Mercy Medical Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: In March 18 of 2025 I was rushed to Mercy Hospital in Springfield Massachusetts where I arrived non responsive with no gag reflex after taking over 600 prescription pills five bottles of medications. They intubated me and aspirated me and I caught pneumonia and a UTI from also being catheterized both ways. I spent two weeks in Mercy ICU before I was transferred out to MiraVista. I have absolutely no records in MyChart of my time in Mercy Hospital and Every hospital I go to calls my visit to Mercy Hospital in Springfield Massachusetts just one of my delusions....... Happy to be alive but mad that I cannot show any hospital records before May....
Thank you for your feedback. Patient care is our top priority, and we do all that we can to provide the very best experience.
Fantastic experience: Giving a 5 star specifically for Dr. De La Guardia. He's attentive, sympathetic & treated me like a human being. Overall a very gd Dr. We need more Dr's like him! ⭐️

Negative experience: Was a visitor here, security stated they could not assist with a jump to my disabled vehicle in the parking lot. I even have cables, am left trying to get help at night in the cold.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE. MALPRACTICE. Told my step mom her cat scan was clear and 6 months later she complained to Baystate for the same abdominal pain. Baystate reviewed her scan (from mercy) and said that mercy should’ve NEVER said the scan was clean. Baystate diagnosed her with STAGE 4 ovarian cancer. Do not go here at any cost

Fantastic experience: Very nice. Helpful.
Thank you for your feedback. Patient care is our top priority, and we do all that we can to provide the very best experience.
Negative experience: Came to have our Baby Boy delivered and had to be transferred to Baystate 3 hours later because of a shortage in staff and we are not happy. This place is a JOKE.

Negative experience: “Dr.” Ruth Gordon has terrible bedside manner for an emergency doctor. Treated me terribly, with an attitude and very dismissive after being sent there by my primary care doctor which is also part of Trinity. She is the epitome of what is wrong with the medical field but obviously all that Trinity can afford. I was shocked she was even a doctor based on her sloppy appearance. Will happily dish out “migraine cocktails” for a 3/10 headache, but dismisses concerning symptoms (concerning enough for primary care to send me there). Rude, would ask me a question but barely let me answer it before she continued being rude and speaking over me. After expressing to her directly how awful her bedside manner was and that I would leave AT HER ADVICE, she tried to back peddle and pretend she didn’t just do so. Writes an after visit summary detailing “LEFT AGAINST ADVICE” which is absolutely inaccurate and not the case at all. Just part of covering her butt. The entire time spent with her was condescending & asking me WHY did your doctor send you here. I repeatedly told her why but she continued to ask me over and over again while rolling her eyes. She said she would “order the CT ‘IF’ I want her to” but he could just order it outpatient. It was “VERY UNLIKELY” that anything was wrong based on the half-assed “tests” she performed and my “age”. When I said I would like to err on the side of caution- she proceeded to repeatedly tell me how long I would be waiting to get it done. “But ‘IF’ I want it, she will do it.” She was doing anything in her power to get rid of me. Funny, the triage nurse allowed my husband in to a space MUCH smaller than hers, but this unprofessional and cocky (for no reason) lady refused to let my husband in. Begs the question of why? So she can treat people like crap and get away with it when they’re vulnerable? Do better. Be a better human. Stop using patronizing, psychology 101 phrases on people seeking medical care when you realize you can’t play mental gymnastics with them. YOU’RE IN THE WRONG FIELD, YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO WANT TO HELP PEOPLE. go dish out more narcotics to the people with hang nails waiting in the lobby. Clearly your forte.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful, professional people work very hard here! I thank them for all they have done and continue doing! Do not sell out to baystate!
Thank you for your feedback. Patient care is our top priority, and we do all that we can to provide the very best experience.
Negative experience: Was admitted for kidney stones and failure !! They treated me like an addict from the second I got there through admittance !! It was also a racial experience I was treated like shit but the Spanish guy next to me had the same issues and was waited on hand and foot and treated way different !! I was dripping blood out my privates and screaming in pain and was taken off my pain meds !! My parents came to visit and were appalled they got the director to come down and the director told my family I looked fine to him and he doesn’t care nor does he care about his bad reviews he said after my father mentioned them ! He said I’m only here for a check !!! This place is disguisting I can’t believe what I went through when I needed help and comfort !!

