Inland Valley Rehabilitation Center: Reviews
Negative experience: They never answer there phones or call back for patient updates to family.
Negative experience: Horrible care my uncle was here for almost 6 months and we had to be on the ball for feedings/showers/diaper changes/meds/daily change of clothes. Staff is not friendly and gets upset when you call the light. Several times we waited over an hour for someone to help us w call light on. We got him outta there! Feel sorry for patients that are stuck there with no family to look after them. I noticed some staff doing diaper changes with door wide open in the daytime everybody and anybody could see this patient named w no curtains closed they didn't care. Keep your family away from this place if you love them!
Fantastic experience: I like to say Thanks to this facility my son Ivan is doing good at home so far thanks God, there was some difficult times, but they always took care of it, to all the stuff, the nurses , social service, administration, thank you very much and God bless you all.
Fantastic experience: My Mother Had A Friend Whose Mother Was In The Inland Valley Rehabilitation Center Until She Passed Away In 2016. My Mother And I Would Visit Her Friend’s Mother On Some Occasions And Even Celebrate Her Birthday. We Had So Many Good Memories Of Visiting Her And Giving Her A Lot Of Gifts. My Mother And Her Friend Already Miss Her Friend’s Mother For 8 Years
Fantastic experience: Great Center.
Negative experience: This is by far the worst place I've ever been to in my life my father was here in a coma they did nothing for him until I got there it was horrible like he didn't need any help. There was no Dr. In charge and for two days they never gave him any meds or fed him. I'm soo angry that this place is still here. Only one nurse was caring about his situation. By far the worst experience of my life!!! Wish there was a minus star for this place!!!
Negative experience: The only good thing I can say is the CNA LISA is far most the best staff out if the DR, LVN, RN and any other employee I came across
Negative experience: Horrible place. Understaffed and poor, negligent patient "care".
Negative experience: Kaiser should be ashamed for sending anyone to this place we were told my husband would get intense PT. That was a lie they just put you in a geri chair .the food is awful. This place is dark and depressing don't send your family there.the door to the DR. Says don't kock on this door find a charge nurse
Negative experience: It's ok
Fantastic experience: Heartfelt thanks to all the kind staffs, hardworking caregivers and compassionate nurses who looked after my Dad. Especially to Star Lewis and Valentine who are both exceptional, my family appreciate your kind devotion caring for our loveone.
Positive experience: Our dear Auntie Annie was in the Memory care ward for several years before she passed at 100 years of age. I would like to thank nurses Anita, Miashia, Joel, and Maria for their kindness to Annie. Given their workload they manage to be caring. Dorothy the receptionist is terrific and professional. (Though a bit hard to get on the phone at times). Ziada in social services was also helpful.
Negative experience: My 90 year old MoM has dementia and is a long term patient that cannot walk nor use her hands at this facility. I agree some staff members are friendly than others, but some how my mom’s expensive glasses/frames were either stolen off of her face or thrown away carelessly. It’s been well over 9 weeks to date as not one person at this facility has reached out since the reporting. With family members consistently present and Social workers (2) limited caring for the whole facility, some things seemed to be simply dismissed. AMERICA has to do better with health care and the well being of the elderly that has worked so hard all their lives to just be put in bed to die! SMH…..
Negative experience: Administration, social services or business office do not help patients
Positive experience: My mother has been at this facility for almost a year and compared to other places that she has been I really like this facility, my mom has not complained about any nurse/cna/tech. My mom gets treated very well here. I gave 4 stars because case management/social services are not very good at doing their job and the doctors there do not do anything to improve your loved one’s situation, they literally come once a week, stand at the door and say hi to the patient that what my mom has told me. The doctors are also very hard to get ahold of and never return calls. Besides doctors, and social services the staff is great. Also they are very linient with visitation and you must test for Covid before visiting.
Negative experience: My grandfather left this place with a bed sore on his coccyx. When he checked in this place, he didn't have one AT ALL.
Fantastic experience: The nurses and staff are amazing! They are so caring to the memory care patients and know how to take care of each individuals needs. Mrs. Sheila Harper who runs the facility is a blessing as she works with you and your needs! These people truly care and go beyond with helping with insurance and all needs of patients as well as the family! It doesn’t matter if it’s old and outdated as another reviewer commented isn’t it the care for your loved one that matters! The answer should be yes. Thank you to all the nurses and supervisors for your love and care for the individuals in this facility. Heather Montecinos
Negative experience: This place is horrible, never have staff and they have a kitchen supervisor doing also housekeeping supervisor, disgusting…also no supplies, wherever you look is duty also and important patients are not treated good 00000 stars
Positive experience: I Loved The LEARNING Experience here.
