We are a small hospital with limited resources. In order to provide individualized care, we must be efficient. That means we need to design processes well and reexamine them often to determine if they are running as expected and if they could be made more efficient.

Again recognizing we are a very small hospital with limited resources, in order to be efficient we must also be effective. We seek to do the right thing, right - the first time and well enough that the “right thing” is effective and not necessary then to repeat.

Caring is anticipating and meeting people’s needs. It is sensing anxiety, loneliness, hurt and anger. Caring is responding to these feelings quickly and in a manner that is supportive.

Leadership is an attitude, not a position. Leaders seek to maintain the vision of the whole including mission and values. Leaders recognize failure as ways and means of learning, leaders celebrate success.
