Negative experience: Keep driving if you have a child that might need to be admitted. The Pediatric department is so horrible. The nurses are terrible. The Dr has too many patients. Just keep driving because your child will not be a priority. The nurses are lazy and want you out of there. They bully you. FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR CHILD KEEP DRIVING

Positive experience: Absolutely exceptional staff of doctors, nurses, therapists, etc. All very talented, professional, and kind. My only complaint is how ugly this hospital is. It’s extremely depressing inside with its old walls and floors and fluorescent lights, and no windows. They really need to remodel the whole facility.

Negative experience: Pomona valley Er A+, maternity ward A, pediatric dept. F. Its horrible, go somewhere else. The laziest self-serving bunch of nurses and Drs out there. They love to complain at the nursing station about patients and drs. They push patients out before they are ready to go home. The Dr forgot to order my child a medication, maybe she shouldn't be the Dr for the whole floor. I see what they mean by practicing medicine. I took my child to a different Dr and they could not believe that they let my child out of the hospital so quickly. Go somewhere else. Your child's health is important, go anywhere but here to the pediatric deptF-.

Negative experience: My child was recently born here and I can’t thank the nursing staff here enough for there hard work and attentiveness. My issue and reasoning with the low rating is due to the security at the front desk with checking in / old white lady that sits next to them. On the day of discharge with band on wrist. A security guard with obvious little man syndrome all of a sudden begins to press me for a sticker. When I was going in and out of a hospital I stayed at for three days. I wasn’t asked by anyone else minus the first day for an id. Even going in and out I was never asked. All of a sudden some prick try’s to press me when I’m just trying to leave with my child after finally being discharged. The white lady who made it difficult for my family along with security to go visit us all of a sudden wants to freak out and states to press a panic button. Well then press it because I was the one panicking. I need my child and you’re trying to not allow me to do what I’ve been doing for three days of going up and down to retrieve my child. I even had the nurse call down to confirm I’m trying to pick up my child. I even gave all the info of the room I was staying at. Nope, they were freaking out over a sticker. If I wasn’t staying here how did I have a band on me. When the nurse calls down all of a sudden the old white lady first can’t take the call because it’s meant for security. She knew who was calling which confirmed I was staying there. She then gets up and leaves, then it goes to security, nurse says the same thing on the phone to the prick of a security. Nope can’t go up over a sticker even though I have a band. All of a sudden policy’s are different for nurses and security? When did security get little man syndrome and think they can run that place when all they do is sit behind a desk. I requested a supervisor and when she came down I advised her of my issues. I even tell her the guy at the desk was the same guy from before but she states there’s three of the same guys that look the same and that they check everyone in, and should be asking for id. I ask again well then if this is true who came to our room and was checked in. Because I can provide each name of the person checked in who was family and friends who were also given difficulties going up stairs. If there is a record provide me names and they couldn’t. Then they ask for my name and guess what my name was in the system. Silence from the retard over the desk still. I as well brought up the difficulties our family had going up, and again the old white lady next to them stating the mother’s child was never in the hospital even with all the information given. Took them a while to get up stairs and guess what same thing all of a sudden a name popped up. Overall security here thinks they’re above everyone including nursing staff apparently, and it was even mentioned that this isn’t the first time they make things difficult for expecting parents or visitors to go upstairs. Same thing I told that supervisor who kept repeating that’s she’s going to have to have a talk with her staff and I repeated that I hope she does. Because obviously these people are making things difficult, can’t look up information correctly and think they’re above nurses when called down to. That security staff is garbage especially the prick who worked around 6pm 12/11. I have to be specific since apparently the supervisor has three same looking security guards. Why should I have to show ID when I’m in your system and have a band on me. That security from 12/11 can take that sticker and shove it way up there. No one is gonna stop me from retrieving my child. If you’re coming here and your child is being delivered here don’t take the security’s bull shit.

Negative experience: This hospital is the worse hospital I have ever seen!! Unfortunately my eldest brother was there and suffered brain damage. The nurses were very rude and I heard them complaining about having to change him. If you don’t like the line of work that you chose, get another job. Unfortunately he died but I witnessed the level of care at this facility. Remember that anyone can be in a position that you can be dependent upon other people to care for you, we all have turns

Negative experience: HORRIBLE. I am 58 yrs old, and my very first time to visit emergency department. I have insurance and everything else to get a fair service, at the least of my expectations. I went in for a simple 30 minute procedure, I was in extreme pain for rectal abcess. Can someone EXPLAIN from your management why I have to be there for 7 hours? Worst is, the original purpose of my visit which is to drain pus from my ass, already burst on the 4th hour, while waiting at the lobby. With my underwear soaked already, they moved me to a room just to wait another 2 hours to get service. No doctor showed up, until my wife flagged this Doctor Anthony( thank you Sir) who immediately attended to us even though he's not the original provider. Again thank you Doc Anthony, who finished the procedure in less than 30 minutes. It is so unfair on my end being hostaged there for about 7 hours. Last time I checked this is not a government hospital, I expect a better treatment because I'm a paying customer. I suspect they don't have enough staff, reason for the 7 hour wait, OR the doctors are cherry picking which job they want to do. Wake up people at POMONA VALLEY EMERGENCY, is that how you treat your customers? This place is TERRIBLE! NO thanks!

Fantastic experience: I was discharged recently today. Wanted to give a shout-out to the awesome nurses who took care of me in the ER room and the nurses from the hospital that I can remember. From the ER room I really wanted to give special thanks to Christina, Luis, Justin and Angie. I really appreciate the enthusiasm and extra care you guys gave me. Sorry if I kept having to go to the bathroom a million times but it meant a lot that you guys were patient enough to keep hooking/unhooking me back to the machines whenever I came back. Seriously thank you for making the night go by easier before they got me a room in the hospital! You guys made me feel safe and got an awesome sense of humor. Especially you Justin! From my hospital room, the names I can remember were Josefina, Mel, and Krysten. As well as the rest of the nurses who I forgot their names but whoever was there from 11/27/24 - 11/28/24, I do appreciate your kindness and efforts for taking care of me before I went home. Overall had a very pleasant experience from all the staff that took care of me while I was there. Really appreciate you guys. Huge thank you !!!

