Cupertino Physical Therapy, Inc.: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Clean, well equipped facility. My PT, Stacy, was always on time, took the time to ask questions and assess my status/needs and then work on the target areas and provide me with straight forward exercises to continue the work at home. I also cannot say enough about the office manager who managed the insurance and kept me on schedule. Overall a wonderful experience and a critical part of my post surgery recovery. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: I’ve gone there twice now for 2 different issues. Each time, very professional, great treatment and advice with exercises I have been able to continue doing at home. Great balance of on site and home routines.
Fantastic experience: I received 6 months of physical therapy for shoulder impingement and very happy with the results. I worked with Stacy who meticulously managed my pain thresholds, movement & range capabilities, and then gradually added effective exercises. I started with about 60% usage of the arm and noticed steady improvement in both by strength and mobility. I finished with about 90-95% of being normal and pain free. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: I suffered severe pain as a result of a meniscus tear. I had tried several physical therapy places with minimal improvement, until I found Paul at Cupertino Physical Therapy. He is an incredibly knowledgeable and experienced therapist - the exercises he taught me to do are super effective, and never cause any pain to my knee! Every session, he adds one or two new exercises to further build up strength. I have had a total of seven sessions so far, and I am very glad to say I now can walk without pain! Paul is not only skilled but also empathetic, encouraging, and a great conversationist. I am very grateful to him for drastically improving the quality of my life. I also would like to express my appreciation to Katherine, the office manager. She is extremely kind, accommodating, and very responsive. She will do everything she can to help you. I will recommend Cupertino Physical Therapy to all my friends. They are simply the best!
Fantastic experience: Stacy’s physiotherapy approach was a game-changer in my recovery from Frozen Shoulder. Her deep understanding of shoulder mechanics and personalized plan made all the difference. After three different physical therapist in the bay I found Cupertino physical therapy to be the most effective. Stacy is very knowledgeable. She combined manual therapy massages with icing, targeted strengthening and mobility exercises that progressed at just the right pace. Her technique was always precise—she knew exactly where the pain is coming from. Stacy’s expertise and care helped me getting to full strength, and recovery from frozen shoulder.I am so happy I found Cupertino Physical therapy you are the best!!! I am still doing all the exercises and weight training she suggested and I am pain free Enjoying pickle-ball and Yoga !! Thank you!!
Negative experience: I was referred to Cupertino Physical Therapy by my doctor for urgent evaluation due to debilitating low back pain. I can barely get out of bed and was told that this clinic was the place to go. Unfortunately, the experience I had over the phone with Catherine (who spoke quite condescendingly) was incredibly disappointing and left me feeling dismissed. The scheduler told me the first available appointment was more than a month out, and when I asked if I could be considered for a cancellation, I was told no — that cancellations are prioritized for existing patients only. I explained that I had an urgent referral and could barely function, but was still told that follow-up patients come first because the clinic needs to maintain relationships with those already being treated. I was eventually told “if I get more than two cancellations, I’ll call you,” which didn’t offer much hope. I understand staffing challenges and waitlists, but it is unacceptable for new patients with urgent referrals to be treated as lower priority than routine follow-ups — especially when their doctor believes they need to be seen urgently. A system like this undermines the provider referral process and leaves people like me, who are in acute pain, with nowhere to turn. This clinic urgently needs a triage protocol that balances continuity of care for ongoing patients with access for urgent new referrals. Even a basic callback list for urgent patients or a designated urgent care slot each week would show that the clinic values timely care and understands that being new doesn’t make the need less real.
Ms. Mardini,
• First, we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing acute low back pain.
• Our clinic is not an ER/ triage center where we offer to treat urgent patients for physical therapy services. We are outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapy clinic.
• If you are in the acute pain/ have debilitating low back pain, and “can barely get out of bed”, you may need to follow up with your physician prior to starting PT for further evaluation.
• Our booking procedures are to make sure all patients have their evaluation and follow ups once we start with them. We are obligate to provide and continue care with our existing patients. Everyone’s need is considered and treated equally. Therefore, our waiting list is reserved for on-going patients.
