Franklin Hills Health & Rehab: Reviews
Negative experience: Try getting out of there if you still have money left on your insurance. They will withhold your medication and out medical help ( I e pt ) until there dr gets around to signing a medical release. To them Thanksgiving is a 7 day holiday. Mean while start attached to your insurance.
Fantastic experience: I have been here several times for pt and ot therapy. My experiances have been wonderful. The staff is excellent in their service and attitude towards the clients. I would recomend this establishment very highly.
Negative experience: This place is hell on earth!
Fantastic experience: Today was my very first day visiting Franklin Hills and I have to say it was a very pleasant opportunity. A very clean establishment and very friendly people and staff.
Fantastic experience: The staff was genuine and interested in my brother's well being. They listened to me and have his best interest in mind. I'm greatly appreciative.
Fantastic experience: Great Covid precautions in place. Sanitizer everywhere. All staff was wearing appropriate masks. The staff was kind. Noticed staff interacting with residents in a very compassionate way.
Fantastic experience: Staff was polite everything was great.
Fantastic experience: Excellent teamwork
Negative experience: I’ve been here now for a month. Rehab physical therapists and occupational therapists are fantastic. Staff for the most part is just ok. Don’t come here if you need pain management, meds on time, or need a call button answered. It won’t be done. Food here is beyond disgusting. They can’t or won’t follow simply dietary instructions. Either from Dr or Nutritionist. Weekends here are dreadful. Might as well be in lockdown at local jail. You can’t get a cup of coffee, or hot water. Ever!!! They have banned the use of microwave yet found no adequate substitution. Administration here is comical at best and quite frankly this place is close to pathetic.
Fantastic experience: I stopped in here to see my friend and it seems like a nice place! They were giving out ice cream and a cookie to the patients and they gave me one too! ❤️ Thank u for the great visit and for taking care of my friend!
Fantastic experience: Today I visited a friend in Franklin Hills, and the gentleman that brought me had a problem with his battery and his car would not start. So I came in and spoke to the Director who immediately got the maintenance person out there and they completely took care of the problem. They were very amicable and friendly and did a great job. The facility appeared to be very clean and I had a great time today there. I think it was a five star visit!
Fantastic experience: I feel my loved one is getting adequate care, and the staff is friendly and helpful
Fantastic experience: Very nice people and very caring.
Fantastic experience: The automatic system to allow access was super simple. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
Fantastic experience: Very nice people and very caring.
Negative experience: My Mom was admitted to Franklin Hills in May 2021 after an extensive stay in the hospital. She had multiple medical issues, and her case was quite complicated. Thankfully she was mentally alert and aware and was able to communicate every issue to me so that I could address them on her behalf. I’ll start with the good. There are some amazing, dedicated and hard-working CNAs that make ALL of the difference in the experience of a resident. I will forever be grateful for those individuals. They are overworked, underpaid and severely undervalued. There were also some great RNs, but it’s truly the CNAs who keep this facility afloat. In the 19 months that my mom was at Franklin Hills, there have been four different Administrators and I stopped counting how many Directors of Nursing after five. I approached every Administrator, Director of Nursing and staff with respect and clear communications in an attempted partnership to ensure my mom’s care needs were met. However, during her time at Franklin Hills, she faced MULTIPLE instances of neglect and abuse. At one point she was accused of lying and was gaslit-the person responsible for this was later discharged for other incidents. This facility failed to provide my mom adequate medical care, monitor health conditions, adequate hygiene care, failed to change or clean her after incontinence or provide adequate food and nutrition. The result of their neglect and inadequacies was multiple UTIs resulting in sepsis on several occasions, malnutrition, skin breakdowns, infections and mental and emotion distress for my mom (and our family). Her life was put at risk multiple times. We filed multiple grievances with the facility, and many staff did so as well on her behalf. We also filed complaints to DSHS that resulted in multiple investigations, with findings that resulted in fines. However, the ripple effect and resolution of the state findings was only temporary. My Mom was sent to the ER last week after they failed to provide a crucial medication, my brother had to insist that Franklin Hills send our mom to the ER. When she was admitted to the hospital she was diagnosed with flu, MRSA pneumonia, strep, severe skin breakdown, UTI and sepsis. How does someone in the “care” of a quality facility end up in that condition? My Mom was 64 and she died at the hospital. Also, be aware that many of the positive reviews on this facility are from former staff members. The website claims are mostly untrue as well. There is no enrichment program, no welcome program, no private phones and they were not competent to provide renal disease services. The facility is run down and dirty. The food depends on the cook, but the claims of enhanced dining with gourmet menus is an outright lie. There was a time that the food was decent, but on average the food there is not well-balanced, appetizing or nutritious, and portions are very small. This is only a small glimpse into our experience with Franklin Hills. If you or a loved one is planning on spending time here, or any facility, be sure to check in on them often and advocate for their needs.
Positive experience: Nice place to visit with your family or friends.
