The team at Providence Vancouver Rehabilitation specializes in a comprehensive approach to rehab – combining manual therapy, patient education and therapeutic exercise to enhance your recovery and let you return to work and life in the shortest time possible.

We believe in tackling the problem head on to get to the root of the issue and provide a long-term solution that is attentive to each patient. We emphasize a hands-on approach, progressing to independent management through exercise and patient education for the most effective treatment to get to the underlying cause of the problem and help our patients achieve their goals in a comfortable environment.

Providence specializes in a comprehensive approach, combining manual therapy, patient education and therapeutic exercise to enhance the recovery of our patients and return them to work and life in the shortest time possible. Here’s what to expect along your journey to maximum recovery and during your first visit to our clinic:

Your treatment begins with a focused evaluation, which includes health history and overall health assessment. A physical examination relative to your injury is then conducted to get a baseline assessment of your situation to enable us to begin the appropriate treatment specific to your needs.

Your treatment program will initially focus on relieving your symptoms and stabilizing your condition. This will be accomplished using a wide range of interventions to facilitate necessary physical changes. Treatment then progresses to strengthening and regaining maximum movement and function without pain. Exercise and strengthening programs are tailored to meet individual goals and assist in this process. In addition, you will learn ways to prevent future problems and maintain health. You will spend every visit one on one with your same therapist.

Since your understanding and participation in your treatment program are essential to achieving your goals as quickly as possible, you will be taught strategies to take control of your body and its healing process from day one. Education is part of what we do as physical therapists. Expect to receive a home program that will include both flexibility and strengthening techniques.

Open communication is vital between you and your therapist, and we encourage you to ask questions during the course of your therapy. You should never be afraid to ask questions. It’s your body.

Throughout treatment, you will establish a relationship with your physical therapist and gain valuable knowledge that empowers you to take control of your physical health and experience the best physical health life can offer.

In order to make the most of your physical therapy sessions, we ask that you wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing. Exercise clothing, such as sweats, t-shirts and shorts are most appropriate.

Because you are the primary focus of our care, your active participation is essential to a successful rehabilitation program. These guidelines are highly recommended to enhance the achievement of your goals:

We accept cash, check, debit card, and credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Debit Cards). Co-pay or services are due at time of visit. We are happy to discuss payment plan options.

Physical Therapy combines the science of medicine with the art of manual therapy. It is a hands-on approach to healthcare. Physical Therapists evaluate your movement patterns, identify the cause of your injury or pain, and work to eliminate it. While every patient’s injury and pain is unique, we use various techniques to get you back to your pre-injury condition. The overall goal is to restore your mobility and function with improved joint protection to prevent the injury from reoccurring.

Physical therapists must graduate from an accredited post baccalaureate program, pass their state board examination and maintain a current level of professional knowledge annually with continuing education courses. Depending on the university, a physical therapy program is either a Masters (Masters of Science – MS) or doctorate level degree (Doctorate of Physical Therapy – DPT).

This depends on the extent and nature of your injury. Typically you will begin to feel the effects and benefits of physical therapy after your first or second visit. Our main goal is to get you back to your pre-injury function.

Each patient’s diagnosis is unique and together with your referring physician, your physical therapist will develop a plan of care that is specific to you. Your plan of care and the number of visits will most likely be determined during your initial visit.

At Providence Vancouver Rehabilitation, you'll have access to a vast network of dedicated and compassionate providers who offer personalized care by focusing on treatment, prevention and health education.

As expressions of God's healing love, witnessed through the ministry of Jesus, we are steadfast in serving all, especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

Providence Vancouver Rehabilitation: Reviews

Fantastic experience: 18 years in the military and an injury was bound to happen, a herniated disc in my lower back. By the time I got to Providence Vancouver Rehabilitation there wasn't much that they could do for me but after a round of steroid injections through my orthopedic doctor, I went back and was seen by their physical therapist Joseph Marcil. He was always kind and caring of my situation and helped me navigate my way through the difficult process of healing. He gave me invaluable advice and guidance and was fair and flexible with my availability and scheduling. I did still end up having surgery and am now 7 months post operation and back to feeling 100%. Joseph and his team played a significant part in my road to recovery, and I can't thank them enough for their care and working with me. I will absolutely be asking for a referral back to their clinic for any future physical therapy needs! Thank you guys!
