Atlantis Physical Therapy

Fantastic experience: I used to be very active and worked out, hard, 3-5 times/wk. Age is catching up with me and now for the last two years, I have been in pain and agony. My pain is on my left side, specifically, in my lower back, hip, quad & shin. Ruth (the owner) and the staff at Atlantis PT came highly recommended by a colleague. I made three consecutive appointments with Ruth, for the first week, Mon., Wed & Fri. By Friday, the nagging pain in my shin and hip went away. Ruth gave me some stretches/exercised to do at home and when it flairs up, I do the stretches & it works! My piriformis says, ahhhh! YAY!

Fantastic experience: Lindsay Yoshiba, DPT, is very knowledgeable and professional. She works to identify issues, listens to my concerns and adjust my treatment accordingly. She continuously evaluating on how my body responds to manipulations and stretching motions. She sends videos and written instructions after each visit, along with email to check in. The Atlantis Physical Therapy and Balance Center staff works as a team and are helpful, caring, and easy to work with.

Fantastic experience: I went to Atlantis because I had occasional episodes of vertigo. The staff there is courteous and friendly. My physical therapist, Ruth, listened intently and patiently to the history of my symptoms and then gently manipulated me to help diagnose the cause. She is kind and professional. Her treatment has been reducing my symptoms more each session. I will choose Atlantis if and when I have any future need for physical therapy.

Fantastic experience: My physical therapist Lindsey is very personal, knowledgeable and skillful, she identified the issues with my posture within few minutes after we met in person. She is very sweet, caring and gentle when assisting me in all the exercises under her instructions. She not only provided me with a printed take-home instructions, she also emailed me several very clear and easy-to-follow instructional videos via email. I was very impressed how efficient she was in handling all the technical and professional services. Fantastic experience: I am new to this area and just had surgery for a knee replacement. I needed a physical therapist right away and had no recommendations. Called Atlantis, they had an opening so I thought I’d try them. You can always change. No need to change. This place is fantastic.I believe that my recovery is speeding here. Fantastic experience: My therapist was Ruth karihara she is extremely knowledgeable and resolved my vertigo within a few visits. I had tremendous relief after the first session. I had suffered debilitating dizziness for over a week before seeing her. She explained everything and was very compassionate, she also is working with me to correct some balance issues resulting from the vertigo. Fantastic experience: Michael Louis is a miracle worker! After shoveling snow for 2 hours I could hardly walk. I went to an orthopedic doctor who told me it was a pulled muscle and to just want until it healed. After 2 weeks still in pain I went to see Michael Louis. He said my pelvis was out of line. He worked on me and gave me exercises to do at home. I had instant relief before I even left his office. I would recommend him to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Very happy with the PT at Atlantis after ankle surgery! Dwight listened to my concerns and gave me exercises to do which would help in those areas. I was unsure if I would continue to see progress as it had been a while since my surgery. I made continual progress during the weeks of PT. He also spent a good amount of time manually working on my ankle and having various therapeutic treatments applied (laser, electrical stimulation, etc...). I believe it was a combination of all these things which produced results. On top of that, the entire staff is friendly and supportive.

Fantastic experience: Of all the physical therapists I have worked with only Atlantis has provided personalized, hands on therapy on a one to one basis without interruption or lapses in treatment. Others have juggled patients often leaving one waiting for the next round of treatment, not at Atlantis. Fantastic experience: I have been a client of Atlantis Physical Therapy intermittently for about 17 years. My lower spine is a disaster, and I would be in a wheelchair if I hadn’t had the help of several doctors and Atlantis Physical Therapy to cope with my growing set of problems. In the last 18 months a deterioration of my ability to walk (or even to stand) has been particularly troubling. Contrary to warnings not to get my hopes up, I have regained feeling in the bottoms of my feet and enough balance to walk with only occasional help from a cane. Atlantis has used a number of techniques to address my problems and has presented my body with a continuing set of challenges so that it can improve incrementally. Often my body hasn’t improved enough to handle a new challenge, but I’m never criticized for my failures. Instead suggestions are made to help me move ahead. My wife had a severe problem at the other end of the spine (a cervical problem). She was a patient at Atlantis for a few weeks – that’s all it took for the Atlantis staff to solve the problem without surgery or medications. What a relief. Fantastic experience: The staff and Dwight create a relaxing, caring atmosphere so I can relax and concentrate on getting rid of back pain. Dwight is very good at asking questions and making observations to recommend treatment and exercises. I highly recommend Atlantis.

Fantastic experience: I have experienced wonderful treatment from Michael Louis. A few years ago I had a TMJ problem. With much help at APT, I learned how to manage the pain with many treatments and then with instructions for home exercises. The problem is gone! I am now going back for another problem and am hoping for the same excellent results.

And best of all after a few sessions I have improved a lot! I will recommend this clinic in Torrance. where all employees are friendly and cleans equipments all the time!

Fantastic experience: Atlantis PT has a great staff of highly skilled Physical Therapists who are truly devoted to their clients’ well-being. What really stood out to me is how much they care about helping their clients achieve their goals whether that be re-gaining the use of a particular body part or managing pain. They really customize the treatment to your particular needs and they listen to your feedback. It’s not a “factory” like other places I’ve been to. And aside from the great work they do, everybody is warm and friendly. That makes it fun to go to your PT sessions. I tell everybody about Atlantis.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Atlantis Physical Therapy by 3 friends who successfully completed rehab for their needs after surgery, one for hip replacement, one for knee replacement and one for shoulder injury. I was suffering with low back pain. Back Xray showed problems with herniation of L3-L4, above fusion site of L5-S1 surgery done 10 years earlier. I had also just completed chemo and radiation treatments. I was met with a warm staff and diagnosed for treatment by Dwight Kelsey. He is fantastic. After first treatment, a relief was felt and I continue to go twice a week for core stability exercises and strength building. If you are looking for a practice that gives results, this is the place.

He knows what works and is very good at changeing things up so they do not become monotonous. He is caring and a great listener. Glad to have had him through this rough time. Fantastic experience: I have used the services of Atlantis PT for about seventeen years. They have treated and relieved many of my painful conditions over the years including a partially fractured right achilles tendon, a chronically painful left achilles tendon, lower back pain, and pain in a muscle in my left arm. They are currently help relieve crippling pain in my right knee, after just six weeks I'm walking much better and am hopeful to get off the cane soon. They treat the entire body and the entire human being with extraordinary care. As a bonus, the people are a joy to be around and they really do treat you as if you are a member of their loving family.
