New York Physical Medicine Center: Reviews
Negative experience: Dr unable to arrive to appointments on time, inexperienced in extensive back injuries, push paper while avoiding root cause of pain and injuries. Will refer you to outsourced specialists without first ordering a full imaging to ensure awareness and extent of injury as to ensure the accuracy in course of action. Outcome, did not help. Issues unresolved, specialized in injections without first reviewing imaging to see where injections should go. When patient gets upset, they discontinue services because they can't fulfill their duties in ethnicity, non judgmental opinions, empathy and fulfilling the needs to listen and understand patient experiences, pain level and source of injuries. They can't pull hospital records, cannot look into injuries that they have clearance to view and/or all client records just disappear after years within their client/patient platform.
Negative experience: Absolutely horrible staffing along with inconsiderate doctors that seem only there because that is the last place that are willing to hire them.
Negative experience: I am on web. I fell called there office and told them. I was given an appt for middle of January 2024. I have a fractured knee. There PA Jamie thinks she’s a doctor. Definitely not even close.
Fantastic experience: Perfessional work environment with a hometown feel where the staff has smiles kind and courteous. Always willing to go the extra mile to insure patient satisfaction!!!
Fantastic experience: Hello, I am a longtime patient with this office and I have seen the dramatic change with the staff, the office building itself and I'm stuck. I truly enjoy the service from medical to physical therapy. Very professional and very home setting. This team is great.
Positive experience: New Pain Management specialist. I found that he listens too fast and is forming rebuttals while you are still speaking. He may do this because he extolls he has served over 10,000 patients and he knows what the patient is going to say next. I believe whether you are running behind on the first patient and are playing catch up - you need to actively listen to their questions and concerns. The specialist I had before Ihim I had the time to work with and build a professional relationship with and we did well together. I pray I get the opportunity to do the same with this man in short order.
Negative experience: God forbid someone gets to the phone it’s ridiculous I understand people are busy and stuff but when you have a question that takes maybe a 45 second phone conversation to answer and im sitting on hold for over 10 minutes listening to other people call because you can hear the phone ring while your on hold and nobody picks it up so you just sit there listening to it…. pretty annoying
Negative experience: If you can help it, go anywhere else! The staff is in constant rotation, they dont file paperwork when you need it, you have to constantly call to get what you need, they reschedule appointments repeatedly and the the physicians don't really seem to care! Annoyed!!!
Fantastic experience: New patient experience with Dr Masaba was overall very positive. Office staff friendly and organized- never felt rushed, Dr Masaba was very generous with his time, not spending it on his computer but answering my questions and reviewing my history and developing my plan forward.
Positive experience: The people here are great. Great customer service. Not one one delay in scrips for my case and parties Involved. I have been with this location since my case started in 2015. ALL the people I have seen here have been wonderful. Thank you for the warm welcome every time I come in.
Negative experience: One of the worse. Getting your monthly prescriptions filled is terrible. They lie & don't fulfill your script. I wish to be done with them. Mark Stevens never fills your script on time. It's been 2 days without my gabapentin. Horrible customer service.
Negative experience: A patient since 2007. Office was disorganized early on but became better. Original providers were good. Presently PA does nothing for me but push surgery. My cases are WC. He won't write a prescription or order anything. When asked what assistive devices are covered under worker's comp he says he doesn't know. When asked what pain meds are available to me? He says it's all "over the counter". When asked what therapies I can have? He says there are none. Just sits there legs crossed swinging his foot. He doesn't even provide a physical assessment of the progression of my conditions. When I asked, "How are you managing my pain?", his reply was, "we are seeing you in the office ."!!! I've seen Dr. Masaba about 3 times., maybe, if that. This place is a "dead end"!. If you don't agree to surgery, they give up on you. I needed 12 screws, 2 rods and 12 cages, warned I may not survive the surgery and if I do, possibility of loose hardware, infection, pneumonia and very limited mobility, at 70 years of age.
Negative experience: Scripted responses when I call. Late submission of bills are not the patient's fault. I was told by the doctor to call him after the surgery in February. I stopped trying by April. Office staff destroyed the entire gig.
Fantastic experience: Dr Masaba, Jamie, and Mark are all Excellent! Greg - Physical Therapist knows his stuff, and I went through 36 weeks of physical therapy - 6 weeks before surgery! Lissette and Wanda are the best Office staff ever! Very caring and compassionate! God Bless these folks because they care about their patients!
