Fantastic experience: After extensive shoulder surgery, the team at Albany PT brought me back to health. Their patience and experience helped me to navigate the challenges that arose over the six-month rehabilitation. The front office staff were unfailingly kind and calm and supported my scheduling needs. I am very grateful to Albany PT, and especially Elayne and Ann Michelle, for helping me to achieve a fully recovery.

Fantastic experience: Ann Michelle Ongerth, Clincal Director, and her staff have been instrumental in supporting my 22 year old college student with her recovery from a winter break ACL knee surgery. She had only 3-weeks to get strong enough post surgery to return to campus for the next quarter and be independent enough to get around mostly on her own. Ucla is a hilly campus with very limited parking so this seemed like a daunting goal, but with Albany Physical Therapy’s expert guidance and treatment, she was able to meet this goal! I can’t express my gratitude strongly enough for Ann Michelle and the staff as a mother, knowing my daughter is now stable enough and ready to return to school to continue her healing journey. My daughter entered in extreme pain and after only two weeks is able to exercise and move on her own. The staff have been so caring and prioritized getting her appointments because they saw how much she needed them. The most effective, supportive, thoughtful, and fun physical therapy you could hope for!

Fantastic experience: This review is specifically for Ariel - she is the best PT I've ever had! I went in multiple times for hip, lower back, and sciatica-related help. Ariel is really knowledgeable and also really kind and encouraging. I would tell her about some pain or discomfort then she would test the area and give me an exercise that always helped. Her explanations were clear and I always left feeling supported and encouraged. From the beginning, I told her that I wondered if I could ever go backpacking again. After seeing my x-rays and working with me, she assessed that there was no reason why I couldn't go. So she gave me tons of different exercises with increasing difficulty levels that I could adjust as I got stronger (even in-between visits). Perhaps even more importantly, she understood right away that my previous PT had discouraged me and seemed to figure out exactly the kind of advice to give me. Bottom line - about a year later I went backpacking and felt good about it and didn't have any problems with my hip or back on the trip. I highly recommend Ariel - she is hands down the best PT I've ever worked with!!

Fantastic experience: If you get here to this facility stop looking - it's the place to be that will help you recover in short order - no short cuts but outstanding care and attention to your progress and recovery. Use of metrics are taken in order to baseline and validate your continued incremental results. I know as I had close to 50 PT sessions. All the personnel from the back and front office are great. And the Physical Therapist that you will meet to care for you are outstanding and vested in you from day one. I Highly recommend this facility. E. Mora

Fantastic experience: Ann Michelle is a hero! When we walked in my son could barely walk with a walker. He had fractured his tibial tubercle and avulced his patella tendon two months earlier, and had been bedridden for two months. Almost immediately upon beginning treatment with Ann Michelle, my son finally started to regain mobility. She was fiercely dedicated to getting him back up on his feet walking, and even back to snowboarding again eventually. Her deep knowledge of the body and how it heals was stunning. Her cheerful demeanor was as healing as her massage and strengthening work. My son is devoted to her and we are all deeply grateful. We also had a good experience with the front desk staff and scheduling has been smooth and easy (once we got in).

Fantastic experience: I have had Physical Therapy a few times in the past. Albany Physical Therapy has been EXCELLENT! Spencer saw me through back, knee and hip issues last year and this year. The care and kindness I received was awesome. I really appreciated his calmness and caring for my issues. I highly recommend Albany Physical Therapy. The staff was always on top of things.

Fantastic experience: I’ve used them a few times and they’re my favorite among the three shops I’ve tried. Sometimes PT can fix an ailing joint surprisingly well, for example. It really works.

Fantastic experience: I've been to P/T a few times before, but this was the best experience I've had. Spencer was clear, kind, and very effective. I'm now running again, and I was discharged after five sessions (and the homework between sessions), which is less than insurance covered. Not only did the stretches and exercises help, but Spencer gave me a great understanding of what was going on in my knee, which will help tremendously in the future. Anyway, can't recommend highly enough! Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Albany Phyical Therapy is awesome!! We drove 30 miles and braved traffic to see therapist Ann Michelle and she is so amazing!!! We have seen many therapists elsewhere and she is by far the very best. The clinic is so professional and friendly as well.

Fantastic experience: Although there is often a long waitlist to get in, they are incredible PT’s. Their office is organized, friendly, and efficient. They listen, aren’t afraid to troubleshoot with you and spend the time needed to give you the best care possible.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough about the staff at this location. You cannot ask for a more caring group if individuals who love what they are doing and care about delivering their best to each patient. My parents received excellent care from the therapists and we appreciate them all so much. The ladies at the front desk are friendly and helpful whenever I have questions or concerns with appointments. Ann Michelle goes out of her way to ensure that patients with special needs get the extra attention they need. What a great group of people.

Negative experience: This place is Terrible, the Therapist just give you 30 minutes to learn exercises? Are you serious! Not only that but they charge an outrageous amount of money even with insurance. Do yourself a favor and find a better place with more caring Physical Therapist

Fantastic experience: The front desk staff at Albany Physical Therapy located in Albany California are very nice and professional. The therapy rooms are spacious and come with an array of equipment to help one achieve mobility and comfort; whatever that means for each individual. I had the pleasure of working with Spencer Hino. He is very thorough and explaining the exercises and the benefits based upon one's needs. Spencer works with a person's comfort level. Ask for Spencer!

Fantastic experience: There's the bad luck of getting injured, and the good luck of getting a good PT. Albany Physical Therapy is the good luck. Spencer and Caitlin are astute and perceptive, delving into the nexus of my injury, then mapping the way back to full functionality. I feel safe in their hands. The admins have worked hard and cheerfully to get me appointments. In addition, this is a happy office, such an asset for healing!

Fantastic experience: Great PT. I feel better and stronger after seeing Tenzin than I did before I injured myself while running, and I feel equipped to prevent that from happening again by using the exercises I learned from him. Hopefully I won't need PT again but if I do I'm coming back here.

Fantastic experience: I recommend Albany PT to everyone who might need PT. They are the absolute best. Their therapists, esp Susan Freightman, are the only ones I've found who "get" my PT needs after long spine surgery (at UCSF Spine service, for complications of adult scoliosis, basically they realigned my entire body and rebuilt my spine). I tried another Berkeley PT practice and it was dismal; I did not return after one visit. I have made amazing improvement over the past year. The UCSF Spine service has the information about this practice in their database now, to refer their patients in the East Bay. Susan is so upbeat and positive, always encouraging me.

Fantastic experience: Susan Freightman is the "BEST" physical therapist in the Bay Area. After 4 knee surgeries and many different physical therapists over the years, I can honestly say I wouldn't go anywhere else or see anyone. Unfortunately, we switched insurance and I am paying out of pocket, but it is worth it. Susan is always positive and has a smile on her face. She holds me accountable for my exercises, which keeps me honest about doing them. I can't say enough about how she has helped my knees post surgery.

Positive experience: What has become of Albany Physical Therapy ?! I have been coming here for 20 years to have treatment for my back problems, but I was surprise to see at my recent visit how much the treatment has changed to the worse. It is no longer a place where healing takes place with the help of a professional And caring therapyst but a technical „do it yourself“ instructions of exercises. I have decided that I am looking now for another place.to have my treatments in the future. EO

Everyone, from the ladies at the front desk, to my physical therapist, is extraordinarily professional, polite, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. I’ve been to various physical therapists over the years, and I would without hesitation, give Albany P.T. ten stars if it was an option. Here’s a first place medal instead. ❤️