• After a detailed explanation to you, we already offered to add your name/ contact phone number on our list if we have any cancellations.
Fantastic experience: Good, friendly staff. Stacy is knowledgeable and works with you to tailor your PT plan to improve the issues. Katherine is great at scheduling and very friendly. 5/5 would recommend
Fantastic experience: I brought my son here for physical therapy after he sprained his ankle playing basketball. I was so impressed with their professionalism and customer service that I decided to go myself to recover from self-inflicted gym injuries!
Negative experience: Don't go to this place, they are too busy to care about each individual, the exercises were not tailored for my conditions - which they never understand or care - the PT didn't remember which knee was in pain after 5 sessions, you can just watch youtube videos to get the same result. Also I'm frustrated about the billing, I sent them a payment through my HSA account back in March for the appointment in late Feb, they probably lost the check and the check expired (I know the HSA would send more checks if the old one didn't get deposited), and then they put another $7.50 penalty on me. It's not much money so I didn't argue, but going here is just a total waste of time and money.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been working with Stacy for about 3 months to address chronic pain in my upper back, neck, and shoulder — something that developed over years of desk work and playing badminton. I’m someone who exercises regularly, so I appreciated that the exercises Stacy gave me were straightforward and easy to understand. While she didn’t overload me with tons of exercises, the ones she did give were exactly what I needed. They work — especially if you do them consistently at home. It’s important to realize that real change doesn’t come from one session a week. You have to trust your therapist, let them fully understand your situation, and then follow their guidance closely. Stacy has a great ability to listen, observe, and tailor her advice to what your body needs. If you're dealing with long-term pain and ready to commit to recovery, I highly recommend working with Stacy. She’s knowledgeable, focused, and genuinely wants to help you get better.
Fantastic experience: After three different physical therapist in the south bay I found Cupertino physical therapy to be the most effective. Stacy is very knowledgeable about back and hip pain and strengthening and taking a holistic approach. I would recommend any postpartum woman to be evaluated and work on regaining strength.
Positive experience: Cupertino Physical Therapy is the place to go for pain relief, regaining mobility, and rebuilding strength after an injury. I had to find a new physical therapy clinic due to insurance changes and a previous negative experience. After exploring options based on proximity and online reviews, I began treatment at CPT with Paul for shoulder and arm pain. His treatment plan was highly effective—I regained range of motion, rebuilt strength, and never looked back. Even now, whenever I experience stiffness or tightness from workouts, overuse, or poor posture, the simple stretches and exercises Paul recommended continue to work wonders. Last year, I developed severe plantar fasciitis, to the point where I was limping and couldn’t put my foot on the ground. When I called CPT hoping to see Paul again, Katherine recommended Stacy—and it turned out to be the best choice. Stacy’s diagnosis was spot-on, and over six months of consistent treatment, the pain completely disappeared. Her prognosis was accurate and optimistic, which kept me motivated throughout recovery. Stacy is always punctual, and the entire office runs efficiently and on time. Their communication is clear, professional, and reassuring—making every visit a positive experience. While scheduling can occasionally be a challenge, Katherine always does her best to accommodate patients.
Fantastic experience: Shout out to the staff at Cupertino Physical Therapy. Eight years ago Paul returned me to full function after setbacks with a home PT following knee surgery. I thought I was doomed; he persevered. Within months I reached full range of motion. So it was an easy decision to return to the clinic following surgery on my other knee. This time around I skipped home PT and ran straight to CPT where I found Stacey who may be the most gifted PT I’ve ever worked with. Her massage/muscle release gives me degrees of progress at every visit. She continuously tweaks my home exercise program so I get the greatest benefit as I progress from walker to cane to independence. From Paul, the owner of the clinic and an exceptional therapist, to Catherine who makes an extraordinary effort to meet every client’s needs for appointment dates/times (while simultaneously clearing therapy beds, stocking supplies and welcoming clients), to Stacey, therapist extraordinaire, this team provides personalized treatment and the highest level of service. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: I've been coming in and off for about a year, working primarily with Stacy. She listens carefully to me, is very careful to create an exercise plan that challenges me without pushing me too far, and gives clear answers to my questions. She has really helped me a lot recently with some back spasms. I've also worked with Paul and Michelle on occasion, and they take very much the same approach.
