Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Dr. Van Riper. He took time to listen about my issues and develop a treatment plan. Felt instant relief after my first visit. He gave me stretches to do between visits. Felt 100% back to normal after a few visits. I would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: After ignoring tendinitis in my right hip for months, I sought help from Dr. Van Riper. He treated me with a combo of deep tissue massage, stretching, “shock wave therapy” and at home exercises. What an improvement in a matter of weeks! I’m back to full range of movement with NO pain, tightness, or discomfort in my right hip! Thank you, Dr. Van Riper!

Fantastic experience: Best experience with a chiropractor I’ve ever had—Dr. Van Riper did a very well-explained comprehensive exam and then made some adjustments. The decompression and electrode stimulation is something I’ve never experienced, but I was feeling much better when I left and I was able to sleep through the night without any back pain—getting out of bed the next morning was not even an issue. I highly recommend Dr. Van Riper if you’re experiencing back pain. My only regret is waiting so long to go in.

Fantastic experience: In February I was involved in an auto accident that left me with neck and lower back pain. My Son-in-Law recommended River Ridge and its one of the best pieces of advice he has ever given me. Fantastic experience: I have been to many chiropractors over the past 10 years in several different locations throughout the country and quite simply Dr. Ridgeway and Lani at River Ridge Spine and Chiropractic is the best. Since I have been a patient of Dr. Ridgeway’s he has been very professional, thorough, empathetic, and patient. I have never had a chiropractor who has spent more time in a one on one basis than him. Where as at some chiropractor clinics you feel you are part of an assembly line that is never the case with Dr. Ridgeway. I would not hesitate to recommend a friend or family member to Dr. Ridgeway. Fantastic experience: Best chiropractor in town! I went to River Ridge Spine with degenerative arthritis with so much pain. Dr. Van Riper set up a plan which included chiropractic care and massage therapy. The result has been amazing. What I appreciated the most was he made very clear what he could and could not do to help with my neck pain. Lani has also been fantastic. She listens to me and adjusts my treatment to my needs. If you have a need for chiropractic care you won’t find a better place than River Ridge.

He gave me lots of stretches and exercises to do at home to help my pain to not come back. Lani was also friendly and empathetic about my pain. Negative experience: My appointment was at 11:15 and was roomed without any discussion of cost or insurance coverage. The provider went into great detail on what a disc herniation was and how he could tell I have a sever herniation and one step away from a tear provided by my verbal description of low back pain . I did two simple hinge movements and a knee reflex test. He said he would need me to stop working out for 2 weeks , in which I understood but I did have an event coming and wanted to get adjusted prior to the event. He said his plan was for me to come in 3 times a week for the first 2 weeks, then we could go down to 2 times a week. All in all it would have been around 6-8 weeks of treatment . I hesitated with this length of treatment as I didn't know if for one I could afford it and it was a lot of time off work to leave during the day for 1-2 hours at a time 3x a week. He began to assess the low back saying my muscles are very tight and I would not be able to deadlift for 12 months. He began to ask me more questions about where the pain is and starting from. regardless of how I answered the question he repeated back to me what he was not what I answered but it complimented his assessment .It really didn't matter what I said he had it in his mind that I have a tear and the only thing that will help is his treatment along with no exercise. I said I have been training for an event for some time and its in 2 weeks. Its very important to me and I would still like to be able to do it or at least have a conversation with my partner that I would not be able to do it if that is the case . He abruptly stood up closed the folder and told me to move to the chair. He Then told me he can refer me out to another provider but he would not be able to treat me . When I questioned why, and at this point I had no idea where this behavior was stemming from . He said he doesn't believe that I won't withdraw from the event , and I won't adhere to his recommendations. I replied I have good intention to adhere, but I would like to talk to my training partner at home before I withdraw as the event doesn't have any movements that have caused any pain in the low back. I had ran a mile a few days ago without pain. I was fine with not working out strenuously , but I needed to have a discussion more about this. He told me he is the best doctor in this town that treats backs and he is the ONLY one who can treat me unless I wanted surgery. He finished with I can see my self out and to stop by the front desk before I left. This is an hour a half into the discussion . I was dressed in shorts he provided for the anticipated treatment in which I never received. He left the room, I changed clothes and I stopped by the front desk to be told I owe $130. I was so distraught and confused on what just took place, that I paid the fee and left. I have never felt so rejected by a provider and his staff in my life. I gave him no reason to believe that I am not committed to receiving the treatment , but at some point his demeanor had changed. This provider may own a traction bed, but his ego , empathy and professionalism are a zero. My husband called the office and said my wife left in tears. Lanee at the front desk replied we will take you off the schedule as well. Clearly this office has no experience in working with active individuals and is not interested in keeping customers . Due the fact they continue to delete my comment, this will now become a formal complaint with the board .

