Fantastic experience: Rehab at this facility is amazing. Thank you and your team. I appreciate everything

Negative experience: Please do not send a family member or loved one here, this place is worse than you can imagine. They do not take care of people, my father has lost over 30 pounds within a few months, and was doing physical therapy when he first went in there, but they stopped doing it and wouldn't even move his legs or body around, and for the last couple months they haven't even been helping him shower or clean up or change his clothes, and now he can't even walk even though he could when he first went in there. One of the charge nurses in the daytime is very mean, scary, and heartless, as well as many other nurses and doctors there. Patients there are left for hours without any water or food, even if they ask for something they either never get it or it takes them hours to bring it. The doctors don't even try to help them get better, they just let people get worse. Even a few of my father's roommates had said how terrible it was for them too and they left in the middle of the night or as soon as they could. You can't even get ahold of anyone there, it just rings or goes to voicemail, and even if you leave a message they never call you back. Please don't send anyone here, this is a terrible place.

Negative experience: If it weren’t for the few kind staff who really put their heart into the work they do, I’d give this place a 1 star!! The food is was good when provided correctly and available. Be sure to be there in time for the snack/ beverage cart or the patient won’t get any!! Be sure to check air mattress valve as the beds tend to go flat and no one notices for hours!!! Also, from the time time a person is requested to help a patient and actual help- expect at least 1/2 hour to 90 minutes + before someone finally helps. Be prepared to observe OT and PT and make sure reports actually match a person’s skills or the reports will force a person out!!! Be sure label and take inventory of all personal items or they will disappear. Lastly, on day of discharge- read and only sign if the documents are accurate!!! Don’t let the reviews fool you!!!

Fantastic experience: Shear Post Acute is amazing! The care and attention from the staff make you feel truly valued, and the food is absolutely outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: While some of the staff here are truly kind and helpful—especially the nurses and nurse aides—unfortunately, our overall experience was not good. The night shift charge nurse, in particular, showed no concern for patient safety or wellbeing. My mother was admitted with a broken leg and a history of cardiac arrest. From 4 AM, her blood pressure never dropped below 150, and by 2 PM her heart rate had reached 148 and went up to 155. Her BP was 175/98. I repeatedly asked the staff to give her medication or call an ambulance, but nothing was done. After two hours of no action, I had to call 911 myself at 4 PM. The paramedics were shocked that the staff hadn’t acted sooner and were just waiting for a doctor’s order, despite her clearly critical condition. The rooms are dark, damp, and outdated. There’s no proper AC—only old evaporative coolers—and no ventilation. Each room has two patients, and the environment is far from what you’d expect from a rehab facility. It feels more like a shelter than a medical center. People constantly go outside to smoke, and the smell of smoke seeps into the rooms, mixed with the smell of unclean restrooms. I really hope the management takes serious steps to improve this facility. The nursing staff and aides are doing their best, but they deserve a much better environment to work in—and the patients deserve proper care and safety.

Negative experience: My loved one was there for five months, proceeded to lose 30 pounds within the first two months. The care by a few of the team members was excellent but the rest didn’t give a crap. My first clue should’ve been walking in to visit my sister with my children and seeing her laying in her bed, completely nude with a chuck pulled between her legs and bowel movement all around , So basically, someone came in there and just shoved a napkin between her legs and did nothing about the mess and left her there to sit in shame. My sister was disabled and couldn’t help herself and this place did nothing to facilitate that. I would not put anyone in this facility for that and for the following reasons, I would sit there day in a day out and watch them ignore people pushing their call buttons, listening to the cries for food or water, no response.. The food was atrocious, one day my loved one had a hotdog with a piece of bread next to it and a thing of fake juice, They say they rehabilitate, How can you rehabilitate on very little food, very little contact and terrible communication. The only reason I’m giving a star out is because there were a few great to stand out people, one of them being Pauline, she is excellent. But other than that avoid this place!!! They are going through big changes and it’s all about money right now. I was Warned by other people who live there that it was bad, but I had to see it from myself. Stay away! How dare a place call itself a rehab rehabilitation center when basically it’s just a way to shame elders. Thank you to the people who are kind And for the people who said they tried to help, but really didn’t you know who you are. Oh yeah, and don’t let me forget this. They don’t answer the phone ever.! And they don’t return calls. Like I said stay away.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about this place! My dad had colon surgery back in August 2024 and had multiple complications and was in and out of the hospital and had went to 3 different rehab facilities. It might not be the most glamorous place and the food isn’t the best but aside from that they have a staff that truly cares. My dad was a completely normal person walking and caring for himself prior to his hospitalization. He was bed ridden since the surgery in August of 2024 and Shea Post Acute helped him get back to himself and he is able to walk again!! I could cry. I didn’t think he would ever be able to leave there. Today he gets to go home!! I never thought this day would come. The staff at Shea Post Acute are excellent and took wonderful care of my dad. The PT was incredible and my dad always raved about how good they were. They don’t just check the box to get things done, they truly care for their patients. Thank you to the entire staff who cared for my dad and made it possible for him to return to his life at home.

