Fantastic experience: Went to see Jimmy for an achilles issue related to running. In our session together, he took a really collaborative approach in diagnosing my injury and concrete actions to help ease the discomfort and build up strength. He took a practical and simple approach to my physical therapy exercises and by the time I went back to him in two weeks, I was seeing a lot of progress. So much, that we started working together on the coaching side of things. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience, instilling a lot of confidence to get me back on track. Would highly recommend to any athlete or active person.

Fantastic experience: I would give Jimmy 6 stars if Google allowed it. I had been working with another physical therapist for 18 months on a shoulder issue, with only moderate success. Jimmy made a different diagnosis of my issue, gave me 3 exercises to do 3 times a week, and my shoulder is like new. He is a pleasure to meet with, a careful listener and communicator, and a kind presence. My shoulder is still doing great. Thank you, Jimmy.

Fantastic experience: Jimmy's the man! I was having some pain in my arm and others were unable to accurately diagnose the issue. 30 minutes with Jimmy and he identified the issue and what I needed to do. 11/10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Jimmy is a legend! He’s an ultra runner and helped me recover in time for an ultra race I was training for. He gets it and he’ll work hard for you! Best there is!

Fantastic experience: I've done my fair share of shopping for PTs in SLC, and Jimmy is my new favorite. He took the time (lots of time) to explain the likely cause of pain and how treatment can work. Warning: He opened a textbook! He gave me the confidence and tools to work through pain and injury when necessary. I'm excited to start planning races after years of not feeling durable enough to make it to the start line uninjured.

Fantastic experience: I am a 40+ years old office professional with a very busy schedule and demanding work. Redefine quickly understood my background, the circumstances that surrounded me and my running goals. From there, Redefine defined a tailored workout program and monitoring approach. Fantastic experience: Jimmy has a wealth of knowledge on the human anatomy and physiology and brings this expertise to his practice. After each visit I felt “seen” and understood, and have walked away armored with a plan for rehabilitation and strength. After following his customized strength plan I have seen improvements in my overall fitness. I highly recommend Redefine PT!

Fantastic experience: Jimmy is an excellent PT! In our first visit, he quickly identified the source of my injury and developed an exercise plan, within the context of my training activities, to mitigate the pain. I could feel the difference within a few days. Amazing!

Fantastic experience: At the beginning of 2020, I was dealing with a winged scapula and very limited shoulder mobility due to an injury to my long thoracic nerve. I was going to an orthopedic surgeon and their affiliated physical therapists in Detroit, Michigan. After not seeing any improvement for OVER A YEAR, I decided to stop all treatment in Detroit and work with Jimmy at Redefine virtually. Jimmy advised me to start reintroducing movements and exercise that the orthopedic surgeon and PTs wanted me to completely avoid. Within a month, I regained full mobility in my shoulder and am now back to 100%. If you're not satisfied with the traditional healthcare recommendations of "just don't run that far" or "don't lift that heavy", I highly recommend Redefine to address and correct the root cause of your injuries/pain and keep you doing what you're passionate about.

Fantastic experience: Jimmy is the best coach I have ever worked with. I have been running for years, and he has helped me safely and successfully return from injury with his expertise in PT and strength training. Fantastic experience: Jimmy is legit. I spent a few months taking his classes at The Sect and ended up having great results. I seriously enjoyed working with him so much and I continue to be so impressed with his ability to push just the right amount while being careful not to agitate injuries. A trainer who has the mind of a physical therapist is such a wonderful resource and it is no surprise to me that he keeps turning out such exceptional performers. Whether you're trying to run a huge race and you want help to do something that feels impossible or if you're just looking to improve strength and performance, he's the guy.

Fantastic experience: Jimmy is the man. He will work with you on exactly what your body needs. I came to him wanting to strengthen certain areas where I have past injuries and some other chronic issues. He's helped me build up my body to a point where I feel so much stronger and less afraid of re-injury to my back. Not only is he knowledgable, but he's just a rad dude who is great to work with. Whatever your strength goals are, Jimmy will get you there. Also, his logo is super cool!

Fantastic experience: Jimmy helped me deal With an injury that popped up in the middle of my marathon training schedule. Fantastic experience: Working with Jimmy has been the best! He is so intuitive and knowledgeable. He considers your holistic health when treating your issue. I have worked with PTs at the running clinic at the University of Utah and other PTs and Jimmy, by far, has been the best person I have worked with. After a bad rollerblading crash he helped me get back to running stronger and with more confidence. I can not recommend Jimmy enough!

