Fantastic experience: Maddie and all other staff and therapists were very friendly and I loved going there every session. Maddie was the best therapist I've ever had. I play rugby at college, and she always kept in mind the movements that are specific to the sport, and provided appropriate training and treatment. She was always willing to help me with anything and always willing to adjust with my schedule. I 200% recommend going there, especially if you are a student athlete.

Fantastic experience: Quinn has seen me through a difficult shoulder issue, a hip replacement, and most recently, a knee replacement. I cannot speak highly enough about his skill and care. He is low key, caring, encouraging, and, most importantly, effective. His sense of humor and the good nature of all the people who work with him make physical therapy visits something I looked forward to. At Swanson McArthur I was shown exercises I was motivated to do at home. Thank you, Quinn!

Fantastic experience: I don't mean to be dramatic, but Swanson McArthur Physical Therapy has changed my life forever. All of the staff are warm and friendly, and really deeply care about their patients. I have a rare connective tissue disorder known as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and the physical therapists here not only know what that is, but have studied and researched to provide incredible information to the patients. I have gone down almost every path imaginable for pain relief from narcotics to nerve ablation and nothing has ever done more for me than the combination of land and pool exercises under the expertise of Swanson McArthur Physical Therapy.

Fantastic experience: I have received amazing support and treatment at Swanson McArthur PT facility. Both in the pool and "on land". I am nearing the end of my treatment plan after months of physical challenges. It was one thing after another. I believe the initial referral was for neck pain. Concurrent and consecutive developments involved severe diabetic nerve pain both hands and feet, lower back, hips, and elbows. I was a mess. Then an opportunity presented itself. An old FHS class of 1974 friend invited me to join her Sacramento Senior Spirit cheerleading squad that she just started up. SMPT Taylor deSilva set a course of treatment that helped transform me from a state of apathy to a publicly performing senior cheerleader. I feel so much better and will be leaving with a better understanding of how to properly move my body throughout daily tasks in addition to strengthening exercises to further improve and maintain my progress. I want to give a special shoutout to Taylor and to all the supporting staff, PT's and to Quinn. You guys ROCK!

Fantastic experience: Such a incredible place. They can help you with any issues. They are all very knowledgeable. I have Elhers Danlos syndrome and been to other physical therapy places. I never had great experience with them on how to help with my complex issues. Maddie at Swanson McArthur is so incredible and really listens and helps. She knows alot about Elhers danlos syndrome. She has helped me more than she knows with being able to do more with my body.

Fantastic experience: I have had a very positive experience going to Swanson McArthur PT. From the beginning I was greeted and welcomed by a professional & compassionate group of people. I was able to quickly connect with Maddie my therapist, as her demeanor, experience & knowledge put me at ease, as I was also dealing with a lot of traumas due to my injuries. I feel the exercise program designed for me was just right and I was always encouraged to take a break if needed & to stay hydrated. As I engaged more with Maddie and the staff through my therapy program there were also moments of laughter which is so helpful in the overall healing process. They adhered also to good safety practices during this time of Covid and I would highly recommend Swanson McArthur Physical Therapy.

Fantastic experience: I began Swanson McAuthor Physical Therapy for recovering from an ACL reconstruction surgery. We began with land only exercises which helped, however, my range of motion was limited on land. PT Maddy and Quinn came up with the idea of doing in water exercises to help quicken the recovery. My goal was to get back into water polo 5 months post operation. Maddy began leading me in different exercises in the pool, after I had warmed up onland with the bike. In the pool I was able to not only walk efficiently but also run. Without the hard impact on my knee that comes from running on land, in the water I had full range of motion and low impact which allowed me to move forward with my recovery at an excelled rate. I could do sprints forwards, backwards, and side-to-side in the pool within 3 months post operation. While it took some time to be able to run on land with the efficiency I found in the water, the transition was very smooth because my muscles had been able to develop through the water exercises. Also being able to run in water so quickly after my operation really helped with my motivation to continue the recovery process and to not give up. The program the therapists at Swanson McAuthor created for me was amazing and extremely helpful. They really care about their patients and do everything in their power to help you. I would recommend them to any athlete in need of a physical therapist. I had a 10/10 experience.

