Fantastic experience: I’ve been visiting Hopewell Medical Acupuncture Center in Sunnyvale for the past year for chronic back and neck pain, and the treatments have really helped me — my pain is much better now. Their tui na massage therapists are excellent. They truly understand the body and give a full one-hour massage, unlike many other places where therapists just watch the clock. Here, they make sure your concerns are fully addressed. Recently, I also went for treatment after a wrist fracture, and apart from the acupuncture, Dr. Long kindly suggested some traditional Chinese home remedies to aid faster recovery. I really appreciate the level of care and attention they provide. Highly recommend this place!

Positive experience: Good treatment, but poor experience overall. I really enjoy the massage and acupuncture here — the actual treatments are great, and that’s what kept me coming back for a while. In fact, I even referred a friend because the massage was genuinely helpful. However, the way the place is managed, especially by the owner, has become too much for me to deal with. Every visit, she spends about 10 minutes at the beginning and again at the end pushing me to refer more people or write a good review. It completely takes away from the relaxing experience I came for. I go there for healing, not to feel like I’m being recruited to promote the business. It’s also gotten more invasive. On my last visit, she asked me how to set something up and had me write it down for her — as if I worked there — all while juggling conversations with other clients and making me wait. It felt chaotic and unprofessional. She even started giving me unsolicited advice about my health insurance — telling me to choose a lower deductible plan next year and to avoid going to other clinics. It felt like she was more worried about her insurance reimbursements than my well-being. In the end, despite the good massage and acupuncture, I just can’t continue going back. The constant pressure, the boundary-crossing, and the disorganized atmosphere have completely ruined the experience for me.

Negative experience: They cheat on insurances. They told you they can take the insurance over the phone, but they force you to pay additional cash after the therapy. Full of fraud!

I had severe shoulder and back pains that kept me up at night … after 3 weeks of Accupuncture / cupping and COPD therapy I feel like myself again .. the office team is kind and accommodating and I would surely recommend .. am still coming here to gain 100%mobility

As a tech professional and gym goer, getting a massage and a pinch regularly does help to relax my muscle and remove pains from muscle knots. The place is super clean and every room has zen-like tranquilizing vibe. Strongly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dr. Long - she's worked miracles on some scar tissue that I've been dealing with for years.. I've spent so much money doing acupuncture, massages, physical therapy at other places, but it always felt like a bandaid to the root issue - just temporary, not long-lasting relief. Dr. Long's style of acupuncture is something that I haven't come across before and it's worked wonders to get rid of the scar tissue/myofascial pain that was limiting regular range of movement on my upper left side. I will continue to go and see her.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Hopewell Acupuncture! I am very grateful for everything they have done for me to help with my health. I have been managing a neurological condition for the past 4 years or so, and seeing them has helped a lot of my symptoms in the most recent flare up in which I had trouble with walking, fatigue, as well as several other symptoms. I have been receiving acupuncture and herbal medicine since the summer in conjunction with physical therapy, and it has made a world of difference for me. The team here has been very supportive, and I very grateful for their expertise. I believe they have been a crucial part in regaining my independence. 100% recommend them!

Fantastic experience: My child had some recurring headaches and their pediatrician recommended trying acupuncture to try to address them. We went to Hopewell to see the doctors there, and are so happy that we did. Dr. Dawson and Dr. Long took the time to understand my child's pains, activities, eating habits and more. They explained how acupuncture and massage therapy would help with the headaches by addressing various imbalances in the body, including weak/achy back muscles that my child didn't notice much but apparently were contributing to the headaches. After just a handful of acupuncture and massage treatments, the headaches lessened significantly in frequency and intensity. They also utilized some other treatment techniques as needed, including herbal treatments. After a few months of weekly treatments, the headaches disappeared and have not come back. Thanks so much! I also had some back, neck, and hip pains over the last few months, and Hopewell has been so helpful with each of my issues. Hopewell provided massage therapy, acupuncture, sometimes mild electrical stimulation to various muscles, plus herbal treatments ... and also provided some light exercises, stretches, and self-massage recommendations to do at home. Great service, and great results. And it's not just Dr. Long and Dr. Dawson who have been great; they also have multiple other knowledgeable doctors and massage therapists to assist in the treatments, and all their staff have been wonderful.

Fantastic experience: Little gem of a place; I can't believe I walked by it so many times when visiting a doctor in the same complex so many years ago and never tried it. But, better late than never! I've tried quite a number of acupuncturists around the area and these guys definitely stand out. Originally, I thought I'd give them a try partially because they were much closer to my house and partially because our new insurance is awful and many providers, including my prior acupuncturist, have trouble working with it. My initial set of treatments were similar to my experiences with other acupuncturists: mild relief but nothing too lasting. I was happy because I was at least getting some relief and it was getting covered successfully by my lame insurance. I mentioned this to Dr. D. and he was clearly less satisfied than I was. He said he wanted to switch gears and started doing things that were different than any other acupuncturists I've been to: something closer to dry needling (pi jing?), acugraph, energy balance electrodes, etc. The first time with the new protocol I immediately felt my body moving and functioning in new ways. On my most recent visit, I had the most profound relaxation imaginable. Normally, I leave an acupuncturist super relaxed, but then halfway through driving home I'm back to normal. This time it lasted well into the next day. Unlike my normal self, I was the most hyper-relaxed unproductive useless lump of goo imaginable the entire rest of the day; it was lovely (luckily I have a flexible schedule and could just veg the rest of the day). I slept phenomenally that night. He has a picture of Dr. House in the treatment room. I think it's fitting. I mean, not at all the bedside manner or temper or anything like that. But, he's clearly there for the thrill of the puzzle and figuring out how to use all the tools he's amassed to help people. He's not trying to just get people in, get people out. Rather, he sees you as a challenge to bring well-being to. Even if you're content, he's not satisfied until he's really got you to well-being.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Long - I would give her 6 stars if it was an option. She has helped me resolve two different health issues which have been chronic for the past several years (Sleep disorder and Weight Loss). I've seen two M.D. Sleep specialists and a health coach, with zero positive impact, until now. After two weeks working with Dr. Long and following her advice on some minor lifestyle changes - I saw major improvement! Life altering improvements. (I'm going to skip details since we're talking about Wight Loss, after all) She has a very great demeanor, gets to the root of the issue and suggests a plan. She is supportive and positive. I highly recommend her!
