Fantastic experience: Patient-T Pringle I had PT for 12 weeks with Mike and Lincoln. After the 12 weeks I felt 100% better. I couldn’t do much without feeling pain when I started. At the end I felt what they did and the tools they provided to me to do at home helped me to feel the best I’ve felt in a long time. They both knew exactly what I needed. Fantastic experience: This place has helped me recover from two arthroscopic surgeries on my knees and a frozen shoulder. All of the typical PT services are very good - friendly and helpful reception, nice gym, available and knowledgeable PT Assistants, and a number of highly qualified physical therapists. The thing that sets this place apart from other PTs is their dedication to and training in multiple forms of therapeutic massage. Every visit begins with a healing massage therapy. The best! Special shout outs to Lori and Emily for their great work!! Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Bay State Physical Therapy in East Providence (formerly known as Healey PT) was highly recommended to me by several friends, and I am very grateful. Over the past several weeks I have worked with therapists Lori, Mike and Nelia who bring their individual insights and skills to each patient. They listen and help me describe where my body is on that particular day and my appointment always includes a hands on adjustment or deep massage. An individualized exercise program is designed and then supervised in the spacious work out area. Every time I walk through the door of this PT place has been an overwhelmingly positive experience from the receptionists to the therapists to Paige and Julia, the exercise helpers! It’s a happy place and I am thrilled to have found it.

After seeing two other physical therapy practices that were unable to address my daughter’s needs, we finally found Bay State, and the results have been amazing. Fantastic experience: I have h-EDS, and physical therapy with Mike Healy over the past few years has been a game-changer for my physical health and pain levels! I am able to walk greater distances with less pain and overall have greater function for daily activities. The environment is warm and friendly, and the ladies at the front desk are amazing, especially Shannon and Ariana. I’ve been to many physical therapy offices, and this is the best I’ve seen by far!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been faithfully going to Healy PT for physical therapy since being diagnosed with Hypermobile EDS, Craniocervical instability, and tethered cord syndrome. They have brought me so far from when I would come in tears from pain from my shoulders, and dizziness and pounding headache from my neck. My life is never easy with having EDS, but now I can function, get out of bed, climb the stairs, cook simple meals, do gentle cleaning, and spend time with friends and family. The ways they have taught me to safely move my body, the hands-on therapy, and tips for navigating my life are invaluable.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mike is the only reason I have as much functionality as I do. He is the most knowledgeable EDS expert in PT! Lincoln also has a wonderful way to help restore my finiky EDS joints back to their appropriate place. The front office staff are always helpful and willing to go that extra mile for you. Julia in the gym is incredibly sweet and you can just see how much she cares for the patients.

Fantastic experience: With trial and error on finding the right PT you can get amazing care here. Most of the wonderful PTAs are incredibly skilled at sports massage and this, plus the clinic’s unusual depth of knowledge of hypermobile body types has given me back strength I thought permanently lost due to my tendency to get reinjured (through regular types of exercise assigned at other PT places where I’ve been). Desk staff is the absolute best. My only complaint the fluorescent lighting. Healy, ya need indirect LEDs!

Negative experience: I had high hopes but at my first appointment I was on time and made to wait 15 minutes passed my appointment time on a week old operative leg (very painful). When they finally came out, a student introduced herself before any therapist as if she was the treating therapist without asking me if that was okay (I would have said no) and the entire visit felt like I was a participant in her learning lab. I didn’t feel like there was adequate attention to teaching the prescribed exercise as it should be done at home and the sheet they gave me didn’t have the correct volume and repetitions of what to do and I couldn’t remember by the time I had to do it on my own. Not going back.

Fantastic experience: I have been to a LOT of physical therapy clinics in my life, and Healy Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine far outshines them all. Mike Healy, PT, DPT, DOMTP, IOMT, CSN, CPT, MBA, himself, is an astounding physical therapist who is more knowledgeable, skillful, and compassionate than any physical therapist I have ever met. If all the letters behind his name don't impress you, then I'm not sure what will. Those letters behind his name attest to his compassion - his continuing drive to help others by learning all he can to help the people he meets. He is a physical therapist paralleled by few, if any. He truly goes above and beyond for his patients and for everyone else who goes to Healy PT as well. The same can be said about the physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and exercise aids he hires. Dr. Healy makes sure to hire only the best and that is what you get at Healy Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine. Every PT and PTA I have met here have also shown more skill, knowledge, and compassion than any others that I have met elsewhere. I have a chronic, deteriorating health condition and I will likely be in physical therapy for the rest of my life. I will never go anywhere other than Healy PT. I feel safe here in that I know I am getting the absolute best treatment I can. A year ago I was a part-time wheelchair user. Now I can run. The progress I've made here under the aid and guidance of the people here is amazing and always improving. I cannot recommend Healy Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine more.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this place to anybody. Went there for about 7 weeks and didn't get any better. Everytime I went there someone new was working on me and we would go through the same process everytime with what was wrong and how did this happen. I should have had the same person working on me, if not that person then 1 more and that's it. Also they did not give me heat before the stretches and exercises they had me do. The 1 girl I had told me to do an exercise and she wasn't even sure on how to do it. She had to ask to see how it was done then come and show me. That was it for me. I will never go back there again.People there think there Orthropedic Doctors and know what's going on. Not good at all.

