Fantastic experience: Newbury Park Physical Therapy has been an amazing experience for my 93 year old mother. Her visits are her favorite activity of the week. The friendly staff allows her to feel at home while she is strengthening and recovering from her injury. Bernie, her therapist, greets her with a warm smile and a nurturing, healing massage assessment. She always observes and inquired about my mom's injury and pain before prescribing her exercises and treatments. My mother considers her therapist a friend and would like to continue therapy with Bernie forever. Our experience at this facility has been a wonderful blessing and is highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with Bernardine! During my third trimester, I was struggling with back, hip, and pelvic pain, and she was incredibly helpful in relieving my discomfort. She not only provided targeted therapy during our sessions but also taught me simple exercises I could do at home to continue improving on my own. She’s knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely cares about her patients’ well-being. I highly recommend her to any expectant mom looking for support during pregnancy!

Fantastic experience: NPPT is an EXCELLENT clinic. I’ve been seeing the therapists at NPPT for a very frustrating, painful and chronic condition, and they were quick to assess and diagnose me and have listened to me and been extremely patient and kind helping troubleshoot my exercises so that I could make progress with the least amount of pain. The PTs are highly professional, knowledgeable, and experienced, and they and all the other staff there are extremely kind and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I’ve come to NPPT on 3 different occasions and my experience has always been positive. Front office does a great job of scheduling and checking you in. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I’m currently seeing Tim for TMJ issues and he’s been very helpful, my jaw feels like it’s loosening up and I’ve been getting back to pain and headache free days. I absolutely looking forward to my appts.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to NPPT for the past 25 years. My post up rehab after 5 surgeries has been my rehabilitations after surgery over these years. Every therapist has been excellent and their PT techs are educated and are learning from the best. Everyone from the office throughout the gym where they have the newest equipment, you can be sure you will rehab here, with kind, caring therapists.

Fantastic experience: Let me get the typical yet true comments out of the way. Newbury Park Physical Therapy has the best staff, cleanest facilities, and top equipment needed for your recovery. I came here as a recommendation from my mom and I can surely see why. The true testimony of what makes this facility stand out, however, is the clients I met every session. Being an open space I would get to see a lot of interactions between staff and other patients. Even though most people were in some degree of pain or discomfort, I never witnessed anyone that didn’t want to be there. Conversations were lively and pleasant and there was a true connection between the patients, therapists, and staff. It really feels like a warm community every time I walk in. Today is my graduation day. In just a few short weeks my pain levels went from a 7-8 to largely non-existent. I learned long lasting techniques to continue my stretches and strengthening at home and can review them indefinitely through the exercise plans that were emailed after each session. I have already returned to work and couldn’t be more grateful for choosing Newbury Park Physical Therapy as my road to recovery.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Newbury Park Physical Therapy — especially Tim! After a skiing accident, I completely tore the ACL in my right knee and partially tore the ACL in my left. Instead of surgery, my doctor recommended the Cross Bracing Protocol — a newer, non-surgical approach that involves keeping the knee locked in place and non-weight bearing for several weeks, combined with physical therapy. Throughout this entire process, I’ve been working with Tim, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better physical therapist. He’s been instrumental in helping me maintain strength, regain mobility, and rebuild confidence as I returned to weight-bearing activity. Tim brings not only deep expertise but also incredible patience, encouragement, and personalized care. I’m so grateful for everything he’s done to support my recovery. If you’re dealing with a knee injury — especially something as complex as an ACL tear — Tim is the absolute best. I wholeheartedly recommend him and the entire team at Newbury Park Physical Therapy.