Fantastic experience: Having nagging pains as a runner is really frustrating. What can be even more frustrating is going to see a Physical Therapist and leaving feeling like you are broken and need to be fixed. What makes Redefine PT stand out to me is how personable and practical Jimmy is, as well as his understanding of outdoor endurance sports. He took his time getting to know me before doing his own tests and measures, and as an avid runner himself he had the ability to relate to my frustration personally, and explain to me what was going on. Being told that I wasn’t broken, but needed to raise my body’s tolerance to the challenges being given to it was the key narrative that allowed me to feel like myself again, even while putting in the work needed to get back out there. He uses a specific functional approach to what activity it is you want to be doing again, and you can feel his stoke for getting you back out of his gym. That is why he does it and you can tell. This is the specialist any runner or outdoor sports lover is lucky to have.

Fantastic experience: After years of falling short on a few big goals of mine, I knew I needed some professional guidance if I wanted to take my training up to the next level. Fantastic experience: I was about to give up on running and definitely couldn’t imagine hitting any of my goals until I started working with Jimmy. Id worked with some PTs in the past and was pretty soured by my experiences with them. It really seemed like the only answer was “spend x amount of money and visit me three times a week for six months and you should be good” Jimmy took the time to listen to what was going on and perform a real assessment. From there he gave me instruction and a program that’s got me feeling good again and the knowledge on what to do if the same issues start up again. None of the “see me as many times as possible and spend a fortune” attitude I’ve had with other people in the field. The guy is a well of knowledge and I’m so glad I have him in my corner. Last and only PT I’ll ever need.

Fantastic experience: If you throw your body at the mtns and it hurts Redefine is the PT for you. Jimmy is a mountain running specialist and is truly passionate about running in general. You can tell he is doing this simply because he loves sharing running with others and helping them continue to move forward.

Fantastic experience: Jimmy is awesome! He is function focused, takes the time to listen, and creates a plan that targets my goals. The strength training class is a super supportive and fun space to challenge myself with new ways of moving beyond running. 12/10 recommend Redefine!

Fantastic experience: Jimmy is the best!! His strength sessions are challenging yet manageable, and targeted to your specific goals (in my case running faster). Beyond just a tough workout, Jimmy is knowledgeable about improving endurance performance and preventing injuries. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I originally sought out Jimmy’s help after an injury during a race that lead to a DNF. Even though remotely, He trained me through rehab and building back fitness with a lot of patience that I did not have. I decided to continue with him as my running coach since I had struggled to train for both trail ultras and road marathons and he understood both. I really appreciate how he would adjust my training plan according to my wants and needs ( which are often times unrealistic..), work schedules, my physical status and any other thing that throws you off course. He is great at assigning plans by pace, effort and time accordingly. I am sure without his help, I would’ve been back in my over-trained injured self..

Fantastic experience: Working with Jimmy the past few months has really changed how I approach athleticism. Coming from a strength only background, he has been helping me poke holes in my game and rebuild me into a stronger athlete overall. I mean this from both an injury prevention and goal oriented perspective. Strength training sessions with Jimmy are challenging, permitted by his dry humor pushing you on. I feel that training with and being coached by him is neither old school, nor new school. In this sense the practice is aptly named… to redefine. If you are looking for a coach I strongly recommend setting up a goal oriented chat with Jimmy. He really knows how to listen and build programming to get you where you want to go.

Fantastic experience: I have struggled with bone stress injuries ever since my first marathon in 2019. After cycling through multiple physical therapists (and cycling a lot on stationary bikes instead of running ), I started to wonder if my body could handle marathon training. Luckily, one day I listened to the Strength Running Podcast on a whim and heard Jimmy's interview. His holistic, optimistic approach to running and injury recovery resonated with me, and it was a huge blessing that his gym was only one hour away from where I live! I've been to his gym only once in person, but that was enough for me to know I wanted Jimmy to be my running coach. He has been coaching me remotely ever since and is very communicative and encouraging. He has adapted my workouts when I've hit bumps in the road (poor sleep, a heel injury flare up), and thanks to his guidance I am now running 60+ miles/week—more than I ever thought possible for me. I am stoked to put my training to the test and finally run my second marathon this October. Hoping for a PR and even stronger running in the future! I now know it's possible thanks to Redefine!

Fantastic experience: Jimmy listens and addresses all my questions and concerns. I've been working with him for almost a year and I'll never not include strength in my running routine now. I've been injury free since working with him and when I did have a minor flare up he was accommodating and quick to help me get back on track. I can't recommend him enough to any endurance athlete. But he's also fantastic for anyone who wants to start a strength routine from scratch.

Fantastic experience: After working with many physical therapists over the years, I finally came across Jimmy and Redefine Running randomly on Google in search of help with a nagging running injury. Immediately after our first session, it was obvious that this was what I had been looking for: an approach that focused on proven methods where I would see progress with hard work and patience. After helping me with a few injuries it was obvious that I needed additional support to reach my fitness goals and that an individualized training plan from a coach would be the first step in staying injury free. Jimmy worked with me to increase my training volume safely and I was able to hit running milestones that I thought were impossible for me. Being able to have a coach that understands the latest in training best practices and injury rehab and prevention is an invaluable skill set!