Negative experience: The most incompetent rehab place to go to. Food is disgusting and the place is filthy, I got the worst head cold when there and I wash my hands regularly! To make matters worse you have to share a room with a stranger who will most likely snore like a bear, like mine did. I was originally told they have private rooms. Nope. Hard pass if you want a quality place to recover after surgery. When I got discharged and tried to call to speak to staff and the Director/GM they either didn't answer or when they did the extensions you get sent to by the operator just ring and ring or you get a voicejail "greeting" and they never call back. Hilarious boilerplate reply below 3 mos. later! Apparently they didn't read that I stated they don't get back to you! Total scam of a business!!! 5 star reviews are fake!! Avoid at all costs!!!!

Shea Post Acute Rehabilitation Center

Chad- We’re sorry to hear about your experience. Providing quality care and a comfortable environment is our priority, and we regret that we fell short in your case. Please contact us directly so we can address your concerns.

Negative experience: This place is so atrocious that I wouldn't even rate it with 1 star. Very difficult to get the call button answered. My dad went in and was put on the wrong medicine because he was diagnosed incorrectly. The water pitcher had dirty flakes floating in it, his linens were dirty, food was disgusting. He lost an enormous amount of weight. I witnessed the doctor order protein drinks. He got them only for a day. When I discovered this, I had to get the caseworker to order them again. I was told those had He arrived home dehydrated and with severe loss. I took him out early and was told I'd be called when the transportation company had picked him up. I got a call from his neighbor telling me they had arrived, but were taking him to WRONG house. I quickly drove to his house to rescue him. They also did not send any oxygen which he should have been on.On Super Bowl Sunday I was at the center and needed someone to help him. After waiting 20 minutes I went to the nurses's station. I was told they were short staffed because, "We have a lot of young people working here, and many called in to take the day off". My dad had to be placed in home hospice the day after he came home. He was in such terrible shape that he couldn't recover. I also was called to sign papers, but when I returned the call it went to a voicemail and no one ever called back. There were about 14 papers that came home unsigned by me. I've tried to contact the facility many times to express these concerns and no one ever will return a call. I so regret every taking my dad to this revolting place.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 for this review I would. Shea Post Acute, shame on you for not returning calls! I left 5 messages for 2 people that were supposedly the supervisors and no return call. Our mother was taken to the emergency room for a night and when we came back the next day her stuff was all removed from the room and a new person was in the room. We were never informed this would happen and personal belongings were missing. I do not recommend!

Most was adequate.

Negative experience: BUYER BEWARE!!! there is a major disconnect between the marketing and sales teams and the actual care teams. The marketing and sales teams make promises and statements which are not in alignment with the actual care that is provided. When facing a situation to place our mother who had just had a massive stroke, we were reliant upon the information we were given when we made the decision to place my mother in this facility. On the bright side, the physical therapist and occupational therapist are outstanding however, the overall care which my mother received was not in alignment with what we expected, based on our initial conversations with the sales and marketing teams

Negative experience: This post is difficult to write. We went to this facility with the best of hope that they would help my Mom. We were welcomed into the location which, once passed the front desk, is dark, dingy, smelly and generally old looking. My Mom had been diagnosed and sent here to gain strength. The staff was generally uncaring, rushed, rude and otherwise not around. We were here for a week of hell. Staff did not care about patients or their care. Techs were horrible to patients, getting mad at them, making you feel (and to some patients openly saying) you were a burden. My Mom's roommate was, I admit, extremely demanding, but still deserved respect. These people would speak to her like trash. A technician told her she "had wiped her own @ss all her life, why can't you do it now?" They routinely made patients wait upwards of 40 minutes to be tended to when you turned the help light on. In fact, when I went to get my Mom's things there, they had disconnected the call light for her roommate. The way they treat patients is appalling. I made a complaint by phone, twice, and in person. I never was called about it, nor had any communication about what I saw. This should tell you everything you need to know about the level of care and concern your loved one will receive here. I will say, not every person here is like this. There were about 4 staff members who truly cared about the patients here. THEY are the only reason this place gets a star. They worked hard, and cared. Problem is, 4 people for a facility this size is abysmal and so unfortunate. If you're given a choice of where to send your loved one and you want them to thrive and not feel scared or worried they won't survive their care, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. Our experience is not a one off. If you don't want to take my word for it, just go see it before your choice is made.