Fantastic experience: After struggling with a shoulder injury for over a year and after seeing other Physical Therapists, Newbury Park Physical Therapy was recommended to me and they were amazing! Bernie very quickly diagnosed my issue and was able to improve my mobility immediately. Fantastic experience: After several months of physical therapy, with a low quality of care, I arrived, hesitantly, to meet with Bernie. I’m nothing short of astonished. I shared my goal of rowing a boat down the Grand Canyon in September, and I was able to row a boat on a mellow stretch of river for the first time in 9 months this last weekend. The journey is not over, but I’ve seen tremendous progress in my rehabilitation due to the quality of care. Newbury Park Physical Therapy has changed my view of the potential of proper PT. I would recommend this office to anyone, especially those who are reluctant due to previous PT efforts. I’m healing after 15 months of struggle and was able to avoid shoulder surgery thanks to this PT team!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to Newbury Park Physical Therapy for three unrelated issues. Each time I was treated by Tim Kuenn. On the first occasion I was having soreness and pain in my left thigh, likely from an old sports injury. On the second occasion I saw Tim for tendinitis in the right shoulder. The third time was a follow up to spinal surgery to address extreme muscle tightness in the affected areas. In all three cases, Tim did an outstanding job of pinpointing the source of the problem and, with a combination of muscle manipulation and exercise, all three issues were successfully resolved. In his work, Tim asks many questions to pinpoint the location and possible source of the problem, and to determine how the treatment regimen is working. I’ve been highly satisfied. ------ Fast forward to 2018 - seeing Tim again for another flair up of arm and shoulder pain caused by ongoing spinal problem. Tim is extremely careful to understand the nature of the problem and tailor the treatment and exercises to mitigate the pain and avoid aggravating the problem. Two thumbs up for Newbury Park Physical Therapy ! 2025 update - seeing Tim again, this time for soreness in shoulder following a skiing accident, and tightness in hip. About half way through treatments. Shoulder is much improved, weight workouts and throwing no longer painful. Hip tightness significantly alleviated. 2 thumbs up for Tim and all of the NPPT staff.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience at Newbury Park Physical Therapy! From the moment I walked in, every staff member made me feel welcome and supported. The environment was always upbeat and encouraging — it honestly felt more like visiting friends/family than going to an appointment. I worked with Bernadine Thomas for three months to rehab my knee, and I couldn’t have asked for a better physical therapist. She was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely cared about my progress. I learned a great deal during my time there, and thanks to her guidance and support, I made tremendous improvements. It requires a lot of hard work on your part. The Aids, Jeremy, Mark and Regan make it fun. They keep your visit flowing through each station efficiently and always with a smile. I've been seeing him for a condition called TMJ--a jaw that's out of whack--and he's shown me some simple exercises that I can use to help myself when our sessions end. If it turns out that I need more than physical therapy, I'll know at least that I've received excellent PT from Tim at Newbury Park Physical Therapy.

The front desk staff are extremely nice and helpful. They call you when there’s a cancellation. The other thing I appreciate is that they take late appointments

And the Bonus-I'm finally getting the help I've needed and I'm healing from a 10 year old injury..I am now snow skiing, paddle boarding, jet skiing, and working out PAIN FREE!! imagine that !! Fantastic experience: I am back to running! Bernie is the BEST! For over a year, I have been dealing with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. I have been running long distance for over 20 years and this was the first time I have ever heard of PFD. It was so painful that after 3 months of trying to run through the discomfort, I had to stop. I went to a Sports Medicine doctor and a couple of other Physical Therapists and nothing was working. After 8 months of not running, my Chiropractor referred me to Bernie at Newbury Park Physical Therapy. To be honest, I didn’t have much hope but I was at least happy they took my insurance! At my first appointment, I knew this was going to be different because Bernie listened to me! She took the time to really understand my pain. When I told her my back had been hurting for months, that was the first area she tackled. NO other PT even worked on my back! From there, each session she tackled another area to see where my weaknesses were. Needless to say, after 8 sessions, I was able to run again! It’s going to take time to get back up to 14+ miles but I am on my way! The joy I felt being able to run for 20 min in no pain was incredible, since that hadn’t happened in over a year! Before, I couldn’t take one step without pain. Everyone at Newbury Park Physical Therapy is so kind. I am going to miss going there!

