Fantastic experience: Prefect

Positive experience: In early October, my father, underwent two weeks of rehab care at Fairlawn following a severe car accident. The staff, comprising of OT, PT, nursing, case managers Jason, Jessica, and doctors, provided exceptional care for my father during his short-term rehab. From the receptionist to the doctors, everyone showed great care for my father. There was only one issue I encountered when a violent and unstable patient was temporarily placed in the same room as my dad and attacked him. However, I promptly brought this concern to the attention of the staff, and they swiftly moved the patient to another room for safety reasons. Despite this incident, my father received excellent care from the Fairlawn team, and I am truly grateful for that. I am highly impressed with Fairlawn and rate the facility four stars and a half ⭐⭐⭐⭐. I recommend this Rehab.Thank you .

Fantastic experience: My brother was a patient here and the care was amazing. I was so inspired by the care that I wanted to be part of such a team. Despite being offered many positions I decided to join the Fairlawn Team. I am proud to work here.

Fantastic experience: Honestly I was disappointed to need rehab after surgery, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Very helpful staff in every department. The daily physical and occupational therapy made a real impact in getting me ready to go home safely. Case management made valuable connections for ongoing services.

Positive experience: Despite having a different preferred rehab hospital, my uncle needed to be transferred here after he finished inpatient post-op care at Umass Memorial. But it ended up being a very pleasant experience. Everyone I interacted with by phone or in person were friendly and knew what they were doing. My uncle was very happy with the nursing staff and the OT he worked with. The only downside was that my uncle said the PT refused to evaluate him on crutches and opted only to use a walker. I understand this from a rehab perspective, but he is very accustomed to using crutches and felt he didn't gain as much strength as he could have because of using only the walker. She also told him that no doorway was too narrow for a walker, but our bathroom is. Aside from this, we were very happy with his care and conversation here and would certainly consider returning if needed in the future.

Fantastic experience: A lot of patients and families who interact with Fairlawn are going through veryy difficult challenges of health and money they are unused to. When my senior Dad needed care my family sprang to action, had lots of questions and not enough answers. But when we interacted with the gracious and expert staff at Fairlawn Worcester, our needs were expertly handled. Grateful to Joy at first who stayed calm during our “storm” and delivered clear and accurate info. The direct care team was thoroughly positive and on track at all times. I don’t think all families will be as involved as I was in my Dad’s stay at Fairlawn, but I don’t think I needed to be as active as I was. Once I realized how good they were treating Dad, I was finally able to take a breathe, cut my visits down by half and trust their doctors, nurses and other clinicians. It was a much needed break. I highly recommend. Dad is home now and still going through the journey of recovery. But I’ve been able to process how integral Fairlawn was and am grateful we decided to trust them. Our case worker Meg was generous in guidance about all sorts of things as well. I was not paid to post this review. If you found it helpful, please thumbs up. Good luck to you all.

Fantastic experience: I want to thank everyone for getting me walking again, the staff was great from nurses, CNAs, PT and OT, you all did a fantastic job getting me to where I had to be to get home and going about normal activities, thank you again ,to all of you in PT and OT, I will never forget what you have done for me, and I have to give credit to management also, you are the best, and the kitchen was also great

Fantastic experience: I just left the facility on Monday the 15th of May. I was there for 2 weeks and I have to say the staff and doctors are amazing. The OT and PT staff are also amazing. The doctors sit with you and actually listen you what you have to say they just don’t brush what you say away they care about your thoughts and needs. The CNA morning and night was amazing and outstanding. What I really liked about this facility was the staff don’t let you give on yourself as much as you feel like you can’t do it they assure you that you can do it and they believe in you. I would recommend this place to my worst enemy, because Fairlawn rehabilitation hospital is the best hands down .

Fantastic experience: The staff and facility was great. My only. disappointment was transportation. The facility absorbed transportation to and from medical appointments. However I was invoiced $200 for the four mile transport from the hospital. Twenty-five dollars per mile to get to your site in a van seems unreasonable. It would be appreciated if the facility could negotiate prices with the companies providing the service. Especially since they are using these companies such as Coastal ( who transported me) already and would have some leverage in negotiation for Fairlawn Hospital trips. Thanks for listening.