Negative experience: I was there for my daughter pregnancy ultrasound. We arrived 10 minutes before her appointment and took them more than a hour after the appointment time to be seeing. They should be more communicative and let the patient know before you arrive that they are running late to accommodate their schedule and not keep you waiting so long. Plus they charge you $25 if you miss your appointment without giving them a 24 hours' notice.

Negative experience: 9/23/2024, That night, I accidentally cut my finger while chopping vegetables, resulting in continuous bleeding. Since the wound was deep and I couldn’t stop the bleeding, I went to the emergency department of this hospital. Upon arrival, I provided my information and was told to wait. At this point, my entire right hand and arm were covered in blood, but no one seemed to care about the urgency of the situation. During this time, I asked my wife to search on Google for ways to stop bleeding because I felt uneasy about how the hospital was handling the situation. Google suggested a powder commonly used by police and the military to stop bleeding. After waiting for 30 minutes, I finally saw a male nurse. He took a quick look at my wound and said it would need stitches to stop the bleeding. I asked how long I would need to wait, and he said around 5-6 hours. Meanwhile, my wound was still bleeding profusely, with blood dripping onto the floor. I told him I couldn’t wait that long as I was losing too much blood. He said there was nothing he could do. I then asked him about the powder I found on Google and whether it could help stop the bleeding. He dismissed it, saying it didn’t exist and the only solution was to stitch the wound, then told me to go back to the waiting area. Feeling desperate, I decided to leave because no one can wait 5-6 hours while continuously losing blood. I went to a nearby CVS, found the powder Google mentioned, and used it to stop the bleeding successfully. On October 10th, they sent me a bill asking me to pay for the visit. I think this is absolutely shameless. They provided me with no help, yet they still had the audacity to demand payment. They are no different from robbers! Moreover, the nurse’s dismissive attitude could have led to me losing even more blood, allowing them to charge insurance for a more serious case. I strongly advise against visiting this hospital's emergency department. They are terrible, inexperienced, and lack proper medical expertise.

Negative experience: Visited my former spouse in the emergency room. The waiting room was full of people. They had chairs out in the driveway in a chilly night (no tents, heaters or anything). Basically this place looked worse than a county hospital. If you need care go somewhere else.

Negative experience: My mother is in there as we speak. She was admitted there since yesterday afternoon said she needed surgery that she couldnt go home because that's how bad she needs the surgery. As of today already in the evening hasn't got surgery because the doctor isn't in. My mother hasn't ate since yesterday morning because what the nurses thought she was going to have surgery this morning. And now told until later in the evening.

Fantastic experience: This is the most phenomenal ER in SOCAL. The staff is caring, loving, and on point. They actually have a process that is streamlined when you walk in the ER where you check in, and they call you to windows and start treating you immediately. Then they take you back to rooms marked by numbers for a triage. Then they take you back to start an IV and tests. They make you feel like you walk into family dinner they are so wonderful to patients. They have security all around the lobby, and you can also wait outside for the ER queue, and they will call your name. They provide medicine as soon as they can and take wonderful compassionate care of you. Even the people sitting in the waiting room talk to one another and are helpful. After the nightmare treatment in a supposed #1 inCA Er that was the exact opposite, this place should be ranked #1 in ER in SOCAL. There is plenty of free parking and an easy walk up to the ER. I'm so happy to have come here. You should too if you need help Ina timely and compassionate manner. What's really remarkable about this hospital is how patients help each other out. Just wow.

Negative experience: It is now 6:00 p.m. been waiting with my nephew since 11:00 a.m. he's in severe pain uncontrolled vomiting stomach cramping and they still haven't seen him worst hospital ever they don't seem to be going by severity of case. Hopefully nothing happens to my nephew or they will have lawsuit on their hands

Negative experience: Never go to this hospital. Even when a patient dies, the doctors haven't arrived yet. They leave the patients in the ward, and no matter how much you call for help, no one comes. If someone dies in the room, it might not even be discovered for a long time. It's terrible. Truly, it's just awful.

Negative experience: Came here in ambulance after motorcycle accident. Got three infections, lost a huge amount of tissue due to infection. Was neglected by the staff being left naked with no privacy, bed disabled so I couldn't call a nurse. Personal phone taken away, left in pee constantly, staff used broken bone as a handle to roll me over as I begged to be let go he replied "stop faking it". My shoulder blade was broken in half from being run over. Not to mention the 11 broken ribs and more injuries. The chest tube that was put in the ER gave me a super bug, when the trauma team was called down to see what was leaking out of me, they took me to surgery. From the surgery I got two more infections. I begged for anyone to get me out of this hospital I was treated like a prisoner. My other half was kicked out of the hospital whenever the charge nurse decided she didn't want her there. My other half changed my bedding more then the nursing staff ever did. If you have a loved one at this hospital get them out. I could go on about my month long stay. Bottom line the staff is neglectful at best, as well as rude. Care never crossed my mind while I was here. I was going to die was not how it felt. It's what believed was going to happen.

Negative experience: IF you care about your loved one do NOT send them here. This sad excuse for a hospital has NO doctors available at any given time. If you end up in their ER after 8 pm good luck getting any type of treatment because the lazy nurses will just tell you "the doctor went home already." In addition to this, they discharged the patient when they weren't ready to go home causing them to return the following day due to a worsened condition. The hospital ran up the bill by running every single intricate test imaginable. Upon many subsequent visits with specialists who didn't get their MDs from target the issue turned out to be SALMONELLA. Yes, this hospital was NOT able to detect and treat salmonella.

