CORA Physical Therapy Downtown Savannah

Negative experience: I was made to go to this dump for over a month as part of a still ongoing worker's comp case, and I'm worse off now because of it. The photos posted on here aren't of the right facility. This place is gross. It's a small, poorly maintained establishment. -The equipment is old and looks like they got it from the curb back in the 90s. They even have a very old, wooden, dangerously unstable ladder they made me climb that would tip over on me frequently. -It's dirty. Each piece of equipment has a sign on it that says "Clean" and yet they've never actually cleaned anything between people using anything. There's was even a dead roach in the same spot for over a week under one of the massage tables. -John spends 98% of his day on his laptop. Not along side the patient making sure they're doing everything right. When I expressed that a lot of the exercises were making another injury worse, he didn't do much in regards to adjusting my routine. Now, in part because of that, my neck has progressed to needing FUSED. Thanks a lot for that. He needs to go.

Negative experience: I went to CORA for therapy following two knee surgeries. While my range of motion improved quickly, the quadricep muscles wouldn't strengthen. The apparent reason is that the kneecap moved out of alignment during the second surgery and the muscles wouldnt fire. I kept telling John Oviedo that my strength wasn't improving, and he would just shrug it off and would propose more of the same type of exercise. The office was tremendously concerned about booking as many appointments as possible, and didn't want me to leave for another kind of therapy that, say, a chiropractor might offer. I'm finally starting some PRP and laser treatments with a chiropractor after a needless delay of many months.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Dr John Oviedo the physical therapy session help me get back more of my mobility and strength in both my spine and legs I appreciate you Dr John for giving me knowledge and a physical therapy plan online to help me to continue to evolve. I noticed the difference in my pain and Mobility level after the first few weeks of the therapy allowing me to be a more active senior. Fantastic experience: John Oviedo is excellent. Top-notch professionalism and expertise. Has attention to detail even when multi-tasking with other patients. Easy to talk to without making you feel like you have to keep up a conversation the entire time. Other staff also do a great job and create a friendly environment. This is a great place to make progress towards recovery.

Fantastic experience: I tore my rotator cuff and then I tore my bicep.I have been pushed to get better when I wanted to quit. The staff is very knowledgeable and really strive to treat your needs individually to get you back on your feet.I would recommend everyone to see cora for any of your therapy needs

Negative experience: DISHONEST BILLING BEWARE: THEY MAY ATTEMPT TO ADD EXTRA FEES (after you pay your first bill in full) AND TO EXTORT YOU WITH THREATS OF HITS TO YOUR CREDIT REPORT. I visited this place while staying in Georgia in Dec 2020 and recovering from a shoulder injury. (they also have a nice office downtown) The receptionist was welcoming and told me they didn't take insurance but that it would probably cost about $50 for a one-time therapy for my shoulder. So I came for a session. At session's end, receptionist and therapist said the bill actually came to $95 because they used ice. Not a problem. I paid in full using my credit card. I didn't mind the slight bait-and-switch. I know they need to pay their rent, and Covid was tough on business. All good. The therapy was just okay, so I didn't make a follow up appointment. They called every several days for three weeks afterwards to ask if I'd come back, and perhaps set up a once or twice weekly routine. Clearly they were having a (perhaps Covid-related) problem running their own business. So they seem to have hatched a plan for more revenue from someone who had a lot to lose (my good credit rating) After I'd left town, they seem to have revised the bill and reported to their main office that the bill should have been $150 or so. Heard from the main business office this summer, during a conversation in which the woman in their billing department threatened to send my account to private collections unless I paid the additional charges that were never billed in Georgia and never explained. The result is that I now have a private debt collection for $40. This is not an accident. They misled, and then billed for services after the fact when they realized they had nothing to lose because I'd never be an ongoing client and the I had everything to lose so probably would just pay the extorted $40 $40 is not a terrible lot to me or many people who probably would have paid it. But realizing how dishonest and manipulative this practice was, I think it's important to be transparent about what happened and hopefully prevent this from happening to someone else. Honesty matters.

Fantastic experience: After my accident I was referred to CORA Physical Therapy Downtown Savannah. From the first call Wes was awesome. He took the time to answer my questions and where follow up information was needed he assured me he would get the info for me and called me back as soon as he had it. Then there is John the Therapist. Great guy. He assessed my injury and made his recommendations on the course of treatment. They were brutal in the beginning some muscles I didn't even know I had were worked. Treatment continues to be good.

Fantastic experience: I started physiotherapy at the Oglethorpe clinic with several issues, post brain injuries in a car accident. I cannot thank enough the physiotherapist who addressed my disabilities with knowledge and great results. I recommend my friends this location distinguished for its professional staff, and for their dedication to the patients.

Fantastic experience: Where PT's families go! I am visiting Savannah working on a federal project. While on a run, I landed wrong on a transition and tweaked a muscle in the back of my knee. It left me with a limp and not able to extend. Although, I have had knee surgury twice, my wife, who is a PT, gave me an idea what it was and researched where I should go. I visited CORA and worked with John Oviedo. He verified what I had done and gave me a routine. He also advised to run a mile a day to keep my wind but not to over strain. After a month of keeping his exercises and jogs, I started feeling much better and yesterday I finished a long, easy seven miles at 9:30 pace with absolutely no pain. Thank you so much, John!

Fantastic experience: We were visiting savannah and walking all around town, me with a pulled groin, at least i thought, but was a little worried it might be more. The young man in Cora ( i have forgotten his name) allowed me to walk in and give me a quick assessment, or evaluation which helped to ease my mind, in that it wasn't too bad and confirmed rest and icing would be what i most needed for recovery. He seemed to really care and was willing to just take me in as a walk in. So nice of him to do this without all of the usual referrals, paperwork and general red tape. My point is he most definitely knew his stuff and genuinely wanted to help! I highly recommend Cora physical therapy to anyone in need of therapy.. they really care!

I was told how often i needed to come, what their timeline for my healing was, what was expected of me (even at home on the days i didn't have therapy), and what to expect during the healing process.