Fantastic experience: Very good medical center, I felt very comfortable while I was here. It was clean and organized and everyone I dealt with was friendly and polite. There seems to be plenty of parking and good signage to find the area you are looking for.

Fantastic experience: They took care me thank you so much

Fantastic experience: 10/10 experience when your doctor is Loki Skylizard. He is patient, welcoming, extremely comfortable to be around and also very, very nice. I used to think doctors were greedy who only listened to multi billion corporations. But not now. Loki Skylizard has changed my outlook on Doctors. Solid 10/10, would recommend.
Thank you for your wonderful review! Our mission is central to everything we do, and we’re proud of our team’s dedication to living out that mission through exceptional care. Your kind words affirm our efforts.
Negative experience: My Mother suffered at the hands of the Mercy Hospital system two days ago. She was told she had a fracture, but didn't receive details on the type of fracture. She wasn't properly discharged and they made vital mistakes with her medication instructions. They treated my handicapped mother so poorly that I am ashamed to even report this incident. But I must do this! My mother will never go back to this facility again. They should be ashamed of how they managed my mother and the pain she was in. The only reason I'm leaving 1 star is because my review couldn't be posted without it. Read between the lines.

Fantastic experience: Caitlin Normoyle with personal primary care is the best! Highly professional and reccomended
Negative experience: Avoid Mercy at all costs. My father was recently admitted. While the floor nurses themselves are great, the nurse case managers are horrible. Instead of working with patients and their family to select appropriate rehabilitation and nursing facilities before case managers start looking for available locations, the case managers select the facilities on their own and force patients and their family to accept the location they picked. Absolutely horrible. My family was only given a list of places after the case manager had already got offers from facilities. AVOID Mercy. Now I see why Mercy is consistently rated as one of the worst hospitals in Massachusetts.

Negative experience: I had a concern that I wanted to discuss therefore I called the switchboard and was transferred to Megan's voicemail. I never received a call back. Apparently, they don't really want to know about your concerns. I give me Megan's zero Stars

Negative experience: If I could leave zero starts I would. Our doctor TOLD us to go to the ER. We have been here for five and half hours. At least a dozen people that came in AFTER us have been seen and sent home. My husband is 75 years old this is inhumane!!!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Our goal is to provide every person with the best experience and care possible. Your feedback is important, and we would like to talk about this further. Please contact us at [email protected].
Fantastic experience: I had to go to the emergency room last night because I cut through my finger pretty bad and the doctor and nurses there were amazing they took me right away and they kept me calm because my anxiety was very bad. Doctor Landry and nurse Katie were so awesome with their care with me getting stitches. They gave great aftercare knowledge and recommend a doctor for me. I was in and out. I would definitely come back here if needed.
We’re delighted to hear about your positive experience. Our Mission-driven care is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re proud to have a team dedicated to serving our community with compassion and excellence.
Negative experience: Do not show up at the emergency room unless you're absolutely dying. On MINIMUM, your wait will be 5 hours. After I waited 10 hours I got up and left. Went to Urgent Care the next day and I was seen in 12 minutes. Will never again return to Mercy Hospital for anything. They can go out of business for all I care.

Negative experience: Literally came at the same time as a white client, decided to see her first, I literally have the same symptoms as her and she got a room right away, I didn't even get taken to triage, its ridiculous!! Staff is very rude

Fantastic experience: The ER waiting room doesn't get a star. The blonde that takes your vitals in the morning was not very pleasant. She doesn't even deserve the reasons why. I was in an ER bed for 10 hrs which was fine, I dozed off and on. I was admitted as I needed surgery. When I finally got a room, the nurse I had was phenomenal. I called him " the george". He gets 10 stars. I remember 2 people from the surgical department "Erin and Matt"! They both get 10 stars. When I came out of surgery, Erin was the first one I recognized and she was a delight. This has always been my go to hospital. The care has always been amazing, even when I was a Lil Jill lol. I would love for this review to reach the people listed. They deserve the recognition.
Thank you for your feedback. Patient care is our top priority, and we do all that we can to provide the very best experience.
Negative experience: So I’m at the ER today’s 528 2025. I’ve been at the ER for almost 5 hours and there’s nobody in the ER. It just seems like nobody really cares here. The staff are very rude and on top of it. It just seems very unproductive. This will be the last time I ever come here And I will be making a report to the city.