Negative experience: Checked into the E.R. on September 11, 2024 at 8:30pm, for sever me back pain for the past 2 days. The front staff and the doctors on shift were very inconsiderate, talking loud about non-medical issues that were inappropriate, and cussing which is of course very unprofessional. The doctor who evaluated didn’t really listen to my concern and pain level, and come to find out he literally just came out of medical school and he was brand new. Which explained his lack of on the field experience and the way he treated the other patients during his triage evaluation. He insisted on putting me in wheel chair when I specifically told him that position was unbearable and painful and his response simply “no other choice, I have to go wait in the lobby now” Overall bad experience and poor treatment on my behalf

Fantastic experience: Broke my tibia and fibula again, ended up here off the ambulance. I got welcomed with wonder staff and nurses. So super helpful at any question I would ask, they answered back with confidence and concern. I am a claustrophobic person so while going to do scans with the techs ,I was being attended and helped.. thank you I apologize for the tears. Other than Agnes and Maricela , I had 4 more other nurses helping me thru the recovery and were awesome! Thank you so super much! You guys are a 10/10 ✨✨✨ I appreciate the service and support that you gave me.

Negative experience: The ER DR and NURSES are amazing but The admission DR is very rude. Acts like he knows everything and won’t even try to listen to you. At I live across the street and I’ve been so sick lately but I’ll rather drive an hour than to go there.

Negative experience: I delivered there two weeks ago I was treated very poorly just because I had Covid while pregnant. I couldn’t go home because my high blood pressure. Staff put my food on the trash can cause they didn’t wanna come in the room , a nurse said she’s risking her life just by coming in the room and also the birth certificate staff didn’t come in the room to let me and my partner sign the paperwork so they took my husband off the birth certificate claiming that they called him but never did. He was at the hospital the whole time with me it’s so messed up how they took my baby father off his birth certificate without letting me know anything..

Negative experience: May of 2024...My adult son had a bike accident. The ER doctor wanted to put screws in his vertebrae to repair a compression fracture on T6. Thank goodness he left the ER, only to find out that he didn't need the screws. His primary care facility doctor gave him a back brace and rest...He is doing fine.

Negative experience: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES COME HERE!!! The care is so sub standard I wouldn't even give them one star but had to to be able to right this. We arrived at 6:30 am on a tuesday and waited for seven hours befor anyone even looked at my mother. They triage and leave you sitting for hours with no explanation. Obviously if your aren't shot or brought in by ambulance you're of no concern! The waiting roomed turned ovrr Two times and still we sat!! No concern for the elderly at all! I'll drive 20 miles for better care next time, they're only concern is billing insurance for tests before you're even examined!

Negative experience: My bro and sis in law were in a really bad accident. Drunk driver hit them head on , having to use the jaws of life to get both of them out of their suburban. He has internal damage and needs an oxygen tank and a body cast. She broke her leg , her ankle and injuries to her back. She currently has blurred vision and her face is all swollen. All I asked was my 2 girls(3and 10) go visit their aunt and uncle. They said no its 13 up. This hospital is absolutely careless! Dont go to Pomona Valley Hospital, should be last on your list.

Negative experience: My Dad was admitted with pneumonia. A nurse on his case said he would an inpatient for a few more days after his first day. He was released the next day. He had been doing well after IV antibiotics. He was sent home with pills. Two days later he was in bad shape and was admitted to a different hospital. My Dads case was very badly handled causing both him and my family great distress.

Negative experience: Fiancé just had a baby here. Epidural was requested FOR HOURS ever since we arrived. She was repeatedly denied the epidural until the last moment. Then, the anesthesiologist was busy with another person. My fiancé gave birth without the epidural, which was her biggest fear about the childbirth was the pain. This was either due to negligence or due to the hospital's stance against using this drug through the pain of childbirth. I suspect this may be why she was denied even though she was screaming in pain. Her growing anxiety was so easily dismissed by this facility's staff. I wish I knew what we were getting into when we got transferred to this facility.

Negative experience: Literally thee slowest hospital ER staff in the world! Stood in line for the longest, I was never spoken to.. Staff wasn’t busy.. Just sitting there at that little mobile desk.. The lady looked at me like I wasn’t supposed to be there.. Smh! I don’t understand… Why take a job where you know you have to interact with the public if you have no sense of professional etiquette… Do better PVH! Or would you rather people expire in the lobby?

J 1 year ago

Negative experience: This place needs serious help. First, none of their phone numbers match up and you get to play phone tag with everyone before getting to where you need to go. Please teach people to route calls to the correct number. Also, I cannot express this enough. As a veteran with PTSD, I do not want to be recorded on my phone conversations period. Why can’t this organization understand that? California law allows me not to be recorded and here your organization is forcing people to be recorded. This needs to be fixed. Now as far as care goes. I don’t think it’s appropriate to have my care needs talked about at the nurse’s station for other patients to hear. If I can hear it from my ER bed then I know others can too. I guess this is an organization that does not respect privacy. Stay away.

Negative experience: I went to this hospital ER because a walk-in clinic doctor was concerned that I had a stroke. Never went anywhere other than the waiting room. Exchanged a few words with Dr. Moore. Whom was dismissive of my numbness of my ear symptoms. Got a bill $1000. He wrote all kinds of notes which he never shared with me just to justify a bill that he should have never submitted.