Unlike the rest who treated me like just another number, Dr. Van Riper genuinely cared about me as a patient. He then crafted a comprehensive plan tailored specifically to my needs, ensuring that I would be back on the path to wellness in no time. Fantastic experience: I am sorry for the longish review but I want you to know about Dr. Van Riper and Tina at River Ridge. I am writing this review as a fairly new patient of Dr. Van Riper. I had severe sciatic nerve pain over a weekend and I left a message for the Dr. asking for an initial appointment. When they called me back Monday morning they were pretty booked but after talking to me they could tell that I was in a lot of pain and they found a way to squeeze me in. Right after my first visit he knew I was in pretty bad shape and he recommended I visit the walk-in clinic and request some steroids to help with the process. I always find it weird when any business sends you to their competition. Through out the entire month I have been working with Dr. Van Riper, he has been very thorough and concerned about my progress. We made great strides over the month and he was open about telling me that more aggressive treatment at the hospital may be necessary. Just at that time I did a little too much yard work over a weekend and ended up worse then when I first came into the clinic. I knew at this point I needed to go to my primary care Dr. and get an MRI and the more aggressive treatment. This is the where Dr. Riper and Tina went above and beyond. I was able to get my MRI scheduled right away and was told that I should move forward and get an epidural steroid injection. Unfortunately, my hospital was unable to do this until the end of May. When I shared this with Dr. Van Riper, he was very surprised and said he would help by looking into other options. I honestly didn't expect that it would help but it was nice. I continued to work through my Dr. and see if there was any way to move this along. I was able to get an appointment to speak with another Dr. next week. At this point I was dejected but accepted that I would have to wait for relief from the pain. I stopped at River Ridge to share my MRI information with him and this is were I was floored by their customer service. They had called around until they could find a Dr. who was willing and able to do the procedure. They provided all of the necessary information so I was already approved for the procedure and my insurance was approved before I even stepped foot into this other hospital. The appointment was that day & less than an hour later I was done and on the way to better health. Again, I know this was long but I have honestly never dealt with any business in any industry that went more out of their way to help the customer than the team at River Ridge. I am still amazed as I write this review. He was even spot on with the diagnosis during one of our 1st visits before I had the MRI. There are a lot of Chiropractors out there but if you are looking for a team that is focused on you and your care, you must reach out to Dr. Van Riper and the River Ridge Team. Thank you & God bless! Fantastic experience: Dr. Van Riper along with his staff are absolutely amazing! The low back problem I had just lived with until it became too excruciating to ignore has now been solved. I cannot tell you how much relief I have gotten from just a few months of treatment. I am sleeping better and my posture during work has totally imoroved. He assesses all your nerves and takes specific measurements of how you bend and move. He makes sure to know just how you are functioning. Fantastic experience: I have been a customer/patient here for over a decade. (Pre-relocation!) Doc VanRiper is fantastic. So good I usually only go back for checkups, or when I do a dumb thing, hurting my back...again. The masseuse(es?) are wonderful at getting the knots out. The staff is great. I came out (transgender) not too far back, totally accepting.