Positive experience: I visited Mercy Medical Center this afternoon for a colonoscopy and found Mercy to be a great selection for medical treatment. The medical staff was compassionate and caring and demonstrated a fine example of professionalism. From the physicians to the nursing and support staff, I was very pleased. I had been to Mercy a number of times previously and walked away with a somewhat mediocre experience, but again, I had a great experience on this visit. Keep up the good work!

Negative experience: Terrible service, the 5th floor nurse's are rude and uncompassionate. Run far away from this hospital.

Negative experience: ER staff at desk were nice and professional. After waiting 3 hrs and finally getting a room 5 staff members stood in front of our room gossiping about another employee for 45 min

Negative experience: Was there for 6 days all they did was put me in pain management department and let say its the worst I mean the worst place a human can be the nurses are the WORST they wait till you're in pain then wait another 3 hours while you're in WORST PAIN EVER to give you your medication, you need MERCY to enter that HOSPITAL OF HELL they are all about money and not helping.I recommend go to BAY STATE HOSPITAL at least you get to respect you need . Ps. CLOSE DOWN MERCY HOSPITAL IS THE HOSPITAL OF HELL

Negative experience: Thursday,13,2025 My experience at this emergency room was deeply concerning. After waiting for 12 hours with a critical illness and receiving no help, I decided to seek treatment elsewhere. The nurse's insistence that I wait longer, despite the hospital being full, was unacceptable. If the hospital is at capacity, why subject critical patients to prolonged waits in the waiting area instead of transferring them to another facility? This practice could potentially endanger lives. While this hospital might be suitable for minor ailments requiring quick attention, I strongly advise against going there for any life-threatening condition.

Fantastic experience: I have to give Mercy a five since I brought my mom to another hospital and they missed her fractured hip and pneumonia. The next day we brought her to Mercy and the care was night and day. Thank you Mercy ER staff for caring my mom, and the stay at the hospital was great! My mom is doing better because of you.
We’re delighted to hear about your positive experience. Our Mission-driven care is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re proud to have a team dedicated to serving our community with compassion and excellence.
Negative experience: It was good in here until like 5 days today it was horrible the nurses with yes your message is going to be Dominic and he said he's okay to come home with attitude I didn't want to be here at all any.ore if I get better bay state more Mercy I don't care Mercy was my everything u told today I don't like them anymore

Fantastic experience: A couple of months ago I went to the emergency department at Mercy medical center. They did all the necessary testing, figured out my problem and transferred me into the hospital where I stayed for 4 days. All the services provided were excellent beginning with my oncologist Dr. McAuliffe, the hospital doctors, nurses, aids and all staff.
Thank you for your wonderful review! Our mission is central to everything we do, and we’re proud of our team’s dedication to living out that mission through exceptional care. Your kind words affirm our efforts.
Fantastic experience: My mom was admitted here for a week. The whole vibe of the place is calming . It’s not that there isn’t a sense of urgency, it’s not an atmosphere of a big bustling hospital. Everything and everyone has been on it and communicate very effectively. I can’t thank the entire staff enough.
Thank you for your wonderful review! Our mission is central to everything we do, and we’re proud of our team’s dedication to living out that mission through exceptional care. Your kind words affirm our efforts.
Positive experience: Much like the rest of their system it's not the doctors or nurses that make an unpleasant experience. It's the waiting on hold forever and their billing dept giving me the run around between them and insurance.

Fantastic experience: All of the staff here is so lovely! In particular Stacey in traige was amazing and made sure to comfort me while getting my blood drawn as I have passed out before. Highly recommend

Negative experience: Patient registration, seems like she have no clue what to do besides pressing the buttons. Don’t bother even asking any questions! Please train them properly. We are patients with needs, more compassion less attitude!

