Natividad Hospital

Negative experience: Staff bared my breast to several men who were in the ER with other patients. Had me urinate in a bed pan and left me in my urine with no way to clean myself until I got home. I asked for wipes they said they didn’t have any. Left me in convulsions for 4 hours insisting I tell them the narcotic I had used. I told them none. They waited to get the toxicology report back where they determined I had no alcohol or narcotics and finally treated me for the convulsions. I’m diabetic I had used an epi pen due to a food allergy which skyrocketed my blood sugar to the 500’s with in moments. Hello Dr have you heard of DKA. REDICULOUS not everyone living in this town is a drug addict. I pray I never have to go to this hospital ever again. SMH.

Fantastic experience: Best welcoming and good atmosphere ER I have been to.

Positive experience: Everything went fine except there was no explanation about how to put the eye medication in my eyes.

Fantastic experience: This review is on PA Katie Cobb. She is very knowledgeable and thorough. She will listen to your concerns and immediately take action. I saw her at the ER. That day the rest of the staff was also amazing( the nurses, the person that did an ultrasound and CT scan). I've only been here one other time and my experience was horrible. I think the quality of service depends on who is on duty when you go.

Fantastic experience: Besides the ER Doctor, there were two staff members that were just AMAZING! A male X-Ray Tech Chris was extremely professional and he seemed to love what he’s doing. The other staff member RN Alley is fabulous! Nurturing, attentive, and very knowledgeable. Can’t say enough about RN Alley and X-Ray Tech Chris. Both are exceptional caring individuals.

Negative experience: ER experiences. Dr Doherty and Dr Burke are the worst. Both are cold, pompous, rude, small little men in confidence that like to throw their weight around. Some staff are kind enough, other staff are rude and policy-stricken. Gross display of arrogant, cold, emotionally avoidant disgusting men in general. I received adequate support here, but when I asked for a brace because I couldn't hold my neck up without pain, Dr Doherty refused. I had been assaulted a few days ago by 6 men and only a few days later by another man. He suggested pain medication to mask the pain instead of offering a brace. I pleaded with him that I really needed it, that I had asked a few days before and that I still needed it from the recent assault. I even told him I was homeless and could not afford a brace outside of this. He refused, even when I asked if he gets cited for giving out braces to people that need them. What can I expect from a doctor that thinks medication that numbs symptoms is healthier than a brace that would help support muscles? And from such a cold, arrogant, pompous person who only cares about himself and denies his own sensitivity. Ew! What a cruel person. It's saddening when our own doctors care more about themselves than they do about the people they're supposed to care about and protect.

Negative experience: Total waste of time. No medicine change,no set detective and still at place as when I arrived. Nurses aides falling asleep while supposing to watch patients in hallway and a over use of phone scrolling.No help from Doctor, Psychiatrist and Social worker. I felt like they said good luck and see you. I am very disappointed.

Positive experience: The nurses were nice except for the the check in staff they always seem really irritated by there job which I can’t imagine how they act when they are in the back catering for the patients who r sick

Positive experience: doctors ..great help rep/phone reps...eh nurses..eh just be on your toes community and speak up to these people but look out for eachother your pain doesn't mean anything to me or them when someone is hurting more, inside or out, learn to read the room plese and thank you

Fantastic experience: It took awhile ,I was in a lot of pain with my teeth,a big thank you to the doctor,and believe the pain I was in ,even my own dentist wouldn't help me with the pain I was in ,I'm finding a new dentist!

Negative experience: I wish I can give zero stars I had a horrible experience taking by son to the ER for having high fever’s and ear pain. I got told my son didn’t have anything. They only give him Motrin and Tylenol at the same time which cause my son entire body to shake non stop, his skin turning pale and then yellowis and under his eyes purple. No one took his vitals to see what was going on with him. At the end we got discharged close to being 1 am with no diagnose . I end up taking my son to his doctor and sure enough he had an ear infection. When the ER doctor said there was nothing wrong with my son ears .

Negative experience: I came in after calling the VA nurse line for a possible ectopic pregnancy or IUD uterine wall rupture. The staff triaged me ONLY from the waiting room. I spent 6 hours in a seated position compounding my pain. I had an ultrasound and Dr. Tripp was told by the ultrasound tech that I had a 7.5 cm hemorrhagic cyst on my right ovary. Dr. Tripp discharged me and told me the symptoms I would look for for the next 6 weeks. These symptoms were the symptoms I already had. He never called an obgyn. He said I should be seen by my obgyn. I slept on it. Was in more pain. Called the VA nurse line again. She told me to go to the ER right now. My partner drove me 1.5 hours to the VA ER. I had another ultrasound and the cyst had grown .5 cm overnight. They had me seen by the oncall obgyn. Who brought me to surgery and said that the moment she touched the cyst it ruptured. That it was about to rupture and could have lead to internal bleeding and had it had happened in my sleep, I could've died. Super disappointed in Natividad Dr. Tripp not even doing a physical exam and then sending me home with a ticking time bomb. I've received such good care before this. The ultrasound tech was amazing! Had he had not emphasized seeing my obgyn stat, I am not sure if I would be here today recovering from my emergency surgery.