Fantastic experience: I had a horrible back disc herniation and started going to the East Providence location. I am currently seeing Martha, Emily, and Steve for my PT’s and it’s been nothing but positivity, and progression. These wonderful people each have their own unique styles of therapy and they all work together to make sure I get the absolute best care possible. I ask a lot of questions because when I explain my pain or discomfort, they know exactly how and where to work on you. I learn something new every single session because they explain everything so amazingly and use really good analogies to explain your body, injury and muscles better. The communication between therapists about your care is clear, and concise so they never forget your progression. The one positive thing that stuck out for me is they don’t just treat you in that one session and forget about you when they’re busy. If they see you preforming an exercise or stretch incorrect, they stop what they’re doing and help you correct your form and educate you on the correct movements, and why you want to stay away from the incorrect movements. When you are done with massage therapy you are sent to the main area to do your exercises where I met Marissa and Pricilla who are absolutely fantastic at their jobs. They always ask how you’re doing, go over your list of exercises with you and are always so positive and excited for you. Absolutely the best experience I’ve ever had and I am referring everyone I know to this location! Thank you all.

Fantastic experience: I have been in physical therapy intermittently since 2016 with very little improvements until this year. In January 2021, I started at Bay State (formerly known as Healy) Physical Therapy; I had read that they specialize in treatment for patients with Ehlers- Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and decided I would try this before I completely gave up on hopes of improving my quality of life. So very glad I walked through that door. Mike as well as the rest of the staff is phenomenal, geared towards each patients specific needs vs. most places that give you the same exercises as the place you went before with no results. They have a hands on approach, correct alignment and then have you do the regimen made for you. Mike, along with Lincoln and Anna Maria have made my pain manageable, so I can function and do my day to day necessities. Arianna and Shannon (up front) have made it easy to schedule all the appointments and Julia has helped me so much in the gym. Thank you so much!

The staff at the office are very well informed about joint hypermobility and really listened to my concerns and what my children needed and as a parent that’s all you can ask for someone who actually understands. We’ve been to a few places and nobody can compare to this office, we love them! I would recommend this office to anyone who needs PT in a heartbeat.

Mikes treatment and care has made such a positive impact on my life. I have Classical Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Crohns Disease, both of which cause severe body pain and deterioration. Thanks to Mikes treatment plan along with his very knowledgeable and friendly staff I am now walking without any type of assistance from braces, my pain is better controlled, I am physically and mentally stronger than ever and I’m back to work. Fantastic experience: I have to give an honest review here, I’ve personally been to multiple physical therapy practices for post recovery on my shoulder surgeries, and I have to say, Healy physical therapy has been nothing less then family towards me, and always treats me with full respect and 100% full attention to my needs at all times. Fantastic experience: Michael Healy has been treating me since 1992 the man has magic fingers when I go in there and I'm hurting he can make me feel like a million dollars in three or four treatments. His staff is knowledgeable and courteous to all his patients. He trains his staff for all new treatments that he learns at medical therapy workshops . He learns all the new techniques and customizes them you're special needs. Michael Healy is the best thing that ever happened to me. I would recommend him to any person who needs physical therapy . He is working on my shoulders my neck my knees. Most importantly my low back. He's a great person himself and a good family man.

Negative experience: Extremely rude and unprofessional attitudes. Made it difficult for me to even get an appointment like they didnt want customers and I'm wrong for needing therapy ..when I finally did I was so turned off by the attitude that I just gave up. Then someone with a different face called back asking if id like to reschedule. I laughed and hung up the phone.

Fantastic experience: As a patient with a complex connective tissue disorder(Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) I suffer from near-constant chronic partial dislocations of joints throughout my body. Michael Healy is the first therapist I have seen who within the span of one assessment, understood the complexity of the multi-levels of dysfunction in my body, and knew exactly how to address those issues. He has consistently offered unparalleled expert manual physical therapy techniques, isolmetric excercises designed for my specific areas of concern, muscle energy, and other therapeutic techniques. I often arrive feeling like I’ve been in a car wreck, and after treatment, invariably leave feeling worlds better, with greater ability to function, and significantly reduced pain. The entire staff is phenomenal. Courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The facility is impeccably clean and well cared for. Michael Healy is not only masterful in his approach to individualized treatment, but one of the most compassionate and genuine therapists I have ever been treated by. Therapists Jacqui, Trish, Lincoln, and Anna have also provided exceptional therapeutic care to me in the two years I have been going there. I send countless friends there, as I know beyond a doubt, they too, will receive expert, compassionate care. I can’t speak highly enough of them. We are incredibly fortunate to have such an outstanding physical therapy and sports medicine facility in our area.

Mike is very knowledgeable in the conditions I have and I am so thankful to have such a knowledgeable PT so close by. Negative experience: Dismal billing practices and accountability. went on a long vacation for the holidays, was told that I could just call them after I returned to schedule my next appointment. When I did so, I was told that it was outside the 30 days and my account had been put on hold and I would need another referral from my doctor. Once I got that, they had lost the first one. And so I had to get a second one. Once I had that, and had scheduled an appointment, I was told that I would be expected to pay another 150 dollar evaluation fee (instead of the $75 it should be) because it was technically going to be a brand new treatment. All of this on a technicality. They refuse to waive that fee, attempting to cite multiple BS legal reasons before finally saying that they just won't do it because it's their policy. This isn't a company that cares about it's customers enough to admit when they made a mistake and then do what they can to remedy those mistakes. They would rather pass the costs of those mistakes to their customers. Stay away.

Mike’s high standard of care and knowledge of the body helped me with a number of neuroskeletal problems over the years. His staff is friendly, courteous and accommodating.