Fantastic experience: Excellent Care! My dad has been here on the 4th four (Cardiac) and then the ICU on the 3rd floor. The place is so clean and the staff has been so attentive. Night and day different from our experience at Baystate last year. The lack of care my dad received there was shocking and dangerous. It was also filthy with feces and blood on the floor of the rooms he was in. Mercy has been such a blessing. They truly care about their patients and the staff doesn't seem as overwhelmed as Baystate. It's clear that there are efficient policies and systems in place. I highly recommend coming here!
Thank you for your feedback. Patient care is our top priority, and we do all that we can to provide the very best experience.
Negative experience: This hospital is grossly understaffed. It is completely full and nobody moves along. The cycle time is a travesty for medical emergencies! At this point there should be a sign outside closing out any more patients until the ER clears! Disaster!!! It's also unsightly that the front office nurses and staff are laughing away like they're in a party while everybody in the ER is staring angrily at them,

Negative experience: This hospital don’t deserve any stars it’s ridiculous they make you have to pick a star just to leave a review. Our dad sat in the ER for 7 hours durning the most uncomfortable time of his life. The lady that came around asking us if we needed anything explained that some people are taken before other due to the poor labs. I can guarantee that our dad’s labs were worse than anyone else that was there and I can say this because he sadly departed this world 3 days later. At Baystate where they took great care of him till he passed. This is absolutely the worst experience we have ever been through. If you value your life and your loved ones life DO NOT GO THERE.

Fantastic experience: I had a small surgery yesterday and I couldn’t recommend this hospital enough! The doctor, nurses, and anesthesiologist were all so kind and helpful. The anesthesiologist has a great sense of humor and he even brought me over a bunch of warm blankets! It really does make a huge difference when you have such nice staff around you during a stressful situation! Thanks again Mercy!!!
Thank you for your wonderful review! Our mission is central to everything we do, and we’re proud of our team’s dedication to living out that mission through exceptional care. Your kind words affirm our efforts.
Negative experience: worst hospital! Got my labs before anyone would call me in. I waited 6 hours and got nothing for my pain. Had people waiting for over 10 hours and absolutely no care other than vitals. 10 hours and the back is “full”. Is nobody doing their job? Was there in excruciating pain and left in excruciating pain. If I can rate this place negative stars, I’d gladly would.

Negative experience: We have been here since 830pm, it 6am the next morning, and they have not called in a single person. Their been people waiting for 16 hrs they keep saying their no bed when we can see all the bed are empty, every time the door open when the employee walks out of the ER. Definitely will not be coming back and switching my husband doctor.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately I had to make quite a few ER visits in the last year for my mother. She ended up at Mercy I think 3 times. The care in the ER was always excellent. The staff always helpful.
We’re delighted to hear about your positive experience. Our Mission-driven care is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re proud to have a team dedicated to serving our community with compassion and excellence.
Fantastic experience: An ER doctor that puts two hot packs on your back..now, that's called, bedside manner (compassion).. not often seen anymore.. the chairs in the waiting room, are painful to sit in, for hours, especially for the elderly.. Professional and caring staff.. thank you.
Thank you for your wonderful review! Our mission is central to everything we do, and we’re proud of our team’s dedication to living out that mission through exceptional care. Your kind words affirm our efforts.
Negative experience: WORST HOSPITAL BY FAR. I wish I could give this hospital negative stars. It is obvious the emergency department is poorly trained and seriously lacks organization. Sick people are left for 6, 7, 8 hours without any information, care or empathy from the staff. My mother broke her arm in Germany and was advised to get a cat scan immediately upon arrival back into the US. We have been in the waiting room for over 5 hours at this point. They took an xray of my mother’s arm at least 3 hours ago and we continue to sit in the waiting room. Nobody is being called back to receive treatment but the nurse can come out here a million times to do vital signs. I have never experienced anything like this at any hospital. This is clearly a place that does not care for their patients in any capacity. Shame on you Mercy hospital for allowing people to suffer in your dirty, overcrowded waiting room. I’m disgusted.

