Athletico Physical Therapy - Springfield

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Athletico for my left shoulder therapy. The staff was friendly, and Devyn was outstanding. He took the time to review my X-rays and created personalized exercises that really helped. His hands-on work—especially the stretches and massages—made a big difference in my recovery. Highly recommend Devyn and the team at Athletico! I had to go to Athletico again for a very painful low back issue. As expected Devyn and team did a great job fixing the problem. Nice friendly people. Too bad I have to be in serious pain to see these people!

Fantastic experience: I found the Athletico staff to be knowledgeable and willing to answer questions about any aspect of my recovery process. In addition the entire staff made me comfortable in the process. I had the time to complete all of my exercises even if I ran over my allotted time. I highly recommend Athletico to anyone wishing both a good outcome and a knowledgeable staff.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Athletico for a variety of reasons. All the staff and students were extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout my journey (Shout out to Ellie, Mike, Angie, and Sara!) They continously worked with my atypical schedule and provided support wherever they could. They also went above and beyond in making sure I was comfortable and staying safe in my workouts. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started going, but I never thought I would be as strong and pain free as I am post therapy. The facility was also very clean and well kept, especially for as much equipment as they had. If I ever require PT again, I will certainly be back.

The entire team was highly professional and they recommended a treatment recovery program that was highly effective. I would highly recommend Athletico Physical Therapy in Springfield. My recovery went quicker than expected thanks to their regiment.

Fantastic experience: I started my sessions over a month ago and I was very sore and weaker than I am today.Everything was tight and hurting at first but once they started working with me to better my physical health I started to feel the difference after every appointment and everything they had me do it worked out 100 percent.They knew exactly what to do for every area of pain I had and not only did they fix it but the way they treat you makes it even better because they really showed how much they cared to help and that means a lot.Everyone was kind and respectful during my time there and I would most definitely recommend them a go to for better physical health.They have real therapy that gives you real positive results and I thank each and every one of them for their participation in my time there very much appreciated.

Fantastic experience: First, kudos to Angie - she's in charge of the front desk and scheduling among other things, she makes every accommodation to meet client needs. She's beyond personable, she really demonstrates that she cares about getting you help a.s.a.p.! Second, my therapists are Mike and Ellie and they know their stuff! They’ve helped me with more than just physical therapy by being upbeat, and they've helped me regain the confidence I need to do the hard work of PT. I'm making progress and my positive mindset is adding to my results. Athletico has been a very good experience for me - I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I feel like I’ve made great progress. I started 2 days post op, & my range of motion has increased a lot. Also they are able to tweak my therapy to how I’m feeling, whether it be that I’m in a lot of pain, or not a lot of pain. They listen to my needs & meet them accordingly.

Fantastic experience: Mike and all of his wonderful team do an amazing job! From the moment Angie calls, you will be greeted with positive personalities that make it hard to feel down. All of the clinicians here will listen to you and adapt the program to what is comfortable, while targeting problem areas. This is not a sit down and stretch place, they will keep you moving if you're willing. I really don't have anything negative to say about them! They understand that none of us want to need them and they truly work towards solutions!

Fantastic experience: I injured my left shoulder and had clavicle surgery. Thanks to the amazing team at The Athletico here in Springfield I recovered in half the time. Michael, my therapist, was incredible. Not only did he help me with my shoulder, but he also noticed I had vertigo from the same accident. In just two 10-minute sessions, he was able to fix it! I can’t recommend them enough for their professionalism and care.

Fantastic experience: When I looked for a physical therapy facility, I didn't know where to go. I picked Athletico because they were first alphabetically. No other reason. But I am so glad I did. After 16 sessions, I was actually sad today as my last session came to an end. I will miss everyone there. The therapists and staff are friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. I hope I can find time to stop in just to say hi, because they are such a nice group of people. They were very helpful in getting me stronger and pain-free. And they sent me home with an exercise plan so I can continue to get stronger myself. I can't recommend Athletico in Springfield enough!

Fantastic experience: This is the best facility for Rehab in Springfield. I should know, I've been to a couple others in the past. I was in a horrible T-boned car accident in September 2024 and had multiple severe injuries including 2 torn rotator cuffs. Mike was able to help me rehab both my shoulder and hip without having to have surgery. I was thinking I would definitely have to have surgery but he got me through it. They also made accommodations for me and my service dog "Lincoln". Angie the manager is very helpful, organized and genuinely concerned for everyone there. Love this place!