Fantastic experience: I would recommend using Natividad HHospital, it was a fast process to be seen. From registering to getting to diagnos my pain it went smooth. I noticed team work with friendly staff. I felt they went over and beyond to make sure I had a pleasant experience. The head nurse took care of an annoying person that just wanted to loiter and have her dog with her too. Firm but nice, it didn’t get out of control.

Fantastic experience: Since I entered the building desk information staff was very helpful and friendly as I got to the registration office at ER both staff members (nurse and social worker) helped me in a very professional and empathetic manner also making sure I understand all information given to me because they were bilingual so it made it easier and smooth, entering the ER nurses and doctors was very professional and empathetic always respectful and friendly explaining to me in details of my illness and how to take care of it making sure before that I understand all information and answering all my questions until I was satisfied. I totally appreciate all the staff that made my experience smooth and easy. Thanks to all and i can tell people at Natividad Hospital really love and have a strong passion for what they do that is helping our community

Negative experience: Don’t check in here if you are over 75. Home care yourself. If you have to check in here, make sure you have relatives fighting for you every day. The doctors in the ICU do not seem to think people over 75 are worth saving. AVOIID.

Fantastic experience: I am 72 years old and I think, pretty well seasoned, not prone to being surprised by much but I have to tell you that the Doctors and staff who I came into contact with were: AMAZING, THOROUGH, COMPASSIONATE, CARING, SUPPORTIVE, HELPFUL IN EVERY WAY, INFORMATIVE, ATTENTIVE, REASSURING, THOROUGH and give me a few hours and I will think of more ways to say THANK YOU & for the Doctors and wonderful staff who attended me! Negative experience: That male nurse Brian or Adam isnt a team player. For the record Hippa does not apply to patients, you have every right to record based on the 1st amendment of the constituition. The hospital and lobby is open to a public place. I still have the recordings when the nurse tried to get me to delete my videos. I needed to document for further proof. Please let the nurse know, not to convince me to delete my videos. I have a video of her face of you like to see. And if a patient can barely move, be courteous and bring them next to their pick up vehicle in a wheel chair instead of leaving them in the lobby. Thank You

Fantastic experience: I was brought in by ambulance after a bike accident in Pebble Beach. I was so happy with my experience. The whole team was awesome and did everything they could to keep me comfortable. I felt like they really cared about me and that I was more than a number to them. I was pretty rough when they brought me in. I would not have wanted to go anywhere else in this situation

Negative experience: Staff needs to work on having a good attitude towards patients and doctors/ nurses should have to be more thorough with tests as I was sent home to having nothing to later find out I had a kidney stone. Terrible natividad just terrible.

Negative experience: Went to Natividad Hospital because they are suppose to be a trauma hospital for a sore on my leg that I believe I was bit by a spider. NEVER saw a Dr only his ASST. He really didn't listen to what I was telling him and blamed me for the sore on my leg. Now it is worse!!!!

Negative experience: I debated between 1 & 2 stars for this review. It was a 2 star review & I'm downgrading it to 1 because the new hospital is scrambling to give my hubby the kind of care he should've had from the beginning at Natividad. My husband was in the hospital with multiple problems. I feel like much of his treatments were "do enough to get by" or just "give Tylenol" for example:They never bothered to even find out exactly what was causing him to run high fevers – over 100, 101+. He also had a leg wound when he was admitted to ICU. They slapped a compression boot on him & until he was moved to a med-surg bed it wasn't looked at or monitored. When the med surge nurse removed the boot, there was a huge infection & we're still dealing with it at the hospital we moved him to. If you or a family member want to come out of Natividad well & in 1 piece, DO NOT go to this place. Go to SVMH or CHOMP or some other area hospital if you value your life or the life of your lived one.

Positive experience: I was brought in by ambulance due to a trauma accident falling off of a roof. The ER and trauma staff were quick efficient and professional. I was in intense pain and they gave me pain pain meds right away. They were very attentive to my needs and communicated all the steps that they took in advance. They were thorough in their course of treatment with MRIs x-rays and bloodwork. There was a slight difference of opinion among the doctors on the course of treatment, both were viable valid solutions.

Negative experience: Subpar experience came here for an appointment waited 2 hours for the doctor to see me less than 10 mins and reschedule me. In that wait time they came in and read someone else's chart to me. Sorry Maria Fernandez I now know your medical history because it wasn't until after everything was read they asked me my name.