Fantastic experience: I am thankful for the exceptional care and professionalismI received at Mercy MRI department. Since the moment i arrived at the hospital, during the test , and after it I could have not asked for better care. I was anxious of being inside a machine, but the two radiologist technologists ,Miranda and Ashley, made sure I was relax and ready to go through the test. I highly recommend this facility to go to have the best care possible.
Thank you for your feedback. Patient care is our top priority, and we do all that we can to provide the very best experience.
Positive experience: Im still here. Lung surgery recovery. Room air conditioner has technchal problems in mid summer. Light remote not working Bed up and down blocks Not enough pillows for cushioning my surgery site. …..

Fantastic experience: Mercy Medical Center staff and doctors are first class. Sadly I have to go there too much but each visit is extremely stress free and enjoyable. Great people who care

Negative experience: Emergency is so crazy. Waited 10 hours even they didn’t allow me in. Blood work was done twice but I don’t know why they didn’t draw blood at the first time. Some of the patients who came later than me were treated earlier than me. I asked some of employees, why the patients were treated earlier than me who were come later than me. Their answers were unsatisfactory. Their answers were, patients have different test to do. Front desk employees in the morning shift were so unprofessional. If they can’t make it to do treatment , they have to inform the patients regarding long wait earlier than they check-in. I may not come back to this hospital again. This is my worst experience that I waited 10 hours even not seen & went back to home.

Negative experience: I am an EMS professional and recently got to visit the ED for the first time in many years. I hope I never go back. I have never seen such inability to run a department on my 35 year career. Triage nurse was non existent for the first 15 minutes after our arrival. And when she showed up she was rude and abrasive. No hospital staff (other than registration) even came over to speak with the client. The inability to manage the department held my stretcher hostage for 45 minutes before being given a room. Nurses in back were amazing once we got there!!!

Negative experience: There aftercare (Discharge Planners) are ruthless. They are pushy and overbearing not considering what the patient actually wants. I appreciate that they have aftercare in place, however, it seems more like they want to empty the bed asap and avoid liability for not making the patient go somewhere. The patient should be consulted and a discussion should be had by the treating physician and the rest of the medical team. The patient should not be made to feel unsafe or rushed when considering this is their one life to live and deserve empathy and compassion. Please reviews your ethical standards Mercy.

Negative experience: Doctors and nurses there are just careless and have terrible bedside manner. They were telling patients that have been there for 8 plus hours including myself that if they wanna go home they can nobody is stopping you instead of making them feel comfortable and I went in with severe back pain and had me stand or sit in those uncomfortable seats just to go back into a room with no bed and just another uncomfortable chair for 3 hours and no consideration that I was in constant pain and comfortable. NEVER AGAIN

Negative experience: My husband was discharged from this Hospital a week ago. After being discharged, he noticed that his forearm where they did the IVs; became red, hard, and hot. We had a GI appointment today and they took blood, and sent him for an ultrasound of the forearm. It was determined that he had a blood clot, so they walked him over to the ER waiting room and there we waited, and waited, and waited etcetera etcetera. They attempted to take more blood, which was a problem because he hadn't been drinking fluids today yet. His arm looked like a pin cushion when they were done. They finally sent him to a bed in the inner Sanctum, where we are still waiting for the doctor to read the results of the ultrasound that was taken at 3:30 p.m. The final decision will be to admit him or send him home with blood thinners. Only one doctor that can read an ultrasound!!!! We will never be back!!!!! I gave you 0 stars, since it is now 9:20 pm, and we are still waiting, and waiting, etc etc

Fantastic experience: I am grateful for the care I received at Mercy. I was a cranky, anxious patient today, but professionalism prevailed and I received the emergency treatment that I didn’t get anywhere else. The ER was packed and they worked diligently to make sure everyone was attended. My Nurse SK and Dr. Ryan Mullen really took the time to set my mind at ease. My apologies if I did not appear grateful. Please know that I am. Just going through a lot. I received everything I needed and some. Negative experience: My mother was there and past away in there care. She past on February 17 before she past she was getting better until a nurse had her sitting up to clean her and let her fall out of the bed. She hit her head on the floor and went downhill from there. Next day she passed. Now They want us to pay her medical bills which is over $30.000 ! Worst Hospital.

Negative experience: The worst place I’ve ever been in my life. No sense of urgency whatsoever. I was there for 8 hours and was never seen by a nurse or doctor. More people LEFT after waiting hours and hours than were actually SEEN. Not even a single vending machine or anything, which is crazy for the length of time people are stuck waiting there. If I could give this place a zero - I would. I will never be back!

