Community Health Center, Inc.: Reviews
Fantastic experience: The Doctor that took care of me Amy Smith was real caring and attentive to all my needs. I highly recommend this place. My whole family comes here.
Fantastic experience: I like how the personal attendance, BUT ITS SO HARD TO CALL AND TALK WITH THE MACHINE FOR DO THE APPOINTMENTS, NEVER UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU NEED!
Fantastic experience: Customer service A+ Staff member always nice and courteous, Highly recommend this place
Fantastic experience: Love the Telehealth staff!
Fantastic experience: My primary care physician is the best I have ever had. Who knew I would find such a great doctor at a clinic. Ni matter how busy she is she always gets back to me at least by message and takes care of any issue I may have even now with the covid-19 pandemic. I couldnt recommend a better place to go for your primary care but do not go there if you are looking for help with a mental illness the psychiatrist if you can call him that is a joke! He showed up to one of my appointments in Harry Potter robes and it was not even close to halloween.he is very unprofessional he doesn't listen doesn't care how you feel or how the meds are affecting you. Once he has made up his mind thats it even if the medication and himself is hurting more than their helping. Plus getting your medication on time with the right instructions is like pulling teeth from him. I have had to have other doctors step in and call my medication in over a dozen times even my pharmacist is tierd of dealing with him. I am stuck with him due to covid-19 and he is the only doctor or nurse that can prescribed that type of medication. Any type of mental illness go somewhere else. Other than that the staff nurses and all the others that keep that place running are great they go so far out of their way to make sure everything is done on time and the right way. I find myself talking to the nurses more than almost anyone else because they really care whats going on with you and how they can help or send you in the right direction for help. Besides the one guy in the mental health area I give CHC a A++ and would recommend it to anyone.
Fantastic experience: Glenda Rodriguez was amazing from the call center , she thoroughly helped and cared for my aunts situation . she was amazing and stayed on the phone with us until our situation was figured out . ❤❤
Positive experience: Great doctor
Positive experience: Like it here I feel more comfort if you make an appointment quick in and out and they do try Thier best to help you
Fantastic experience: First things first: that one front desk lady? Yeah, she is brusque, even rude, as her seeming default mode... but I found that being nice to her 'primes the pump' and she will then be cordial in return. I haven't had a problem with her in over a year now. Next up: physician turnover. Yeah, this was bad for a while and may still be bad going forward, but sometimes there's nothing an office can do to prevent caregivers from going elsewhere or even leaving the workforce entirely. (A tip for when you get a busy signal at the Waterbury number: call a different location, such as Bristol; they're all interlinked so that you can make appointments, get test results etc. by calling any CHC location.) Overall, though, both my wife and I have had overwhelmingly positive experiences at CHC. They're good at recruiting quality, caring medical professionals (with a couple of exceptions: we had bad experiences with APRN Amy Smith and Dr. Duke), so even when they lose a good provider, they generally find as good or better a provider to replace them. They're good with making appropriate specialist referrals and with keeping our refill authorizations up to date -- important stuff when you're disabled like my wife and I are. We regularly recommend them, especially to other Medicaid enrollees who think they're stuck with the 'quality' of places like Staywell Health Center (you'd better stay well, because you'll get no help there). They're conveniently located downtown, just off the bus line, though it's true that at certain times of day (e.g. Mondays until around 11:30) the parking lot is packed and some patients have to park on the street. Still and all, for the type of practice this is, CHC vastly outperforms its competitors in Waterbury.
Positive experience: I read all the comments and I would say that I agree about the front lady who use the glasses, she is a little rude. But otherwise, all of them are very friendly and professional . There is a young African-American girl at the front desk who is very polite and nice. The nurses are very cool and professional especially Maria, a Portuguese lady very sweet and professional. Dr. Daniel Smith is also very good and always ready to explain anything you ask. Please, think before you write, because you are damaging the reputation of a good place. I have United Health Insurance and I still go there because they treat me with respect., they always keep my appointments and has a service a walking service with a very professional and sweet Doctor called Wendy. She is the best!! If you go there put on your best smile and attitude and you will see that they are good people.
