Fantastic experience: One of the best facilities in the southwest of Missouri. Definitely a great place to have a love one brought to.

Positive experience: My in-laws were treated with respect and care here and Amber Bruce was so very helpful in helping us to get the special attention they needed when we are so far away. She really showed so much care and compassion.

Negative experience: I spent 2 weeks there getting physical & occupational therapy after surgery. The food was absolutely atrocious! The eggs were watery, powdered eggs, the coffee was cold and you were generally only allowed one cup. The other meals weren't much better. For lunch the day before I left we were served a tator tot casserole that I kid you not looked like vomit! Drink choices were tea, sour lemonade & kool aid. Milk was upon request. In the two weeks that I was there I was bathed twice and my bed was changed only twice. The first week no housekeeping came into my room to clean. The next week the housekeeper finally came and said she had been off on vacation days. She did an excellent job of cleaning the room. It took anywhere from 30 mins to an hour for the call button to be answered. Many times when they finally came they said they were over helping work another hall. I think the staff does the best they can with the help & resources they are allowed, but frequently it's not enough. At 6:45 AM the morning I was to be released I told the nurse in charge of discharging me that my family would be there at 10AM to get me. Since it was plenty of time before breakfast & meds time I expected she'd get my discharge papers ready. She did not, instead I had to go down the hall asking where she was and that she be notified that my family was there for me. Finally an hour later with a sour look & bad attitude she came and did the paperwork to release me. I was so gratefu to be leaving that horrid place.

Negative experience: Would give a 0 if I could. There was a lady Alice in housekeeping she was rude and treated resistants disrespectful and also was always vaping in rooms

Fantastic experience: The care here is outstanding. The staff is attentive, compassionate, and truly goes above and beyond for their residents. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and creates a welcoming environment. They provide excellent communication with families, which gave me great peace of mind. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: This place is awful! My grandma was here she was there 14 day before she got a shower when asked by my mom why she has not had a shower the nurse said cause she kick and would hit my grandma had tumor other things wrong with her there is no reason for them to neglect my grandma care they should learn how to deal with this kind of stuff . They also would just throw a tray in there and leave pull the curtains my grandma had times she could not feed her self that is neglect to . When I would come visit in the evening the aid and everyone work would make sure they was heard threw out all the rooms my grandma had tumors on her brain this stuff really got to her the loud sounds . My grandma also suffered from pain they would give her over the counter stuff that did nothing . My mom had to sit in there pretty much all day to make sure she was getting the kind of pain meds she needed. On her last days of being with us they was worried about her getting food in her one aid said they was trying to get her to eat she could not eat at this point . This place has heartless people .

Fantastic experience: My mother has been at The Maples for almost a year now. We are very happy with her care, and she loves it there. She loves the staff, she’s well taken care of and we are so glad she is a resident. This home is very clean and it’s a beautiful place. You can really tell that the staff love their jobs. When we were faced with putting mom in a home, The Maples was at the top of our list.

Fantastic experience: Visited the facility October 4, 2023 and all I can say is wow from the moment I pulled into the driveway the grounds were so inviting. was met at the front desk by a wonderful receptionist, and was given a tour. It had a resort, feel high vaulted ceilings it’s just was warm and welcoming. Everybody was in such a good mood, and it was such a bright and cheerful place. The staff was wonderful, answered my questions, and just made me feel very comfortable The quality of care that they would provide would be above and beyond.

Negative experience: I was in the surgical rehab wing in late April 2023. The staff was very nice, but there was not enough of them. I had to wait up two hours for pain meds, I needed ice packs and they only had one available, occasionally, I actually bought 3 to use while there. The food was horrible, many times the food was unrecognizable.The time food was served was never at a scheduled time. I contracted COVID while there, none of my visitors was, or became ill. I understand they were just coming off an outbreak. I only had 2 showers in the 11 days I was there. Instead of taking feedback and making improvements, the feeling I got was "If you do not like it, leave". So I left.

Positive experience: My overall experience was very good. The physical and occupational therapists were amazing. They had a plan for me and I attempted to do every task…always fun and encouraging! The bedside buzzer was a problem…I had to wait (my longest wait for a response was 1 hour 45 minutes) the aides did their best but they seemed understaffed. I think putting a two-way speaker in would help immensely. That way you can get the right person on the first try!

Negative experience: Very disappointing! As I am sitting here in the hospital on the cardiac floor with my mom due to their lack of attention and care, I am shocked at the treatment to patients. Call lights weren't checked on in a timely manner, beds were made with dirty linens, and nurses were allowed to talk mean and disrespectful to the residents. My mom had severe bruises appear from roughness. It's not a place I can recommend.

Negative experience: A report has been filed with the State and hopefully this facility will be under legal investigation soon for elderly abuse. My Mother was neglected and abused. When management was made aware they assured the nurse was fired and the incident was being investigated. It was an "internal investigation" which was just a coverup.. DO NOT use this place. My mother's roommate said all the patients were afraid of the nurse that she said had "roughed" my Mom up leaving huge bruises.