Fantastic experience: Was transferred here on a Sunday evening from the hospital. As soon as I got here there was plenty of staff and was immediately greeted. They offered me dinner. Food is good and they offer alternative options a la carte. Today is my 2nd day and I have been impressed. Very well staffed. Staff very attentive. PT did my assessment and it will start tomorrow. Had a bad experience at another facility and was very apprehensive. So glad I was sent here. I can already tell I'm going to get the PT that I need.

Negative experience: The staff is NOT trustworthy! My dad has been there for less than a week and he just witnessed a nurse/aid whatever she is sneak in and turn off his call button without asking my dad what he needed! He had originally asked for Tylenol and the nurse said she would be back. After waiting over 2 hours and hitting the call button 4 more times he caught this woman sneaking in and out of his room after she turned it off. He asked to speak with someone in charge and no one ever showed up. We specifically asked about the food and Cory said she hadn't heard any complaints. 100% lie. Food tastes and looks like puppy chow. Cory also told us there is someone always at the nurses station to answer phones 24/7. Another 100% lie. They tell you what you want to hear and don't act on your requests. My dads wheelchair didn't have foot rests. After using his feet to walk while sitting my dad got tired so asked a nurse for foot rests. She said she would have someone get them. Waited about 20 mins and see the same woman on her cell phone, so asked her again. She said she asked someone to get them. Waited another 20 mins and had to tell this male nurse "lets go get some foot rests". Went into a big room with lots of dirty, dusty equipment. Wiped down the foot rests because there was food, bodily fluid, some kind of nasty crust on them. Very run down inside. Rooms are tiny. Entire facility smells bad. Your family member better be mentally and physically able to take care of themselves because it doesn't seem like many of the workers here actually care about the people they are "supposed" to be taking care of. And be able to bring them food and snacks or they will likely starve. Physical therapy staff is good. Case manager is good. Good nurses are few and far between. Forget about the night crew. Just go to sleep and hope you wake up!

Negative experience: If you can avoid this place at all costs do! It’s a dog kennel for humans. If you have a loved one there. You must stay there for every meal and make sure they are giving them the care they deserve. Many times they didn’t give him the meds that he needed. They have NO compassion from the DON to the charge nurses. Instead of saying how can I help they say did you press your button? Or what’s up? They had one cna for 25 rooms at night. The DON stated that there’s no law on how many you can have on staff your loved one will ring the light and if they are lucky it takes 30 minutes for someone to show up. Then when they show up they will tell you they’ll be right back and never come back. I posted the disgusting food that they serve on styrofoam platters and plastic knives and forks. I heard people screaming for help in their rooms.I also posted my dads teeth that were never brushed and he was never shaved. I can go on but one last thing they NEVER answer their phones especially at night when you want to check in. I finally got my father out and is in an amazing place. Do your research and avoid this place.

Negative experience: Stayed less than 24 hours because my gut was telling me to get out. Dropped in a room with a dementia patient who screamed most of the night. By morning I told them I was leaving. Arranged my ride and was gone. Food sucked. Grilled cheese sandwich, runny pudding, no salt, pepper etc. Drink was koolaid. Found out when ride came that they had 2 Current Cases of COVID. Run far far away.

Fantastic experience: My Grandma had a ton of fluid in her lungs and heart and had to go to rehab to get strong again. Within weeks she went from, “say your goodbyes,” to “she is coming home soon.” Such a great experience. They really care for their patients and help them with their progression amazingly. Maria handled my Grandma so well and my Grandma loves her! Physical therapy helped her (95 year old) go from bed ridden to up and walking! Lastly, couldn’t have happened without Joe and his team moving extremely quick to get my Grandma a bed there! I would definitely recommend anyone’s family needing to go there for rehab!

Negative experience: Don't let your critically ill family enter this facility do your homework don't rely upon supposed positive reviews go and look at the facility before you let your loved ones transfer here. The food isn't fit for a dog to eat ,gross look at pictures would you eat that? Medication errors and an uncaring uncommunicative doctor, don't risk your family members life go elsewhere!