Fantastic experience: Long story so I'll cut to the chase. I had a stroke heart attack and pneumonia in December and Jan. The ICU nurses and aides and respiratory therapists and Drs.were amazing! Transferred to the floor and the very same care was given. I almost hated to leave!

Negative experience: Chest pains and abdominal pain, blood and mucus in stool. Been sitting here 7 hours and counting because I can’t go home feeling like this. The first 3 hours I was told it was a long wait time and I was 11th in line. The next person, she made it clear my symptoms had no priority over the others coming in. I walked away feeling small. Unimportant. I feel really uncomfortable sitting here now waiting to be called in. I’m dehydrated. I haven’t ate because everything I eat makes me go to the bathroom. My deductible has been charged they had no problem getting that information from me. Another reason I won’t leave. This experience is from the waiting room only thus far. I will update after a doctor actually sees me.

Fantastic experience: I have had several experiences over the years at Mercy Hospital with their imaging department. In each case, I was treated with the utmost respect and pleasant attitude. It is my hospital of choice when I need an MRI or other imaging.

Negative experience: I went this morning because i have not ate in week I am shaky weak and i told the lady i rather die than feel this way and she put me in a mental part of the hospital... I never got checked for my symptoms I feel horrible!

Fantastic experience: Dr Yar Rasul is excellent. Upon my sister's hospitalization, he was able to diagnose her properly. In the past, doctors would dismiss her very paintful physical symptoms as mental health issues. Turns out she had MS all along. Very thankful for dr. Rasul. He took the time to speak to both my sister and I, answering every question and addressing every issue. He’s a great doctor. The rest of the staff was also really great. I’m the guardian or healthcare proxy for numerous people, so I've spent time in a lot of different hospitals, and I have to say that I feel more confident leaving a relative at Mercy Hospital in the hands of Dr Rasul, than at MGH. Also the other staff were great such as nurse Geo, nurse Leti, nurse Emily, the spinal tap doctor, IR staff, patient transporter Aiden and many more whose name I forgot but I have not forgotten their great service. Father Donato was also very helpful for cultural support.
Thank you for your kind words.
Negative experience: I wish i can give 0 more than 5 hours amd left never got attended asked for water they denied me a little bit of water the staff is not friendly and no empathy whatsoever. Hispanic lady was in triage they dont have translation is by a tablet and the person in the tablet was yelling to her that I could hear to the opposite side of rhe room worse hospital ever if you dont want to die dont come here

Thank you for sharing. Our compassionate staff is dedicated to providing high-quality care.
Fantastic experience: I had an MRI performed at Mercy Medical Center. There was adequate parking near the facility. I did not have to wait at all. The staff genuinely cared about my comfort. The results were posted the next day. I was very happy with the overall experience.
Thank you for your kind words.
Negative experience: They dont even have enough beds been here 7 hours this place will let you die and wont even care .all that taxes payer money we pay Medicare taxes for nothing. This hospital is joke

Negative experience: Most of the staff are nice but damn.... why are you making everyone wait almost two days here to be checked ? It's an emergency room... the almost 48 hours wait period is ridiculous!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I can't complain from day 1 into my surgery and the stay to my dismissal was extremely good thanks for everything
Thank you for sharing. Our staff is committed to excellence in patient care, and they go above and beyond to prove it every day.
Negative experience: Baystate medical used to be the worst hospital to go to now Mercy Hospital holds that nurses make you feel like u are bothering them if u ask a question AND THE DOCTORS TAKE SO LONG TO SEE 1 PATIENT!!!!! WHY IS IT THAT WING MEMORIAL IN PALMER NURSES ARE POLITE And the doctors take about a half hour with each patient getting to the gist of the situation and moving it on Level of care is so much better even though so little time Mercy. Shame on you we must do better.

Negative experience: Their parking is a disaster. I was trying to pick up an Rx from the optical center, and I literally COULD NOT PARK. There were no spaces available. After 20 minutes I gave up. Having a bad hip but no handicap placard, this is unacceptable.

