobility has improved greatly. Shelley always welcomes me, and has addressed all my scheduling and billing questions.

Fantastic experience: Have multiple injuries and chronic pain. After 2-3 months of a combination of hands-on therapy by Kirk and some by Elizabeth my improvement was more than expected. The home exercise programs and at the location routines have really helps and will continue to be used at home. Negative experience: Be sure to ask pricing in advance. I have the impression that they set up repeating sessions based only on profit motive. In my case they set up six visits so that I could do lunges and squats in their facility and then charged me $482/hour. It wasn’t even one-on-one attention as the therapist had 3-4 other patients to monitor concurrently. My condition didn’t require any hands-on manipulation so I think it was unethical for them recommend so many visits simply to give me a list of jumping jacks and skipping to do in their office hallway.

Fantastic experience: Great experience! Kirk treated me for plantar fasciitis. He is knowledgeable and professional, and very caring. Shelly was very pleasant and helpful for scheduling and insurance questions.

Fantastic experience: I suffered a heel injury from a running workout this summer, and Kirk evaluated the injury and gave me some physical therapy exercises. I am pleased to report that my injury has healed, and I ran a 4 mile race 32 seconds faster than last year (when I had no injuries). Thank you for all your help!

Fantastic experience: All the staff here is wonderful. Lane, Kirk, Shelly and Cassidy have treated me very nice all from the start of my visits. I spent 5 months with an injury to my left foot that had failed to get any better and after starting therapy I have had a number of improvements. A couple set backs but a number of good steps going forward. Without them I would still be back at square one.

Fantastic experience: I had a treatment appointment and tried to cancel due to a severe headache. I spoke with Kirk the therapist and he adviced me to still come in. When i arrived Shelly took me in right away and started treatment for my headache! By the time i was finished with treatment my headache was completely gone! It was such a relief after suffering all day and I cannot thank him enough! I would highly reccomend this company to anyone of my friends or family! My treatment for my car accident is going well!