Daisy 3 years ago

Negative experience: BEWARE! Some of the 1-star reviews are true. This was not our first choice, but it was one that accepted our insurance. Unfortunately, the bad outweighed the good. The only good thing about this facility was that the physical therapists were great, helped tremendously with the exercises, and had good communication. The doctors were professional. Other than that, the service was HORRIBLE. Only one good nurse (who actually changed the sheets, made the bed, ASKED if my loved one needed a shower, brief change, etc.) out of multiple nurses for a few weeks. When asking about a shower it took a day or so to even get someone to help with that. There were a couple of primary nurses who regularly attended and wow, there were no bedside manners, no care or compassion as a nurse. They would turn off the call light and say I'll be back, an hour later no one. Again, push the call light same response from another nurse. My loved one was patiently waiting for a quick change for over 4 hours until the charge nurse came along and scolded the other nurses for turning off the call light without assisting the patient. Most of the time I went to visit and went to the nurse’s station there was a person just sitting on their personal cell phones. The food was hit-and-miss, portions were small and the basic toast was even burnt. One time there was just a sandwich bread with a lot of gravy that looked like canned vegetables.

Fantastic experience: AMAZING!!! I had the privilege of shadowing the DON (director of nursing) and team while completing my RN-BSN (bachelors degree in nursing). During my first communication with HR/administration I was told how much they loved students and boy did they deliver! I was welcomed with open arms and provided countless learning opportunities. I witnessed the passion and dedication everyone had towards the patient’s success. I exited that building everyday with the biggest smile on my face. After >10 years as a nurse myself, I have never seen the passion, drive, love, and professionalism I did with Shea Post Acute. In all honesty, I have a renewed love for my profession from the time I spent with them. It really does take a village. Thank you to everyone…. CNAs, LPNs, RNs, ADONs, the DON, Case Managers, PTs, OTs, STs, and administrators for an incredible experience. This community needs you and are so grateful for all you do.

Negative experience: Horrible workers & conditions inside from my inside investigation. Pill mill and employee rest area for sure. Reverse discrimination is still WHAT, just an excuse for something I haven't done. #####BEWARE UNHEALTHY PEOPLE, MINDS, AND ACTIONS IN THIS DEATH RESIDENCY!!!#### ‍♂️‍♀️ ADA policies not followed! Cancer victim's please stay out of this place, far away. Ann nothing blah!

Negative experience: My mom was there just to recover and get to stronger to come home but they put her back in the hospital on the third day she was there she was laying on the ground for 3 hours pressing the nurses button, yeah she definitely won't be coming back you did not help my mother

Negative experience: BEWARE! Shea Park let my mother die from sepsis. The Doctors and Staff did not take action until it was too late. DO NOT TAKE A LOVED ONE to this horrible place. Today is my Mother's birthday. Sadly our family can no longer celebrate because we thought it a was a wonderful facility. But they did not provide adequate care. While I was actively searching for a new facility to move her to, she developed sepsis and died an excruciatingly painful and preventable death at the hands of these people. All she wanted to do was get better and come back home with her dog Roxy. Unfortunately that didn't happen due to the neglect by the nurses, doctors, and staff. This neglect ranged from the theft of her belongings (even after death) to the constant fear of being picked on and ignored if we spoke out. I'm writing this so others don't have to go through what we did. Do not take your loved ones to this facility. Do not be fooled.

Fantastic experience: I have seen and heard of several post acute rehab facilities but there is nothing like Shea PARC. The culture is different from them all. This facility literally follows CAPLICO. The leadership and management exhibits a good role model and all of team catches that fire once they are in - unity, love and care. They have the expertise to train anyone who desires to venture into similar type of patient care rehabs. Our hard working CNAs and the nurses who truly love to care for patients are on board. We are a wonderful team and striving to maintain this culture all times.

Negative experience: Rehab team are amazing - they are a five stair team. Majority of Staff there are very nice and helpful - they deserve a better environment. Facility has areas of improvement - very old, no noise control (shared rooms were other person can have tv as loud as they want and left on late into the night), no onboarding process to know about how to care for the incoming patient, no process to share information between shifts (have to explain ur loved ones care over and over again), if call button isn’t working and you call for assistance they completely ignore you. Would not recommend this place for a senior that cannot take care of themselves. They would be in bed all day, without any food and wet all the time. I would come and he would still be in bed, food on table far from his reach. Throughout the day no one would come and check if he needed to be changed. I let person in dining room know to bring to dining room to assist with feeding, they never did. Whenever I would bring to dining room it was always breakfast/lunch is over or they are about to clean the floors so go sit in other room. Very disappointing for a place that is supposed to be skilled nursing. Hoping they see this review and make some improvements.