Fantastic experience: my 1st time needing P.T., I have really appreciated Tim Kuenn as my P.T. guy. Tim has taken all the time I need to explain what he's doing and what I need to do to help the healing process. The staff are helpful and work with me to schedule or reschedule my appointments and explain my insurance coverage in simple terms. If you are new to getting physical therapy, you couldn't do better then Newbury Park PT.

Fantastic experience: I came in for sharp pain and numbness in my forearm. Now the pain is gone and numbness is minimal. Everyone is so helpful and friendly which includes my therapist Tim . It is great working with Tim because he checks in with me to make sure I’m doing ok during the therapy. Also the pain I was originally experiencing went away faster than I was expecting. I totally recommend NPPT !

Fantastic experience: NPPT is a wonderful facility! Physical therapy is not often something to look forward to, but I do here. They recently remodeled and the atmosphere is very serene. The front office staff is welcoming and friendly. The therapists and assistants are all fabulous! I highly recommend both Aarti and Tim. I have been to each several times and have been very satisfied each time. I sincerely hope to not need PT again anytime soon; but if I do I know that I will be in expert, caring hands at NPPT!

The people at the front desk are more than helpful. I told them hours I am mostly likely available. Connie called me back a week later when a slot opened up. That fit a better time for me. Fantastic experience: After over a year receiving PT at other locations with no success, I was fortunate to find Bernie at Newbury Park. She was the most knowledgable individual I had come across by far. She generated a program specifically tailored to my issues and spent the entire time each session helping me rather than handing me off to an assistant. She stressed the importance of a positive attitude and explained the process of improvement has a strong mental component. Bottom line: whereas prior to working with Bernie, I had doubts about ever getting better, I am now nearly fully recovered.

Fantastic experience: In June I had my second total knee replacement and needed to have PT again. There was no question where I was going to go having had such great success 7 years ago at NPPT. Glad that I did because the care I’m receiving is fabulous. The entire staff is knowledgeable, courteous, professional and fun to be around, but serious about the treatments they provide. Bernie provided exceptional care which is making my recovery so much easier (she also emails me my at-home app exercise schedule which is fun and easy to follow). My friends and family are amazed at my recovery just 8 weeks after surgery. Give NPPT a try for your PT needs. You won't be sorry.

I have had a toe surgery due to arthritis. He is addressing the issue in a comprehensive manner and treating other areas of the foot and leg that are being affected. Fantastic experience: Tim has done a fantastic job. I had hip replacement surgery 18 months ago. I’ve had mild to moderate pain with limited range of motion ever since. After 12 treatments, I now have mild pain with significantly improved range of motion.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at NPPT for over 25 years, since the days of Dan Dollar. I can say I'm with all honesty they have been an incredible office to be associated with in all these years. I have one chronic issue and several one time experiences with other body parts, same great care from the front office to the therapists. Since Bernie and Denis have taken over the practice things have not declined one iota! In fact they are currently increasing office for more positive experience for the patients. Therapist Tim has been my therapist for most of these years, but I wouldn't hesitate in seeing any of the other therapists. Newbury Park Physical Therapy is a first rate practice and one I'll continue to recommend. They have been like another family of friends to me. Fantastic experience: Both I (a retired surgeon) and my wife (a retired nurse) have had superb physical therapy care under the direction of Bernardine Thomas, DPT, owner of Newbury Park Physical Therapy. With Bernie's help, my wife recovered well from a significant knee injury, and thereby avoided surgery. I suffered a complication during extensive (but required) spinal fusion surgery that resulted in significant weakness and numbness of portions of my right leg. With Bernie's treatment both in her clinic and utilizing the home exercise program she prescribed, I have recovered nearly completely. Of equal importance during my rehabilitation was her encouragement and psychological support. Bernie helped me redirect my frustration and anger following surgery towards putting that energy into my recovery. My wife and I will always be grateful for Bernie's excellent care.