Negative experience: This place was recommended to me from my doctor. Inside, the place was old with outdated equipment and the front desk woman named Catherine was very rude and arrogant to me. After 2 sessions, I had to cancel the rest of the appointments because of her attitude. I am stunned with the fact that people hired her to work in therapy. People come here to heal physically and psychologically, not to deal with her. This is very bad customer service, and I don't recommend this place to anyone..
Ms. Duong:
• We are outpatient physical therapy clinic where we provide physical therapy services. We are not here to heal or provide any psychological services.
• Your first visit was in April 2024. If you did not feel great about our services, why would you wait a year to put in your review?
Fantastic experience: Stacy’s physiotherapy approach was a game-changer in my recovery from rotator cuff surgery. Her deep understanding of shoulder mechanics and personalized rehab plan made all the difference. She combined manual therapy with targeted strengthening and mobility exercises that progressed at just the right pace. Her technique was always precise—she knew exactly when to push and when to pull back, preventing setbacks while maximizing progress. Stacy’s expertise and intuitive care helped me is getting me to full strength, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Fantastic experience: Came in with a dislocated shoulder injury and so happy to have found this facility. Came in with a ton of anxiety and worry about my shoulder, but the PT is incredibly knowledgeable and really gave me confidence in the steps I need to take. Really appreciate the work they do here!
Fantastic experience: My name is Mary Beaman and I was having a lot of pain and stiffness in my neck and back. My Rheumatologist suggested physical therapy. Stacy at Cupertino Physical Therapy has helped me so much. The pains and stiffness are gone. She has given me exercises to do at home and as long as I do them I feel great. I would highly recommend Stacy for back & neck pain, she works wonders!
Fantastic experience: Cupertino Physical Therapy is the best. Kathryn at the front desk is thorough and gets things done. She was a life saver for making sure my insurance will cover my visits. Stacey my therapist is so patient, and empathetic. Plus she gave the best massage for my neck after my surgery and gently introduced easy to do exercises.
Fantastic experience: My upper leg has numb and pain issues for many years. I started seeing Stacy late this year and the issues are gone in a few weeks. Stacy is very patient and knows the root cause and exercises needed to pinpoint to the problem area. I am continuing working with her on other parts of my body.
Fantastic experience: I got a left hip replacement almost 5 months ago. I’m only 37 y/o, didn’t have an injury, but had bone necrosis in the left hip. After recovering from the initial surgery (approx 6 weeks) I started coming to Cupertino physical therapy. When I first came there I couldn’t walk very well and needed a cane. I started working with one of the PTs, Stacy, twice a week. She has helped me a lot and has shown me exercises and stretches that have slowly helped me regain my strength and range of motion in my leg left and hip. I’ve improved a lot and now I only come in for PT once per week. I still have more to improve to get to my full recovery but I can already walk much easier without as much pain, haven’t used a cane in months, and can walk up and down stairs fairly easily whereas I was using the elevator most of the time in the previous months. If you’re in need of physical therapy I’d definitely recommend checking out Cupertino Physical Therapy; I’m very glad I did.
Fantastic experience: I went to Cupertino Physical Therapy after dealing with some sharp pain in my knee for a few months which didn't go away. After working with Stacy for a little over a half a year, I was able to get back to everyday activities like walking, going up stairs, and even some light strength training without any pain, which I had previously avoided because of the pain. Never thought I'd be so happy to go up and down the stairs at the office again. While I am not back to the full use of my knee (e.g. jogging, hiking) that I'd have liked, I am happy with the progress I made so far and Stacy gave great guidance about how to maintain my current level until I decide on next steps. Finally, Katherine at the front desk is the best -- she is very gentle and kind, and also helped me understand my insurance details since this plan was new to me.
