Recovery Sports Therapy, Inc.: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I had bilateral Achilles tendinitis that wasn't resolving with rest and stretches. Nikki evaluated me and taught me better exercises, stretches and with massage and dry needling it resolved within a couple weeks and I have been pain free since! She is an expert in the field. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Niki is incredible! I was experiencing pain and discomfort with an achilles injury. She took the time to really understand how it was impacting me and helped to share with me a varierty of stretches and exercises to add to my daily routine that really worked! She recommended dry needling and for the first time in ages, I was walking around without discomfort. Very professional and caring, she is the best!
Fantastic experience: Niki is amazing! Her depth of knowledge and professionalism are bar none. Niki helped my daughter get back in the studio and to her full, competitive schedule. Niki also gave my daughter resources to learn more about and manage her symptoms. Hands down, Niki is incredible. If I could give her more stars, I would!
Fantastic experience: I began seeing Niki in Fall 2020; I had just learned I have a hypermobility disorder and was very nervous to see how a PT could help given how ill and disabled I am yet see put me at ease instantly. She is very good at learning where your life and body are at and working with you without any sort of judgement. She's incredibly practical and knowledgeable but unselfconscious about not having an answer. Even better, she has firsthand understanding of what it's like to live with, say, EDS, and have to work within the bounds of what your body allows or needs. I had no idea how much pain I was always in until I saw her and steadily rebuilt my physicality. I have sent multiple family members and friends and would recommend her to anyone, but especially to anyone with chronic conditions or mobility disorders that other providers can't help, don't understand, or even worsen. I'm very glad she found a place to branch out on her own (I followed her from another office) and find her pricing to be not only very reasonable, but always well spent!
Fantastic experience: Nikki has been our daughter’s therapist ever since she was small! Our daughter suffers from EDS but Nikki has helped put her back together. She is great at what she does and now that she has her own practice she has more freedom to do more!
Fantastic experience: I truly cannot speak highly enough of Nicole!! I started PT with her in the fall of 2022 and working with Nicole has already increased my quality of life. I have lived with pain and flare ups throughout adulthood that I never fully understood until I started at her practice. She is professional and knowledgeable and always listens attentively while providing multiple levels of support. The insight, knowledge, and instruction she has given me is invaluable. I am so grateful and excited to continue working with her!
Fantastic experience: Nicki is an exceptional practitioner. I have been going to her for many months now to re-learn how to operate my hypermobile body. She is the only PT I have been to who spends significant time doing body work with me in addition to teaching exercise routines. This combination of targeted massage with subtle manipulation and exercises has been an excellent formula for my recovery. She is well networked in the community and shares excellent referrals. One thing I have especially appreciated is that she listens carefully and asks good questions before giving advice. Given that I will be managing my condition for my entire life I can only hope that I’m fortunate enough to continue spending my time with such thoughtful, knowledgeable, and skillful practitioners. I recommend Nicki without reservation, especially to others living with chronic joint conditions such as hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
Fantastic experience: Dr Niki is a great, caring physical therapist who truly wants to see her patients heal and succeed. I highly recommend any athlete who needs assistance getting back to where they were or individuals with medical conditions to see Dr Niki!