Fantastic experience: The facility itself is top notch but what makes this place great is all of the people who work there. Both of my parents are there and are treated with dignity, love and respect. I visit frequently and am always impressed by the friendliness and kindness from all departments. From management to nursing to daily detail the hard work and humility shines through. Thank you for taking good care of my parents.

Negative experience: I was in this terrible place to recover, 24 days. Every person there was fed less than you would feed a 2 year old ...residents constantly begged for food. Some of the older ones lashed out at others to obtain a cracker! The staff is terrible... no one cares.... don't believe me? Just show up unannounced...the only good thing was the PT and OT....residents are seriously neglected and abused here!!!! Be aware

Negative experience: I would have rated ZERO stars if that had been an option. The management is absolutely unprofessional and rude. The Director or Nursing is unhelpful in resolving any matter. Due to Covid restrictions and not being able to be inside with a loved one you count on the people inside. Unfortunately you can’t count on them at The Maples. Truly disheartening.

Negative experience: This place is beautiful yet management is HORRIBLE and willing to put your loved ones at RISK!!! Currently they have a high number of confirmed cases of covid-19 (including the staff) and little is being done about it. A former staff member tested positive for the virus and was told that they STILL had to work as long as they didn't have a fever.

Negative experience: I was in The Maples for about 3 weeks to get stronger. They are amazing. The therapists are great and so helpful and understanding. The lady that gives you he showers is amazing. The food is very good if you are on a regular diet. If you are out of the building when food is ordered they give you whatever. But most of the food was very good. Definitely better than hospital food. The aids are awesome. My only complaint is if you push the button for someone it can take a while. They have nice things to do to keep you busy, from bingo, to arts and crafts to getting your nails done. All in all not a bad place when you have to be away from home

Negative experience: Staff has been incredibly rude and condescending to my grandmother. They have refused to give her the meds that she has been prescribed for years. Staff ignored her complaints of not getting her medications. Refused to call the doctor during the week to confirm her complaints and then tried to tell us "it's the weekend we cant get ahold of her doctor" although today is monday and a call could easily be made. When we tried to talk to the director of nursing she was extremely rude and simply told us we are wrong. I dont feel this place deserves even the one star I have given nor would I ever recommend this place anyone.

Negative experience: Very bad time there. Didn't listen. On my Aunts medicine. Dont have rooms set up for patients needs. Unless u have a private room. The staff was very nonchalant about the issues. She was there 4 days. Worse when I took her out then when she went in.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about The Maples. They took great care of my mother-in-law throughout her stay. The staff is friendly, professional and very caring. The facility is clean, updated and modern.

Negative experience: My dad went to the maples for rehab after having a mild stroke. I know that most of the Cna's provided good personal care to my dad, but the administation/nursing team lacked in continuity. The Cna's were not cross trained to help build on what the therapy department had achieved. There were two Cna's that consistently took my dad to the bathroom using his walker, and this wasn't everyday. All others wheeled him in his wheelchair. We expressed that we wanted all staff to do this, but nothing changed. I would never recommend the maples to anyone.

Fantastic experience: My dad has been in here for over a week and we couldn't be more happy with the progress he has made! It is very clean and laid out very well! We have had an issue with an evening nurse but I doubt she will be an issue again. Keep up the good work guys!!!

Fantastic experience: I was there for rehab from a fall. Everyone but one aide was fantastic and so nice to help you when needed. Dustin, Hannah, Mary Jane and Roxie and everyone else except one aide that came in about 2:30 should not be working with the elderly. My mother is 96 and I am glad to know if I ever needed a place I would want her there. Very well run facility. Very clean.

Fantastic experience: The most amazing care I've ever received. Dr. Zubair was very knowledgeable of my disease and i improved quickly under his care. My therapists Casey, Dustin, and Jane made hard work fun. nurse Kevin was so compassionate and helpful. Anne, Lindsey, and Lisa, Naomi, Love you girls. For the many names i can't remember i apologize. But 100% of the staff I give 5 stars. Wish I didn't have to leave.

Negative experience: I was in the Maples from October 13-November 6, 2012, after having surgery. Most of the staff were cordial. I had two main problems with staff members. One, on my first day in their cafeteria, I was choking, and an attendant just ran her fingertip in a light circle on my back - like that was supposed to help. The second thing was, one morning between 5:30 and 6:00, I was awake in bed and using a urinal. A female worker came into my room and said she needed to take my picture. When I objected, she did it anyway. She was simply rude and unprofessional. Overall, I would not recommend the Maples to anyone.

Negative experience: My sister is in the Maples Nursing Home,she's only 68 years old.She has only been there three weeks and has 2 rats in her room.This is disgusting no one should have to pay to be in a place this unclean.