Nicole Estrada 1 year ago

Negative experience: This hospital is honestly the bottom of the barrel, The only thing that has somewhat improved there is the parking structure. Absolutely everyone there is rude, I have only met maybe 2 nice people. My father was brought in to the ER by ambulance which started off ruff from our house because it took them almost 30 minutes to figure out how to carry him out or if they even wanted to. When he got to the ER, they could care less about him. Nothing was done right or with care, because he had a history with alcohol they labeled him a withdrawing alcoholic and ignored him most of the time. Something was really really wrong and I could feel it because my dad never needed a hospital unless it was bad. He didn’t get a room until the next day, where things seemed even more suspicious. He had a private nurse and they wouldn’t tell us why. The doctor finally came in a few hours before visiting ended to tell us that my dad just had an infection and that his kidneys were working hard to process all of the toxins but he was 100 percent confident we would be able to take him home in a few days. Yeah right! We got home exhausting from waiting at a hospital that only told us what we wanted to hear. At 11pm we got a phone call that my dad had a heart attack and they needed permission to give him a procedure. We sad yes they said ok and hung up. We tried calling back but no one would talk to us. We got in the car and drove to the hospital and found my dad in the ICU, he was gone but they told us no he’s alive but barely hanging on. He literally was ice cold and all the life was gone from his eyes which I closed myself because they wouldn’t. They tried to keep this show up wasting blood, giving him bags of blood that was just pouring out of mouth and nose. We were there until almost 7pm because they didn’t want to call it because they knew they messed up. The doctor who promised we would take him home in a few days all of a sudden changed his whole attitude and couldn’t answer any of our questions. We got the autopsy that stated he had a heart attack but because he was bleeding internally really bad but nobody checked that because according to them he was just an alcoholic. So because of their mistakes and biases my dad passed away scared and alone and hours before we got there which I found out when they gave me a copy of his last heartbeat. The system is so messed up, I will never get justice for my dad. Now I’m just haunted by what I could have done differently and I wish I was there holding his hand when he passed away. There have been so many unnecessary deaths in this hospital, I would check all my options before coming to Pomona Valley. They were awesome when my daughter was born there but that was almost 19 years ago, now it’s all about the connections you have or the color of your skin or the day of the week. I watch 3 family members of staff from the hospital only wait no more that 15 minutes because they were but at the top of the line and most of them had low level emergencies. Pomona Valley has to do better!

Negative experience: quite possibly the hands down worst service I've received from a hospital from them not having my CT CD ready until 3 days to the front desk worker attempting to blame the incompetence of their staff misleading me onto me. Wouldn't ever go to this hospital if I was concerned about my health in anyway.

Negative experience: Before I begin I had to put a star just to leave a review . I can honestly see why Pomona Valley only has a 2.8 star rating . WORST HOSPITAL , DEGRADING AND BYASS AND STEREOTYPING STAFF AND DOCTORS .. DR Andres Gonzales is not on a hypocrite but a COWARD. The doctor in ICU talked to you as if you were wasting his time .Not one person could honestly tell us what was going on with my son and his long term effects .The nurses Carl , Jamie , Katelynn and the charge nurse Paul lacks empathy. Worst nurse ever . Charge Nurse Paul also a big coward , When I addressed him ( at 6:42pm) with my concerns on how my son was being treated and how we felt he was not ready to go home due to his altered mental status and still having hallucinations come down from withdrawal ( which my son checked himself in to get the help he deserved) Paul lied and said he would assess my son and have the bedside nurse call me . Paul did not call me back cause it was time to go home and he washed his hands of any concerns we had .. These nurses told my son when he was asking to use the bathroom to poop in his bed and they would clean it later ..WHO DOES THAT ? Katlynn didn't know how to handle my son and his withdrawals and was going to discharge him and just let him leave the hospital ( this was not even 24 hours after admission. )I put in many calls to ask to speak to Dr Gonzalez and NOT once did he ever call me back . I can go on and on with how horrible and byass this place is and the worst part of it all , when my son was discharged and not picked up quick enough they stuck him is the discharge room and called him a cab .And with the nurses running their mouth to my son I can only imagine what they said for my son to not want to talk to me anymore . I was trying to protect him from such horrible care. I am truly disgusted on how these nurses' handled things . Disappointed how this hospital failed my son !

Negative experience: THE ABSOLUTE WORST HOSPITAL. THIS PLACE RUSHES PEOPLE OUT REGARDLESS IF THEY’RE BETTER OR NOT. THE NURSES DO NOT ADVOCATE FOR THEIR PATIENTS. DOCTOR GONZALEZ AND CHARGE NURSE PAUL. TAKE YOURSELF OR YOUR FAMILY SOMEWHERE BETTER. You deserve better than this place!!!

Negative experience: I will never come to this hospital again, and if I could give them no stars, I'd would. I broke my ankle and waited over 4 hours to receive pain meds because I didn't have a room. When I was finally given a room and pain meds, I was told my ankle would need surgery the next morning. Morning came no surgery, now I will have surgery late afternoon late afternoon came no surgery now surgery will be the following day. I'm also a kidney transplant recipient so I need to take my anti-rejection meds along with a bunch of other meds 3 times a day, at a set time of 9am, 3pm and 9pm. These people fought with me about taking my anti-rejection meds they tried to keep me from taking them. I will not lose my transplant kidney because of these incompetent people my kidney transplant team was even in contact with them and they still didnt listen. They do not communicate with each other and they don't listen to the patients!!! Very disappointed in the care I received I had a few staff that were great but the rest just terrible.

Fantastic experience: I was transferred to this hospital from Chino Valley Hospital due to a nasty post surgery complications, which most surgeons were hesitant to take me in since they did not do the initial surgery themselves. I was very well taken care of during my 5-day stay. I was in constant excruciating pain due to the complication, and the nurses all tried their best to help me navigate through the situation and get more comfortable in their own ways. The nurse responding time may differ depending on time (it definitely slows down during shift change) but usually they were very quick. Overall, I can feel the nursing staffs are very passionate about their job and care for the sick throughout the time I was there. The hospital also kept the room and environment clean. All these factors made my worst situation turned into a nice memory and an overall 5 star experience.

Fantastic experience: "I'm giving Pomona Valley Medical Center Hospital a well-deserved 5 stars! I'm so impressed with the amazing work the patients are doing, and I'm also thrilled to see high school and college students volunteering and gaining valuable experience in the medical field. The hospital itself is top-notch, with a modern food court, comfortable rooms, and a thoughtful gift shop. Plus, I loved learning about the hospital's history - it's clear that this place has a rich legacy of care and compassion. From the staff to the facilities, everything about Pomona Valley Medical Center Hospital exceeded my expectations. Keep up the fantastic work, team!"