Negative experience: Staff was rude as heck (asked for directions to get to OB/Cancer unit and three nurses told me "no" just straight out) OB doctor there is really cool and understanding. However, the hospital will accept insurance and payments for appointments/consults even though they know they do not morally allow the requested service. I went to Mercy because my insurance (WellSense, formally BMC) is accepted there and Baystate wasn't taking me. I need my tubes removed as I am a two time kidney transplant recipient and I can not risk pregnancy whatsoever do to complications to my kidney, the fetus if one were to develop, and my overall life because of my medicines (specifically Myfortic, look it up it's a terrifying read.) Mercy does not provide this form of treatment because of their religious ideology, but they were more than happy to charge my insurance for the consult just to have my come in to be denied. OB I consulted with felt awful and really wanted to help me, but they could not because of the hospital's faith. If you're insurance locked like me, good luck. There is no god here.

Negative experience: I have been here for 6 hours and every time I go up they tell me two people in front of my I have seen at least 16 people go in front of me who have been sitting here for 6 hours with people sitting next to me c with a cut on there hand and get called in after 20 minutes I was slammed into a guardrail by a tractor trailer

Negative experience: I WAITED FOR HOURS TO BE SEEN AND I WAS BROUGHT IN BY AMBULANCE. ONLY TO BE DUMPED IN THE WAITING ROOM WHILE I FELT AS I WAS GOING TO DIE IN PAIN. NO MEDICATION NO CONSIDERATION. EXTREME ABDOMINAL PAIN EVENTUALLY I NEEDED SURGERY! MOST RIDICULOUS EXPERIENCE! STAFF ARE EXTREMELY RUDE AND THE PLACE IS SO DIRTY.#SPRINGFIELD'S HOSPITAL'S MUST IMPROVE!

Fantastic experience: From the moment Mom walked into the ER, she was treated kindly and professionally. From tests through procedures, all was explained to her and doctors also called me (out of state). She felt less confused and more confident than she did at her last 2 hospital admissions in the past year. After discharge, we received prompt calls from pathology and also for a follow up visit. Staff was attentive, and the atmosphere was calm and caring. She was seen by student as well as staff nurses, and she said that head of hospital stopped by to see how she was doing. Overall, an excellent outcome for a 5 day hospital stay with multiple procedures and surgery.
Thank you for your kind words.
Fantastic experience: My husband was admitted in crisis in April and the hospital staff saved him. He has a tough road to recovery, thanks to the staff on the "IMC"/ 2nd floor unit. Each and every one is a professional and really cares about the patient and family. Thank You all---JT
Negative experience: Don't bother going to the ER. I arrived at 4:30PM..... still sitting in a very cold waiting area and it's 11:30PM..... still have not seen a doctor and there are 3 patients ahead of me. I should just leave. DON'T USE THIS ER. Ridiculous. Don't walk.... RUN from this hospital and God will be with you in His mercy.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. Went there at 5:20 am cause my 9yr old woke up crying in pain. The nurse behind the counter was very cold and completely uncaring. There were five people in the waiting room. All five adults. My son was the only child and the only one crying from the pain he was in. I asked if she could give him ibuprofen or something for the pain and she said he needs to wait. I asked how long and she said four hours. Four hours when he’s crying from the pain in his stomach. No no no. We left and went baystate. At Baystate they have a separate pediatric emergency unit. The nurse behind the counter was very nice and genuinely seemed to care. She got us right in a room where they checked him out and gave him zofran for his nausea and ibuprofen and Tylenol for the severe pain he was in. I will never recommend anyone ever go to mercy. They do not care about you. All this because one nurse was so cold hearted and couldn’t be bothered to care about a 9 yr little boy crying in pain.