Positive experience: From start to finish my experience with Fairlawn. What is a at any time one. The staff was wonderful. The treatment plan was simple yet complete and we got it done in the time suggested it. I feel safe at home and continue to get stronger. I recommend Phil on rehab, that’s Fairlawn rehab without any recommendation without any reservations at reservations at any

Positive experience: Was here in late September and now here again for separate reasons. The DAY staff is absolutely amazing and willing to work with you and your goals and doctors check in everyday and it helps that you have a schedule for when things will happen. The NIGHT staff has 1-2 good nurses and 1-2 good CNAs. They don’t understand when you have a migraine you need more quiet and darkness, they come in randomly at night turning on the nights with no warning, banging doors shut, most the nurses clearly didn’t read your chart or know why you’re there. One nurse knew I got pain meds but was a sliding scale of what number equaled what dose and he didn’t ask me the whole night what scale he just gave me whatever he wanted to which messed up my pain awfully. They were rude, acting like they didn’t want to be there honestly and had better things to do. Feel so bad for 1-4 night staff that are amazing!

Fantastic experience: Everything went well with my mothers stay after a minor stroke. Therapists were awesome nurses were great. Had a little difficulty calling and getting hold of a nurse to talk to. Overall a great experience.

Fantastic experience: I had fallen and really couldn’t get back up. An ambulance took me to the hospital where I learned my multiple myeloma caused me to not have good control of my left leg. Explained why I fell for sure. I had actually fallen twice. Last fall was off my concrete and bricks y my front door. I just didn’t listen to my wife for her help.I fell down the two steps, over our sidewalk and landed in the dirt. An ambulance got me to umass and I was there for just short of 2 weeks. The Fairlawn rehab. Center. The rebab center worked hard with me. I made a lot of great progress and could walk really pretty well with a walker. The human brain amazes me. It was rewriting how I controls my left leg. I don’t have complete control back but it’ll slowly happen. This rehab center was absolutely wonderful In everything. You’d think easy stuff was easy - For example they actually have great food, not like a hospital. Simple but works great. The staff were all friendly and helped me a lot. So it’s a wonderful place that I don’t know hew I’d improve it at all.

Fantastic experience: Nice, clean atmosphere, good people My mom (87) was transferred here on Friday 9/11/20 after 3 days at UMASS hospital due to a bad fall. Our family were concerned and worried about the care she would receive here. We were wrong! On behalf of our mom and her children, we want to "THANK YOU " to all the staff who were dedicated, enthusiastic, courteous, and professional during her 7 days stay. The therapy staff did an exceptional job! Thanks to Shannon, Laurie, and Meagan for support and understanding. The facility is clean and the food is good. The receptionists will welcome you with a friendly smile.

Fantastic experience: I survived a Traumatic Brain Injury in 2015 and after a virtually hopeless prognosis I miraculously recovered! I was then sent to Fairlawn Rehab in Worcester. My experience there was GREAT! I remember how competent and warm the staff was with me during such a difficult time. My stay at this rehab compared to the hospital was 5 star hotel status! Thank you! - FRANKIE BORRERO

Positive experience: I spent 2 months at Fairlawn and as much as I'm so happy with the staff, who are very friendly, there are some things that needs to be changed. It does have it's pros and cons: Pros: Nursing staff and RNTs are so very friendly and caring. Physical Therapy had me walking and very encouraging. Speech Pathology helped my brain reconnect to words, wonderful therapist. The floor's doctor an NP were very encouraging and helpful. Occupational Therapist taught me how to dress and shower again with a flaccid left side. Very friendly and great sense of humor. There is free wifi They helped apply for SSI Cons: Rooms are very small so if you have a roommate, bring earbuds so you can sleep. (I went through several before a walking group member joined me.) Although they got me walking, my arm was BARELY never had therapy on it and I still can't move it. The TVs are older than dinosaurs. The PT gym on the 2nd floor needs more equipment like the 3rd floor does. There is a patient snack bar, but no vending machine like the other floors. In the end, it's a good acute rehab, but be your own strong advocate or make sure someone will for you.