Fantastic experience: I generally don’t give reviews but Bernie Thomas, owner and main therapist of Newbury Park Physical Therapy, gave me back the quality of life I wanted so badly! I have had low back pain as long as I remember and done physical therapy for years. I must say, this is the first time I have had relief and actually felt good! In spite of being a senior, I have always exercise and taken care of myself, but the aches and pains kept on coming back making my life difficult. A good friend suggested to try Bernie’s in Newbury Park and I am thrilled to have done so. Bernie’s approach is personalized- she listens to you and designs exercises addressed to your particular needs. Tim is a pleasure to work with, he is very knowledgeable and conscientious. His explanations are clear and he answers questions in a way that is easy to understand. Despite seeking assistance from two other therapists over a six-month period, progress in improving my range of motion was minimal. Upon voicing my frustration, my primary care physician suggested exploring Newbury Park Physical Therapy (NPPT). Under the care of Kun Man Li at NPPT, I encountered a refreshing approach to addressing my frozen shoulder. Initially, I was hesitant, but within just a couple of weeks, I experienced a notable enhancement in range of motion and reduction in pain. Kun Man Li's attentive approach, coupled with her thorough explanations of the rehabilitation process and ongoing recommendations, greatly contributed to my progress. Remarkably, within six weeks, both my range of motion and strength saw significant improvement. Beyond the physical rehabilitation, I found NPPT to offer a distinctively welcoming atmosphere, emphasizing personal attention over mere privacy. Despite its open layout, the attentiveness of the staff, along with Kun Man Li's individualized care, fostered a comfortable and enjoyable environment. From check-ins to appointment scheduling and managing insurance matters, their personalized approach added an extra layer of comfort to my experience. Fantastic experience: The team at Newberry Park physical therapy took extraordinary care of me after a sports injury left me in quite a bit of discomfort. Bernardine Thomas was very mindful of my concerns that this injury could turn into long-term or permanent issue with my ankle and knee. After The initial consultation and review I was put on a therapeutic regime that included specific exercises to strengthen supporting muscles as well as icing. My appointments at their office was something that I looked forward to each week as I gained mobility, flexibility and confidence. Negative experience: One of the strangest reviews I have ever felt compelled to write. I was suggested to try Newbury Park Physical Therapy from another therapist that was to booked that I had used in the past. My initial impression was that the place was quite dated. Lot's of threatening signs that if God Forbid you missed and appointment you will be billed $90.00 and your insurance will not reimburse for the missed service. Also a plethora of signs saying no cell phones. The facility was also very open, no private rooms, no privacy whatsoever. I was not accustomed to that open environment. I was not particularly comfortable with a crowded area with lots of huffing and puffing as clients did their given programs. Perhaps I am a little gun shy from the covid days. The main reason I stayed was Tim Kuenn, my designated therapist. Tim was incredible. I always made a comment "you walk in with pain, and you walk out feeling great". The front office staff Corine Grace, and Sarah were all super helpful professional and courteous. Now one would think why give one star and a bad final review. I came for my scheduled appointment and made specific mentioned to my therapist IN ADVANCE, Tim, that I was expecting a call from my physician to discuss some personal matter and set up a follow up visit. He was fine with me getting the call. Plus I was attempting to be discreet and speak in a very low volume. This was a most important call to me. Perhaps I should have cancelled my appointment to receive the call, however with the $90.00 cancelation fee, plus I really needed to see Tim my P.T. therapist. I received the call and within a couple minutes this very obnoxious loud woman who has been a disruption to me since my first visit, comes over holding the no cell phone sign right in front of me, moving it up and down and pointing at it. I felt like I was being singled out in grade school. I hurriedly finished the call, which I later felt compelled to call and apologize to my Doctor's assistant for being so short. I was humiliated embarrassed and angered, in front of all the other clients and therapists. I tried to have Tim continue to work on me, however at this point I was too upset to continue the session. I got up and in a very stern manner addressed her to her face about just how loud intrusive and obnoxious she was. She would be speaking to people in a loud voice while walking thru the place. When I sat back down I asked Tim who the owner was and to my complete surprise it was the obnoxious woman Bernardine Thomas. I almost burst out laughing. I asked Tim if there was any other partners and it was another PT by the name of Dennis Dempsey. When I mentioned the incident to him, he was completely not at all interested in what I had to say. Needless to say they have lost what was going to be a very long term CASH paying client to join in their various aftercare classes. Plus I hope that perhaps the owners may take the time to read this, and perhaps learn some edicate in how to handle these type of situations. This review is like cutting off one's nose to spite one's face. I do not think I will find a therapist as helpful and competent as Tim Kuenn, however l am a person who is nice to everyone, as long as they are nice to me. Respect is earned not owed.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about Newbury Park physical therapy! I’ve been to many physical therapy facilities and this is hands down my favorite. The staff are welcoming and physical therapist Bernie is exceptional! Her treatments and exercise recommendations have significantly lessened my lower back pain! The facility itself is super clean, bright and spacious!

