Westmed Medical Group | Stamford: Reviews
Negative experience: Happy with Dr Schmidt but very, very cumbersome and challenging centralized scheduling system, and I’m seasoned medical provider!
Negative experience: Dispicable service!, including Patient Relations Department as well. I was trying to get my x-rays and every time I called I received a contradictive information. I spent 3 weeks on the phone to get an answer. Also, I rated poorly the manager Tracey of that office on the Summit Health Survey. Later on she called me back to complain about it, though the survey states that the rating is "strictly confidential" ?! What a mess! I found the service to be dishonest, irresponsible and very unprofessional.
Negative experience: My husband went to Dr. Andrew Hass for a torn bicep and received terrible care from start to finish. Please please do not go to this doctor - there are FAR better in the area. My husband went in for surgery after an MRI confirmed it was torn. A day later Dr. Hass called saying the surgery didn’t need to happen - when he opened up my husbands bicep was fine so just “cleaned things up”. From there the post op care was atrocious. My husband had to call several times to schedule a post op appt. His stitches were infected, his incision is puckering. Dr. Hass never followed up to say why MRI and surgery conflicted even when asked. Was completely careless in his response to questions. The physical therapist my husband is going to recommended another doctor as my husbands bicep isn’t recovering and this new doctor upon seeing the MRI suggested another surgery pending a second MRI. Thankfully we completely trust this new doctor (ONS) after several friend recommendations. I’m just so upset my husband didn’t go to them first and went to this hack job of a doctor.
Negative experience: Orthopedic doctors are the best but it is truly a shame that when you call up the place you get a non stamford location that are clueless about the patients needs and miscommunicate things to the local office. Totally unacceptable
Negative experience: My technician at this facility on 7/3/23 made various off-color, unprompted, offensive comments about Jews and about trans individuals. Extremely unprofessional and concerning.
Fantastic experience: High marks for this facility especially the personnel.
Negative experience: Referred from urgent care in rye to this office for a follow up visit with an orthopedist. Dr Hass examined me. The examine was rushed. Dr. Hass isn’t a very personable doctor. I asked him to fill out forms that I needed to go back to work. He filled them out twice and the information was incorrect both times. The third time I requested for him to correct the errors he refused to complete the forms. Then on top of that refused to speak with me regarding why he refused to complete them. Patient satisfaction is clearly not his top priority. He also wrote information on my form that was inaccurate which is why I asked him to correct the forms in the first place.
Negative experience: Do Not Use Westmed. After about a year of trying to fight them on a medical bill on a mistake they made, they have the nerve to send me to collections. I tried calling and emailing and talked to so many different people, told they'd call back and with a response and have yet to receive a call a call back. If I'm not mistaken, a mistake on the medical groups part is call Malpractice and I will get a lawyer involved considering I tried to solve this issue amicably.
Negative experience: Do not visit. Such a waste of time. Staff are rude and disrespectful. They are busy chat chatting and complaining to each other vs helping us. Take care of your customers!!!
Fantastic experience: Got blood work done. It was very quick. The lady at the desk seemed a bit off-putting, but it was later in the day so I changed it up to being tired…the lady who did the blood draw was very sweet and fun to chat with.
Negative experience: Horrible place . Save your time and go somewhere else. Made me wait an hour in pain after multiple times telling them that I am in pain but still no one cared and had to leave without seeing the doctor
Negative experience: Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. I was billed almost $700 dollars for a physical therapy appointment despite only having a $25 copay. I have called every week, sent emails, and the billing department tells me they will send my bill to insurance and never do. Please don’t go here.
Negative experience: They bill way too high - medicare patients stuck with big $$ surprises. I have seen several doctors there, some just for a one-time consultations. Then a month or 2 later I get a big surprise bill. I am on medicare and fixed income, I am sure Westmed couldn't care less. I will not be using this place again. The doctors are all great but the billing is way inflated. Update: "Expect someone from our leadership team to reach out to you soon to address your concern. Thank you and take care." 3 weeks later, nothing. Inflated billing pushing healthcare costs up for everyone, prime example of the sad state of healthcare in this country, price gouging even the older crowd living on fixed income. Charging as much as they can get away with. Shame on them.

Expect someone from our leadership team to reach out to you soon to address your concern. Thank you and take care.
Negative experience: Not happy at all with this place, I had to reschedule my appointment 2 times for my MRI because they waited almost a whole week to send out for the approval from the insurance company. I was there on Monday and they did not send out for the approval until Friday. Really disappointed, this is not how their patients should be treated.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Dr Gitelman. He performed a Micro Discectomy on me 4 days ago, I was in agonizing pain prior, now I am pain free. He even followed up with me on Labor Day weekend to see how I was doing. I cannot recommend him and the practice enough.

Negative experience: Very poor experience. Only a nurse available a limited testing facilities. No physician. They took a test. Told me to see a specialist. In my opinion a waste of time and money.
