Body Mechanix Physical Therapy: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I first met Taylor and Blake at a previous physical therapy clinic, about two months after tearing my MCL and dislocating my patella. It was the first major injury of my soccer career, and I was overwhelmed—physically, mentally, and emotionally. I feared I wouldn’t return to the field as the same player, and my outlook was bleak. From the very beginning, Taylor and Blake worked seamlessly as a team to craft a highly personalized and strategic recovery plan. With only a limited timeframe to get me back to full-contact play, they committed to seeing me three times a week and provided comprehensive home exercises for the days in between. As my knee began to show signs of progress, my mind lagged behind, hesitant to trust its stability. They recognized this and introduced targeted exercises to rebuild not just my physical strength, but my confidence. Along the way, they also addressed underlying issues I had dismissed as minor—corrections that ultimately made a profound difference in my knee’s performance. Thanks to their expertise and dedication, I not only recovered within the timeframe I needed, but I returned feeling stronger than I had in years. Their approach was never generic or rushed. They asked thoughtful questions, never settling for vague responses like “okay” or “fine.” They wanted—and needed—the full picture to tailor each session with precision and care. I’ve never felt so genuinely supported by medical professionals. I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without Taylor and Blake’s brilliance and compassion. I’ve since followed them to their new location for ongoing care—whether it’s treating my shoulder or keeping my legs in peak condition. Whenever I’m back in the States, I’ll continue my therapy with them without hesitation. If you’re looking for two of the most grounded, intelligent, and genuinely caring physical therapists, Body Mechanix is the place to be.
Negative experience: DO NOT GO if you are planning to seek treatment from Mark the owner. He is absolutely brutal. I have always been told that I have high tolerance to pain but with him I had none! I had a total knee replacement surgery and truly found myself crying/screaming begging him to stop each and every time as he was forcefully bending my leg to a level I could not achieve whatsoever! I truly thought for the 3 months I went there, that I had lost my high pain tolerance. I never described to my surgeon how he was bending my knee leaning his entire body to forcefully achieve more bending. I had a manipulation and after the manipulation - not because of the PT bur rather right after, I was at 100degrees. He would forcefully bend it to 125/130 while I cried/would hit myself due to extreme pain and he ignored my begging to stop time after time. I finally asked my surgeon if what I was encountering was normal and he was shocked then immediately told me to not go to him anymore as he sounded like he was torturing and as he said, PT is not supposed to be tortured - it is painful and uncomfortable but they are supposed to stop if you are begging them to do so. Well, definitely not with Mark or Emily - another PT that learned from him on how to treat patients. It is funny how when I started going to the YMCA to utilize their hot pool for walking and exercising, other customers there when they learned I was seeing Mark they told me how many of them had left the place because of how brutal he was. They even mentioned a neighbor of him/also friend of him, who after going there to be treated by him, ended up leaving the place as she could not tolerate the forceful way he treated her. I am now happily going to where my surgeon recommended me. It is not nearby as it is in Ventura (I am in Simi Valley) but it is amazing when you find being treated for 3 weeks - not one tear. Body Works PT is the best - Jeff, Brenda, Tod and Sam plus the entire team including Rachel the Office Manager are Atop PT place. When I arrived they told me the reason for my swollen knee is because by Mark and Emily forcefully bending my knee, they were irritating tissue and the swelling was never going to go down as it is supposed to. Since going there, receiving massages in the affected area and proper treatment, my knee swelling is started to decrease. I have now gained so much more bending - with Mark and Emily on my own I would not achieve anything pass 105 degrees, I am not on my own at 118 and after they finish their daily sessions, I am achieving 121. AS I SAID FIND A DIFFERENT PT PLACE JUST DO NOT GO THERE!

Fantastic experience: Excellent Physical Therapy office. Chandra at the front desk was fantastic and Emily my Physical therapist was great at alleviating my lower back pain. I would highly recommend this office!
Fantastic experience: Following a massive stroke and dealing with Chronic Inflamatory Demylinating Polyneuripathy, I was in a dibilitated condtion. I experienced paralysis, muscle atrophy a lack of balance and inability to walk. The experts at Body Mechanix work with me intensely and I am getting back to where I was pre-illness. I am driving again and doing tasks on my own without the need for in-home care that I was dependent on prior to my Physical Therapy at Body Mechanix. I recommend them to anyone in need of PT.
Fantastic experience: First timer for PT. Needed after knee surgery, and I feel like I am in very capable hands here! I have 6 weeks scheduled, and I think they'll be able to help get me back out on the trails and running! The staff are very knowledgeable and kind. I wasn't sure what to expect, but my first visit went great!
Fantastic experience: Was very pleased about a year ago with an impinged nerve. Mark and his staff were fantastic. Sadly a very over zealous desk employee proved herself to be extremely rude and vocal. As a matter of fact she defamed me and left the owner in a liable situation. Mark dealt with her. After the episode I cancelled my appointments and found another organization. I spoke to a lawyer; I decided not to press the issue, but had a very long conversation with Mark. He stated he had a very strong talk with the employee. I reported the altercation to Tri Care for Life and Tri Care West and requested to never be sent there again. As a disabled veteran I was sent to body mechanics for help. They were very helpful. As for the employee. Mark stated she had no idea why she verbally attacked me. A true disappointment. Except for one bad apple. Body Mechanics is fantastic and recommend them fully.
Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Body Mechanix enough! In less than 6 weeks, Rich helped me improve from horrible daily pain to rare and minimal discomfort. He really took the time to show and explain what the issue was and how to treat it properly. Thank you Rich & team!
Fantastic experience: This place is far beyond excellent! Say no more! From the front receptionist to PT’s being so much more knowledgeable than previous places I have gone and the PT aides. All excellent, all outstanding!
Fantastic experience: I broke my leg and after spending months with a different physio therapist and poor results I contacted Bodymechanix. Shane did an amazing job with me. The exercises he did with me got the mobility of my ankle back up to 100%. He is a true master of the recovery of the human anatomy.
Fantastic experience: Great staff. Great place. Great customer service.
Fantastic experience: I had rotator cuff surgery and started at another Physical therapy place. Big Mistake! After 2.5 months of therapy I did not have full range of motion and they released me with "at home exercises". I couldn't perform basic hygiene functions and they were releasing me?! In addition, I am a very active person who competes in various sports competitively and I wanted to participate at the level to which I'm accustomed. My first session at Body Mechanix with Mark I knew from the interview that I was in the right place. He asked me a series of questions before he even began therapy. It was a hard road to recovery, yet everyone worked with me and listened to my concerns. I also love that Mark allowed Eddie to participate during my recovery as he went through his internship. The 3 of us worked tirelessly through my recovery. I kept telling them, "You don't know what you don't know until you find something better." Body Mechanix is hands down a remarkable place to receive physical therapy. Thank you Mark, Eddie, and the delightful staff. I appreciate all you did to help me get back in the competition.
Fantastic experience: Great service
Fantastic experience: They worked with my shoulder and got me movement that I hadn't had in years. Staff is super friendly and I would recommend to anyone