Fantastic experience: Had a family member have a long stay in the long term care unit. The staff was amazing and made it always feel like home for my grandma. Every time I called they were quick to answer. Shawnee, Bryce, and Erica the nurse made my grandma feel so loved while she was there. I would recommend this facility if you need a long term facility :)

Fantastic experience: As an employee of Shea PARC, I have to say that this facility is amazing. The staff is so loving towards one another and the residents! Shea has one of the best rehab teams in the valley who go above and beyond to push you to your full potential. The CNAs love you as one of their own…Making sure you are as comfortable as you can be, creating a home away from home. Whether you need wound care, IV antibiotics, or just some TLC while you regain your strength in therapy to get back home, our nurses will be by your side! If you need skilled nursing, or long-term care, Shea PARC is the place to be! Come check out our amazing culture Shea.

Fantastic experience: We had a family member who was in need of post acute care. We were very nervous as first because we never were put in this type of situation before. Fortunately, our experience was nothing but exceptional. Let me tell you when they say, The first impression is a lasting one", they aren't kidding. It all started with Zach in admissions. Since, like I stated before, we never had to be put in a situation like this before so everyone was on edge. Zach was so friendly and helpful through the whole process and it really calmed everyone's nerves. Then the staff, she was in and out in 3 weeks, and created a trusting friendship type bond with the staff who helped her directly. We would visit and call on occasion and all she talked about was how helpfull everyone was. Hopefully everyone can stay healthy, but when ever you're in need of treatment I would recommend SHEA! 10/10

Fantastic experience: This place is top notch, nothing but the best care. You arrive as a patient but immediately feel at home and part of the Shea family. Everyone is wonderful; from the receptionist, Diane who welcomes you with a smile, to the aids and nursing team, therapy team, case management, and all the way around including the housekeepers. Kendall and Lupita always go the extra mile! There is no better place for rehab and recovery!!

Fantastic experience: Shea Post Acute is a great facility with awesome staff. The nursing and therapy team work together to create strong & individualized care plans for patients to get them home and back to their lives or even to create their forever home on the long term care side. The facility is clean, well-kept and always welcoming with a friendly and diverse staff of healthcare workers. Overall an A+ facility!

Fantastic experience: This outpatient physical therapy practice is amazing! I am a physical therapist and joined my mom who has mid stage frontotemporal dementia. She worked with Dr. Jada Exstrom who is challenging her strength, balance, endurance and spirit. Dr. Exstrom worked on upper extremity, lower extremity exercises as well as core training and balance exercises. She kept my mom engaged throughout the session which is often times challenging. Additionally, Dr. Exstrom treated my dad for plantar fascittis which was so amazing. I cannot support this place and specifically this provider enough! Thank you Shea post acute rehabilitation Center for taking care of my snowbird parents. Two thumbs way up!

Negative experience: This place is terribly dated, in horrible working condition and is in dire need of a renovation. My father was given the wrong medication, wrong food and was frequently found wet and uncared for. I am frightened for his recovery. The therapists seem very nice, professional and capable, but the nursing staff is questionable. As a side note - what kind of hospital allows SMOKING on campus??? This is a HEALTHCARE facility. My poor father just wants to open his window for fresh air and frequently gets a waft of cigarette smoke. I would move him in a hot second if our insurance would only comply.

Negative experience: my grandmother was put in here after getting out of the hospital, this place is so run down. The staff have no idea what they are doing and literally look stupid & clueless when you talk to them. They do not take proper care of the patients in this facility, or give them the proper items they need. These are helpless old people that need assistance & in my eyes they are just there for a check. This place is extremely unprofessional!

Fantastic experience: Amazing facility! The staff certainly make it feel more like home for everyone there, than a skilled nursing facility!

Negative experience: Horrible. I had a family member there and the food was not fit to eat. One night they got ground beef, with a few beans, and a whole lot of grease. Breakfast was soggy bread covered In gravy and 1 piece of sausage. The sheets had holes in them. The mattresses were so thin you could feel the bars through them. A lot of the nurses were not kind, and got angry if they needed help to the restroom. They got mad if you interrupted thier chat session with a problem and snapped at them. My family member had a special need that they were supposed to be educated in, which was why this place was picked. All but 1 or 2 had no clue what to do, and when they were told, they didnt listen, or just didn't care. Or, again, got angry. I'm so disappointed in this place and will never refer anyone here. If I could give it minus 5 stars, I would.