Negative experience: NOT KID FRIENDLY. We're from out of state, so I'm not sure if this is normal for California after their crazy quarantine, but my kids weren't allowed to visit their grandma here because they're "too young." So, if you care about receiving visitors, then go to a different hospital. That said, the facilities are fine.

Fantastic experience: This 5 star review is for Brandon and Jose Cardenas. Brandon's badge didn't have a last name but it says Patient Care Support Technician Surgery on it. My grandfather had a surgery this morning that we were told would take 2 hours. It was approaching the 5th hour and my Grandma was stressing out, especially with all of the intercom code warnings and no answers. We walked to the surgery area and Brandon could tell we worried. He offered to check and see if he could find anything out. A few minutes later he let us know my Gpa was OK and would be back to his room soon. Back in his room, Jose was waiting to clean my Gpa's trach tubing, but got to hear one of the neuro Dr's condescending down to us while pushing for a stent. Honestly, she is the only employee we encountered during his week stay with a horrible bedside manner. Anyhow, she upset my Grandmother, but Jose was a blessing to be with after she left. He treated my Grandfather with the utmost compassion and care. I'm writing this review in hope that whoever is in charge of the hospital is made aware of how wonderful these 2 men are.

Negative experience: complete lack of communication. i was in the emergency room yesterday from 2pm-9pm just to get a CT scan for abdominal pain. i was waiting in a room with some other patients also waiting for CT scan and some of them were asking for water and just told “no” with no explanation. because i did research beforehand, i knew you can’t have food or water for a few hours before a CT scan, but was too dissociated to speak, but the nurses should have explained why! it just made it seem like they were cruelly being denied food and water for no reason! there was one woman who didn’t speak english begging for water and being denied and no one could explain to her why. absolutely horrific. but even the people who could speak english, it was not being explained to them. they ended up sneakily getting water through other means, because they thought the nurses were just being mean and denying them water because nobody ever explained anything!!! so i’m assuming they had to wait even longer for their scans because they weren’t communicated with at all! i was prescribed a medication and not given ANY communication about possible side effects or drug interactions. after doing my own research, i find out that a lot of patients experience extreme anxiety and paranoia on this medication. i already experience anxiety and paranoia unmediated, which i told the woman who prescribed this to me, and she still didn’t think to warn me of this, or of any of the other possible side effects, or the fact that i was prescribed an antacid the day before (which she knew) and this medication says “do not take with antacid” so i cannot take the medication i was prescribed. i did not feel listened to, and i could tell the other patients i was waiting with felt neglected as well. all i got was wasted time and tremendous back pain from having to sit in crappy chairs for 7 hours straight.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough kind words about the care we received at PVHMC. We took a family member to the emergency room and were then admitted to observation, and all of the staff that dealt with us were kind, patient, and went above and beyond— offering chairs, finding lost items, and explaining everything gently to patients even when they were angry or disruptive. Even via phone, I had great interactions with the benefits social worker and the gift shop staff. Thank you to everyone who helped us at a challenging time— it was so appreciated.

Negative experience: I’m writing this on behalf of my son who has been in the hospital for now three days. I’ve read some of the reviews, and I agree with some of them. I do thank God that the doctors who took care of him when he first came in they did a good job. The only bad thing is that they’re not readily available to speak with you, which I find it very odd. They let the nurses talk to you, but unfortunately, the nurses are not doctors and they can only give you so much information. As big as it is, he would think that they would have a doctor or a PR that can sit with the family to explain the conditions of the injuries that your family member has, and what the approaches during their stay in the hospital. It’s very disturbing to know that they can’t take the time to talk to their loved ones. Hear you’re going through the anguish and just the stress of having your loved one in the hospital, especially when they came in as a trauma patient and see no comfort from the staff from this hospital. The first night that my son was there the nurse that watched over him was very rude. I simply ask questions, and she sent me down, I wish that I had taken her name. She deserves to be reprimanded if if she’s ever had a loved one in the hospital and someone treated her that way. I don’t think she would appreciate it. All I was asking was for information more on my sons condition, and when I was going to be able to speak to a doctor. I agreed that this hospital is understaffed. I had to take my son to the third floor on the sixth floor. There was no more rooms. The service of the nurses is incredible that they don’t have more time to try and take care of the patients a little better than they been doing since my son been there. They don’t have people coming in the morning cleaning the rooms the rooms are messy they don’t even have the staff to come and change the linens in the bed or clean up the patient specially, like my son who came in as a trauma patient he was full of blood he had not been cleaned up for two days. A lot of credit to Carlos, the CNA, who is more attentive, and he took the time to wash up my son, and remove all the blood that he has around his body, head and arms. I just sat in that they’re not paying attention to caring for patients better than what they are and I understand it’s overwhelming and difficult when you have a lot of patience but this is why the hospital should have better staffing. I’m in the business of customer service and providing the service to clients so I know what it takes to do that but apparently this hospital doesn’t. I can go on and on, but I rest my case and I hope that they change some of their policies and increase their staffing and keep the floors cleaner unless they are or at least what I’m experiencing during the day of my son here. Like I said, in the beginning, I am, I feel blessed that the doctors have taken care of my son at the rest of the care in the hospital is horrible and the service. I came in early because my son was scheduled to have surgery and they wouldn’t let me up because he wasn’t scheduled yet. I can’t believe they wouldn’t let me spend some time with my son before he went to surgery. This is really mind-boggling. What was I gonna do? I wasn’t gonna hurt anyone I was just gonna sit with my son and pray and wish him well in his surgery and they didn’t even acknowledged or felt like I can be there with him. That’s insane! The hospital should have better protocols, and I understand that they have regulations and visiting hours but this was not just a Visitation before his surgery. This is awful disappointing.

Negative experience: My mother came in with serious back pains. And she waited there all day in a wheelchair, not one person came to show her any of the results for her test. A doctor told her that they needed her wheelchair. And told her that she needed to leave. She was struggling to get out of the chair and the doctor was rushing her. Found out she has a hernia and they just kicked her out.