Fantastic experience: First day at Franklin staff has been very helpful!
Fantastic experience: Very friendly, and helpful staff
Fantastic experience: They always treat me as if I'm their family, not just a visitor.
Fantastic experience: My visits here have been very nice. The staff treats the clients and visitors with the utmost concern and attention. They care so much, it seems like family. I would reccomend this business to all in need of help getting better.
Fantastic experience: Very knowledgable of information of the position I was applying for.
Fantastic experience: The facility was superbly clean and all staff was friendly. My mother in law seemed very well taken care of and tended to.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly, and helpful staff
Fantastic experience: The Social Workers, OT, and PT at Franklin Hills were professional and compassionate toward my client. They work very well as a team...
Positive experience: Staff was helpful & explained things well
Thank you Florence! We appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your visit.
Fantastic experience: Today I visited a neighbor that is recuperating at Franklin Hills Health and Rehab. I hadn’t been there in 40 years! It was fairly new then and I was so pleased it has been kept in very good repair. I spent a couple of minutes complying with Covid protocols then immediately taken to her room. I spent about an hour with my neighbor, during which, dinner was served and looked well made. On my way out I stopped for a couple minutes to read about upcoming activities and then looked into the community room. Several residents were eating with a guests. The room was very pleasant. I’m glad that my neighbor is at Franklin Hills. She seems very comfortable.
Fantastic experience: My grandfather passed away here and they made him feel comfortable and at home. I love this place deeply and would highly recommend to go here. Everyone was so nice and passionate to the patients. They cried with us when he passed and have so much love for the patients. Again highly recommend.
Thank you for your kind words Natalie. We are so sorry for your loss. Grateful to hear we were able to be of service to your grandfather and your family during a very difficult time.
Fantastic experience: Excellent time ! The staff was amazing!
Thank you Jonathan, we're so glad you enjoyed your visit!
Positive experience: My visit was great. The staff were very friendly.
Fantastic experience: My mom has been there for over 14 years. It has basically been her home. She developed vascular dementia and as of this writing, has anywhere from hours to a few days left. The staff has been extremely sensitive to our requests.
Negative experience: I would give zero stars if it was possible. This review has been edited to protect those involved but I would not send my loved ones, or anyone to Franklin Hills.
Kristina, that is a very serious accusation. We care deeply about the well-being of our residents and strive to promptly address any concerns brought to our attention. We hope you would speak to the Director of Nursing or the Administrator to give us an opportunity to resolve any problems. When we checked our visitor log for the past twelve months we couldn't find any record of you ever being in the building. Please feel free to stop by and speak with us.
Negative experience: Do not under any circumstances trust the care of your loved ones here. Do not
Patti, we really enjoyed having your mom with us and were sorry to hear of her decline after she left with you. Please feel free to come in to discuss your concerns with us.
Fantastic experience: I gave them 4 star, but I want to increase their rating, since last month. The kitchen Manager quit, and now the food is better tasting. The food is more like home style. Thank you to the Management.
Fantastic experience: Very nice place, well organized and professional services, I am impressed with checking in process and environment .
Thank you Andy!
Positive experience: I love this place. It has made a huge turn around. The staff is amazing and you can tell everyone really cares about the residents and co-workers. I would highly recommend them.
Natalie, - thank you so much for your 4 star review - it is much appreciated. We are really trying hard to make a difference.
Fantastic experience: The staff is excellent and has provided good communication throughout the Covid pandemic. The facility is clean, and my mom is happy to be living there. She feels like the staff are extended family members. What more could I ask for.
Fantastic experience: This place is amazing - I have heard a few not so good things but found them not to be true. Most of the negativity you here is from former disgruntled employees who walked off the job or did not finish their notice. The people here work really hard at making a difference for the people they care for. Thank you to all those who work at Franklin Hills. You can definitely see the difference.
Fantastic experience: As the DON at Franklin Hills for nearly a year I can sincerely say this is one of the best groups of people I’ve ever worked with. Their hearts and actions are so genuine and intentions are well. I’ve very much appreciated the team’s patience with my adjusting to long-term care. The corporate leadership is extremely supportive of the teams and dedicated to continuing the care we provide for our residents in addition to building positive relationships within the community we serve. It’s been a privilege working for this company and with this team to care for such a vulnerable, and valued, population.
Fantastic experience: I have been here for over a year now and it is amazing the improvement that has happened in the past few months. The staff here really cares about the residents and truly want to make a difference. They love what they do and it shows in the work.
Negative experience: They done deserve to be open. They left my grandma for over 5 hrs at a time without checking on her. She had a stroke and could talk so she could complain or say what she needed. Didnt feed her for days because they didnt order her food because she was on a feeding tube. Her health from this facility went so down hill that they killed her. So please dont put ur loves ones in there.
