In 2013, after 3 failed surgeries with OTHER surgeons, Dr Davis and his team fixed my shoulder 12 years later, I still have total use of my shoulder again for sports and activities and better yet, no pain. They are my heroes!

Fantastic experience: This facility is awesome and the Doctors are amazing. They care about their patients. My Doctor listened to me and provided the best care.

Negative experience: I felt that I accomplished nothing with this visit. I left with PT instructions, and instructions to have Dr Assil perform another epidural. Setup PT next door (end of October), but nothing for my numbness and instability.

Positive experience: The medical attention was great. Kind, knowledgable help. Checking out had quite a long line and when I got to the front, they didn’t know when I was supposed to return, who I was supposed to see, and they had no prescription for which I had completely forgotten about until I was on my way home. When I called back, they were too busy to call in my prescription until after business hours. Nearly 48 hours later and I’m still waiting for it to be ready from Costco who claims they still have not received the order.

Fantastic experience: I am a returning patient but for another problem. Front office staff friendly and efficient. Back office staff professional and helpful. The PA I saw was very informative and took the time to explain and provided a good plan of care.

Positive experience: The scheduling coordinator was outstanding. But the day of my appointment the receptionist who checked me in was not polite or welcoming. Not once did she greet me or smile. Right away I was called by Mayra who made up for the bad experience at check-in as she was very nice. The doctor was very professional, knowledgeable and at the end of my visit I walked out satisfied.

Fantastic experience: Expertly diagnosed my Lisfranc Ligament tear. In process to follow up on CT Scan and most likely surgery afterwards.

Negative experience: They literally pulled me off the x-ray table after suddenly discovering they are not contracted with my insurance…despite pre-registering and supplying all my insurance info a week ago. They ran in faster than they would for a patient in cardiac arrest. Gotta get that money, though. American healthcare at its finest.

Fantastic experience: 8/15/2025 I desperately need emergency help for checking my big swollen hand showing patchy purplish. Dr Kari L. Odenath (PA-C, MPAP) diagnosed it, she pulled up my X-ray from Aventist ER hospital (was taken X-ray on 8/14/2025) she pointed out on the X-ray that there’s a fracture on my Thumb. She gave instructions for taking care at home. A huge thank you to Dr Kari Odenath for a tremendously rescued my injured hand by inserting my called for help between her patients that had appointment between 3:45-5:00PM. Thank you again so very much for your warm caring heart, your concern and commitment for helping me in my desperate seeking for second opinion to diagnosis my swollen hand became bigger and moved further towards my arm after in ER 8/14/25 In addition, I like to send my appreciation to her team in the office in Simi Valley .

Fantastic experience: I took my son here after he fell and hurt his arm. I was sure if wasn't broken and just wanted to get it checked for peace of mind. They took X-rays and sure enough there was a fracture. They got us in pretty quickly with no appointment, and then set us up for a cast the following Monday. It was an easy process for a frustrating event.

Negative experience: I went to get the ball rolling on my bunion removal, met with Dr Rearing I would like to add some context about how I went there with the missing tooth because I had just had a tooth removed and it was too painful to wear my partial. I also told him the reason why I didn’t move forward with my last podiatrist was because it wasn’t the right timing. I had just received my children in the home and I just think that it didn’t look or sound Aesthetically pleasing for him and I felt like he discriminated against me because of that as well didn’t take me serious. I was explaining how walking on a slight incline cause pain I was expressing in my own words obviously I did not use proper terminology or how the bunion really works I used the word popped out and his smirk's and his eyes rolling just was not it for me I explained in the past, my left bunion got more severe when I was wearing narrow shoes, and I attempted to pop my toe while wearing narrow shoes and caused the bunion to protrude out more that it was a very painful experience that left me limping for weeks so when I was telling him when I walk on a slight incline, my right foot/bunion feels like it’s gonna do the same, and I could only express myself by saying it felt like it was gonna pop out of place or slip out of place and slip back in and then be down for the count for 2 to 3 weeks like how it happened in the past with my left foot, I called him out on his his faces and noises of baffled that I am using to express my self and I said I don’t know what it is but me and you are not Vibing. We’re not clicking and he was just too stunned to speak and try to play the innocent victim. Talking about I’m really trying to understand what you’re trying to say. No sir you were gaslighting me! I’m trying to express how I feel. Long story short if you don’t vibe with the doctor, don't feel like you don’t have an option to get a second opinion move on and go with somebody who you can really trust.