Fantastic experience: When I say Nikki saved my life, I’m not being hyperbolic. When I first got my EDS diagnosis, I had no resources, I was in so much pain, and I was so traumatized from decades of mistreatment from doctors. Then I found Nikki. She is truly a godsend. She is so knowledgeable about this condition (more so than the 100’s of doctors I’ve seen). She didn’t just give me basic PT & send me on my way. She taught me about proper posture, positioning, movements regarding EDS, endless (in a good way lol) exercises to build strength, and she somehow also manages to fix all my problem areas and get them feeling good so I can make it to our next session. Her expansive and professional knowledge of EDS is so *valuable* to this community, I can’t put it into words. She taught me everything I know about living well with EDS. Most of us with EDS are familiar with medical trauma and falling through the cracks because still in 2022, most doctors don’t know anything about it. That makes it really, really, really hard to get the medical help and assistance we need. Nikki taught me enough to be able to navigate this so much better. And she has connected me with the resources that are available. Not to mention, she’s taught me lifesaving information about EDS, things doctors NEED to know in certain situations but never ask because again there’s a severe lack of EDS knowledge amongst doctors. Even in MA, even in Boston, I’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of doctors and the only person who knew about EDS was a periodontist. Nikki is my lighthouse. Whenever the pain is too much to bear and I panic because I don’t know what to do or I’m having an issue and don’t know who to call or ask about it - she’s there. And she’s there with practicality. She’s always fixed the problem causing the pain, gives me things I can do at home, and if appropriate she directs me to additional resources. Many of us with EDS know how easy it is to sublux things. Nikki knows how to gently and safely “put things back together” and even if something subluxes a few days later - sometimes I can fix it myself due to what Nikki has taught me. Or it’s manageable enough to get through until I see her again. I often arrive in her office close to tears because of pain and built up feelings of hopelessness and every single time I leave, my pain has dramatically decreased, I’m smiling, and maybe I notice the sunset on my way home :) I cannot understate how much Nikki and Recovery Sports Therapy has changed my life. My EDS is manageable, I’m able to continue working, I’m able to do activities that I love (safely). EDS before finding Recovery Sports Therapy was like a black hole for me. I struggled *so much* physically and mentally. But having EDS after finding Recovery Sports Therapy - I feel like I can do this. I feel like I can do anything. I have EDS so of course this review was mostly geared towards other EDSer’s looking for PT. But I think it’s important to say that I would come to Recovery Sports Therapy for *ANY* physical therapy you might need. Nikki is that good. After working with her for about 4 years, it is so clear that her expertise and skill level go above & beyond. There is nobody else I’d send my loved ones to for PT. I trust Nikki and Recovery Sports Therapy more than anyone else and my trust is not earned easily. Recovery Sports Therapy goes out of their way to ensure the comfort and safety of each and every one of their patients. It’s often very hard for me to go to any sort of medical appointment but I never ever have a problem or panic attacks going here. I always feel so safe, welcome, and diligently cared for and that means so much. Recovery Sports Therapy has no competition because they simply ARE the best in this entire state. I’ve spent the last 8 years seeing hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of doctors, specialists, physical therapists, acupuncturists, etc etc. I owe everything to Nikki and Recovery Sports Therapy and I am so freaking grateful. You will not regret coming to Recovery Sports Therapy, you’ll only regret NOT coming.
Fantastic experience: as an endurance athlete and martial artist I see Dr Dumas regularly to loosen up tight muscles, treat ailments and injuries. Seeing her has been made part of the self care routine.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dr. Nicole Dumas. She has helped me with my back and shoulder pain. I lift heavy materials daily and now I’m no longer in a lot of pain at work.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Niki to anyone who needs PT. I have been seeing her for almost 2 years now and she is phenomenal to work with. Her knowledge and professionalism is outstanding. I have a connective tissues disorder that causes me to have many problem areas. Niki always takes the time to address each issue I have, which has greatly improved my quality of life.
Fantastic experience: Highly recommended, Nicole diagnosed and treated our teen athlete.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Niki did dry needling on my golfers elbow and I could not believe the relief I got from it. The healing process was so much faster too. If you've ever had issues with golfer's or tennis elbow this is what you need.
Fantastic experience: Finding Niki has been life changing. She helps me navigate my chronic illness and has taken me from my worst physical condition back on the way towards being functional. Thanks to her I can do things again that I haven't been able to for over three years. And it's only getting better.
Fantastic experience: I am so grateful for Nicole and Recovery Sports Therapy. She is knowledgeable not only in PT, but also in multiple chronic illnesses. I have hEDS and Fibromyalgia, and she has been able to provide me with information from her own experiences. She is helping me understand how to work with my body, and provides compassionate support while I am learning. I would highly recommend Nicole to anyone that needs physical therapy, and especially to people with conditions like EDS, POTS, MCAS, and Fibromyalgia.
Fantastic experience: I 100 percent recommend Dr. Nicole Dumas as a physical therapist for anyone with a connective tissue disorder or other complex health condition. She's one of the very few physical therapists I've worked with who understands what it is like living with chronic pain and fatigue. I see her regularly for dry needling of spasming/painful muscle areas, direction for exercise, manual work, and advice/discussion on topics related to wellness/feeling-better. Great personality and bedside manner, knowledgeable, and supportive.