Negative experience: Go get your emergency care here if you want to be neglected by medical personnel and die excruciatingly. My grandma who had stage 4 cancer had collapsed and was brought in by ambulance. The hospital just left her on a bed by herself in the hallway of the ED, which was jam packed with other neglected patients. No one bothered to even do intake until my mom threatened to just take her somewhere else for care (and even that was met with rude haughty remarks of ‘youre not allowed to do that’s). My grandma was in excruciating pain the whole time as the ED staff dragged their feet, getting nothing done. She was then eventually intubated and then died at this hospital. Also, word of advice for anyone having to go to the ED, if possible make a record of everything: what meds were given and when and for what, names of staff and when they came in and out, and the times where youre just waiting. Actively question the staff about these and make sure they see you writing things down. Not a guarantee but it can make staff nervous and pay more attention, and is a helpful log in case you want to call out specific failures in care and those responsible.

Negative experience: Please avoid PVHMC ultrasound and ER one of to worst in this Pomona-chino area. This hospital provides a complete lack of awareness and professionalism. I was 8 weeks pregnant and ultrasound radiologist or tec did mistake in my us and I have to repeat ultrasound to check my pregnancy viability. This delayed my treatment and mean time I had miscarriage and had to go through lot of pain due to abdominal cramping so, I went to ER which is most worst and disorganized ER. I was in lot of pain and was bleeding and I had to wait for 6-7 hr without any care and at end they just discuss lab results and few tips which is of no use. Please try to avoid this hospital if you can or keep as your last option

Negative experience: This is the most disorganized ER I have ever seen. I’m a physician practicing for 25 years. For one of my son’s basketball team kids who needed a few stitches—turned into 5 hours of waiting and being simply ignored. We could have literally traveled home and received care in a more timely fashion. Avoid this place like the plague.

Negative experience: I am writing this review on my grandmothers behalf. She has been admitted to this hospital in a total of 3 times this year. As she has very critical health conditions. In all 3 times that she has been admitted to the hospital, she has had terrible experiences with the nurses. All of them rude and completely ignoring her. Ranging from ripping the iv needle out of her arm and leaving her to bleed so bad that I personally had to apply pressure and wrap it. To her translator leaving her for 8 hours without care. The most recent issue being her pushing the emergency button constantly and being ignored. It was so bad she had to remove the wires her self and finding help on foot. This hospital provides a complete lack of awareness and professionalism in which is found in all other hospitals. (If I could give negatives I most definitely would)

Fantastic experience: The experience we had in this hospital was extraordinary good. My brother was treated quickly and the care he received was the best! All the stuff who cared for him were always friendly and every single time he was treated with great respect. We are truly very grateful to all the stuff who were involved in his care. Thank you so much.

Negative experience: I took a family member there, and not the first time a nurse assistant or medical assistant is super rude. At the end of consultation with the patient is still seating on the patient table and the medical assistant started taking the paper that covers where she was seating still, Like she were invisible. Is this a joke or this people has not common sense! She is still there, can this doctor helpers wait a second more? the medical assistant starts cleaning up on top of patient!! ??

Negative experience: My brother was not taken care of and was consistently ignored by hospital staff. He was beaten and was not treated for ANY injuries! He left because he was not being attended. The staff lied and said he was discharged. Worse patient care, they had no sympathy for an unconscious man to was clearly injured, scared, and vulnerable.

The doctor who helped me is an angel. I wished I knew his name ... I was too amped up on meds and stress , I want him to know I'm thankful for his work incredible doctor a true God in my eyes . I forgot his name ,but he worked in the ER at the trauma center AND HE MAY BEEN FROM AFRICA OR NIGERIA . Thank you for all you done and everything you do . ❤️‍

Negative experience: If I could I would give this a Negative 10 I went to the urgent care because I had not been able to eat or drink anything at all for over 28 hours. I went in there and I told them that I am a diabetic. My Blood sugar was 300 my Blood Pressure was almost 200 and that even sipping water made me very nauseous And It made my stomach hurt very badly. They didn't care I had gotten there at 5am and they made me wait for over 8 hours before a nurse saw me. And when they did see me they tried to hook me up to an IV and they had trouble because I was so badly dehydrated and I told them I said I was when I came In and they said we don't take people words for it. And When I was talking to the nurse and she took my sugar it was 190 and it was only going down because I had taken my metformen for my sugar because it was so high and i took my Blood Pressure pill to make them go down because they weren't seeing me and I didn't like how high they were. They were doing nothing and when the nurse checked my sugar it was 190 and I said and im diabetic and i hadn't eaten or drank anything for over 33 hours by then. And that that's not good for me and she said well for normal people it's fine so you're fine and I said I'm not normal I am a diabetic. And they were rude to me and as well as mean to me and I could hear one of the nurses even yelling that I know I know she wants to be seen she's been saying that since she came in so I said that I heard her when she came back and she said that it wasn't her and that I'm only there for liquid and that's it I said no its not and by then I had enough I saw the doctor and told her what was going on with what I heard and what they were telling me. She said she wanted to do another test because of my sugar being so high without eating or drinking. I said no I'm leaving I don't want to be there anymore not with how they were treating me and when I was leaving and they gave me my paperwork people get when they leave it said I had HYPERGLYCEMIA and that in the paper it said that it was LIFE-THREATENING and they all were Ignoring me like I was overreacting and made me wait over 8 hours to be seen. And this was my first time there and what I had was LIFE-THREATENING and what's sad is I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN EVEN IF I WAS DYING from a wound or anything else that I might be dying from. And I'm not someone who really reviews places but I had to about this ER that I went to at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever. After going through the admission process, I was seen briefly by a nurse and was told that I'd be getting a CT scan. It took them around 2 hours to get to me. The CT technician was very rude with me. Her name was Nancy D and she had this aide with her that was way more friendly. Her body language throughout my time in the room told me that she was in a rush and didn't care if I was in pain. What was even more disgusting is that I caught her flashing her thong at her Aide. She has the physique of someone who clearly exercises, yet she has no respect for whoever is around her. The only way that I found out her last name initial was because her Aide told me.