Negative experience: Giving you a one star out of five is more than you deserve. This is the absolutely worst place as Hell on earth for anybody to attend or visit. Most of the staff are incompetent and the rest of them don’t know what they are doing. On discharge day my wife was given some other patients paperwork!! This is a clear violation of HIPPA law and we are just started regarding violations and law suites. This facility stinks and reeks of rat waste...
Fantastic experience: Have been working for Franklin Hills for just under a year, this company has made some great improvements and strives to do the best they can for the residents. LOVE it!!
Fantastic experience: I've worked at Franklin through good times and bad. Working in a skilled nursing facility takes a great team and solid leadership which Franklin currently has and it shows in the care the residents receive.
Fantastic experience: I’ve worked at Franklin Hills almost a year, and the changes I have seen in that time are second to none. Service excellence is the driving force behind every thing they do, and every decision they make. When you walk through the door it doesn’t matter what your name tag says, we are all there for the same reason. The residents. The goal is to give them the best experience possible. That is their home, and we are family.
Fantastic experience: I have been working at Franklin for 5 months! We have a great team working hard to care for our residents the way we would like to be cared for. This past year Franklin, as a building, has been transitioning to build a motivated, care-focused administrative team that can support our caregivers, nursing staff, and residents and it shows. We are excited to offer long-term and short-term rehabilitative stays to those who need us and hope to continue to attract staff who share our focus. 10/10 would recommend!
Positive experience: I was at Franklin Hills Care facility this morning for about 2 hours visiting a patient and was pleasantly surprised! I had read the reviews and prepared for the worst. But it wasn't at all. The staff were all very nice and helpful as I spoke with several people. The housekeeping appeared to be good and clean. My friend said she was comfortable and content. Holiday decorations were lovely. So far so good. I'll post again if I see otherwise or better!
Negative experience: If you care about your family members. Don’t send them here.
Negative experience: I am a CNA student, but have 4 years of long term care experience, 3 as a caregiver. We had administration from Franklin Hills come visit my class to give information and to provide a recruitment opportunity for us once we have completed our course and received the proper licensure/certification. I called and spoke with that same administrative representative who visited my class and scheduled to meet with her to see the facility, as she offered to everyone in my class to do so. Come the day of this meeting with her I was sick so I called in to speak with the individual directly. The person who answered the phone notified me that this specific individual was not in that day, but she could leave her a message. I had said to her, "oh, I had spoke with her on the phone last week and scheduled a time to come in to talk and tour with her this afternoon. But I am calling to cancel as I happen to be sick." As I was speaking the person on the phone kept trying to talk over me. Not impressed with either their customer service, but they are clearly disorganized and have a lack of communication and scheduling skills. If I could, I wouldn't give them a star at all.
Negative experience: Very dirty unprofessional in stinky the employee are rude please don't send any one you love there
Negative experience: This is what Medicaid does for the poor and handicapped has for choice! The worst place ever!
Negative experience: Horrible management. Disorganized, understaffed, no direction, poor food quality (not enough food offered) what is wrong with this world that places like this exist? unclean/ungroomed residents....I didn't know to laugh or cry because I felt like I was in the twilight zone.
Positive experience: I was 25 and unable to walk because of a horrible car accident I was in,staff was some days bad at giving patients meds on time or any that day,cna tried to help as many patients as they can but with being understaffed it was a hit or miss on who they helped. I felt because i was the youngest patient there at the time I felt as if I was buggy because I'm able to speak my mind I don't feel it's right for staff to make there patients feel scared to ask for help when needed no matter how many times they need it. As soon as I was able to take over night visits to my mom's or family's I definitely spent as much time as I could home. It's stinky, feels very lonely and not lively there I believe any kind of activity s for the patients other than p.t would definitely make it more comfortable. I've seen older patients be some what neglected and sad because if I could help I would. Needs huge improvement most definitely and I know staff tries the ones who have a heart but others not so much. Hint hint Nurses...
Negative experience: My father is staying here and he is not happy, nor am I , late meds, not changing his bandages, hooks up up to iv late, really bland food, and all the nurse's do is stand around the desk and talk
Negative experience: Pretty unimpressed with the facility right now. It's always hard to get ahold of my grandmother there. Will be put in hold for several minutes then they come back saying shes sleeping. Currently I've been calling for 3 days and have been put on hold each time, one time so long it went to voicemail. Currently my mother called through has been on hold for 23 minutes. I called in got to some rude lady on the phone who I explained we have been calling for days trying to get ahold of my grandmother, and how my mother is on hold for a very long time with no explanation. They were very rude. They said my Grandmother was sleeping with no acknowledgement that we've been trying to contact a loved one for 72 hours and the fact that my mother is still on hold and no one has let her know that my grandmother is sleeping. I will be making the hour drive in tomorrow to check on her in person and speak with higher personal.
Fantastic experience: Great services awesome team
Fantastic experience: Great services awesome team
Negative experience: the worse place to send anyone. don't give care don't give meds and give rotted food and out dated milk, and juice. I would NEVER SEND A FAMILY MEMEBER HERE STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE.