Fantastic experience: An amazing experience… my daughter broke her ankle playing soccer… Tim was able to get her back and ready in game shape faster than expected… he even taught her some exercises to help strengthen and hopefully prevent further injuries. Fantastic experience: This was my first experience with physical therapy and was very pleased with every part of the process. The NPPT team - from the front office to the clinical specialists to the assistants - were all friendly, knowledgeable, and make patients feel at ease at every phase of recovery. At each appointment I felt comfortable, listened to, and challenged to push myself in a way that supported my individual mobility goals and help me keep pace with my desired progress. While I’m crossing my fingers for no future sports injuries, I would definitely return to NPPT if needed.

Fantastic experience: Therapist Tim has been very knowledgeable, thoughtful about customizing my treatment, and compassionate in his care. I had never been to Physical Therapy before and didn't know what could be done for TMJ pain. This has been helpful not just for my jaw but also for my neck and other concerns. Fantastic experience: 6 months of Achilles tendinitis before finally listening to my doctor and going to PT. Newbury Park PT was excellent. Friendly staff. Easy to work with. Very enjoyable experience. PT was definitely worth it, and my tendinitis is now gone and I can get back to my life.

Fantastic experience: I suffered an injury that left me hardly able to walk due to sharp lower back/glute pain. After 9 days of pain and no success with a different PT office, I finally saw Bernie and left her office feeling AMAZING. The sharp pain was gone and I was able to walk, sit, stand, etc. with very little discomfort. She gave me some exercises to do at home and each day my mobility became stronger and stronger. Bernie and her team are incredible!

Fantastic experience: The Wellness Center is a part of NP Physical Therapy and Carol Carter is a licenced personal trainer. She offers individual and group fitness sessions, including senior exercise programs, for strength and conditioning. Her skills allow her to assign exercises specific to each client's needs. My improved flexibility and strength provide a better quality of life. Words alone do not express my gratitude for the help that Carol's advice and training offer in my quest to recover from injuries. Physical therapists and staff are knowledgeable, friendly and great to work with. Therapy and exercises have increased my mobility and quality of life and I highly recommend this team. Denis and Bernie are a wealth of information and provide motivatation to all their patients.

Fantastic experience: I have been patient at NP physical therapy on and off for 20 years for various reasons. Their professionalism, care and expertise are beyond five stars. All of the therapists are highly competent individuals and I would highly recommend any of them. Tim Kuen has taken care of me over all of the years and has always been supportive and has eventually gotten me back to complete functionality. He is truly the best there is in his profession.It says a lot when therapists do not leave a practice and patients continue to come back when it's needed. Probably having to wait to get an appointment says it all. It's frustrating to have to wait but great people in any profession are busy. NP physical therapy meets all the criteria for being the choice to make if you are ever in need.

Fantastic experience: I see Dr. Tim for TMJ and some neck problems. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Tim and Newbury Park Physical Therapy. Dr. Tim is thorough and listens to my concerns. Newbury Park Physical Therapy is accommodating when needed and they have and amazing staff which is so hard to come by in the medical field. I 100% recommend them if your need of physical therapy!