Positive experience: The staff don't care very much about the patients, not very well kept either.
Fantastic experience: After considering various institutes, my insurance company selected Inland Valley Care & Rehab for its accommodation to administer the 24-hour antibiotic IV treatment I required. Initially, I was hesitant upon discovering its two-star rating and numerous negative reviews. However, my perception of this facility immediately changed after spending a couple of days there, and my appreciation increased along with my stay. Although the building and its furnishings are old and antiquated, the nursing staff and day-to-day operations far exceeded my expectations. Taking the administration of my IV as an example, the nurses went above and beyond. Not only did they set up a new bag of antibiotics every four hours, but they also returned right after completing the infusion to flush the catheter and disconnect the tube. This thoughtful service allowed me three hours of free time, which was a significant improvement compared to my experiences at the hospital, where I remained constantly connected to the IV facility. The nursing staff worked in three shifts, yet their system was incredibly efficient. Even during shift changes or when my room was changed, the necessary care seamlessly continued from one shift to another and from one section to another. I never encountered any excuses or attempts to shift responsibilities to others. On one occasion, I discussed with the night-shift nurse about the possibility of installing a PICC catheter line to avoid the discomfort of repeated needle insertions on my hands. The nurse agreed to report it to the doctor for approval. To my surprise, early the next morning, a professional was already hired and arrived at my bedside, and the PICC line was successfully installed. From registered nurses (RNs) to certified nursing assistants (CNAs), all the staff members were exceptionally humble and polite. I never felt like I was being supervised or managed; instead, I felt genuinely cared for and served. The meals provided were professionally prepared, and a weekly menu was available in advance. Despite the food materials not being top-notch, the cooking itself was undoubtedly superior. Additionally, fresh coffee was provided in the hallway during late morning and late afternoon, and we had the option to order snacks from the kitchen for a coffee break. While this rehabilitation center may receive a low rating for its infrastructure, its human resources and operational systems, i.e., what the quality service is based upon, undoubtedly deserve the highest rating.
Negative experience: ELDERLY ABUSE!!!
Positive experience: I think inland. Vally rehab is old but clean I was glad I went.there I got to see for myself. Yes it is very old looking but the nurses are nice and the physical therapist was awesome she explained.everything ahe could .and when she couldn't she called the nurse so she could explain I was impressed with the care my husband was receiving
Negative experience: Run, don’t walk from this place, zero communication, trying to help my mother get her husband home from this place has been a nightmare, he has missed all of his post op Dr appointments, they don’t even try to help the the patient improve, it’s a warehouse
Negative experience: They dont desire to be open at all. Horrible place. they dont take care of their patients, i feel so much anger for what they did to my father, my father was there for a few days, he almost died because they didnt even bother checking his sugar level, leveling his feeding tube all dirty, his catheter wasnt clean properly. Inland Valley Rehab you shouldnt play with people's lives. there are so many families that trusted this place with their love ones. shame on all of you all.
Negative experience: This place is disgusting, roaches everywhere. They don’t clean. They treat their patients horribly!!! The CNA’s are lazy especially on the night shift and usually FaceTime and make phone calls on there shifts and are miserable.. I seen for my own eyes. Please don’t leave your family in this place. If I could give them 0 stars I would.
Negative experience: No after hour phone to call they are nice but aloud my mom to lay in a wet diaper for hours. Treat the people like cattle very sad....
Negative experience: Worse place ever less than one day patient fell of the bed negligence
Negative experience: This place is terrible. It’s always on under staff. Most of the time patients do not take showers. It’s know time to give them shower. Nothing works. It’s know blankets for the residence. The place is very nasty, dirty
Fantastic experience: My dad was there when he cut his leg amputated he said the staff was nice and they have good food
Positive experience: My 81 year old Mom (Miss Donna) just came home from this facility last week. I wanted to thank the staff for treating her with kindness and respect.