Fantastic experience: This is my second return to Swanson McCarthur Physical Therapy. One of the biggest draws for me is the heated exercise pool. Furthermore, the quality of all staff is OUTSTANDING. Currently I am working with Dr. Maddie Spalding. She is a consummate professional. Maddie is motivating, and creative in her recommendations for pool and at home exercises. I honestly feel my strength and endurance increasing. If I find an exercise difficult Maddie is there to assist me in modifying the exercise so that I can complete it. Unfortunately, I have to have my [2007] left knee replacement, replaced again. I already know where I will be doing my post surgery rehabilitation. To be a bit corny I give Swanson McCarthur a 10 out of 10! Cate McCoy, patient.

Fantastic experience: fter two years of searching and several trials at several other local P.T. clinics, we finally found help for my daughter with POTS, EDS, and other related conditions. Her case is very complicated, and Maddie is compassionate, knowledgeable, and great at finding the balance between pushing toward progress without going too far and flaring things up. I was immediately surprised and impressed that she has done so much research and knows more about my daughter's conditions than most medical professionals/specialists we have seen. I also appreciate that she is constantly thinking outside the box and has brought Sarah in to treat Vertigo and add insight into other issues she has experience with. Sarah has been a great addition to the team and has a lot of knowledge to offer. After many experiences at other clinics, I am really impressed that the P.T.'s at Swanson McArthur PT are so well supported in continuing their education and given the time it takes to create and perform specialized treatments. That is hard to find for straightforward and common conditions and almost impossible for conditions that are uncommon and hard to treat. It says a lot about how the owners value their staff and patients, and I am so grateful!

Fantastic experience: I'm so happy I found Swanson McArthur Physical Therapy for an old back injury that had flared. My therapist, Maddie, was excellent, caring, a great listener and problem solver. Fantastic experience: I have been going here for over a year, and Maddie is amazing. When I first started coming, it was a struggle to get in and especially out of the pool due to difficulty moving and pain. I have a plethora of health issues that have benefitted greatly from the pool and land therapy Maddie and the rest of the staff have helped me through. The difference is night and day, and you can visibly see the difference (and I can feel!) when I miss an appointment. If you are looking for a professional, friendly, and empathetic physical therapy office, go to Swanson Macarthur. You really won't regret it, and you'll be feeling so much better soon.

Fantastic experience: I had the good fortune to have found Swanson McArthur for physical therapy before and after knee replacement surgery. The facility offers both land and aquatic therapy. The highly trained therapists and dedicated staff are amazing. My therapist, Maddie Spalding, is exceptional!! She has provided a program which includes a variety of exercises after manual therapy as well as pool time to reinforce my progress. Because of her expertise I am now back to my normal activities of biking, golfing, swimming, etc. Thank you Maddie and all at Swanson McArthur!

Fantastic experience: If you must have Physical Therapy this is the place! The facility is well presented with all of the equipment and current “machines” to speed your recovery. However, the major plus is the staff. I am working with Maddie and she is a perfect delight! Such a positive, happy, darling person…and beside that an excellent PT! Her concern for my progress and scaling the exercises for my needs is of great importance to her. The other members of the team are cheerful, engaging people with always your best interest in doing the exercises correctly and safely in the forefront. I cannot recommend Swanson McArthur highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I have used Maddie and Sarah at their office for many months now.(possibly even years) I have chronic neck spasms and Maddie recommended using their indoor warm water pool for physical therapy. It is the BEST thing ever! It helps with not only the spasms but the associated pain. I had been in the pool alone for my morning routine and had a severe vertigo episode and was laying on their bench when Maddie came out to do group therapy. She managed to get me inside the office, called my son and waited quite while for him to come get me. Sarah came in and told me she is a specialist for vertigo. I then made appointments for Sarah who determined I not only had vertigo but nystagmus. While I need to see her again for the nystagmus because I did not do my exercises at home, she has helped me reset the inner ear crystals so I would no longer be overwhelmed with dizziness constantly. Sarah also helped me determine that it was not all vertigo related, and I'm positive the doctor would not have listened had it not been for Sarah's assistance. (Dr kept blaming on meds when it is really vestibular neuritis) I still see Maddie regularly for cupping and other exercises for my neck/upper back and all those associated with it. I've even told her that if she leaves this practice I'd follow her to the other clinic to get the much needed help. I highly recommend both therapists as they take their time, listen and do anything they can to get their patients on the pathway to recovery. The clinic is privately owned and I feel at home there, unlike others I've been to where I felt like a hampster on the wheel and the true issues were not resolved because as they would say "its not on your referral, so I can't answer that" Maddie and Sarah both treated me like family. It doesn't matter what I need in the future for PT, this is where I want the referral to go to. Wendi