Fantastic experience: I just spent 10 days at Mercy Medical and I would like to thank Mary Jo Matroni in Recovery. Also Tammi, Kerri, Wilfredo, Matthew Kristie Brandy Brandon & Kaylee. On the 4th. Floor.
Thank you for your kind words.
Fantastic experience: Since I have been treated at Mercy the Staff and care I have been receiving has been fantastic. The Staff does so much to make you feel great
Thank you for your kind words.
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at Mercy GI. A unit secretary named Margaret went above and beyond to get me in at an earlier time which was very important to me. She even found me later to say hello and introduce herself. The recovery nurses were fantastic.
Thank you for your kind words.
Fantastic experience: Mary, my nurse in prop was very helpful. She ensured all my needs were met even though I was not the neediest patient in the unit that day. Also, the young man, tech, in the radiology department ensured all my needs were met there. He even escorted me back to the pre OP unit. A great experience due to your outstanding staff.
Thank you for your kind words.
Fantastic experience: Dr Orgell, ER, was great and compassionate professional; nursing staff was accommodating towards my disabilities. Thank you Mercy for being there when I really needed an entity to lean on.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic they kept me aliv
Fantastic experience: Staff was fantastic and very friendly. Was in surgery on time. They are amazing!
Negative experience: One word UNPROFESSIONAL staff horrible experience from coming out of surgery to being transferred to the fifth floor first shift nightmare staff. To much to explain on what happened there on the first shift fifth floor. Horrible experience started after the surgery I was feeling woozy however I was still somewhat alert to know what was happening with my surroundings regarding myself. A person came to answer my call bell with an attitude, rolling her eyes and telling me they already gave me meds & couldn't give me anymore stating that I already rang for the same thing. I told her she was being UNPROFESSIONAL & because she was giving me an attitude I no longer trusted her and wanted to see someone else who could attend me. she proceeded to argue with me I told her not to argue with me & because of that now I was going to report her. rummers must of reached to the fifth floor first shift the next day where I had to stay after my surgery its where more of the unprofessional toxic behavior staff problem begin that's another horrible story. They didn't want to answer call bells, turning off the ringer from the nurses station having to ring the call bell again, I remember one of the days I rang three times because I was in so much pain & needed assistance as to when I was due for meds. Someone came rushing into my room not knowing who she was came in my room to swipe their badge onto the front of the footboard on the bed that I was on, she was rushing to leave but I had to stop her from leaving my room asking her to get my nurse. Nurse did not come in my room right away she came in my room after seeing the girl who was rushing to leave my room coming back with two of her other colleagues then the nurse rushed into my room second later. This is only part of what I experience on this level of the fifth floor first shift. Not to mention the comments one was saying outloud on the hallways. The only good thing that happened to me was having the third shift staff care for me & and everyone from the surgery team were great.

Negative experience: Deborah Bitsoli, President of Mercy Medical Center - Your patients need your assistance in looking into how the emergency room waiting room is operating. When asked what its the process your told to just sit down and wait without any compassion or any additional information. When expressing that you have been sitting and waiting for 4 hours you are told that it’s usually a 6 hour wait as if that is acceptable. To add insult to injury staff is standing around behind the desk having personal conversations and not aware of their surroundings and it gives the impression as if they are in the wrong career. Its very clear that the process and training of staff has to be looked into and revamped to serve and help the people who seek help from Staff who is un organized, chatting sitting around laughing while patients sit in a waiting for hours at a time with no real explanation. Whats is the purpose of having an emergency room that does not operate as an emergency. In addition while sitting for hours i over heard another patient complaining to the desk nurse that his wife was given the wrong medication. Her response was cant help you. WOW!

Fantastic experience: It has always been good medically for what I need.
Fantastic experience: Everyone helpful. Hitched a ride in wheelchair. It was quick and they made me comfortable.
Negative experience: My father has a back pain and he has been waiting for 4 hours. Ridiculous. I wonder if they really prioritize emergency.

Negative experience: They fired my roommate for staying home while I was home sick waiting for Covid test results. This is a medical facility. He was doing what is safest for the elderly patients he sees on a regular basis.

Negative experience: I was brought by ambulance, but was told to sit in the waiting room, and "in the meantime, someone will be right out to draw your blood" No one came--I was parked in a wheelchair near the door as there were at least 50 people waiting to be seen. I was unable to sit up. That's why I called an ambulance. In my opinion, there should be better rules for triage-- to have a contingency plan for non-ambulatory patients. The triage nurse on duty should get 5 stars as she came out to talk to me and was very compassionate. Hospital policy 0 stars.

Fantastic experience: I had a quick, efficient procedure done with the most pleasant and empathetic person.
