Pivot PT- Richmond (Westhampton)

Negative experience: My doctor referred me to this location and I have called twice with messages left and no call back. Who is manning the phones?

Fantastic experience: They have me leaving feeling brand new every time. They're extremely friendly as well. Shoutout to the Pivot ladies! I never leave reviews but I always have to Google their # and figured out repay the love

At the Libbie and Patterson clinic where I go I listen to everything. And their advice is correct and they make it easy to understand also. They are very good at answering questions. Fantastic experience: I love my physical therapist. she is very knowledgable and supportive. This company really works hard to meet the needs of clients, and they have been fantastic about getting an ASL interpreter for every session. It really makes a difference, All doctors and service providers should follow their example. UPDATE: A few days after I posted this review, I had a terrible experience with the supervisor at this location. She was oppressive. The physical therapist is a wonderful therapist but beware of the supervisor.

Fantastic experience: I have a what the doctor thinks is a herniated disk, and my insurance company wanted me to have physical therapy before having an MRI. My Orthopedic doctor recommended Pivot Therapy. I work in the health care industry myself, and found a Pivot location near my office on Patterson Ave. I had no choice as to weather I wanted therapy or not, so I gave it a try. There is a physical therapist by the name of Elizabeth, I think they call her Lizzy. She has worked with me the past few weeks and is a real joy to work with. Whether she has me doing squats, leg exercises, or just riding the new step, the time flies. She knows what she is doing and has a personality that everyone will enjoy. While the other employees are friendly, I feel that Lizzy, and the young red headed technician, whose name I do not know, are fantastic. You can come to the office in pain, or in a bad mood, and they make your day better. Once I have completed the “real” exercises, Lizzy places me on a table that “pulls my disc away from the nerve that causes my pain. I cannot remember the name of the table, but I call it the “body stretching table”. It sounds like pulling my disc away from the nerve would be painful, but there is no pain in the procedure that runs from 10 to 15 minutes. Sometimes I even fall asleep while on the table. I have some memory problems at times, and I have shown up on the wrong day for therapy, but they have always been happy to work with me. Sometimes even if I did not have an appointment. Quite often when I get there, I am walking and leaning forward because the nerve in my back and leg is so bad, but after my therapy I feel like a new person again. Thanks again to Lizzy, Pivot’s sweet technician, and all the other great people at Pivot Therapy on Patterson Ave in Richmond Virginia. (WESTHAMPTON LOCATION)

Positive experience: I chose Pivot Physical Therapy on Patterson Ave following major shoulder surgery in April because I wanted a small place that would pay attention. Lucky me, for I was in the most caring and capable hands with Sonya Bautista and her staff. Sonya explained the surgery recovery process and how I would progress to regain full range of motion. Then she and her staff worked with me twice a week with a range of strength building exercises. Most people dread post surgery physical therapy, but Sonya and her staff made each visit a pleasant challenge. She pushed me, but always with an encouraging smile and conversation. If she were not available, whomever she assigned to work with me knew exactly what needed to be done. I was never left alone or looking around for someone to direct me, as is frequently the case in big PT centers. I cannot say enough positive things about Pivot PT under Sonya’s direction. She and her staff are professional and caring, and have a wonderful sense of humor which is essential for the healing process. I have recommended Pivot to several friends and will continue to do so. It is a fine place with excellent staff.

Negative experience: Surprised to see so many positive reviews here. This wasn't the worst experience I've had - except when they slapped me with a huge bill for only three visits, several months after I had left the practice. Just ask that they give you the bill at the time of the appointment and not to send it to billing.

Fantastic experience: Bruce is one the best PT's I've had over the years and his team is equally outstanding. He takes the time to assess the problem and spends all the necessary time to fix it. I've had several painful hip and rib issues for which he was able to provide very fast relief. I would highly recommend Bruce for anyone in need of PT.