Fantastic experience: I have been treated by Maddy and Sarah with Swanson McCarther for the last 5 years as needed. Originally I chose this office because of location and the fact they have a heated therapy pool. Quality of care is my main reason now. In these 5 years they have rehabbed me through multiple injuries and surgeries using varying techniques, including (both land and in water) exercises, proper use of therapy equipment, one on one instruction, overall care of the body part being rehabbed, massage, heat other than water therapy, posture, balance and stamina. At 75 I intend to count on these two professional physical therapists to keep me active and as pain free as possible without resorting to over use of drugs. They have had an enormous positive influence on my health, and their personalities have been a pleasure to include in my life. Moreover, I consider them friends, and am physically and mentally better for them.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing. I was told I needed PT for a broken Tibula and Fibia in June. I could not get a call back from the place my Ortho office sent my referal to.. My son researched and found Swanson McArthur. They were so friendly and made me an appointment that same week. I was very nervous because I never broke a bone before. Quinn (my PT)made the experience so much easier. He is calm and very kind. He makes you feel like you will get better without a doubt. I am a worrier so this was exactly what I needed to hear. Very positive attitude I now am with Maddie in the pool. She is amazing. She is very professional and always makes sure your pain free during the excersizes. I am so happy to work with her and Quinn. If you are in need of PT I would highly recommended this facility. The girls who work there are so kind and helpful as well. It is very clean and they take so many precautions to ensure your safety.

Fantastic experience: I love going there. Their therapist are excellent. I have never received more professional, skilled, empathetic care. I have received neurological and physical care for my balance, vertigo, and strength. After seventy years I have finally learned how to listen to my body’s needs when it comes to exercise. They have helped me manage my autoimmune disease. Sarah and Maddie have both been excellent. I have been to four different therapy offices and never received such excellent care.

Fantastic experience: The therapists at Swanson, especially Maddie, have been absolutely amazing during my therapy sessions. They are always going above and beyond to help, to answer questions, and to get me back to my best by listening and caring about my personal goals. I have been receiving remote and remote aquatic therapy for months and it has been remarkable how much progress I have made! These therapists really care about you and do everything to learn the root cause of injury to provide you with the best exercises and routine for a full recovery! I highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Swanson McArthur Physical Therapy is amazing! I have been working with Maddie both in the pool and land. In both the pool and land she sets up a workout that is bests for your particular needs. Maddie listens very intently at every visit. She doesn't just set up a program for a certain problem and leave it at that. The program varies depending on your progress. The staff is also great and very helpful. Swanson McArthur has my highest endorsement.

Fantastic experience: Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. My Physical Therapist, Dr. Madelynn Hagen did an excellent job, very kind and caring, explained all the different exercises and how to self care to maintain good spinal health. I would highly recommend her. Also, the assistants were very polite and friendly. I looked forward to all my appointments.

Fantastic experience: Early 2020 I was in search of water therapy and found Swanson McArthur and then Covid happened. In April 2021, when things were safer, I was able to get in for an assessment. And then, water therapy - and what a difference this has made in my life! Suffering from chronic back and neck pain most of my life, I have tried PT, Acupuncture, injections, chiropractic, massage and water therapy. Working out in the water is the least painful, safe and has been the best treatment for me! This place is amazing!!! All the staff are friendly, professional and seem truly dedicated to there profession!! I have worked with Maddie for all my water therapy and she is on top of everything. She tunes into you personally and addresses ALL the issues at each session. On-going issues and any new aches or pains, etc…. I am forever grateful to her and all the staff here !!

Fantastic experience: 10/10 best decision of your life will be to get your physical therapy and aquatic therapy from Swanson McArthur. I am only able to walk today because of them, and specifically because of Maddie. She has worked with me for over a year in the aquatic therapy pool as I have progressed from completely disabled to able to walk again. She is not like most providers, she takes the time to learn what is best for you individually and makes sure you get exactly the help you need to thrive again. I am not the easiest patient, I have a rare chronic condition, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, that very few medical professionals, including PTs know about. Maddie has read books and research articles to learn as much as she can and help me function again and reduce my pain. To any and all people looking for a PT to change your life go to Swanson McArthur. While I only have experience working with Maddie, I know all of there therapists are amazing and you are in good hands.

Fantastic experience: Dr Maddie is the best physical therapist in Northern California and she Is truly caring and knowledgeable about her work.