I’ve been going in for a while and I love this place. They’re very kind very clean. The place is very clean and the trainers are very knowledgeable Mike is very knowledgeable at his job and he’s one of the best therapist I’ve ever worked with and he’s very friendly. He answers all my questions and so does the lady at the front desk. She’s been very very helpful. She’s been very kind . and she goes out of her way to help everybody. I get them 10 stars easy.

Fantastic experience: Great facility! Angie is the scheduler and is in charge at the front desk. She is funny, kind and very welcoming. Mike is one of the physical therapists and he is knowledgeable and very personable and totally puts you at ease. After just 1 appt thus far we can see progress. Highly recommend this facility.

Negative experience: The times open and closed are wrong

Fantastic experience: After undergoing surgery last year, I was struggling to regain mobility and the recovery was taking a long time. My Dr recommended I try seeking physical therapy to help with my recovery and I am so glad I found the staff at Athletico Physical Therapy in Springfield, IL! They handled the insurance, scheduling, and all paperwork so efficiently. The vast knowledge and attention of the physical therapist was first-class. Dr. Arlen Magelitz (PT / DPT) and his staff were able to help me regain strength and mobility that I did not think I could ever return to. So thankful for them all and I would recommend them to anyone seeking physical therapy assistance.

Fantastic experience: We love coming here. Angie at the front desk is very helpful with any paperwork needed and is always friendly. My daughter primarily sees Arlen for her arm/shoulder and he is wonderful with her. He explains why it is happening and what he is doing to fix it. They also get us right in if there is an issue. Highly recommend and will continue to come here for any physical therapy needs.

Fantastic experience: MY PHYSICAL THERAPIST IS BETTER THAN YOURS!!! If you need PT, u NEED Arlan in your life!! I am so pleased with my results after every appointment!! Arlan is such an awesome and patient therapist!!! Hes really made this whole experience a success!! And when it comes to scheduling appointments , Angie is AMAZING!! Shes always so nice and she always works with u on scheduling what works best for you. I couldn't be more pleased and DEFINITELY recommend Arlan and Angie!!!!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this place for about a month now. Everyone is so polite. They actually care about you and help you get better. I had a big surgery on my left foot. I couldn't put any pressure on it. Logan is my therapist. He's very gentle and cares. He's actually been working magic on my foot. I'm starting to be able to put pressure on my foot and starting to walk. It's going great. Bobby is another great therapist. Angie at the desk, treats you like family. I would recommend this PT to anyone. They are awesome!!! Thank you to all there for caring for me & taking good care of everything.

Fantastic experience: Went to see Steve for an ulnar nerve issue, since this was my first time doing physical therapy I was a little nervous. Steve and Nanci made me feel comfortable and at home. Steve explained how the exercises would help and also took the time to look up a brace that my mom could order to help keep my elbow straight at night. I would highly recommend Steve (Athletico) for any of your physical therapy needs..

Fantastic experience: Steve and Nancy are excellent to work with. Both my wife and I have used them for multiple ailments, every time we walk out feeling much better. The location is really convenient as well. Due to recent Illinois legislation, you no longer require a doctors note either.

Fantastic experience: Steve Hanley is the best in the business for physical therapy in central Illinois. Before meeting Steve, I had worked with hospital-based therapists. What sets Steve apart from them is his dedication to first understanding what problems you are dealing with and then tailoring an individualized program (including home therapy) to put you back on the road to recovery. Steve is respected by his patients not only for his academic credentials (he holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree) but also for his concern for his patients' well-being. After I had a partial knee replacement, Steve helped me to make the most of the benefits of the surgery and literally got me back on my feet. The Athletico location is easily accessible (next to Schnucks on Chatham Road) and offers reserved parking nearby. Nanci, Steve’s assistant, makes scheduling appointments easy and she has a great sense of humor-as does Steve. Strongly Recommended

Fantastic experience: I can not say enough wonderful things about Steve. My 16 year old daughter went to a physical therapist prior to seeing Steve. They did absolutely nothing for her other than say "she needs to work on her posture". Steve has worked with her for close to 2 months now and her pain is diminishing and she is getting stronger every week. Were were told originally that she may have to quit everything that she loves to do. She is slowly getting back into her sports activities thanks to Steve! I would recommend him to anyone. He is truly second only to none!!

Fantastic experience: Athletico Springfield (Steve, Nancy and the gang) provided me with the treatment and overall feeling I was at a top notch facility and program that one otherwise might have to seek out in St. Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis or some other far less convenient location.