Positive experience: Work related injuries & multiple treatments elsewhere brought me to see Dr. Masaba. He reviewed everything, listened and put together a plan that involved me & my thoughts. I have been pleased w his service & compassion. Office staff have been great other times not so much.
Negative experience: vary bad experience went to this place for a year nearly saw the dr. always atended by the pa who really did not help with my health i was at a high dose of gabepantin and this madication had me shaking and never help me with my pain 1 star is just to much i would never recomend this place ever
Fantastic experience: I can’t find any words for dr Masaba and associates they are #1 in Rochester NY thank you NYPM **********
Negative experience: Went to this office only because it was the only one I could find who would take WC. been going there for about 6-7 years besides dr grier who actullay talk to me about my pain and how to cope with my condition going forward , but when he left a dr masaba took over I've seen this man maybe 2-3 times in 6 years but he and his PA had decided years ago i was no longer injured and could go back to work with hardly no restrictions and the restrictions they gave me was not based on a real examination and they never requested any xrays or MRI's. they think it's ok for me to go back to work without knowing what my real condition or restrictions should be ,they could care less
Negative experience: I have been a patient my entire life (32 years) and have NEVER encountered such an incompetent office like this!! They mess up my controlled substance script (for severe chronic pain) EVERY MONTH to the point where I am at risk of not getting my medicine when I need it. For instance, it's Thursday and I need my medicine TOMORROW and they still haven't sent the script to my pharmacy, despite the fact I called them for the new script on MONDAY. They sent it to the wrong pharmacy AGAIN. And it's a medicine that has to be approved by worker's comp. Wanda frequently hangs up on me when she frequently makes mistakes. Other office staff have hung up on me in the past. Jamie is the ONLY kind and professional PA there. I've been with this practice for almost 4 years and have these issues ALL THE TIME. THIS PRACTICE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN DUE TO MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE!!!
Fantastic experience: I rarely ever post a review...BUT I feel the need to do so, based upon reviews of New York Physical Medicine Center. I had my first appointment 4ish months ago and am always hesitant to visit any new office. Went to follow up today. I saw the newer PA, that I believe some reviews complained about. Was anxious to even attend... (take every strangers advice with many grains of salt) I was beyond satisfied with the information, listening and understanding I received! Mark took the time to explain all aspects of my pain, in a way no other provider has done before.
Negative experience: I have been going here for 5 years, they have changed Drs 3 times. I absolutely loved Dr Grier, not only was he an excellent and very knowledgeable Dr,he was amazingly compassionate and kind. The PA Breann left the practice as well within a couple of weeks of Dr Grear. The new PA unfortunately may be quite knowledgeable however he seems to be running the show and he’s not my cup of tea. I believe he’s really not understanding of chronic pain and definitely not very empathetic to the patients who suffer horribly with this. Dr Masaba seemed compassionate however when I left urgent messages he never returned my calls and when I finally did speak on phone to him it was only because in my message I told him that 2 of my other Drs said I needed to speak with him. He told me he doesn’t make calls after hrs ( he called me at 4:00!). He said they’re a private clinic and don’t operate like that. He definitely was not pleased about calling me. The ladies who work there and the PT department and the therapists there are excellent,Wanda who does the prescriptions there has always gone above and beyond for me,if not for her I don’t think he would have ever called me. I could go on and on,my main point is I am very very unhappy with the new regime and the total lack of compassion that I have received since Dr Grier moved on.
Negative experience: Dr. Masaba was wrong. Chiropractor was right and he ignored chiropractor and refused MRI of my neck which after switching doctors and getting MRI I have 3 blown disks in my neck. Because of Dr. Masaba I have suffered longer. Do not go to him. He just doesn't have experience and is arrogant.
Fantastic experience: I have been going to this team of Drs for about a year now. I was very hesitant as to going because Drs today just want to mask the problem instead of fixing the problem. These guys are truly amazing, from the front staff to the nurses down to the Drs. Have always called to check on my progress and always listen to how I'm feeling and what exactly is going on and have been doing everything to help me get better. Would definitely reccomened them to anyone that is having problems.
Negative experience: They don't hav e enough doctors. Since I been going there they hav e changed doctors 3 times. I fell and they told me they could see me June 19th.
Negative experience: POOR SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WENT TO A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT AND THEN THEY TELL ME THAT THE BILL IS NOT COVERED AFTER i MAKE THE TRIP. TODAY, I FOUND OUT AFTER MAKING ANOTHER TRIP THAT THE DOCTOR HAS NOT BEEN AT THE OFFICE FOR AT LEAST ONE MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Negative experience: Not impressed