Fantastic experience: Kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable care. I've had a few visits there probably around 4 or 5 now and I've never had to wait long to receive care based on the actual urgency of my condition. When I had pancreatitis, I was seen immediately and cared for with all necessary medications. Even with something as serious and painful as pancreatitis, I was already feeling so much better just by the time I was falling asleep on my first night in the hospital. I will certainly be coming back here if I ever have another medical emergency as well as recommend Natividad hospital to my friends and family.

Fantastic experience: The check in process was easy and quick. I didn't have to wait too long to see a Nurse and PA. They treated me for my symptoms and had me wait to make sure everything was ok. It took a little while to be discharged but only because they had a lot of patients show up all at once. The staff was friendly, helpful, understanding and caring. I appreciate the positive experience I had at NMC ER.

Negative experience: I was sent by my pcp to the er for high blood pressure. And the er doctor didn’t agree with my pcp. Even thro his instruments showed I did have my blood pressure up. He just sent me home.

Fantastic experience: I just want to thank the e.r.staff todayi was totally scared to come I. Totally worried about being looked down up or criticized. For my emergency .. and you know what. That's the best hospital with the bear staff from checking in to receiving top notch care and understanding people . This isn't the first time they saved me from a world of pain. Desperation just by. Being patient. And. Even tho I'm dead I don't even know sign language. But one of the nurses busted out with some American sign language. Ihope you guys see this. .. thank you for all your help . Positive experience: A long wait from around 2-11pm . The staff who treated me was kind and helpful and I understood they were busy . The entrance staff who checked me in were not welcoming and didn’t seem to care about anything , more interested in talking and laughing with their coworkers than helping people check in .

Fantastic experience: Labor and delivery. Nurse Lucy (lucia) was amazing. She really listened to me and was really helpful with me during my delivery. Very friendly and easy to get along with. Loved her. Also the anesthesiologist janel (not sure on spelling) AMAZING. I was scared to get the epidural but she talked me through it and I had a great birth. These ladies made my delivery amazing

Fantastic experience: Love this hospital for all of my family needs. They had multiple emergencies come in while i was there and still they were on it with my care. The Drs and nurses really look like they enjoy what they do and want to be in the medical field! That is getting harder and harder to find these days! Also -I am a real patient and live local to the area.

Fantastic experience: I went to the ER on Friday morning for an infected spider bite on my foot. I was greeted and immediately signed in. Within a few minutes, a male called my name and weighed me, he held my handbag for me like a true gentlemen. He and a female doctor and myself discussed symptoms and treatments . They were both very pleasant and helpful and they all worked like a team. I was in and out in less than an hour. Excellent staff. Thank you for treating me so well and so quick. Thank you to all Natividad staff for the work you do and for doing it so well .

Negative experience: They will try to get the patient in and out as soon as possible which causes the patient experience to be horrible as if the nurses and doctors don't really care about the patient. Seems and feels like huge money grab for these nurses, doctors, and staff. As if they clock in to get through their hours not really doing their jobs with a passion, like if they didn't train hard and spent long hours days and hours in school in order to become these employees. Isn't Monterey county suppose to be one the richest in the state if not the US ! Where is all this money going ?? The worst hospital in the county.

Negative experience: 5 am and hospital beds are empty, staff hanging around chitchatting. I was in for pain in my abdomen and I was waiting for 3 hrs in pain. Staff don’t really care about a human life cause they take forever & I just got up and left the bed. Thanks for being a terrible hospital.

Positive experience: I was in severe pain when I showed up and the staff worked quickly to get me in and feeling better.

Negative experience: Took my mom this morning with concerns about her symptoms, dizziness , chills, and unable to speak clearly to just get no results of what really happened. Walked in at 11am it is now 3pm and we are just sitting around for paper work. I'm out of here and never coming back. Natividad hospital was highly talked about back in the day . What happened to this hospital? They had to Google Alzheimer's but he is a doctor and didn't know anything about the disease.

Fantastic experience: A wonderful visit to the ER . Which is strange to say . All the way from the beginning of check in to me leaving the ER. You can see it takes a special team to provide such professional care. For a Sunday night I was in and out within 2 hours . If I have any future emergency issues. I will definitely go back and will recommend my family and friends!

Negative experience: Dr. Kincaid, Adam J displayed a striking lack of concern regarding the entire situation. Despite being referred to the emergency room by my primary doctor due to distressing symptoms like shortness of breath, loss of voice, and a noticeable 2cm lump on my neck, Dr. Kincaid made me feel ashamed for seeking urgent medical attention. His behavior was highly unprofessional and disheartening.

Fantastic experience: Natividad hospital of Salinas California is the best place for me and my family to go when we have a emergency they are very nice