Fantastic experience: The staff and therapists here are very accountable, knowledgeable and supportive. My leg is recovering day by day with their assistance and guidance. Thanks.
Fantastic experience: I began having pain in my right knee several months ago and my doctor suggested that I do some physical therapy. I hoped that I could rehab my knee back to normal. I began going to Cupertino Physical Therapy and have completed 4 months with them so far. I really like the work ethics of the staff. The front desk employee Katherine is very friendly and helpful. My therapist is Stacy and she is absolutely terrific. She has the professional knowledge and patience in helping people to understand what exercises to do to build muscle and to reduce pain. I feel much better with my knee and would highly recommend Cupertino Physical Therapy for your rehab needs. .
Fantastic experience: I sprained my ankle badly several months ago and came here for PT. Stacy was very helpful in teaching me the proper exercises to strengthen my ankle and posterior chain so I could return to activity without pain and risk of re-injury. Would recommend!
Fantastic experience: I ve done physical therapy twice with Cupertino physical therapy inc., both times my experience with them has been really good. Paul helped me with bells palsy. And Stacy helped me now with knee mobility issues.. I had a really bad time with walking even a few steps , now after therapy I am walking for an hour daily very comfortably.. I am grateful to both.
Fantastic experience: I needed to see a PT and Cupertino Physical Therapy is as very pleasant to work with. From the moment I called Katherine at the front desk, I was accommodated right away. My therapist was Stacy and she was very helpful in identifying the source of the problem and taught me many different exercises to do at home. After only 6 weeks I am feeling better than ever. Thank you so much and highly recommend this place.
Negative experience: When I first time called them, The front desk staff is really very rude and impatience , so I gave up.
Fantastic experience: Thanks Dr. Stacy. My shoulders are in pain and drumming in the right ear for years. Despite attempts with acupuncture, massage, etc, the pain has been on and off with the drumming persisted. Each month I have an average of 4-5 times waking up in the middle of night due to the pain. After working with Dr. Stacy for months, she identified my issues and introduced me different exercises to strengthen my muscles. While I still experience some pain out of the week, the drumming issue is resolved and the pain is no longer an alarm clock.
Fantastic experience: I have disk degeneration in my spine and so ended up with lot of pain due to more physical activity. I went to Cupertino Physical Therapy and Stacy helped me. Stacy is a very good physio therapist. She is very knowledgeable. She taught me exercises to relieve pain and not to get pain afterwards. She also suggestedgood posture. I followed all the exercises very diligently and was relieved of the pain. I would refer Stacy and Cupertino Physical therapy to anyone. Katherine who takes care of appointments and insurance is also very helpful. Thank you Cupertino Physical Therapy.
Fantastic experience: Stacey was a great therapist. My shoulder is feeling a lot better thanks to her exercises.
Fantastic experience: I visited Cupertino Physical Therapy for 2 months to treat my lower back pain. After two months, my pain is at 20-30% of what it was before and steadily improving. I have only good things to say about the folks here. Michelle was my primary PT, and I interacted with Paul on a few occasions. They're both very experienced and professional. Michelle is patient and goes through exercises and feedback multiple times. Thank you Michelle! Katherine handles the appointment, payments, and insurance. She's knowledgeable, helpful, and prompt. Would recommend this place 10/10
Fantastic experience: Great physical therapists, helped me recover from ACL reconstruction. Insurance verification is very clear and thorough.
Fantastic experience: Great staff! Really helped with my injury and made sure that I was ready for surgery. Always stayed positive and made sure I was doing the right exercises and helped so much!
Fantastic experience: Paul and his staff helped me recover from a knee replacement six years ago. Excellent experience! Patient, supportive, great explanations, and I got my full range of motion back. When I messed up my rotator cuff ice skating, I took the first available appointment. Another fantastic experience. Recommended!