Fantastic experience: Love the warmth, care, concern, and knowledge of all the PTs there. I have seen many different physical therapy clinics. So many times I would go and just do the same exercise and treatment over and over. Every time I go, to Newberry Park, physical therapy, I am assessed and new treatments or different exercises are bought into my therapy. also, at other clinics, the physical therapist would only spend 15 minutes with me and the rest of the time it was a physical therapist aide. Here the physical therapist actually spends a full half hour with you. I recommend this clinic over the other eight I have been to.

Fantastic experience: NPPT is the gold standard for outpatient PT clinics. Highly trained manual therapists deliver quality care targeting the source of the pain so patients are able to return to their prior activity level or sport safely with less pain. The staff is warm & welcoming from the front desk to the supportive staff to the physical therapists themselves. They take time to listen to the patient & work closely with each patient to achieve their goals. I am a retired orthopedic PT & NPPT is where physical therapists go to get treated AND where they send their spouses/ partners to get treated! Just like everyone needs an excellent mechanic when their car breaks down, everyone needs an excellent physical therapist when their body breaks down. It makes all the difference in the world to go to the right place to rehab after an injury or surgery & NPPT is that place.

Fantastic experience: Bernie helped me with ten months of post-ACL therapy over the past two years. She is very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. I saw really progress in my strength and mobility during as the months went by and now I'm back at Taekwondo doing the kicks I never thought I'd be able to do again.

Fantastic experience: I am undergoing a very encouraging experience at NPPT following total knee replacement. Having started at 2 weeks post surgery, I can definitely see significant improvements after week 9. Dennis Dempsey has been a kind and firm coach and therapist from the start, guiding me initially through small movements I could handle, to routine interactive stretches where he asks me to recognize muscles and physiological responses, to now doing single leg squats and long stationary bike exercises. He has helped me through the pain with good humor, provided videos to follow during home exercises and routinely inquired after my well being at every session. The entire staff is warmly and professionally engaged with every patient. I feel supported by the whole team - they're effectively my therapy family and I actually look forward to my PT sessions rather than avoid them under the pretext of pain. Good luck to the NPPT Team!

Fantastic experience: NPPT is an amazing safe, clean place to get the physical therapy help you may need. During the past 5 or more years, I have been going to Tim for my ongoing physical therapy replacemet in leiu of more medication for my autoimmune disease. I have continued my treatment with Tim and the wonderful staff at NPPT even during covid. I am in the high risk group with asthma and am autoimmune compromised but I always felt like NPPT was one of the safer places I could go as I always saw the therapists and assistants cleaning and sanitizing equipment being used, tables and themselves (washing/sanitizing hands.) They have continued to do everything to guarantee the safest place for their patients to come and get the help they need. Tim is compationate, caring and listens to his patients. I highly recommend the office and the staff! They are amazing! Great job guys!

Fantastic experience: I was referred to NP PT in early May after suffering a painful and debilitating strain to the lumbar area of my back. At the time, basic functions like walking and sitting were difficult. After a few months of working with Bernie, my Physical Therapist at NP PT, I feel immensely better. She was able to build a routine for me that I could gradually build into, a routine I could do at home, while working on my back when I came in for appointments. I also like the app they use which allows me to access my specific routine when at home. Thank you Bernie! The staff at NP PT is also wonderful to work with. They are friendly, polite, and do their best to accommodate scheduling appointments. I highly recommend NP PT!

From my initial consult, I was struck by the impeccable cleanliness of the facility and top-tier equipment available. Each visit began with a cheerful greeting from the friendly receptionist, who took the time to learn and pronounce my name making me feel at ease. I'd never had to do physical therapy before, so I was defintiely nervous about the process because it was unknown. For this reason my physical therapist, Bernie, was the standout of my experience. Her unparalleled expertise combined with genuine compassion not only made me motivated to be dedicated to my own recovery, but thanks to her individualize care approach I regained full use of my shoulder.