Fantastic experience: Staff is very helpful courteous and all out just responsive to our needs I've been here for 5 months and I've been very happy with the care I have received
Negative experience: This facility should literally be shut down!! If you don't love your mother, father, or family member and you want them to suffer severe neglect and abuse, then send them to this facility!! My father was literally being starved to death at this facility. His catheter was ripped out so harshly that by an employee, that he had to be rushed to a hospital because he was bleeding so bad and in so much pain from the trauma. Instead of the facility staff notifying us that one of their staff carelessly ripped out the catheter, they simply delayed discharging my father, hoping he would stop bleeding from him private parts, before he came home, so we wouldn't notice his injury. My father can't feed himself and basically can't move at all. The staff knows this, yet he was not being fed by staff properly. As a result, my father lost over 35 lbs in 3 weeks!! They were literally letting him starve to death in that bed. If he had not come home and stay another 3 weeks to a month, he definitely would have died from neglect and starvation at this facility. My father was completely lethargic when he came home. Within days of my family and I feeding him and treating him like a human being, he began speaking again and showing signs of life
Negative experience: My dad was discharged from the hospital to inland Valley rehabilitation center and the same day I took him home with me. There was no way I was going to leave him in there. The conditions are terrible, looks unsanitary and staff don't see to care much. There is only one nurse for like 20 patients, curtains are falling apart, furniture are old, beds are old and they use only one sheet for the bed that only covers half of the mattress. My dad was there for wound care, but I didn't trust them with what I saw.
Fantastic experience: My mother was at this facility for many months. Yes it’s old, yes the food sucks! There is no area for non smokers to go outside that sucks! However the staff was amazing to my mom! I can’t blame them for the building etc. everyone was so good to her and us!
Fantastic experience: I was very apprehensive about this facility initially because of the reviews but my mother was here for a month and she received excellent care. When she arrived she had a trach, couldn't walk/talk and was on a feeding tube. One month later, they weened her off the trach, she was out of the bed walking with a walker and they eliminated the feeding tube as the speech therapist did a wonderful job accessing my mother. She is on a soft diet now but she's eating and that will change in a couple of weeks. I want to thank Steve the Adminstrator for running such a great facility and for all the nursing staff that rallied around my mother and rooted for her success. She's home now and living life. She is functioning at 80% of her base. In a couple of months, with the outpatient care, she will be back to 100%. Also, thank you Dr. Jay for your excellent care and attention to my mother along with the rehabilitation team. I appreciate you so much. You all are amazing.
Negative experience: Disgusting display of professionalism from the staff here. Very hostile for no apparent reason.
Negative experience: Horrible place. They don't have enough staff. Never answer the phones. They don't care about patients.
Negative experience: Very very BAD they were kill my mom IF YOU LOVE YOUR MOM PAPA Don’t LET THE LOVE THERE THEY WILL KILLS YOUR LOVE THEY ARE THE KIILER
Negative experience: My son was in this place’s. It was dirty and the staff didn’t seem to care about anyone. They would stand in the hall and talk and not help the people. My son needed to use the restroom and they would make him wait for hours. Never go there again if needed.
Negative experience: The staff doesn't seem to care that family and friends want to visit patients that are in hospice. They place people that are in hospice with other patients. The staff will say that you can visit the hospice person in their room, but then when you arrive they bring the patient out in a wheelchair, making the patient uncomfortable. They also don't allow family or friends to walk the patients to their rooms. Finally, when family and friends drop off personal belongings to the patient, the staff will not give it to the patient. A friend dropped off a cell phone for a patient and asked the staff to charge it because the elderly husband was trying to contact his wife and the staff lost the phone. When the staff was confronted with the issue, the managers yelled and blamed the friend for losing the phone. The manager finally found the phone and acted like no big deal. I don't trust this place and I wouldn't expect them to care for their patients needs and wants.
Negative experience: My family member is new to Inland Valley. Already they have fallen out of bed. And they have a bed side sitter. They couldn't tell me how long they were on the floor and refused to give me names. Family member refused a tube feed and instead of still connecting the feed, they let them go without until night shift. I'd they don't have a personal phone they can't reach out after 5pm
Negative experience: Very frustrated with this nursing home, my family member is a patient there & has hospice care, he has been there since Sept 15th & we have not been able to see him yet. He doesn't have much longer & we need to see him. I call & the phone just rings or I get transferred and no answer there. The social worker has been really nice. But since I can not get the covid vaccine due to my health, can they at least bring the patient outside in the garden area in a wheelchair to see his family before it's to late.
Negative experience: El peor servicio ise una cita y cuando llegué no tenían al paciente y me dijeron que regresaba en 5 horas más tarde que locura de servicio
Negative experience: Try to recover my mom phone since March and nobody's can help.....
Negative experience: They don’t let me or my family see my mom or talk to her on the phone I miss my mom
Positive experience: Appropriate place for retirement
Negative experience: Inland Valley Rehabilitation Center is the worst for patient and family communication. You would think they would go out of their way to help. NO! They hire High school students to run the activities department. So very sad and disappointed! I I guess I will need to hire an attorney to help me contact my mother!!Pomona Valley really knows how to relate to families. No waiting on hold. No push back. We call to Skype with my mom and the nurse is very willing to take Ipad to her room. That's all we are wanting. To see and talk to my mom!!
