Fantastic experience: Sep 9, 2025 I had reverse total shoulder replacement. Receptionists were super, my pre-op nurse was supurb. Stays are always short, mine just overnite. The nurses and aids were awesome, prompt when called. The hospital was spotless. The only negative was meds were given every other hour. But I will take that one negative all day long if I get the care I was given.

Fantastic experience: I enforce federal and state laws that govern hospitals. I can say that this facility checked all the boxes during my two knee replacements. The environment was clean, staff professional and knowledgeable, surgical team skilled and competent. I highly recommend this facility and staff of professionals for any joint surgery you need.

Negative experience: My doctor/surgeon, his staff, and inpatient staff are wonderful. Unfortunately, I would caution staying in the hospital. I have had 3 major surgeries in my life and my experience there was horrible. It has been almost 2 months, and I still don’t understand how people who are in the profession of health care could behave so uncaringly and treat patients so callously. I will never stay there again unless I have a family member with me 24/7 to make sure I am treated with kindness and decency and can bring me foods that I can actually eat and are acceptable for people after major surgery. I did have a few staff that were wonderful but about 80% were not, they were rude and made me feel like an inconvenience.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing experience! I am recovering from an L5-S1 fusion which was done at Specialist Hospital in Shreveport, LA about 3 weeks ago. This is my 7th surgery in my 63 years of life and this one was probably the most complicated. The “360” procedure meant that the surgeon went in through my stomach and my back. I was told that a 3 day hospital stay would be expected and true to their word, the 3 days were needed. The entire staff, including the Case Manager, Physical Therapy Department, my amazing surgeon, Dr. Kerr and his PA Stephen Kay, and the entire nursing staff, were so kind and attentive. The care I received at this hospital was beyond exemplary. I was constantly checked on, assessed, and made sure that I was as comfortable as could be. The staff never just popped in and out, they would come in, ask heartfelt questions and listen to whatever concerns my wife and I had about the post-op part of my stay. The nurses! How amazing they all were. Thanks to Keisha, Farrah, Sarah and Tiffany for all of your incredible care. I highly recommend Specialist Hospital.

Fantastic experience: Those Ladies are More than nurses. They make you feel so at ease and comfortable. I’ve been there more than once, and I have to say that I never am afraid or scared. They truly make me feel cared for, loved, and like a patient should be treated. I dearly love those ladies and one in particular, Ms Stephanie!! Yes, it’s me Janet. I love you and what you do for me and others. There’s not another woman like you and the whole world and that’s what makes you so special. You will be blessed. Negative experience: 90% staff is great. Equipment,beds, table trays etc. terrible

Negative experience: I’m a travel sterile processing tech, I been doing this 4yrs. I have to say when I first started here on 10/30/23 I was so excited, cause it was not far from home. The staff I got along with everyone was very kind and helpful. Than on 11/16/23 I came to work for my shift and I came to find out my badge was not working, I than contact my manager Jerri, no response than I thought maybe my badge just messing up today, I walked around to the front entry to badge nothing, I than walked with another employee inside went to the dressing room to dress out. Walk into the department and ask the other employees have they seen Jerri, they all stated she was in decontamination room looking for me, went back to Decontamination room she was no where to be found, at this point I knew something was not right, Jerri was dodging me. I than came out to the hallway and seen her coming down the hallway and ask “ what’s going on my badge will not work, she had this blank look on her face as if she could not tell me, I than stated “ have I been cancelled or something and she said yes, I just walk away and said never mind I rather not no, she turn back and ask me did I see her boss Angie, I said no and walk away. This hospital is unprofessional and try to use their contractors to train their permanent employees so they will not have to do the work, than drop the contractor like a bad habit, had no prove of any kind that I was involved in what they said to my company and they are cut throat, I know one thing for sure I would never want myself or my love ones to get “Any kind of surgery here, word of advice be careful “ Bad practice. If they was under “Joint commission”, they would be shut down. If I could give zero stars I would, again the only great thing about this hospital was some of the staff. Jerri the Sterile Processing Manager do not even like it there, she always looking for another job.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely impressed. Extremely nice staff. Very nice large rooms. Wonderful kitchen you can go into and get al kinds of snacks and drinks for free. Very clean. I had a spine surgery here and stayed a few days. I have never found better healthcare.

Fantastic experience: I just had Knee surgery here. The care I was given was awesome. Always a smile on my nurses face, as was on all workers there. And I can't say enough about my doctor Lobrano. Oh don't let me forget PT. They where so careful but helpful.

Fantastic experience: Like to thank the Dr. Wadahwa, his staff, nurses, nursing assistants for such great care during my operation and hospital stay. The rehab department located on the 1st floor, is great to work with. The rehab department helped me get back on my feet and walk again with little to no pain.

Positive experience: I had surgery at Specialist's Hospital in October 2022. Nursing staff and physical therapist were excellent. Surgery check in staff were rude and ill mannered. 3.5 stars

Negative experience: I would love to give Specialist Hospital a five star rating, because the care I received from doctors and nurses from start to finish was excellent. However, it extremely difficult to get a refund from the billing department. I had to pay $900.00 up front, based on my unmet deductible. However, after insurance paid Specialist, my share came to just over $700.00! It has been two months and I still have not received my refund despite calling them several times.

Negative experience: Awful experience! I understand the COVID restrictions and do not have a problem with following the restrictions. But when you do not allow even one person to go in with the patient and you tell family you will update via telephone, you should call! Waited for over 4 hours before ever being contacted. A simple call to say the doctor is running behind or anything would have been nice instead of making family worry something had gone wrong!

Fantastic experience: My wife just had major spine surgery and the doctors and nurses have gone way above and beyond to help her and take care of her. We have had to stay two nights and three days and I cant say one bad thing about this place.

Fantastic experience: Dr Nunely and his team are A-1! I had lower back surgery Jan. 2018 and 3 level neck surgery Dec. 2019. I wouldn't go to no other specialist for spine needs BUT him. The nurses in the Specialist Hospital were superb; very attentive. In all my hospital stays (3 children and other surgeries), I'd never before experienced that kind of "bed side manners." Give them a try - you won't regret it!!

Fantastic experience: I recently had a fusion revision surgery to fix a lot of poor work from a prior surgery. I am thoroughly impressed with this facility! It's not just the surgeon that was awesome, it's the whole staff from every portion I've visited.

Negative experience: My 76 year old mother had a total knee replacement just a couple of days ago. I can say that her treatment with this knee surgery compared to the other one several years back are polar opposites. NO one assisted her with ensuring that she dressed with no issues or possibly falling. They sent her home with an ice machine yet NO power supply. Called regarding it and told will have to wait until MONDAY to see about getting another one. The staff is horrible in their treatment of elderly patients.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff. From the doctors, hospital, pharmacy, lab, billing etc... This place is STELLAR. I traveled from Houston, Texas for both spinal surgeries. I will do it again if any orthopedic work or attention is needed.

Fantastic experience: I received excellent and competent care from a caring doctor and all of the staff who tended to me in the clinic and the hospital. Nurses were willing to return calls promptly and were conscious of my safety in all regards. Thank you all.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would, since I can't I'll give a 1. The nurses were very rude and disrespectful to my dad who had major back surgery. They raised their voices at him a number of times. He was in pain and could not receive any pain med for a while after his surgery due to his oxygen. That I know was not their fault but how they handled him while in tears and intense pain was very unprofessional and made me regret him going there. I do not recommend anyone to this hospital. I'm not one to review these things but am very disgusted with this staff.
