Negative experience: The staff does not take seriously the level of pain that a patient is suffering and on one occasion it took them over an hour to get the pain medication and another time it took 3 hours to get the medication for pain. I think this is unacceptable. There is a nurse named Michael who is a smart ass and does not care what the patient is going through. I think he should not be in the healthcare profession. I hope he finds a job that is more suitable for him

Fantastic experience: I cannot tell you how happy I am with the staff at this place!!! From the housekeepers, nurse techs, RN, PT techs, physical therapist, occupational therapists, social workers, management, and the doctors are absolutely amazing!!! I believe hole heartedly that with them all, I am walking and moving as good as I am because of the help, the encouragement, and the knowledge they have in helping patients!! Again thank you all WK rehabilitation hospital 1111 line ave!!

Negative experience: I knew it would be bad from the beginning. I was on 3rd floor (geriatrics.) Two or more older folk, on the floor the entire time of stay. I had an older women trying to enter my room constantly. She would think it was her room. That lead into locking my door. So I couldn’t get in and had to ask a nurse to open my room for me. I was only allowed on the floor I was on. We never went outside Which to me Clears my mind the outdoors are good for you. Instead I was stuck inside of one gigantic room with separate rooms off the main u shaped corridor. One of the nurses I talked too, told me to fake it to make it out, the day I got to this facility. I was supposed make it out of there four days before I got out. Unfortunately for me they don’t discharge on the weekend when all I wanted to do was make my life to go back to normal. Instead had to essentially play house to get out quicker. I was supposed to leave earlier a Friday. A random dr who is not apart of the psych ward kept marking me feel like a pingpong ball from how many days he told me I would be getting out. But he never spoke to my dr so I found out he doesn’t even know the policies of the facility, when he ask if I had seen my family. Of course I was confused when he asked that, because visiting hours were only 5-6. Only one hour to talk to loved ones who want to genuinely see u getting better. The dr I had I hate she talked to my mom ton the phone a few time my dr spoke English but was other ethnicity I couldn’t hardly understand what she was telling me have the time she was talking. My dr and mom talked one day and my dr took something my mom said. She took it the wrong way. Then made blatantly made me angry through a scenario to see if I would get upset. In which case, I got mad about it anyway. She pointed at me and said there, that’s what I wanted to see after blatantly trying to make me angry. Of course we are all human we all act differently and feel different things. But she orchestrated this scenario to make me upset. Then had me stay another night. Not only that they gave a pills to a medication that I am allergic too. The nurses were their with me every step of the way. All I can say for the dr I had, Dr Joni, wasn’t there to evaluate me she was there for a paycheck and nothing more I genuinely was at my lowest I’ve ever been and oh but of course the doctor was in there fiveish minutes a day probably only spoke for 3 mins. Not once did I feel not cared for at all by any doctor. They wouldn’t talk to their nurses to check in on us. I know the nurses cared. But the dr never asked questions from the nurses about how we might be doing. Seeing they were always there watching, talking to us and just generally being what it means to be a great healthcare worker in this day In age. We live in a state that genuinely doesn’t care how bad of a job the mental health care system is, and to not care at all about the wellbeing of our states people. this crisis is really bad in the northwestern part of Louisiana it has been for a while. We all as a population want to be our best self. But I know personally not a one doctor in this place not cares at all for it’s patients Literally nobody cared weather or not you get better except for some of the nurses like I had stated earlier. For the most part I felt worse being in there from trauma from another mental health facility called Brentwood. So being locked up and not having anything didn’t help. I also had a delayed allergic reaction to the only medication they prescribed for me. It’s been two and a half week. I felt as if I had been going Insane. I wasn’t feeling any better mentally I was breaking out in hives and hot flashing constantly all through the night causing me not to sleep well. But on the bright side the only thing I can say about this place is the food is decent. Never wanna end up here again

Negative experience: my mom put herself in here for help after trying to overdose, TRYING TO RECEIVE HELP FOR HERSELF and a psychiatrist tells her that she shouldn’t have took pills that “a gun and bullet would have did the job” absolutely disgusted at the lack of help the 4th floor of this place has.

Fantastic experience: Was a little skeptical and nervous at first because of bad experiences with other hospitals, but this place is like a palace! I felt so comfortable expressing myself to the drs. and doing group therapy with everyone. Willis Knighton helped me put on a fresh start!

Fantastic experience: This place was the best.Dr.B,Dr.Jones,entire nursing staff on 2nd floor n the techs were awesome n the therapists were great with me. I've still not gotten into an eye specialists r neurologist but that's not on them.Appts backed up for months..I wanted to go back but had to go back to hospital for that but until I get the scans n see the eye specialists I'm not believing it's even this thing called Sapranuclear Palsey that's like something from another Planet!!!That was 1st Parkinson's diagnose? If ur loved one is sent there you don't have to worry about leaving your loved one there alone for a night r just a break to take care of urself cuz there in EXCELLANT hands. Thanks to everyone that helped me and only trouble I had was myself for not listening n having to be on restriction from trying to get up when not supposed to..lol..and thanks for my friend who had my coffee ready after evening therapy.thanks again n I sent in Stars..

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff on the 3rd floor, nurses Chris & Corrinia at night including night shift techs were a Godsend , my day shift nurse Lillith again, Godsend , being empathic I feel people's energy and I felt nothing but love and compassion radiating off of them. It's a super clean facility . The doctors truly work to figure out your Medications. Nutritionists also feed you well and give plenty of options for picky eaters. I've been in several mental health facilities and this deserves 10 stars! Thanks for what yall do!

Fantastic experience: My brother's legs were swollen and enormous. Within two (2) weeks, with treatment twice a week (outpatient), he was able to walk better, wear shoes and jeans!...Thank You Willis-Knighton Rehab..Now, he's trying to get our 83 year old mother there so that she can walk again. Her legs are swollen too big to walk, and the dr's just keep prescribing fluid pills...won't work, and is NOT WORKING. Thank You WK Lymphedema Outpatient Clinic