From the call I made to set up my appointment, to the staff that checks you in , to the doctors that I saw, everyone was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable. I was able to get an appointment right away. They seem to genuinely concerned about your health. I have seen Dr Davis and Dr Idowu. Both are excellent. I would definitely recommend this office.

The only thing keeping me from giving the practice five stars is the wait time to be seen—nearly 40 minutes waiting after I arrived promptly for my appointment time. But Kyla made it worthwhile!

Then Kari Odenath PA-C, MPAP Came in without a wait. Charming, Intelligent, good listener and Compassionate. She helped resolve my serious issues and changed a med I was on and already I'm improving. Kari asked her assistant to get some xrays. It couldn't have been 2 min there she was with the chair took me to radiology and they met me immediately. Everyone involved was nice and professional. Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Ventura Orthopedics in Simi Valley. Their front office staff are efficient, polite, & always friendly. However, the best aspect of my visits for the past couple of years has been Kyla Hendricks, P. A. She is truly a consummate professional, & just a super nice person. She talks to you like she cares, & takes the time to explain every aspect of your treatment. I’ve been getting gel injections for my knee issues, approximately every 6 months, for about 2 years. Not just on my initial visit, but every follow-up, Kyla makes sure I’m aware of what she’ll be doing, & checks as she’s doing the injections that I’m doing okay. She’s simply the best. Her support staff are wonderful too. Emma assisted her when I was in this week for a left hip/leg issue, (again Kyla did a terrific job of evaluating/treating my problem, including telling me to get in touch if I wasn’t better in a week). Emma was just so great, down to making sure I had an appointment set for my next gel injections. Such a lovely, competent young woman. I could go on, but in the end I’m very pleased with everything about my choice of this orthopedic group.

Positive experience: I applaud the way the T.O. office referred me to Simi, and I found the P.A. who treated me attentive. I did not feel rushed. I would give her high marks. HOWEVER< I do 3-stars because I was not provided with any paperwork on my diagnosis, including how to proceed. I also feel that many of the points could have been on a printed form, with basic information and Q&A for my injury, then supplemented by anything personal to me. Also, the day AFTER my appointment, I received a silly email to prep me for my COMING appointment. As it is, the intake form I filled out in the reception room was much too detailed.

Negative experience: I love how you guys delete your reviews let the people know what they are actually getting into! Before you get surgery read this especially if you are young & active in sports! I regret getting surgery with ventura orthopedic they lie to you & tell you that recovery is going to be quick & easy. I tore my ACL playing soccer & doctor told me that id be walking 12 weeks no problem 7 months I’ll be back to my normal activity’s. Well let me tell you that’s not the case. The physical therapy next to the orthopedic office is a scam too it took them a month just to get me in & such a big & beautiful facility but all the PT employees don’t care about you they put on a act to just get you in & out as quickly as possible they only work with you for 15-25 mins than they send you to there non experienced assistants. Bernadette and Brenda are terrible people they should be ashamed of their work ethics & old school teachings. If you do end up getting surgery forget about this physical therapy facility, if you are lazy, old or just don’t care about your self this is the perfect place for you. Find a different PT facility that cares for your needs. My best recommendation before you get surgery is just wait don’t rush it. There is research that your ACL does heal! I started walking 3 months in & started running a year & half, I did therapy 3 times a week for a year at a different location which saved me & did all my exercises. What they don’t tell you after surgery is your pain will never go away it always stay with you everywhere you go, your knee will be different & feel very uncomfortable even with you are just resting & sitting, recovery is longer than what they really tell you, your knee will crack everytime everyday. I really hope this helps someone & your decision don’t let them take advantage of you as they did to me. Get more opinions from different doctors. God Speed.

Negative experience: Dr. Fealy is amazing. Incredibly talented, I used him in 2013 and 2014. However…. I’d give zero to Dr. Timothy Rearick if I could. Don’t use him for any ankle surgery. Bedside manner is awful and he will actively gaslight you if you tell him you are experiencing pain. I was referred to him by the ER in Nov 2023. He failed to tell me the injury was not a bimoellar fracture to my ankle when MRI CLEARLY SHOWED a trimoellar fracture and several osteochondral defects. I left a complaint with the office manager after he pulled up an xray and told me he wished all his patients recovered as well as me- a second opinion discovered the preexisting defects by another surgeon a week later that Rearick never repaired in the initial surgery. He never bothered to look so now I’ve had two corrections since then by a different surgeon. Check the difference between traditional orthopedics and sports medicine. Learn from my misfortune. Avoid Dr. Rearick at all costs. I went from trusting Ventura Orthopedic for nearly ten years to seeing the practice as morally bankrupt based on how he treated me.