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center

Thank you for letting us know you had a bad experience with your CT scan. We sincerely apologize. Please call our patient relations department at 909-865-9598 and we would like to discuss this issue with you. Otherwise, we would appreciate it if you would edit any names out of this review, since that information should not be shared publicly."

Negative experience: My husband had major surgery here. His Dr. is WONDERFUL. The staff here are great, but could check in more regularly. The room he is in is really awful. It's very old. The air conditioning is coming out of really old wall units and they feel like those dirty ones in old hotels. THE FOOD IS TRULY NOT EDIBLE. I'm really shocked that this is what they serve their patients. I was in the hospital for 3 days a couple of months ago in Arizona. It was Scottsdale Osborne. I had the room to myself which was very nice. Nurses came in very often. THE FOOD was not just good but outstanding! You ordered from a menu then called it in and it was delivered in a timely manner. It was restaurant quality food! In fact we've heard people go their just to eat! PVH truly needs to put a bit more love into their food, rooms and cafeteria. That was awful too. Not much choice and with a Subway. Plus all of the staff seemed to just talk with each other loudly and in Spanish while just ignoring people that were there to eat. It was disconcerting that my husband who was there because of cancer, was given very SUGARY CHEAP jello, ices and puddings with chicken broth that was gross. I think that's the word for all of their food. CHEAP and GROSS. That's exactly what BRINGS people into hospitals. Do better PVH.`

Fantastic experience: My mom has been diagnosed with a terminal cancer. This has broken my soul. All the staff at the Pomona valley Hospital has been incredible and has done a wonderful job to take care of my mom. She's sadly going to leave us, but I am happy of the care they are giving her here. I am specially thankful for Sandra Perdomo, she was incredible, she was caring, kind, professional and over all her spirit lift it us up when we were down the most. She is an incredible human and I want everyone to know that Pomona Valley is lucky to have her in their team. Thank you!!!

Positive experience: Overall my experience delivering my baby at Pomona Valley was amazing but I just wanted to point out that the nurses can be a little flirtatious. Specifically, Roxanne (Roxy) Arias. One she was promoting her “body works”business lol but also she flirted with my husband in my face and proceeded to try and give him her number but I shut that down real quick. He felt very uncomfortable. I can’t blame him. It’s very unprofessional to flirt with someone’s husband especially at a vulnerable time in their life such as child birth. It’s sucks more knowing she’s a mom herself to be able to treat someone that way.

Negative experience: I don’t even know where to begin with this review. I’ve reached out to their patient relations rep. With no response to the ugly mistreatment of my uncle and I by nurses, doctors AND social workers. Not all staff is bad here but unfortunately we got some of the worst. Once I called the medical board of CA they started mistreating him and my family even worse than they already had. There are very few good souls in there, that I can vouch for… but the rest that I’ve come across have been heartless human beings. My uncle is still in there… and he’s crying every time we leave.. at worse they are trying to force us into procedures and transfers we are not comfortable with. They’d rather we let him die than to help him (and believe me, they’ve brought it up every chance they’ve gotten). We are trying to get him out but they aren’t even attempting to help us with that, having us call medi-cal, transportation, etc by ourselves. I hope to never set foot in this hospital again. It cost me 2 loved ones and possibly a third at the rate this is going. Please go to another hospital. Update: My uncle passed away 10/5. We noticed so many other suspicious things after my previous review. I never heard back from patient relations and staffs miscommunication was even worse during this process.

Negative experience: Pomona Valley came to the local shelter, Hope for Homes. They were giving away free packs of things like toothpaste, pads, wipes, etc. However, when they were giving us free blood sugar tests, we noticed they did not have a biohazard sharps container to throw the needles away in. This is improper handling of biohazard waste and could cause people to get sick and hurt, especially staff who handle the trash. People in this shelter could have STD's and other diseases, and nobody here deserves to have their life ruined by contracting a disease. Your medical staff should know better, through the schooling they had to pass to get their jobs. This makes me worry how things are conducted in the hospital. Safety and hygiene is a must. Sincerely, someone who has medical training.

Martha had the best bedside manner and really took care of me and made sure I was okay through the difficult process. Kat was amazing as well during postpartum. 5/5 I am completely shocked at the low rating. Everyone was fantastic, thank you so much! I was discharged yesterday and also wanted to give a shout out to my last two nurses, Hazel and Marlaine. Just total sweethearts, the both of them. I hope all these amazing nurses read my review!

My delivery nurse was Neisy She was amazing. Listened to me & helped me with everything. Didn’t get any negative comments, weird looks, passive aggressive attitude, nothing negative what so ever! My last labor & delivery was at Queen of the valley hospital in 2020. I would never want to go there again. Pomona gave the best care I’ve ever received. If there is a rate less one star I would give to them

Negative experience: Actually the worst hospital I have ever been to. Usually don’t post reviews but I’m specifically going out of my way to do this one. Feb 2022- was ambulanced into PV and after they determined I was not immediately going to die I was sent to the waiting room, in pain and scared and was there for EIGHT hours. After seeing my primary care provider, the diagnosis the PV doctor gave me turned out to be WRONG and HARMFUL. Dec 2022- friend cut their leg open and same situation- even though they were actively bleeding the entire time we were in the waiting room for SIX hours before getting treatment.

Negative experience: Worst place to go to. I went in at 3:45 pm they did some test they had me waiting in the waiting area I guess it’s a new thing along with other people in pain. It was. 7 pm I went to the window to ask when I was going to see the doctor all they said was “ your test results are ready we’re just waiting for a bed” then at 10:45 pm I went back to ask and got the same answer. I just gave up and went home still in pain and sick to my stomach just seeing how many other people left because of this.