Negative experience: The one in charge does not know how to talk or treat their employees!!!
Negative experience: Would not recommend anyone to work here or to leave there elderly family here. Horrible management toward the working staff cna/ lvns get mistreated. Currently looking for a new rehab center for my family member.
Negative experience: Please take the time to read this This place is not a place you want to place your loved ones. This place has the worst case of unprofessionalism they look down upon their housekeepers and CNAS . They have switched management based upon how this facility has been ran before. A place that cannot appreciate all their workers no matter their wage is a place and environment you do not want. All workers contribute to patient care whether it’s a house keeper to maintain the facility clean or a CNA to care for your loved one. There is no room for bad management in the medical field let’s take care of the vulnerable.
Fantastic experience: Terrible terrible communication two three times my mom went to the hospital and was never called and told but yeah they would call me for stupid things midnight 1 in the morning to see to let me know that they gave her some adderal because she was screaming and yelling she passed away today in the hospital that I was not told about until the hospital called me don't put anybody you love or care about in this place.
Negative experience: Absolutely the worst care ever. Completely neglected critical care under their supervision. We removed my mom only after 1 week of being admitted only to have palliative care order to a legitimate hospital for dehydration and malnutrition. Avoid putting your loved ones in here if you value their health.
Negative experience: Do not please if you really love your family do not leave them at this place the nurse's are not caring they don't know what they're doing. Forget it if you need dialysis your transportation picks you up hours after you are done they have no time for anything but gossiping in the halls. The director of this place has no clue in caring for these elderly people in need. They say they have activities lies no they don't. Never ever place someone here you might as well take them out of their misery because staying here might as be hell on Earth!!!
Negative experience: The staff is very incompetent. You have to wait on the phone long hold times to speak to your loved one. I do not recommend this place. I’ve waited for over 15 minutes to speak to my loved one.
Negative experience: This is the worst place ever!! I hate it! All the staff are idiots that don’t know what they are doing or don’t speak English. Constantly put on hold over and over and over. I’m so tired of it. Do your jobs right!
Negative experience: If i could give a negative i would this place is disgusting they dont care about the people in there you can never get a straight answer or anyone to pick up the phone. What ever you do dont put any family members here for anything.
Negative experience: My mother was a fully functioning senior, able to drive and care for herself until she had a medical emergency March 2018. She has made an amazing recovery, but was sent to this place, far from her home in the central valley, because she still has her trache in. Her intention has always been to completely recover and have the trache removed so she can go back to her life. This process has been hindered by Inland Valley Rehabs half-axxed effort to actually provide rehabilitation. Her physical therapy sessions are inconsistent. They do not support her efforts to be more independent, like taking her to the commode rather than just throw a diaper on her. They are inattentive and do not provide her easy access to the nurse call button. Now they have exhausted her insurance and medicare benefits and want her to sign up for medicaid so they can continue to milk her for all the money they can get. She will have to forfeit her retirement and social security that she worked for for 30 years to the government, so they can continue to get paid. I think that was the plan all along. As long as they are getting paid, why would they want a patient to be able to leave? One of the girls who works in the billing office shamelessly told me that it is not them taking her money, it's the government. Twelve of one and a dozen of the other. They could have made more of an effort to get her out before her medicare and insurance ran out, but why do that? And they say she can pay cash, $600 plus per day, but they need 30 days upfront. What a racket.
Negative experience: This place has a shortage of personnel to help patients. Some of the CNA's need to have better bedside manner even to the point of catering to those they like and neglecting others. When my wife has to sit on the commode for a long time, then something is wrong. Of course, there are those who are very patient-oriented. This needs more pay or rewards You owners are more concerned about the bottom line. Not the patients Wake up and smell the roses. You need to come speak with the patients and families. We could write more, but what's the use. Maybe we need to speak to the State ( CAL).
Positive experience: My dad was here for about a month. Like most large nursing home facilities, you have to stay on top of the care and cleanliness of your loved one or they will be neglected. I had to take a month off work and visit everyday to ensure my father was being properly attended to on a daily basis.
Negative experience: My grandmother been staying here for about a year and just passed away yesterday. This is the worst place to ever let ur grandparents stay. They don't care about the patients all they want is a check ✔ they feed them nasty food and dont check on them often. It smells in there too. I dont recommend this place for anybody this was the last place my grandmother was at and called her home before she got sick and died. I hate this place !!!
