Cheshire House

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff. We visited Shirley Baummer this past weekend. Kaley and Ebony were both exceptionally helpful and made us feel assured that mom is in good hands there.

Fantastic experience: The residents seem very content. I m member of the prospect senior center songbirds. We visit Cheshire house approx 3-4 times a year and sing for the residents. Today 9-11-23 there was a great group of residents and many of them sang along with us which makes our day. We hopefully bring them some joy and they definitely bring us lots of joy.

Fantastic experience: I visited my mother @ Cheshire House today (where she was admitted last evening for physical rehabilitation in their subacute wing). Her room is well appointed & facing a lovely courtyard with a view of a bird feeder right outside of her windows (which she very much enjoys). The staff here were very attentive and helpful to us while I was there. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to others for similar needs in the future.

Fantastic experience: The nurses were great with my mom. Some of the aides were very rude towards my mom. The social worker Lynn was great. Physical Therapy was wonderful with my mom helping her get the mobility.

Fantastic experience: People r very nice & knowledgeable. Didn’t like how no one come to check on my Dad because he is a fall risk & has dementia. I realize when we r there they don’t have to come in but no one checked. Which is scary to know that when we r not there. He might try to walk his self!

Fantastic experience: My wife needed to go to her doctor for a pre op for her surgery next week. I needed help to get her in and out of her car. The male nurse in the Cambridge unit ( sorry I forgot his name) went out of his way to find someone to help me. He found Donte. And she was willing to help us. Thank you both for helping us. Fantastic experience: Went as an outpatient for physical therapy. Staff made sure I was comfortable and they were with me every step of the way. I will never go anywhere else again and will recommend them to anyone who needs similar services.

Fantastic experience: My mom here for short term rehab. The staff is very kind. The room is spacious. I would ask the floors be cleaner. Overall a great experience!

Fantastic experience: A friend is in the Rehab wing and it was very clean and spacious. The nurses, aides and specialists were all friendly and attentive.

Positive experience: So far I am happy with the care my mother is receiving. I wasn’t happy yesterday when I saw her and she was in a small and low transit chair most of the day because her wheelchair with her name on it was taken and no one, aides that is, seemed to care to look for it until the 3:00 shift nurse took the time to look and find it. So not all aides care. The transit chair was too low and made it difficult for her to eat her breakfast and lunch. Plus it isn’t a long term chair to sit in to begin with. I am happy for the care immediately on her feet and keeping her safe and the therapy she is getting. She will have been there a week tomorrow, Monday so over a week and no bath or shower. She feels awful and doesn’t want to leave her room because of her hair. It took 3 days for asking for a cup for her dentures and finally a nurse cared and brought her one on the 4th day. She was told Tuesdays are a once a week bath/shower. So I will bring her some dry shampoo for her. She is happy with the meals. I have no bad complaints about Cheshire House but wished all the aides cared. I had asked for her to go there when being released from the ER and hospital. I am happy with the cleanliness of the place.

Fantastic experience: I stayed in the Cambridge section of the Cheshire house from June 23rd thru July 1st after major leg surgery. What a delightful group of nurses, I wish I could remember all their names! I recall a few names, Lala, Patti....and many more, I can see their faces but their names escape me. The nursing supervisor, Doreen is an earth Angel. From the minute I arrived she was right on top of everything!!! Check on me throughout my stay, making sure I was comfortable. There therapy department is top notch, I worked with a few therapists, recreational and physical and they were all wonderful. So much so that I am now going to out therapy at Cheshire House with Kelly!! Love her! Thank you for making something I quite honestly dreaded, into a pleasant experience. God Bless you all. Fantastic experience: Cheshire House is a great place to work when you say team ,they are really a team and a family .They welcomed me in there family the residents and the staff . The staff goes above and beyond the duties. This was the best move i made and tell everyone if your family need care this is the place.

Fantastic experience: My Mom has been at Cheshire House since all patients were evacuated from the nursing home where she had been staying for more than 3 years. The staff at Cheshire House has been amazing. Every person working there, from the administrator, to the nurses, to the aides, to the kitchen staff, to the housekeeping staff, to the therapy staff, to the maintenance staff…..EVERY SINGLE PERSON I have met there is fantastic!!! Every staff person says hello to the patients. The nursing staff and the aides are so caring and compassionate. I would highly recommend this facility.

Fantastic experience: My mother in law was there for just 5 days before passing. During this time they offered nothing but compassion for her and for us. A special thank you to Nicole for your compassion and excellent care. Thank you all.