Fantastic experience: This review is long over due. I came in and was immediately admitted to this hospital through my Dr.s orders. My Dr was uncertain why I had the symptoms I had with Cyanosis and Hypoxia occuring. The ER team here was amazing at trying to keep my comfortable despite all the blood testing that was being done before I was admitted to a bed. Eventually I received a room and bed. Although I was uncomfortable physically for almost seven days, I just wanted to say thank you to the staff on the women's unit. Lori the Director of Nurses, Arnold RN, Jose the respiratory therapist, you kept me sane and motivated to continue on my own path nursing when I was about to give up. Loris team really motivated me and I am now locking in the last of undergraduates and finishing them up and I hope one day I can be privileged to work along side them. Thank you.

Negative experience: My first time visiting this place will certainly be the last. There are two things from my visit that really made a bad impression. The first thing was with the wheelchairs. I needed a wheelchair for a family member, but the security guard told me that if you don’t see any in the front entrance then there isn’t any. What kind of hospital lacks in wheelchairs!? This goes to show the hospital’s lack of equipment to provide aid to those with physical disabilities or limitations. The second thing was the security guard himself, A.PEREZ is the name of the guard and he was extremely rude to me and my family. I also heard his interactions with others while waiting and he is just unfit to be in that position. Once we signed in he only provided us one visitors pass and told everyone that we had to share it amongst ourselves which I found very unusual. Later on I talked to a different guard, and he told me that shouldn’t have been the case. He told me that EVERYONE that was visiting should have received a visitors pass. So if you are going to visit this hospital I would recommend to plan ahead to securing a wheelchair if you need one, and I would advise to not talk to A.PEREZ because he is an incompetent individual who lacks people skills. Very unprofessional.

Negative experience: Just had surgery recently. The actual surgery was fine and my doctor was good. My main complaint was the after care. I had to wear a foley for the surgery which was understandable and it was removed about 24 hours later. I was not able to urinate regularly afterwards and the nurse assured me that it would return eventually. But the feeling I was experiencing was very similar to what I had back in December when I had a UTI with urgency to urinate, but only being able to urinate very little. They promptly took a urine sample and it came back clear so they said it was probably due to the surgery and anesthesia and assured me that it would probably clear in a day or two. They proceeded to catherize me three more times in the hospital to clear out excess urine and to make sure that I wasn't backing up. It was extremely uncomfortable. I kept asking if I could have antbx just in case. But they wouldn't even entertain that idea because of the negative test. They sent me on my way and said if I continued to have an issue, go to the ER. Well two days later, I ended up in the ER and they ran a test and confirmed that I did in fact have a UTI. I later asked the ER doc on staff if a test came back negative, could I in fact have a UTI? And she said yes, it could just be in the early stages and not show up yet on a test. This was very frustrating because I could have saved two days of agony and pain. After just one night of antbx, my urine flow is starting to return to a better state. Lesson is to always please listen to the patient. I'm not dismissing a doctor and their knowledge. But at the end of the day, we know our bodies better than a doctor. Btw, I have a long history of UTI's so my body has a tendency to develop it especially under stress. UPDATE: Also trying to schedule an MRI is like jumping through multiple hoops. I had hip replacement in mid 2022. I had an MRI late last year and needed approval first because of my artificial hip. That's understandable since it was the first time I was getting one with an artificial hip. I need another MRI now and they are telling me that they cannot schedule it without prior approval. I was confused because I would assume the information was in my files and they could just look back. But they said, no it needs prior approval every time from the radiology department because the scheduling department doesn't have access to that "confidential" information is how they put it. If Pomona Valley was not in my area, I would switch hospitals and medical groups in a heartbeat. I have not encountered a hospital with more red tape than this one. When I was referred to City of Hope earlier this year, going through referrals for each procedure was a breeze. They took care of everything with the approval process. And they calle me back within a couple days to schedule it with me. Seriously do better Pomona Valley! I would not recommend this hospital to anyone unless you don't have a choice.

Fantastic experience: To the ICU, thank you. To the ER, thank you. You helped my dear Mother transition peacefully and with dignity. I'll love you forever for how well you treated both my Mother and myself during this very difficult time. C396 was her room and final place before transitioning. I hope you read this.

Fantastic experience: My cousin gave birth at this hospital, from the moment we walked into the hospital to give labor to the moment she and her baby walked out. We were treated nice and with respect. Pediatrician from NICU Saul was extremely helpful attentive and caring with the babies high respiratory levels while in NICU. Although he was training he gave my cousin and her baby the utmost care, respect and the most information possible to maintain calm and relaxed throughout the circumstances. We were fortunate to have Saul monitoring baby “Nachito”, and baby made a complete and fast recovery. Thanks to Saul and he’s TLC baby was out of NICU within 4 days departed the hospital together with mommy.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Johnson B. Lightfoote was seriously one of the best doctors I’ve ever encountered in my life! He went above and beyond his duties as a doctor!!! The staff was awesome and the nurses were amazing! Truly my favorite hospitals to go to. I will from now on be making the extra 20 minute drive to get there from now on. Best hospital experience ever!

Negative experience: Jeniffer is the worst nurse ever. She is the nurse works at sweet success department who needs to help pregnant women with diabetes. However, she has bad attitude and no patience. I used to love the Pomona valley hospital but she refresh my knowledge today.

Negative experience: In 2020, I received bills from Pomona Valley Hospital for incorrect charges that had been resolved. I spent four months working with the supervisor of billing in 2020 and my insurance company’s supervisor trying to correct the charges. Finally, after so many calls back and forth it was corrected. Now three years later I receive the same bill, which is in total of $60. Again, I have called every day to numerous individuals at different departments hoping to correct this, once again leaving voicemails. I have not received one returned phone call, and every time I call lead individuals for billing, finance, customer service areas, not one has ever answered nor returned a call. The PVHMC for billing, supervisors, directors and anyone that may be able to rectify the issue has provided poor patient services. I do not recommend this facility for any kind of service.
